Rippa Villa

We had a great tour with Jeff last weekend! My fiancé and I are still talking about how beautiful the home and land is and most of all how informative the tour was!! We arrived around 45 minutes before the tour started, so we got to go look on the trail for a bit. They have a very helpful map so you know what you are looking at! Our tour guide did a great job keeping us entertained with some jokes! We plan on going to their other historical sites!

Very interesting. Sheila, who led our tour, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her extensive knowledge of the history of the family who built and owned Rippa Villa made our tour so much better than we could have imagined! I can wholeheartedly recommend visiting Rippa Villa if you are in the area. On the website there were special discounted days at the time that we visited, so you might want to check ahead and plan your visit accordingly.

Enjoyed a great tour of Rippa Villa in Spring Hill, TN. House is slowly been restored and had some furniture. Grounds are lovely. Be sure and drive to see the cemetery and other buildings. Love that the shop had a large selection of books. This is part of the Battle of Franklin Trust. You can also visit Carnton and Carter House.

We had an amazing tour with Dave today! He was so informative and is a wonderful orator. Not only is he knowledgeable, he made the knowledge easily digestible to the “every day person”. They are doing wonderful things here at Rippa Villa (yes, it is two words ☺️) and I’m looking forward to my next visit!

My son and I had an awesome Battlefield tour today at Rippa Villa. Jeff, our guide, was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history here and the Battle of Spring Hill. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with him! He answered our questions and is so personable and friendly. We recommend you take the tours at Rippa Villa. It’s so interesting!!

Absolutely stunning old mansion along with rich history all together mind boggling and the guide was wonderful very friendly and had the best jokes! Absolutely recommend going on a tour to see the inside my favorite was the buffalo hid chest and the tiny uh oh door!

We arrived and there was a sign on a locked door next tour 1 pm. Since it was 1:40 I figured next tour at 2. Since I read on the website you may have to wait for the next tour I was prepared for that. We started walking around the grounds. We returned to the office at 1:55 to see a sign stating next tour 2:45. We never saw anyone. We could not wait another hour. We also purchased our tickets online as stated on the website. So we did not get our money's worth plus we drove from Nashville to see it. So we spent that time.

Great experience!! Tour was incredibly informative and allowed us to visualize that time and what the people had to deal with during the civil war.

We bought a combined ticket to see "Rippavilla, Carnton, and Carter House. We've yet to see Carnton and Carter. Rippavilla is a beautiful home that the CEO Eric Jacobson showed and told us about the home. He brought it all to life.

Get the guided tour. Well worth it. Glad to see this place is under new ownership. They are renovating to the time period. Had a great time learning about the history of this place and it's place in history during the Civil War period.

My family and I went on the slavery and the enslaved tour and Christy and Inetta did a wonderful job of guiding us through life for the enslaved on Rippavilla. The level of knowledge and insight of the actually people was breathtaking. We are all defintely richer in our understanding of the time and life during that era. We came away encouraged as we reflected on this time. I highly recommend this tour.

We had such a wonderful experience touring Rippavilla with good friends from Franklin. They had no idea what historical significance they had in their backyard until we toured Rippavilla. Our tour guide Bill gave us a personalized and informative tour. The home has no furniture now under new ownership but it's not so much about the home. It's about the Civil War Battle of Spring Hill which led directly to the battle of Franklin for telling historical rich stories. Highly recommend visiting this site first as part of Franklin's rich Civil War history.

I enjoy museums. I LOVE them when you have a knowledgeable DOCENT who can provide context, color and history. Rippavilla has great docents. While the plantation itself is not furnished and clearly a work in progress, the tour is still worth taking, the property is very interesting and the gift shop and book store well thought out. I enjoyed greatly.

A great place to play Vintage Base Ball with other amenities in the immediate area for families and others who are not Base Ballists.if you build it...he will come.

This home is so lovely and so beautifully restored and maintained. We enjoy taking out of town visitors there, they are always favorably impressed.

I am visiting from southern California until the 20th. My sister who lives in Spring Hill brought me to The Plantation knowing I love history. We drove to the back of the property saw the 2 cemeteries. Upon our way out we stopped by the gift shop bought 2 tickets for the tour of the house. Let me tell you it was the best thing we did Tyler was our guide he was the nicest, most knowledgeable, most hospitable guide I've ever dealt with. Tyler thank you so much for your time knowledge and answering all our crazy questions. To the operators of the Plantation Tyler needs a raise lol thank you for keeping the history alive.

We had a great time on our tour of the plantation. Tyler was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I would highly recommend taking the tour. Beautiful place to spend the afternoon.

Enjoyed visiting this location for the history. The folks here enjoy there work and show it during the tours. Well worth the visit while I was on vacation.

Very interesting tour and lots of great Civil War artifacts. Beautiful old house with incredible details and original furniture.

Bought out by new owners. What a rip off! First off we came here from Arizona to visit our daughter who had already been to the plantation a few months ago. When we arrived we were told new owners had bought the plantation and all the furniture was removed, but they still give guided tours. We were bummed out, but thought what the heck so we purchased our 3 tickets and 54 dollars later spent the next 45 minutes hearing about the Civil War and the politics of that time and nothing about the home. We didn't need a history lesson, we wanted to know about the plantation and prior owners. We did get their names, dates and how many slave they owned. The tour was so boring we left early. So disappointed never going back

Beautiful plantation and very nice tour! Well preserved Civil War and plantation family history. It's a little out of the way, but well worth the visit!

Don, our guide was awesome-knowledgeable, funny, and you could tell he loves his job. Plantation was beautiful although I would have loved to see the blood stained floors vs. replica carpet but it was still an awesome tour.

Came here for their after hours Whispers Ghost tour. It cost $85 and they only happen 5-6 times a year. It starts at 7pm and ends at 3am with only about a dozen people taking the tour. We were split into 3 groups and each was led by 1-2 paranormal investigators. They use equipment to sense a variety of thing like temperature changes and audio recorders trying to capture evidence of ghosts in different areas of the Rippavilla plantation. We went to upstairs, downstairs, to the cemetery, and to an auxiliary meeting building. The best spots were a 1 room schoolhouse where we saw sprites in the rafters and the barn where we heard a moan in answer to a question and a spray of lights was inexplicably blocked and then shifted as if blocked and moved by someone. Our guide was a Native American named lRon and he was awesome. He could speak Cherokee to the spirit of a mother with sick children than is supposed to haunt the auxiliary building.

Sitting on a hill, overlooking lots of deciduous trees, with groomed hedges and stately Greek columned entrance in clasic Southern style. Well worth dropping in if you're in the area.

We enjoyed our visit here. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot of history about the area and the plantation.
