We were nicely surprised about Risoer hotel which was located very nicely along the harbour. When we got there the hotel manager showed us their parking space, and we got the last spot. Very nice of him! They only have 6 (or 7?) spots, but we got one the next day as well.||||With the Covid-19 situation we were a little sceptical due to a recent trip to Stockholm (were the breakfast buffé was a total caos). The breakfast at Risør was a dream in comparison with waiters serving everything. I haven't had such service since I was in San Francisco! The eggs were perfect and we got extra bread and bacon when we asked. I did miss some smoked salmon, but I forgot to ask for it...||||The room was nice and very quiet with a view to a back garden. Everything was superclean. We were told there would not be room service due to Covid, but we only spent two nights so it wasn't a problem for us. This seems to be the same all over Norway, and even in Sweden.||||The hotel front porch was a very nice area to spend the evening with a glass of beer (or wine for my wife). We could relax and look at the harbour with the kids relaxing by the TV.||||The bath facility at Risør is ok. There is a place 50 meters from the hotel with stairs into the sea. The second day we walked to a public beach, but its a 20 minute walk, so remember good shoes. The beach was small, but cosy and perfect for the kids.||||All-in-all we had a nice stay at a classic hotel.

Risør Hotel is an institution, I guess. This was my fifth, or so, visit here. I love the place. All my visits have been off-season, so the whole wonderful little white city is silent, gathering energy for the summer season when tourists invade the place. This hotel offers a great location, the salty sea to the door-step, and spacious rooms. I also enjoy the breakfast (and the breakfast room). I also feel more than welcome to the friendly hotel.

Booked two double rooms (4 people). Made the mistake not to check the rooms before heading out. Coming back after dinner, we discover that one room only has one pillow/comforter. Hotel reception is gone for the night and answer machine gives no phone# to call. Nights are cold in Norway, so slept in jacket and fully dressed. Next day, reception staff apologize for mistake and says that we will be refunded for the room. In days that follow, the hotel refunds only 15% , arguing that they reduced the room price from 2 to 1 person. Makes no sense and does not compensate for the inconvenience.

Excellently located for the Reine laken event I was attending at the Peterhead bar, virtually next door. It was quiet because of the time of year but the breakfast and the room were both ideal. This town is just like somewhere in the east Neuk of Fife in Scotland.

I’ve stayed here many times and love coming back. This is the place to stay when going to Risør. It’s located 20m from the ocean, downtown. There are several bars and restaurants a few meters away. Friendly and excellent service, newly remodelled rooms.

The people who are working in the bar/restaurant are extremely noisy in the night time after they close, they party a lot until 02.00-03.00 o'clock on the terasse outside, disturbing the hotel clients. It was impossible to sleep because of the noise, many nights in the line. The hotel is nice and have a nice view to the sea but the personal have no respect for the clients. Cleaning we totally missed, 4 days without cleaning. The reason was Covid 19.... Hard to understand, I think we all should do our work, especially when is a virus in our life, we actually need more cleaning than usually. But no, there was no cleaning, nobody evan to change your towels or pick up the garbage! For 4 days!!! Very disappointed!

I stayed at this hotel last week, firstly found the information about operating the TV and such very scarce from the check in staff. WiFi in the room was very poor again information on how to access the right site from reception very poor. I was in B&B and found the breakfast very basic continental only. Worst of all was the bedroom the quilt only covered half the bed.?? there is only a body wash in the bathroom no amenities and no in room safe which is an essential these days to the traveler. The hotel has a good location so they really need to capitalize on this, there is not much competition in the town so they have no incentive to improve, but they really could do better. Risor is a very nice place so the need to take advantage of that.
