Ristorante Al Cristo-CHIUSO

Very nice restaurant in Verona. Turns out the owner family used to have a restaurant in Hanoi 20 years ago. Lovely place, good food, and I discovered another local and formerly unknown wine from the Veneto. Recommended.

This place is no joke. You’ll be tempted to go to more popular restaurants in the centre, but this gem has it all. Starting with fantastic service, our server came with such a warm and welcoming energy (I honestly wanted to give him a hug afterwards), from excellent recommendations to clear explanations of the menu - what a great way to be guided through this experience. Now obviously you’re coming here for the food. I’m not an expert, but it’s some of the best food I’ve tasted in my 4 day stay. You can feel that the chefs take pride in their work, especially when they’re taking a sneak peak at your reaction. I must say the steak was in the top 5 I’ve ever had in my life, and the wine recommended really accompanied my meal. Lastly, the setting is lovely. You’re close to the river, so it’s a gorgeous stroll through Verona to get there, and you’re close to the arena, so it really is a lovely hidden gem. Despite being opposite Conad City; when you’re sat in their pretty courtyard, eating fantastic cuisine and being served by a gentleman who has more suave in his pinky than George Clooney - it’s easy to forget, and just indulge in Verona.

Delicious food, good combinations. Everything in balance: taste, coulour, quality. And what bout the serving? Ah the serving. Well i suggest you find out yourself. If not you missed the hospitality of the owner. With love, Jan and Danielle

Delicious food and very befitting white soave wine! Primi are generous and pasta was cooked to perfection! A great stop for lunch (and probably dinner) on a terrace in the shade of ancient arch and with olive trees rustling... italiano vero!

Friendly service, which is important to me... especially in Italy. Lasagna was great. House wine was pleasant. Ambiance was superb. Recommend for people with families as they were accommodating with our two girls.

This place is an absolute Gem. The owners were so kind to us! The fish, pasta and beef was so good, cooked absolutely perfectly. This was a meal to remember!

on the bright side, nice terrace but on the not so bright side, below average food - the Tagliatelle al Ragu' di Coniglio were a waste of money, service was a disaster (wrong wine bought twice to the table) until we got saved by another waiter who fixed the situation.

Very nice and quite place tucked away in the city of Verona. The waiters are very friendly and have good humor. But the best thing is the food. The cook is a true professional. Big recommendations for this hidden gem 💎
