Disappointing Dining Experience I recently dined at this establishment and was left thoroughly disappointed. The pasta dish I ordered featured a sauce that tasted like plain, processed tomato paste—lacking any depth or seasoning. It was so unappetizing that I had to return it. The service was underwhelming; staff appeared indifferent and inattentive throughout our visit. Adding to the dissatisfaction, we were charged €10 just to sit and another €10 for a beer—prices that felt disproportionate to the quality of both food and service. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Edit: I saw the restaurant replied saying that I probably have a terrible taste and can't distinguish a homemade sauce from a bland store bought sauce. They also blatantly lied saying that I did finish my plate when I returned it almost untouched. Unbelievable! These people should focus on cooking instead trying to discredit unsatisfied customers...

A great dining experience. The food was delicious! Myself and my wife were on our honeymoon in Taormina and we ate here 4 nights out of 7. We ate in other places, but nowhere really matched Al Duomo. Our waiters each night gave great advice on food and wine pairings and very attentive to our dietary requirements. We loved our time there, especially the great view from the balcony!

HORRIBLE SCAM!!! A beautiful view on the church. No fresh but cheap ingredients. Not even the tomato sauce is self made. A beer is 10€ and each seat is 5€

I made a reservation through The Fork, but due to traffic in Taormina, we could not go to the restaurant. I called the restaurant and informed them that we would not be able to come. The next day, I made a reservation again through The Fork and stated that I would be very happy if I could have a table with a view of the cathedral. When me and my wife went to the restaurant, we were greeted very kindly. The view of the cathedral is the most beautiful. We saw that the table was reserved for us. Everything we ordered was perfect. The service was great and the view was magnificent. Thank you to all the staff who helped us have a very happy evening.

What can I say but 5 stars! The atmosphere is immediately welcoming, the management and staff are outstanding and the food is a resounding yes for deliciousness! I had the Spaghetti alle vongole and it was perfectly cooked. Ermanno took such great care of us! I will say he was so wonderfully patient with all the questions I had and fun! He really elevated the experience. I hope to visit them again next time I’m in Taormina, Thank you all for the wonderful evening.

Absolutely wonderful service here - they were so warm and lovely, we felt so welcomed! The food was delicious as well, especially loved the ragu sauce and the pistachio pasta. Snag the balcony table if you can - the view is lovely!

What an amazing culinary experience. The new owner is fantastic and talked us though every dish, made recommendations, and even showed us photos of him free diving fish and foraging for mushrooms. Brava!

The food was nothing special, my fish was partially undercooked. Way too expensive for the quality. We asked for a drinks menu, but there wasn't one. The waiter didn't know the price of a small beer. When the bill arrived, we found out: 10 euros each… Location is great, but that’s about it.

Yelp
Stay away from this restaurant. The food was TERRIBLE. The appetizer "Sicily tour" was 19 euro and it was a tiny bit of capanata which tasted like left over Chinese food, reheated egg plant parm and a little cheese stick which tasted like bad breath. Pasta was barely cooked at all. The door boasts several past Michelin recognitions - don't be fooled. This restaurant is a scam; There are great ingredients available 100 meters away at the grocery store . This place doesn't use them at all. Don't do it.

Yelp
I'll start by saying what any experienced traveler knows to be true, a place in the main square will be more expensive than Any other location. It's also usually also true that the food is often not that good. In this case the first is true but the latter is not. Last night we ate at Tischi Toschi that is graded highly (3?stars) by all the guidebooks as he best in Taormina. It was certainly amazing and holds its crown as best with me. This place mostly rated 2 stars in the guidebooks really holds up well VS Tischi but the cost is quite a bit more. In both places we had an appetizer a pasta and a fish entre. In 'Tischi we also had desert. There we had a bottle of red + 2 glasses of wine. Here we had one bottle of wine (an excellent white). The bill at Tischi around 100 euros here around 150. We ordered an appetizer of fresh small fish deep fried to perfection. This is similar to what the Spanish call boquerones. We then had a pasta a la Norma. That came which amazing homemade tubular noodles and where sprinkled with fresh goat cheese. This dish was a winner and better than the pasta we had at Tischi. They serve fresh fish by the kg and we had a small (about .5 kg) sea bass. This was broiled and provided a fresh, nice white fish filet. It was served with grilled veggies. The fish was brought out whole and then the server Filets it removing all the bones. He pours a nice olive oil and spice mixture over it. They also include a platter of breads baked in the premises. The restaurant is one flight up from the street and in the balcony you overlook the Duomo and the main plaza. It's a great view and nice to see all the goings on. The service was profesional and crisp. The fresh fish is by the kg so ask exactly what the aproxímate weight is and what it will cost and that way you won't be surprised. All in all this is quite a nice place with nice ambiance, sharp service a good kitchen serving well prepared food right on the main square.

Yelp
Ristorante al Duomo is a fantastic restaurant that is located in one of the most beautiful towns in Sicily,Taormina. Located on the second floor near the Duomo this simple but elegant establishment offers some of the best food I had in Sicily. We started the meal with cold sardines that had a small amount of olive oil and dusted with a small amount of the wonderful native lemons. My main meal was the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, that was superbly prepared with a small garnish of pasta. My wife and daughter shared the pasta of the day and a pork loin that they said was perfectly cooked and flavored. The staff was very professional and attentive. The perfect meal in a perfect location.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant they made a seat for us even though they were already full for the evening. The food was the best of the trip in Sicily. And the service was outstanding. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. But make a reservation if you can!

Yelp
Pretty cool spot, but I was not blown away by the food or the service. This is a well known place, but I think it caters to the tourists and not locals so if you're looking for a quality Sicilian restaurant, I would not bother coming here.

Yelp
Come here if you want to get screwed like we did. When I got the bill and saw that my lobster pasta was 120 euros, I nearly threw up. The waiter pushed that dish on us without telling us how much it was. I did not appreciate being ripped off like that as a tourist. Beware of this place. No wonder the place was empty.
