Just the best restaurant we went to in Venice. It's certified with the coeliac association. It's not a touristy place, but a proper nice, local restaurant. Absolutely delicious food, friendly and kind staff.

Beautiful artistic place with excellent food and atmosphere. The staff made us feel like having dinner at our home with family. The food is fresh, well prepared. We will certainly visit again if in Venice.

Google
An excellent option if you want to experience authentic Venetian cuisine. The staff were very kind from the moment we arrived; they found us a table on the terrace and smoothly relocated us in a different area when it started raining. We enjoyed several pasta dishes, though the menu also offers a wide variety of fish options. The tiramisu was fresh and delicious. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to Venice, as this place is a must in the city.

Google
not usually the biggest fan of seafood but this place easily changed my mind. the grilled scampi was perfect and they were very accommodating for gluten free options. best tiramisu on our trip around Italy !!

The garden outside was beautiful. My steak was cooked well. My husband had the gnocchi and said it was good. We also had the cold meats, and they were fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly. It's probably my best meal in Venice.

We stumbled upon this charming trattoria on our way to the Biennale and visited for lunch on a Sunday in mid-November. It turned out to be the best meal we had in Venice. The atmosphere made me feel like a local, enjoying a relaxed Sunday lunch with family—most of the other diners seemed to be regulars. We started with the cod roe served with polenta and an abundance of grissini (breadsticks). For mains, I had the fish lasagna, while my friend ordered the tagliollini with crab sauce, accompanied by glasses of local wine. Every dish was fresh, full of flavour and comforting, perfectly suited to the cosy vibe of the trattoria. The service was friendly and gave the place an old-school, welcoming feel. To finish, I ordered a double cappuccino, which turned out to be the best coffee I had in Venice. With its warm, family-like atmosphere, I would definitely visit again to try the seafood risotto —if only it weren’t our last day in Venice.

Google
This place had some of the nicer food I ate during my in Venice. This didn’t feel like a tourist trap, the atmosphere was nice and staff friendly. A little more on the expensive side but if you’re after more traditional Venetian cuisine then I’d say it was worth it. I had the Tagliata and highly recommend the red wine (in photos)

Google
The gluten free beer was great, very smooth, been enjoying all the selections of gluten free beers across Italy on my trip, spaghetti with clams was delightful, senza glutine of course, so simple yet I wanted more by the time I was done, and the fish, for 2 people but had all to myself, very tasty complimented by the tomatoes, olives and potatoes, so good, service was outstanding, very friendly waiters, highly recommend checking out

Yelp
Gluten Fresh Baked Rolls to die for... Risotto, Excellent! (Also, GF!) Sa tanto Bon! Great Service and not intrusive. Sit back and enjoy!

Yelp
Great place! just happens got the recommended by the fellow travelers meet in the train to Venice. Beautiful garden set up, this place mainly sea foods. We ordered three appetizers, two pasta dishes, 2 fish main course 2 meats course. All goods for 8 people, pricing quite reasonable for this area. The location little hard to find but with GPS you can do it. Very nice staff great professional service with the old charm flair. Will recommend and coming back again if we in the Venice.

Yelp
Went here based on Yelp / google recommendations . Sadly the food didn't live up to the hype , as everything was under seasoned. We had the pesto tagliatelle and a ragu , but both weren't very tasty even after adding tons of Parmesan cheese (which we normally wouldn't do in Italy). We ordered a grilled sole which again had no flavor. It was accompanied by shredded carrots which also tasted only of olive oil and not much else. The only tasty dish was the grilled vegetable plate where it had a small portion of stewed vegetables.

Yelp
The food was delicious and price is reasonable . The staff were friendly. The dining atmosphere was amazing, outdoor covered with leaves rooftop. Love the ambience.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience! Everything was great. Our waiter was a true professional but also fun and gave us great recommendations. The ambiance was beautiful out on the patio. And the food was delicious. You have to come here to eat while you stay in Venice.

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing. The had a tremendous gluten free food menu. We would absolutely go back next time we are in tonw.

Yelp
Amazing crab pasta and lobster pasta. Quaint, homey little restaurant with super friendly service. They hooked us up with some free dessert fritters after our meal; nice touch. Only downside was that it took 30 minutes to get the nice old guys to bring us our check...but such is Venice.

Yelp
Came her for dinner on a Friday evening (with no reservation) and got right in about 7:30pm. Food was amazing and we started off with a side of mixed vegetables and got the spaghetti carbana and spaghetti with clams for entree. Food was delicious and flavorful. Service was decent when we first got there and then a big group of 12 followed and that's where service slowed down. Took almost 45 minutes from completion of meal to finally get our check (even after asking). All and all, food was amazing, seating on the patio under the garden terrace was very romantic, but service was slow (as other reviews have mentioned).

Philip P.

Yelp
My friends and I went in and got a seat in their little courtyard seating area and it was pretty good. The weather was great and the tables and seating were very nice. I ordered their spaghetti al carbonara. It was quite nice and had a bit of creaminess to it. The spaghetti was a bit more al dente than I wanted it if I remembered correctly, but the food was quite good. Service was very nice and classy and the white wine went well with my food. I was impressed with everything.

Yelp
Second night in Venice. We had a recommendation to go here our first night but they were no open until 7 pm and we were far too hungry to wait. That worked out well also with the other place. Here you get over the top excellent service, a gorgeous setting to relax in outside and food that is at the level the service is at. My wife and I both wanted fish dishes tonight and there are at least 6+ types to select. We started with some Scallops that were cooked perfectly and moved on to the main course. She had a local sea bass while I had the gilthead. Relatives of each other and we had our waiter split them 50/50 so we had the chance to sample them both. Perfect dishes topped by a ridiculous Torta di Panocotta and a Tiramisu. We never get desert but it is so worth it at this place. The ambiance and food and service are noteworthy. Try it!

Yelp
Pretty good especially for Venice. But not as good as we've had in Italy. Prices are decent considering this place is so expensive. Hard to come from Florence and Roma where you can get so much good food and wine without being ripped off. This place has a great lobster sauce pasta. Very good! Our favorite of the meal. We also did the turbot for 2 which was good and they debone it at the table in front of you which was cool. House wine was good and not to pricey either. The seafood appetizer was good but it's all completely raw. You literally get your own little octopus and no sauce or anything so if you don't want to her total raw fish and seafood with no sauce then don't get this. All and all it was good and service was good

David M.

Yelp
Very nice calf's liver. Sardines were good too as an appetizer. Service left much to be desired but all in all a good restaurant with very good food and an excellent, quiet garden atmosphere. They were quite kind to our baby as well!

Yelp
What a little gem this place is. It can be difficult to find this place so plan your route ahead of time. Of course, most places in Venice are hard to find. This great little restaurant is ran by the owners. The wife is the only waitress and the husband is the chef. They were such wonderful hosts and they both chatted and thanked us on our way out. This place specializes in seafood and it was all very fresh and cooked beautifully. I really enjoyed the flavor of the cuttlefish cooked in it's own ink. The only time I've ever enjoyed an ink sauce was with this dish. We had several dishes and we were all very full. The highlight of the evening though was after our first and second courses. The homemade tiramisu (family recipe) was outstanding. The best I've ever had. The best part of our meal though was the homemade creamy limoncello they make. We ordered a round after the meal and enjoyed it so much they offered us another on the house. We even asked if we could buy a bottle but unfortunately it needs to be freshly made. Please check this place out and make reservations beforehand. This place is perfect for a romantic meal in Venice.

Yelp
There were 4 of us at lunch. The garden was pleasant. The restaurant was recommended by our local landlady. The pasta and clams was tasteless and greasy and this is one of our favorite dishes so just not well prepared. The spider crab was nothing more than crab meat in a shell on a lettuce leaf. I had to repeatedly remove chips of shell from the crab meat. We had a bottle of white wine which was fine. The pasta with crab meat which is photographed repeatedly here was fine once I added squeezes of lemon juice. We also had a shrimp and squid fritti which was good. The big turnoff came when the waiter was taking the check/credit cards and wanted to inform us that service was not included and asked whether we want to add it to the credit card or pay it in cash. In fact, Italians do not tip like we do in the US. The cost of service is included in the prices. If you receive exceptional service, you would leave a few extra euros. This waiter would never have dared say such a thing to Italian patrons. The check was 130€ and most certainly (like all checks in Italy) included service. We left him an additional 10€ but resented his brazen ask just b/c we were Americans.

Yelp
Took the bride and our daughter here for dinner after a long day of touristry in Venice. The bride had liver and onions and the daughter and I both had the veal Marsala. We also ordered a side salad for me and they shared a dish of pasta (which I ended up eating a good portion of.) The bride said the liver and onions were superb. I think it tastes like elephants smell, so I demur to her taste in the matter. The veal, on the other hand, was among the best I've ever had. I actually used the bread to mop up the remaining sauce after the meat was finished, it was so good. A special note on service: Many of the restaurants we visited in Venice had extremely poor service attitudes towards tourists, and it showed in the length of time everything took to get done. At this restaurant, our waiter was extremely pleasant and totally service oriented. It was SO refreshing! I do believe that kind of attitude reflects management expectations. In any case, I left a nice tip because I so appreciated his efforts to make us feel at home and be sure we were happy with our meal. You could do a LOT worse for dinner in Venice!

Yelp
As a Coeliac I was happy they were able to do most of the menu gluten free. Main courses were great the fish that was recommended was lovely however not boned well so ended up picking them out Staff were very helpful even hunted out a nice glass of Sav Blanc for me as I was only after a glass. Puddings were disappointing tiramisu was dry and my girls said creme caramel was bitter, all in all a nice meal maybe not worth that price.

Yelp
My first real meal in Venice.... ...and it was amazing! Granted, we were here for business and the meal was totally free, so I can't vouch for prices on things. Basically, there were seven of us and we ordered a set dinner compete with two carafes of perfectly chilled white wine and bottled water. First course: A delicious, creamy and amazingly seasoned pasta. I was later told that there was crab in this dish, but alas, I did not taste the crab. All I tasted was 100% deliciousness! Second course: Fish with grilled polenta, olives and roasted cherry tomatoes with a light white wine cream sauce. Super tasty, however I didn't finish this plate. I'm not sure if it's because there were a few bones in my fish and I was tired of picking them out, or if it was because I was still full from the pasta. Dessert: We had a huge choice of tiramisu, panna cotta with berry sauce, a fruit cup or a huge hollowed out pineapple, filled with pineapple chunks. We settled on splitting the tiramisu, and definitely don't regret it. To round out the meal, we ordered coffee (espresso in tiny cups for all you Americans!). Again, I'm not sure how much this meal cost but I'm guessing it ain't cheap. The interior was beautiful and reminded me of old spots in NYC or San Francisco. The waiters were kind and patient, and let us carry out our three hour meal without disruptions. Definitely a memorable meal, but I'm not sure if I'd ever go out of my way to eat at this place just because of the potential cost. I'd have to say it's worth four stars because of 70% food, 30% company. Hurray for places like this!

Yelp
Dinner tonight was fabulous - seafood to beef...the starter was a terrific sample of Venice's best seafoods (clams, scallops, calamari, shrimp), followed by a wonderful linguini and shrimp in spicy red sauce. I had a lovely fish and my husband a fillet - all was perfectly prepared. The thing that makes this restaurant stand out is the care that is given to the guests. You feel like you are dining with your favorite family or friends. The ambiance is warm and cozy - great wines. We can't wait to come back!

Christina C.

Yelp
Just had the yummiest meal here! Venice is wonderful but slim pickins for someone who eats no seafood. This place had four different kinds of veal, plus beef and other meat and non-seafood items, and of course lots of seafood. I had the veal Marsala and my husband had the veal ala Giardinetto, which was veal scallops with cream and mushrooms. Both of us were moaning with joy at each bite. buon appetito!

Dan B.

Yelp
This place is excellent for lunch or dinner. Away from the crowds at St.Marks. Great seafood pastas. Eat in the vine covered courtyard. You will not be disappointed. Very good prices compared to others with less to offer.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Fantastic meal for my first night in Venice! The clam pasta and pasta with crab sauce was delicious. It has a very romantic atmosphere in the outside courtyard. The owner and owners wife frequently checked on our table to check on the service. Although, our waiter was very slow and not attentive.

Katherine N.

Yelp
It felt like a scavenger hunt looking for this place. It's in a dark narrow alleyway, so don't panic and turn back! The food here redefined Italian cooking for me, so fresh and you could taste all the ingredients that they used easily. Very unlike any Italian food you would expect in the U.S. The prosciutto and melon dish was incredible!

JOHN C.

Yelp
An authentic Venetian gastronomic treasure. The Antique Garden is run by a husband & wife - the wife runs the dining room, and the husband is the Chef. They are charming hosts and live to perfect every dish, and every diner's experience. They are the only 2 running the place, so you may need to wait to be seated, or your meal may not be perfectly timed....you need to leave your American expectations of time at the door and just immerse yourself in the experience. Their specialty is seafood, every piece, I'm convinced, was pulled form the ocean just hours before, and the preparation was perfected by the chef. The dining room is an outdoor garden - which is charming, but can be hot in the summer...again,, its part of the charm. We had proscuitto & melon + a seafood Antipasti to start; Cuttlefish in ink + pasta with clams for our main and a life-changing tiramisu for dessert. Every dish was the absolutely perfectly prepared and served with the utmost care and pride. This meal was one of the highlights of our entire trip to the Mediterranean - a memory for a lifetime.

Naji S.

Yelp
Way too pricey for such a limited selection with poor service. Quality of food was below average, nothing to brag about. Not worth the $$$.

Todd K.

Yelp
This was a beautiful place for dinner. Food was very good and the atmosphere very nice. Wine and Drinks were good, had my first Negroni which was awesome. Service was very good. Dinner was a little expensive when the final bill came. Solid spot and we had a good time.

Lori L.

Yelp
The food was below average and the service was the worst in Venice Very rude The waiter was insulting and the owner apologized for him then tried to overcharge us as well

Richard S.

Yelp
A complete disaster from a service standpoint, the worst restaurant attitude I've experienced in many years. After being seated, we sat for 22 minutes with no one stopping by the table. A waiter finally came by and got out his pad and asked for our order. I asked about perhaps ordering drinks; water, maybe wine and that we had no drinks menu. He was visibly annoyed and walked off and summarily dropped a wine list in front of me and got his menu pad out again with the expectation that we should order immediately. I travel extensively for business and have never seen anything like this, hopefully it is an isolated occurrence and limited to this individual. However, I'd avoid this place at all costs as there are many really great restaurants in the area (we've been hear a number of days) and this was the first bad experience.
