Ristorante Al Ponte

We were here just for drinks. Since I am pregnant we wanted alcohol free drinks. When we said we don’t want to eat, an old waiter asked us to just leave. There was just one lady who spoke to English and said sorry this is a restaurant. We were waiting for someone to come and give us the bill. This was insulting & would never happen In Germany. Also not to mention there were many free tables inside and also some free tables outside. The way the old waiter said it was super unfriendly super loud pointing a finger. Not a place for tourists. Maybe they just welcome only Italians !

Great view and good food, which came in a timely manner. The service was however unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. This was confirmed by the lack of beau jest of offering a digestif after having ordered staters, main and desserts.

Nice restaurant on the river with a great atmosphere. Nice wait staff and delicious plates. Not too much food, so you can taste a good variety of plates.

I went there for work. Very good place, quod quality Italian and local food. Kind and helpful staff. Not far from beautiful bridge of Bassano di Grappa. I return there by my wife next time.

For a lunch al fresco in front of the river and overlooking the Ponte Vecchio that leads to the old town of Bassano del Grappa, Al Ponte is wonderful. A generous menu, dishes carefully prepared with seasonal ingredients, reasonably priced and nice people helping you! What else can you expect?...ahhhh the delicious “chocolatini con grappa” in honor to the historic distileria Nardini, and made with the finest chocolates in the wold. Take a box home; You have to try them!

Nice place but MISERABLE service. We were here in a group of 10. Eight had meals, one with a handicap only had drinks. Although enough tables were free, they forces THE HANDICAPPED PERSON (with crutches) to move to another table. When we asked the waitress for a statement, he never showed up. There are so many nice restaurants around, please consider where you want to leave your money.

Fantastic atmosphere, rip-off prices The staff could seriously not have been nicer or more courteous. The establishment was beautiful, in a good location near the famous bridge - and the atmosphere was very elegant and inviting. The prices, to be fair - were not so much more than any other below average to average restaurant you might find yourself in, however (and this is a big however) the quantity is NOT worth the price. It would be understandable to say that they charge a little bit more to keep the riff-raff out, or that it's to pay for the quality in ambiance. It would be fair to say that, if it weren't for the fact that they charge a 3 euro seating fee - per person! I was outraged by that, actually. And had the quantity of food not shocked me to my core when it arrived on the table, It still might not have been an issue. We ordered two dishes, respectively: Spaghetti with asparagus. I think they took one spoonful of pasta and placed it on the plate; Pork with potatoes. I think they took half a potato, cut it up, and then took about 5 pieces of chopped pork and put them next to each other on the plate. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to take photos of the meal...but the description should be enough. We had a bottle of water to share. Our total dining cost for all of the above: 37 euros. As chichi as the atmosphere was, it was not worth that amount of money - especially considering there were about three bites worth of food. Having said that though, it was very good. However, because the staff was so nice, and the atmosphere was so good - I will give them credit rather than complaints. Just be forewarned that you are going to have to pay a pretty penny for your meal, even if your meal isn't really the size of a meal.

Treat yourself to a dinner at Al Ponte, enjoy the beautiful view of the city from the patio and you will not be disappointed because the food is excellent! Our waiter was attentive and offered suggestions that made our experience here memorable and fun!
