Ristorante Al Pontile

After visiting the castle, we were looking for a nice place to eat. We did not have to walk far, we were greeted by a waiter who explained the menu to us, with many vegetarian options. We were seated at a table right by the water with a view of the pier and the castle. The service was prompt and pleasant, food absolutely delicious, prices appropriate for the incredible ambiance. Highly recommend !

The waiters seemed offended and nearly forgot about us after we didn't order any wine. Before that point they weemed very nice. Other people around us, ones that came before AND after were checked up on more than we were. The feeling of judgement never left whenever they would come by to take our next order. The carbonara was quite a bit overcooked (they nearly made it into scrambled eggs on pasta), and the calamari plus the fried shrimp were lukewarm in the middle upon arriving at our table. The views are good, but the food is not and neither is the service. We paid 72 EUR for a cola, a fanta, overcooked carbonara and not well enough heated up seafood. Absolute tourist trap - not surprising given the location but still disappointing nevertheless.

Amazing place! I totally recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to eat very tasty food & seafood! The view of the harbour and castle is stunning! Thank you, Adrian, for your hospitality and service! I will definitely come back! ❤️

Don’t go to this restaurant. Reserved our table as a group at this seaside restaurant well in advance, was told we were getting ‘the best table in the house’. We were sat furthest from the sea surrounded by flies. The staff were rude and incompetent, my friend ordered a beer before the meal and still hadn’t received it after finishing the meal despite being reminded twice. When someone from our group went up to the bar directly to ask for it, the waitress walked across the restaurant over to a computer to check our order before just pouring the beer? Service was generally slow and favoured non-English customers. When our drinks were brought out, the waitress placed the serving tray on the edge of the table and it flipped over and smashed. She didn’t apologise, instead rolling her eyes at us and telling my friend ‘not to touch’ the bottle for the next drink she brought out. The mains arrived and another waitress had no idea what meal she had in her hands, it was not ordered by any of us. Food portions were underwhelming, but surprisingly (given everything else), it was edible.

The personnel are very nice and the food is great with a wonderful view of the sea. The service is very good and this restaurant is a must try, it was the best restaurant we have been to on our trip.

Food was okay, had the seafood pasta and my girlfriend had the carbonara. However, it was quite apparent that we were treated less favourably as english speaking tourists. Italian speaking tables got their food well before ours, despite being larger groups. At one point one waitress even came and offered us dessert, as it had been so long since our starter. Several other italian speaking tables got their bill before us, despite us having asked before them. Generally the staff were not friendly to us, and we felt unwelcome, despite being invited in off the street. Overall, not the worth the money. Might have been our imaginations but we certainly didnt feel like we were wanted

Edit 6/17/18: Wonderful experience again. One of the best places to sit on a beautiful evening directly next to the see with the sun setting on the Aragonese Castle in full view. Delicious gnocchi con zucchine e gamberi (Gnocchi with zucchini sauce and shrimp) and very fresh. They let you know on the menu that your meals are cooked to order so this is not a place for a quick bite! /// This is homemade Italian food made by family members in the kitchen. It’s fresh and delicious. I ate here multiple times while I was exploring Ischia and the service was gracious each time. I was able to request that they prepare me the ragù of rabbit that is typical of Ischia and With a day or two request they had prepared it for me and it was superb. The seating and views are spectacular, especially near sunset. The fried anchovies (alici) were crisp, white, and fresh.

Beautiful restaurant for lunch. Spectacular waterfront view of the castle 🏰 and the port. Staff were very friendly and Professional 👌🏼 Luigi, Adriano and Simona were very helpful and very passionate, They offered us Limoncello at the end, which was the best we ever had. Highly Recommended!

This restaurant is a must when in Ischia. The service here is incredible. The view of the aragonese castle is to die for! The bruschetta appetizer, gnocchi, and linguine & clams were delicious to say the least. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the ambiance, atmosphere, and of course the wine!

I had to take a moment from my vacation to give a well deserved accolades to a well deserved establishment, I travel for business often, and I take many clients out to dinners, this by far was one of the best meals we had so far, my wife and I tried 2 different fish dishes, 2 appetizers and every one was exceptional, even their house wine beats the high priced wines, I had in many high end high priced restaurants. The atmosphere is casual and fun, it beats the stuffy overpriced restaurants we have tried. Great service overall, very pleasant, attentive staff. I highly recommend that you take the time to visit and enjoy the food, and we were surprised with the final bill under $70 We can not wait to go back again.

We have been eating in the Naples area all week and the food here by far the best we have eaten. 7 great meals and I had been looking for a Spaghetti Carbonara that would beat the first I had in Rome over 30 years ago. This meal was the best Carbonara I have ever had! The Spaghetti Fungi was also outstanding. I have posted a few Yelp reviews but this is first time I have been compelled to add a new business to review.

This restaurant has the best location and the most delicious food. We had the best food on Ischia, at this restaurant. With the beautiful sea next to you, there is also the view to the fortress in the background. The waiters recommend a very good white wine, that compliments the food we had. I will definitely come back again to this place.
