Yelp
Bruno was recommended to us by a friend, and we made reservations 2 weeks in advance. At that point, the only time available was 6:00pm- definitely reserve early if you want a specific time.
The outdoor seating is across the street from the actual restaurant, by a railing overlooking the sea. Many places in Positano had nice dinner views, but this was one of the best. However, the tables are adjacent to a busy road so there will be lots of people and vehicles passing you while you enjoy your meal. The music they played was interesting. It started with some quiet jazzy music fitting for a romantic meal, but switched to a bizarre assortment of Bruno Mars, Shania Twain, and Abba covers.
I started with a lemon sorbet and Prosecco spritz, which was perfectly refreshing after walking through the hills of Positano. We got the mussels for an appetizer and i would highly recommend them!
It probably took an hour from the time we ordered our entree until they brought it out. We didn't mind the wait, but the website said they had a strict 90 minute per table policy. Fortunately, this was not enforced.
We ordered a bottle of wine and the staff didn't seem super knowledgeable. We asked which of 3 bottles was the most dry and the waiter said they were all the same. The wine we ended up choosing was very good. For my meal, I had the catch of the day (sea bass) in lemon sauce, which was very light and good.
As I said previously, they did not enforce the 90 minute time limit for us, so we had time to order dessert. I had the lemon tiramisu and it did not disappoint. I tried some of my husband's regular tiramisu which was good as well. They had Nutella rolls listed on the menu that we had hoped to try, but they told us those were only for lunch and they weren't going to make any more. In that case, I'm not sure why they were on the dinner menu. After dessert, they even asked if we wanted coffee before bringing the check, and I was glad we didn't feel like we were being rushed out.
When they brought the check, they did mention that service was not included (hinting for a tip) which I found strange considering that is not the norm in Italy.
Overall, we had a very nice meal at Bruno. There were a few hiccups in our experience, but we would still recommend a visit, even just for the view.
