I’d first like to start with thanking them for being patient with a family “with 3 kids” . They were playful and silly with our kids. Now for the food ! We had a lot of it and it was all delicious. The spicy noodles were amazing with garlic spinach and butter salted fish, the shrimp and olive pasta was a great blend and if you want something light and refreshing to drink ! Peroni chill Lemon and a great rack of lamb … enjoy !

While the view from the restaurant is pleasant, it's nothing extraordinary compared to other options in the area. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. The lamb was dry and flavorless, and the accompanying fried potatoes were soggy. Given the similar price point to other restaurants I’ve tried, I was hoping for a better dining experience. The staff was accommodating, however, given the limited seating.

Google
Great little spot on the hill looking at the iconic Positano views and perfect to watch the sun set. Loved this restaurant, the spaghetti alle vongole was delicious. We went end of July which is busy season and we didn’t book but we turned up early and got a 6 pm walk in booking (the secret is to go early as they seemed to be running behind schedule by the time we were leaving).

Google
Very avg food with a okay view of Positano. Avg and slow service. We went there around 3:30pm were told that we had to order one main per person at least to be seated. We did but the food was really just sub par… there are other restaurants or bars down the road with better views.

This restaurant ruined the entire night for me. It was even more disappointing as the restaurant came highly recommended by our host. The waiters asked us to make reservations even when there were empty tables. When we made reservations and got back after 40 mins, the extremely rude waiter said the kitchen was closed which was a clear lie. On further prodding, they reluctantly got us seated with an extremely rude and arrogant service. The least I can expect in an Italian restaurant is the pasta done right. My shrimp pasta was watery and awfully bland. The shrimps looked like store bought ready to eat ones. I’m quite well travelled and never have I ever felt a restaurant service to be borderline racist! A restaurant with a great view doesn’t excuse an appalling service. Try and do better!

Google
The views were great, but the food wasn’t. The seafood pasta was slightly tastier than the lemon shrimp pasta. The lemon shrimp pasta had severely overcooked shrimp, and the texture was almost pasty. Wouldn’t recommend for seafood, but the views were great.

Google
The food and service were terrible which is a shame because the location and view is beautiful. Food was bland with no taste. I didn’t know it was possible to mess up making shrimp pasta but they proved me wrong. The service was one of the worst I’ve ever seen, they were all so rude for no reason. Definitely not worth going to.

I think staff are very kind, although they may look serious and tired but they always response to you, just send them an eye, they will know. Good food and they give a good recommendation.

Yelp
Bruno was recommended to us by a friend, and we made reservations 2 weeks in advance. At that point, the only time available was 6:00pm- definitely reserve early if you want a specific time. The outdoor seating is across the street from the actual restaurant, by a railing overlooking the sea. Many places in Positano had nice dinner views, but this was one of the best. However, the tables are adjacent to a busy road so there will be lots of people and vehicles passing you while you enjoy your meal. The music they played was interesting. It started with some quiet jazzy music fitting for a romantic meal, but switched to a bizarre assortment of Bruno Mars, Shania Twain, and Abba covers. I started with a lemon sorbet and Prosecco spritz, which was perfectly refreshing after walking through the hills of Positano. We got the mussels for an appetizer and i would highly recommend them! It probably took an hour from the time we ordered our entree until they brought it out. We didn't mind the wait, but the website said they had a strict 90 minute per table policy. Fortunately, this was not enforced. We ordered a bottle of wine and the staff didn't seem super knowledgeable. We asked which of 3 bottles was the most dry and the waiter said they were all the same. The wine we ended up choosing was very good. For my meal, I had the catch of the day (sea bass) in lemon sauce, which was very light and good. As I said previously, they did not enforce the 90 minute time limit for us, so we had time to order dessert. I had the lemon tiramisu and it did not disappoint. I tried some of my husband's regular tiramisu which was good as well. They had Nutella rolls listed on the menu that we had hoped to try, but they told us those were only for lunch and they weren't going to make any more. In that case, I'm not sure why they were on the dinner menu. After dessert, they even asked if we wanted coffee before bringing the check, and I was glad we didn't feel like we were being rushed out. When they brought the check, they did mention that service was not included (hinting for a tip) which I found strange considering that is not the norm in Italy. Overall, we had a very nice meal at Bruno. There were a few hiccups in our experience, but we would still recommend a visit, even just for the view.

Aly S.

Yelp
I was brought the wrong meal. They said they would bring the correct meal. I waited for 20 min while other tables were being served. I kept asking and I was ignored I finally said cancel the order and they gave me a look and they said "ok canceled". No apology. No explanation. Nothing.

Jelisa S.

Yelp
Dined at Bruno twice during my stay in Positano and the food was tasty. The view of the ocean was amazing and the service was decent. Both nights I had the lobster pasta, which for the price had a decent portion of lobster in the shell, along with a healthy portion of pasta. Both nights my friend and I asked the waiter for a white wine recommendation to pair with our food and he was very helpful. I believe the wine was eight euros. The first night we went we arrived close to closing, and they quickly helped to accommodate us and get our orders in before the kitchen closed. The second night we went, we received a different type of service we had to repeatedly ask our waitress for bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. We also had to ask for water and honestly, we felt a bit ignored so that took away from the experience on the second night. We expected better treatment. This restaurant is a little pricey but I'm sure you're paying for the view as you are overlooking the ocean. It's a nice spot for dinner for couples or friends and I would recommend somebody trying there at least once, but be aware that the service may be subpar.

Yelp
Great meal at Bruno! For appetizers, we split the caprese salad and grilled vegetables. Both were great! For my main, I had the gnocchi with seafood. This was prepared well. The gnocchi was quite light and there was bountiful seafood. My husband had the fish in lemon sauce, which I got to try. The lemon sauce was heavenly!! Only thing is that if you want a seaside view, to make reservations in advance!

Alex D.

Yelp
We had a great experience here! Overall pretty affordable for Positano and we had great service. We reserved a table a few weeks before our trip and did get a great table outside with a view. For dinner we had the gnocchi with seafood and fish of the day, both were really yummy! I think this is a great affordable option for dinner in Positano and the view is amazing. The only reason I am going with 4 stars is because compared to some other meals we had on our trip this just wasn't a stand out, but again I think this is a great dinner choice for the price point if you are looking for a good bite that is affordable.

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: Calamaretto Fritto (~€25) Tartara di Tonno (~€25) Pasta Polpetta (~€32) Panna Cotta (~€7) Aya's take: If you want the iconic view of Positano, you sit outside. If you don't care, you'll be served inside probably faster (especially during peak dinner hours). The Calamaretto Fritto was fresh, crispy, and salty. Probably some of the best I had in Italy. However, for ~€25, the portion was small. On the other hand, the Tartara di Tonno was probably some of the worst I had. Why are there apples and carrots mixed with tuna? It didn't sit right with me. There were also strawberries on the plate which didn't make any sense. The whole dish seemed like a cluster of ingredients that didn't mesh together. The Pasta Polpetta was very hearty and filling. We ended off with the Panna Cotta which was light with good vanilla flavor. Pretty solid overall!

Iris P.

Yelp
We talk about this Bruno Right next to our hotel we found Bruno's restaurant and let's just say the pesto was definitely the best-o!!! I mean look at the dish it's glistening with pesto it was so mouthwatery and we also got the pasta with eggplant and fish fillet, both were SO TASTY honestly look at those views! It would be nice if you could sit across by the water but honestly nobody was next to is it was romantic and we could be alone it was good for us! The service is super fast!

Danielle W.

Yelp
One of my favorite places. We were able to walk in right away for lunch, no need for advance reservations. Had incredible fish, fresh salad, aglio e olio. Fantastic meal and was not expecting it to be one of my favorite meals in Positano. Highly recommend!

Robert S.

Yelp
Very disappointing and incredibly over priced. 2 of 3 meals delivered first, then a long wait for the 3rd while others got cold. Everyone's food average, not terrible but just ok. Staff was inattentive, still the host asked that we leave a tip when paying the bill. While we always do, that is not customary in Italy and out of line to actually request. Compare to dinners in Florence, 2.5x the price and poor quality. Try elsewhere in Positano.

Narine G.

Yelp
Wonderful location with an incredible view and great food. Came here for dinner last night upon recommendation from my hotels front desk. The backdrop is the hills of positano. I highly recommend coming in the evening when the tourism has died down. Service was great as well. I ordered the seafood pasta with clams and mussels (great) my friend ordered the sea bass and eggplant pasta and she was happy as well. Would recommend for a scenic and great quality meal.

Keith B.

Yelp
The food was great and the setting amazing. Wonderful service. Two stars based on the horrendous drink they passed off as an aperol spritz. It came in a plastic cup and had three sips in it (it was packed to the brim with ice). I get paying a premium for food and drinks based on location, but this felt like I was being taken advantage of. No one likes being screwed. Charge more and make a proper drink or just come out and say you're taking advantage of your customers.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were in Italy during the month of September. Positano beach was actually where I proposed, right after an early dinner at Bruno. Would definitely recommend getting some tables outside, as the views are amazing. It wasn't too busy at the time we went so the waiters were pretty attentive. The food in my opinion was phenomenal. I got the scialatielli ai frutti di mare (seafood pasta) and I loved it. My fiancé and friends also loved their food. Drinks were pretty average, nothing extraordinary, but the food and views are enough for the 5 stars. Tips: Make reservations, since the tables outside fill up quick If you're looking forward to nice pictures I'd recommend going before 5/5:30 (when the sun is above the mountain) or after like 6:30 (when its completely behind the mountain). When the sun is starting to set behind the mountain the sun rays get in the way when taking pictures.

Lawson S.

Yelp
Very mediocre at best. My food came about 10 minutes late compared to everyone else, which the food was at best average. The service was at best below average as they took our drink and food order at the same time and then never checked until our food was finished for the check. The food, average but not bad not worth the price, but the best part is the bread was on tossed on the table in a paper bag which for an expensive restaurant seems like a money grab. Would not come here again but I will say at least you won't hate your meal.

Alexa U.

Yelp
The worst service in Positano. Incredibly rude staff. Waited an hour and a half for food, one dish served cold, all main dishes served seperate Ly. Amazing view & location if you want cute sunset photos.

Darsha M.

Yelp
We came on a really busy night without a reservation. We got a table inside so we couldn't dine with a view but after waiting so long, we would take anything. I thought the food was average, nothing exceeded my expectations. For starters, we got the lemon oil infused shrimp and we shared a gnocchi sorrentina for dinner. We sat in a corner all the way in the back of the room so we felt a little forgotten but to be fair it was a busy night for them.

Amanda R.

Yelp
We enjoyed our final dinner in Positano at Bruno. It was very close to our hotel and we were tired from hiking, so it was a great option for us. We didn't have a reservation and it was small and busy. They were able to sit us at a table on the restaurant side of the street. Fair warning, if you sit where we did, cars drive by close. We asked for a wine recommendation based on a previous wine I enjoyed and ordered food based on our server's recommendations. We got the gnocchi Sorrentino and the frutti di mare pasta and both were incredible.

Suechu T.

Yelp
A lot of people had reservations but I didn't and was still able to get a nice table outside with a beautiful view. It was warm today but cooler with the shade/umbrellas. The food was delicious. We ordered linguine and clams and another seafood pasta dish with tomatoes. Highly recommend!!

P Z.

Yelp
So. The untouchable? The view of you make reservations sea side. No question about it. If this is what you're after.... It's as good as it gets. The food? Meh ... mediocre. Service was friendly but took over an hour to get the appetizer alone. Mussels weee a touch salty make jg great become good. Fried fish plate was good. Fruity de Mari very good but hardly any pasta with it. Odd. We also had a shrimp spaghetti with white wine sauce and the shrimp were mushy Cannoli exceptional for desert. Food is 3 stars. But it's gets a free star because of the view.

Liv H.

Yelp
This was very bad food and not worth the price. It took a long time to cook, it tasted like lean cuisine, and we all left hungry!

Cheyenne G.

Yelp
When you go to Italy to have pasta, this is the pasta you expect! I had an absolutely delicious meal with stunning views! The pasta was incredibly fresh and the fish -- terrific! It was so delicate and full of flavor. The fresh tomatoes were some of the best o ever had, and of course I had to pair it with an aperol spritz! The staff was so hospitable and let me occupy my table until sunset hit to capture this stunning photo. I highly recommend Bruno if you're ever in Positano!

Leila S.

Yelp
We tried Bruno quite accidentally as we were hiking back down from the Path of the Gods. It has beautiful views and the food was delicious! The taste of the zucchini seafood pasta was truly amazing, full of flavor! It was one of the best dishes we tried in the Positano area!

Dan C.

Yelp
Great staff -- amazing food and views -- the quintessential Positano spot. We had the Cabrese and loved it.

David C.

Yelp
Terrible service! Rude staff that just drop your plate and run. Extremely overpriced. The rudest old lady at the register inside.

Tori E.

Yelp
Amazing! The food, the views and the service here are outstanding! I had the clams and mussels. My husband had the pasta carbonara. Both of us were absolutely impressed with this place! In fact, my husband said, "this is the best pasta dish I've had in Italy, maybe even in my whole life." My mussels and clams dish was insanely delicious! I was so happy with how the flavors and textures came together that I wanted to just pick up my bowl and slurp up the juices at the bottom, but since that would probably be frowned upon, I dipped my bread in it too! Haha! The service was good too. I loved that I could see Positano from the street as I dined here. The views are just heavenly and absolutely unforgettable.

Lillian N.

Yelp
If you're ever in Positano, check out Bruno! This restaurant had some of the best pesto pasta I've ever had in my life! We also had the lemon and herb fish, and it was really good. The staff here was very patient with us and answered any questions we had concerning the menu. You can also make reservations if you want to secure a spot at dinner time, as it gets pretty packed in the evenings. The views from the restaurant were amazing. I really enjoyed my time here

Katherine L.

Yelp
I was so upset that when we came around 4pm and wanted to sit at one of the tables with a view instead of sitting at a high top table that has some covering over the side, they said that the other tables are not for 2 tops. However the longer we sat, then some 2 tops were given that table. I had the pasta with shrimp and olives and it was so salty. It was so disappointing because it wasn't very tasty either. It was so disappointing that the pasta wasn't good and the service was not good either. It was hard to get a waiter's attention and they weren't friendly. The prices were also high.

Samira F.

Yelp
Unfortunately incredibly salty/almost inedible food - we ordered gnocchi with seafood. Small seafood portions and overpriced. 3 euro service charge per person and 4 for water (drank the entire bottle because of the salt load). Spinach (vegetable of the day) was tasteless and cold grilled vegetables also tasteless and seemed desiccated. Disappointing meal.

Paolo A.

Yelp
Was staying in the hotel next door, so we decided to hit all of the restaurants on Via Cristoforo & compare which ones were best. Bruno was quite the letdown. First off, the food wasn't terrible. The calamari fritti tasted fine but was crust-heavy. Tried all the pasta dishes & they just weren't memorable. The service was not exceptional, either. I will say that the view* makes up for it, if you manage to get al fresco (*Every building on this block has the same view) However, at least it wasn't terribly expensive, considering we got what we paid for. All-in-all, it's basically theme park-food. Come for the sights & sound but send the taste buds next door to Don Giovanni.

Jamie Lou H.

Yelp
il servizio era in ritardo! Not presumptuous here but the non white customers were being served first here - don't come here! But over rated.

Abbie B.

Yelp
My family was really excited to eat at Bruno during our trip to Positano! My mom got the lobster pasta and said the flavor and lobster was pretty good. However, my traditional carbonara had almost no flavor. My sister also said the same about her pesto pasta. While the views are spectacular, I'm not sure if Bruno will be on must do list for my next trip to Positano. I will say their Aperol spritz was great with the view :)

Krista T.

Yelp
Like everywhere in Positano, the view is incredible. The food was fine and the service was decent. Nothing standout but easy to get a table.

Kristin M.

Yelp
After traveling almost 30 hours to arrive in Positano we asked our hotel concierge to call and get us a reservation. We were very lucky being that it was a very busy Saturday. The service was very good and so we as the ambiance. We enjoy the mussels for a starter and then pasta dishes. All very very good.

JJ H.

Yelp
Friendly owner, great view of the town, fresh produce and best grilled squid I have ever had.

V Z.

Yelp
Food was absolutely terrible, it is a shame to call the food Italian food. Waiters are rude, obnoxious, and ass holes. Ambience was the only thing that gets a star. Do not go to this restaurant.

Steve M.

Yelp
Great food, very accommodating. Nice views and won't break the bank. We are going back.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
I was shocked that our resort host recommended Bruno out of all the restaurants along this street. It was probably my least favorite out of everywhere my husband and I ate on our Italian honeymoon. At least it was close to where we stayed in Positano. First of all, the staff here is dismissive and NOT attentive. My husband informed me of Italian etiquette where wait staff don't pay a ton of attention to their customers and let them stay as long as they want, but even so, I didn't feel welcome in this establishment. For dinner, I decided to take a break from pasta and try the steak with garlic, parsley, chili flakes, and olive oil. And a glass of red wine, of course. The steak was not great, overall like something I could just throw together at home. (And I don't cook, which is saying something.) Even if wait staff aren't stopping by the table every 10 minutes to check on us, they could at least scan the room once in awhile instead of milling about and ignoring customers. I had to practically get up from my seat to get someone's attention. And when they engage with us, it was cold... Like why are you in this industry? All that to say, of course I wouldn't come here again or recommend this place. It's one thing for our waiter to be having a bad day, but that attitude seemed to be apparent in everyone. How unfortunate since we wanted to feel happy on our honeymoon.

Sara B.

Yelp
Bruno might be one of my only 3 star reviews from Italy. It just wasn't *that* special. In all fairness my order was pretty basic -- tomato and mozzarella to start and ravioli pomodoro for a main. The mozzarella was supposed to be buffalo, but wasn't very creamy or fresh. It was reminiscent of packaged mozz that I get from the supermarket at home. The tomatoes also weren't super fresh and were a little green. Ravioli was also very lackluster and this was honestly a little reminiscent of Chef Boyardee. Service also wasn't great. They have a large outdoor seating section across the street and they seemed to just forget about us. The views are great outside, but you do have to sacrifice good service for that. Dessert was also a bummer. We ordered gelato, and they did not specify that it was covered in hazelnuts and chocolate. Nuts are an allergen, so this should certainly be written on the menu. Ironically enough, the table next to us was having the very same issue due to the unforeseen chocolate. If I have a next trip to Positano I'd probably opt to skip this spot.

Jared H.

Yelp
Staff was naggy and rushed us the entire time. Food was okay, at best. Prices were high. They charged us for something we ordered but never received (€16) and it cost €10 extra to use a card. Would not recommend. To be avoided.

Martha A.

Yelp
Awesome service and amazing food! Great location in beautiful Positano!

Lisa C.

Yelp
Amazing food and I love that they have so many options in the menu. It's a must to stop here we did lunch and they sat us promptly! Truly enjoyed everything we had and friendly staff members

Kelly L.

Yelp
* Price: decent, 10-15€ per dish. 4 star. * Ambiance: small restaurant with indoor and out door seating on the street across the restaurant. Nice view of Positano. 5 star! * Location: main street of Positano. There is no parking onsite. 3 star. * Meals: pretty good, good menu with variety. Good quality and fresh. 3-4 star. * Service: friendly but no nothing exceptional. 3-4 star. This place was recommended to us from our hotel. We came for lunch only. There are about 5-6 tables on the street with great view of Positano and the ocean. - Frutti de mare: good variety of seafood, well cooked. The pasta is fresh but a bit hard and thick. - Steak: good size, tender. However, there is no side dishes to go with steak. You will need to order side dishes. We did order french fries which were just ok. The fries were too thin and dry even though they took 10 min to fry them. - grilled seabass: fish is cooked well, tender and crispy. Overall, it is pretty good option if you stay nearby.

Jing F.

Yelp
Worst restaurant I've ever been to. From the beginning they treated my girlfriend and I with rudeness. Other people came in after us without a reservation and got a table before us. After 30 mins of waiting in the Sun, they finally seated us. After seating, they ignored us and after trying to flag them down for another 30 mins to order some water, they continued to ignore us. I don't know if it's because we're Asian but we will never go back to restaurant again. Hope this review will help others considering this place.

Morgan A.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Positano that was recommended by our Airbnb host. We got the lobster special and while we weren't expecting it to be as expensive as it was, it was well worth it. It was perfect. The workers were very kind and the views were great.

Matt L.

Yelp
They're not really trying, so it's hard to take seriously. We ordered a 2011 wine; they brought a 2016, which may seem like a minor deviation but is pretty big they said the menu was a type o We ordered spaghetti arrabiata: they brought a ziti. They served olive oil in small, single serve packets. The swing was noisy, both from street traffic and the staff yelling to one another and moving furniture. And the food just was not good. It was bland, oversauced, and poorly executed.

Paul G.

Yelp
Six years ago, my wife and I ate there twice in a week. They were attentive and really took care of the customer. We Returned to Positano in October of 2022 and immediately went to Bruno's. I'm sorry to say, it was far From the Bruno's we remembered. The staff was rude and couldn't care less if you ate there or not. They had a wine listed in there menu that they didn't have and tried to give us something that we didn't order. When I asked about it the owner got defensive and started yelling in front of everyone and said that it wasn't their fault that they listed it wrong In the menu. Unfortunately, we will not be returning!

Marissa A.

Yelp
Service was great! Nino and the guys were fantastic. I highly recommend the Lobster Spaghetti. Views are breath taking as well. Definitely a must when in Positano!

Ann P.

Yelp
This place is a must when on the coast. The view alone makes the meal a hit. The food is spectacular and fresh. The servers are efficient and hard working. My favorite thing about this place is the view though. Nothing beats a view with a fresh dinner while witnessing the sunset. This place is a 5 star in my books.

Francesca D.

Yelp
Came here on a whim on a recommendation from our concierge. There's an amazing view with the seating they offer across the road. We didn't make reservations, but it was a chilly night so the ambience was still nice inside. Read this in another review and I'm so happy I did, PESTO. Get the pesto pasta, it wasn't on the menu but ask about it. It was the best pesto I've ever had. The gnocchi with seafood was also delicious. So if you're doing a splitting type deal I would get those 2. But I could have had several more plates of that pesto pasta. The veal was also just melt in your mouth good, which I wouldn't generally expect so that was a nice surprise.

J S.

Yelp
Was reluctant to try, my mistake. It was very good, great service and spectacular views (sunset was sublime!). Food was much better than expected and worth returning for, guided wine selection of local varietals was perfect and reasonably priced.

Sam B.

Yelp
I made a reservation here 2.5 months in advance of our trip to the Almafi coast. My wife and I walked in and spoke to a waiter...showing him our reservation. The waiter stated that all reservations were cancelled the night before. Another American couple had a similar experience as us. While we waited to speak to another waiter, an Italian family came in and was seated immediately. We spoke to another waiter who threw his hands in the air and said they were booked for the night so we left. Don't waste your time. Food looked overrated too. Too many other great places to eat here to waste your time at Bruno's.
