Ristorante Casa del Popolo

Lovely atmosphere, and friendly, attentive wait staff. Unfortunately, our food (the pesto gnocchi and the porcini tagliatelle) were sadly disappointing— tasteless really. Maybe other dishes there are better, but I won’t be back to find out. :^(

We had a really lovely meal here and we would say the best since being in Switzerland and Italy this last week. Inventive fresh food that is well priced and great meals other than basic pasta and pizza. The staff were great serving us as our Italian is poor. My husband had rabbit and I had the most amazing Caesar salad I think I have ever had. Servings were generous and beautifully presented.

Excellent food and friendly service. The Casa del Popolo.is a great choice for casual dining in a relaxed atmosphere in central Bellinzona. They offer a wide selection of pizza and pasta dishes. All dishes were delicious and good portion sizes. Service was friendly and

Really generous servings, and the pasta was perfectly aldente. A bit surprised at the carbonara, which was most likely made with cream and not the original recipe, but still good! The service was a bit grim. We chose the interior room as it has the AC, but as a tradeoff the table was attacked by flies.

For Swiss standards, good price quality portion value! Each pasta is less than 20CHF! Simple dishes but very delicious and the pasta is done al dente. If you go during asparagus season they'll have asparagus dishes and they're amazing. This place is casual and a lot of tables, good for groups. Also right next to the train station so if you need to catch a train, good place to eat and relax till your train comes.

Very nice people, very familiar and a clean, beautiful and, cozy place. The prices are in the middle segment and the menu has selected dishes and they are also very good. You have on the last two pages listing's of the dishes and of all substances that the contain, so allergy sufferers can orientate themselves on what they can eat. The service was very polite and one spoke at least Italian, German and English. Dinner was very good and tasty. Everything was very fresh and tasted delicious too. You can also bring your dog and there are also conference rooms and you can also book it for a private event. For peak times it is better to reserve, there is also a menu that you have to order 24 hours in advance. The dessert (Tiramisu with strawberries and creme catalan) was delicious. We really enjoyed it here.

A very cosy place, next door to the train station. Very tasty and local food but - a shame for the kitchen - a poor service! We have been ignored the whole evening by the waitor, always had to ask for his attention, had to ask to order etc... Seemed like he didn't fancy to serve a grooup of swiss-german hikers, which is a shame. Especially because the restaurant and food would deserve a better customer care

Delicious food at a very reasonable price with friendly service.

We were glad to see a restaurant open mid afternoon as many close for a few hours mid day to reopen in evening. We were able to easily get a table and browsed the simple but varied menu offerings. I ordered spaghetti bolognese and my husband ordered gnocchi. Both were very reasonably priced, especially with the high dining prices we have experienced in Switzerland this far. Our drink orders arrived quickly along with bread and fresh Parmesan for our pasta orders. It wasn't long before our beautiful meals arrived. We both loved our meals and noted the highlighting of simple flavors that made for an excellent meal. One of the best we have eaten here in Switzerland and we have been to Vienna, Salzburg, Lucerne, and now Locarno! Well worth a bus ride if less than an hour from Locarno or train ride to come see the castles around, walk the town, shop if you desire, & enjoy slowing down and finding shady spots to sit and relax,
