I saw this restaurant on The Amazing Race & wanted to try it. We each ordered a pizza, it was good & came out pretty quickly. They forgot the ham on my friend's pizza so she was a bit disappointed but being hungry, she didn't ask for a new one to be made. Seating area is outside along the street. We went pretty late & there was no wait for a table. Prices are reasonable.

We stumbled upon this cozy restaurant, open since 1938, under three generations of the Ettore family. They were very welcoming and friendly, giving us a tour of Il Forno and their beautiful cucina. The grilled eggplant and eggplant parmesan sides are amazing, and the fresh spaghetti with clams is something worth coming back for! Their tiramisu is the best we've had in Naples, made fresh (not brought in from another bakery).

From the street we could hear the sounds of a busy kitchen and the voices of happy diners so we stopped to check out the menu. All written in italian but we figured enough to know we would find something we liked. We were seated with a menu that had English notes and picked out choices. The staff had made recommendations and the ordering began. We had drinks, starter, sides and main. All very reasonably priced. Yum all the way thru. We have really enjoyed the local dining. Such a lovely experience. 🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️

This is the pizzeria used on Season 37 of The Amazing Race, a US realitity TV show. I sought it out as I had seen it on the show (a very fun episode, BTW). The pizza and salad were excellent. The service a bit choppy but ultimately successful. The owner was super friendly when I mentioned I’d seen Da Ettore pizzeria on The Amazing Race, and showed me clips of the teams on his phone. He invited me to the kitchen to see the pizzaiolo throwing the dough and get a pic. Strangely, they don’t seem to be capitalizing on the potential publicity the show gave them (it took me a bit of sleuthing and referring back to the streamed episode to figure out where it was), but then again this is an old restaurant and already plenty popular with locals (most of the diners on a Saturday for lunch seemed to be locals). I will likely go back for another meal there as the food quality and the ambiance are both top rate.

My Italian friend showed me this place. I was impressed the moment i opened their menu, not only pasta and pizza, but lots of seafood dishes! They have small terrace outside, good selection of wine. All dishes we ordered were very tasty, mext time come back for some pizza!

This was such a banging meal - one of the best we had in Italy. The service was a little bit slow but apart from that it was perfect. Would say it’s a must-visit in Naples

Really nice place, with the same quality of the fancier restaurants closer to the water, but a better quality-price rapport as it’s a bit farther. We ate the pasta that was the specialty of the restaurant and it was amazing. The squid, prawns and escalope with lemon sauce were delicious too. The point of improvement, to me, is the service. Despite not being rude at all, we did have to call the waitress every time to change the plates, make an order, order more wine, get the next course, etc. They were not bad, just not really proactive.

Ettore gives his clients all the care they need to make them feel at their ease and at home. Since the very moment you place the order, you are constantly looked after and the so warm and nice Napolitan way of being of his staff makes the rest to let you enjoy a great meal. Food and service are outstanding and Ettore is surely a must in your Naples experience.

Yelp
The best pizza and calzone I had in my 10 days in Italy. Staff was initially standoffish but quickly warmed up and the service then was great.

Yelp
The food is delicious here and service is great. I ate here several times during my month long stay in Naples.

Yelp
I would punch a baby to eat here again. I took a train from Rome and then walked here from the train station just to eat this pizza and it was worth it.

Yelp
Dropped in here for a late lunch, was seated immediately. We ordered the Pagnottiello (pizza sandwich) which is rumoured to be a specialty. It was amazing and so was the ambience in general. Understated and classic, none of the pomp and show of the other famous Neapolitan pizzerias (Sorbillo, Da Michele etc.). Good service (unlike the other pizzerias mentioned) and a great location. No complaints at all. Will need to try their pizzas next time, they also looked great and if they tasted half as good as the sandwiches, worth every penny. If there's one pizzeria you want to visit in Naples, make it this one :)

Yelp
I was going to do 4 stars but after considering the authentic pizza, good wine, local color, good service, and old school atmosphere, I said to myself, what the hay, let's do 5. Great local experience at 10 pm on a weeknight!

Yelp
So... Honestly this is my favorite restaurant in Naples, however the service you get depends on the server... the first two times I went I had an older grey haired guy who help us with the menu translation as I don't speak Italian.. our food was amazing! I had the spaghetti puttanesca and grilled calamari then Zepolis for dessert yum! Second day for lunch Margherita con búfalo yummmmy! My last night I decided to got back with my boyfriend, as I love this place.. I ordered the spaghetti with clams fried zucchini and bruschetta.. My boyfriend ordered fettuccine with butter and a steak medium well.. My food was perfection, his food was not. His pasta came out then his steak came out 40 mins later.. we inquired with the waiter(different from our guy from the 1st 2days) he said its coming. It was cold and waaaaay undercooked. My boyfriend didn't even eat it, but we were expected to pay. Completely disappointed as I was this places 1st two days.

Yelp
We found this restaurant by accident. It was a hot and humid day in Naples the dark wood paneling and bright peach table cloths called to us. I can honestly say that this was the best meal I had in Naples. Starting with the perfectly marinated 'alici' to my swordfish steak done with mint and garlic, I was in foodie heaven. Grazie mille!

Yelp
Fantastic quiet Italian restaurant that has the most amazing pizza and veal. I love the service, I love seeing the pizza being made, and I love how quiet the restaurant is. Does miss this hidden gem in Napoli.

Yelp
This is probably a 3.5 but maybe a 4. I liked it but my wife was less impressed. We had a margarita pizza which was good though not as good as Lombardi. My wife had a spaghetti with red sauce that was nothing special. I had a hand-made fusilli-like pasta with clams that was quite good. I think we walked out of there for around 40-50E with a few glasses of cheap wine. They made a good effort to seat us on a busy night with no reservation so +1 for that.

Yelp
This little restaurant was recommended by our B&B. What a wonderful surprise. Loved the food and the atmosphere. It was almost like be invited to a big family dinner. When we arrived at 7:30 there were only 2 other people there. An hour later the place was packed. I had the gnocchi and my husband had the squid dish. We will probably go back tomorrow night because there were so many dishes on the menu we wanted to try.

Yelp
We dropped into this place for take away pizza on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. Staff was friendly, pizza was very good and we were in and out in about 5 minutes. Others were eating dinner and all looked good

Yelp
I discovered d'ettore in 1962 and have been friends with the current owner, Renato ever since./ dined there whenever possible through the years. The wide selection of wonderful Italian cuisine continues to draw crowds when other restaurants on the street remain nearly empty. Quaint and unassuming, the cozy interior belies the truly wonderful dining opportunities offered. During summer the tables spill out onto the sidewalk and still a line forms early and continues throughout the evening. I strongly recommend you sample the simple Pizza Margarita - it's beyond description and a hallmark take out dish throughout the day.
