The food was amazing and service was even better, compliments to the bar for allowing us to enjoy our own recipe cocktails. FYI you have to try the lasagna it is outrageously good. Definitely will come back on our next trip to Rome.

We return to Dilla every time we're in Rome, it's a short walk from the Spanish Steps. The atmosphere, service, and quality of food is consistently excellent Their classic Roman pasta dishes and their famous meatballs are all top notch, but this time I was more adventurous. My Eggplant Croquettes were crispy and filled with a smooth eggplant and potato filling, with a touch of mint to amplify the flavor - very good (and very shareable) My Lamb Scottadito ("finger burning") was perfect, straight from the grill, grilled to medium rare (so the chops were pink on the bone), with a crisp outside sear. And so tender. The accompanying arugula goes well. Wine nerds will love their selection as well. Very much recommended.

Google
We were very lucky to find this wonderful restaurant where we enjoyed the best pasta with truffles in all of Rome and a remarkable prosecco. Special thanks to the excellent staff, Salome and Victoria, whose recommendations really helped us make our choice.

Easy S.

Google
Good food with a unique atmosphere. Marinated squid was tender, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the meat and cheese selection and focaccia was delicious. Avoid the burger on the menu; not the place for a burger. The waitstaff seemed annoyed by us while friendly with others, making it uncomfortable.

Google
Ristorante Dilla was an unforgettable experience. The waiter recommended the eggplant with cheese—creamy, flavorful, and delicious. The crisp focaccia was a perfect touch. But the star was the truffle pasta—rich, aromatic, and truly the best I’ve ever had. A must-visit spot for exceptional food and warm service in Rome.

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in Rome! The seating is cozy and feels beautifully Italian, right in the charming streets of the city. The steak is absolutely delicious, and the truffle pasta is amazing. Service is kind and the place is quiet — I always sit outside and usually make a reservation, especially for dinner. And their tiramisu is so good — definitely a must-try!

Google
We savored our al fresco dinner here. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and they did a wonderful job of protecting my son with his food allergies. We would definitely return, if given another opportunity.

Google
Rating: ★★★★☆ (overall 3.5–4/5) Dinner at Dillà was fine but not memorable. Book ahead or be ready to queue. The menu is compact with Italian staples, plus a separate truffle menu. Seating is tight (indoors and out). Prices are average for central Rome; wine list is decent. Flavors were mediocre overall. Dessert Pavlova was a miss (very hard meringue, bland cream); we mentioned it, the server apologized but didn’t remove it from the bill. Okay for a one-time visit.

Yelp
It's about 5 minutes walk from the Spanish steps. We were a group of 6. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Good and bad with this restaurant. We loved the atmosphere and thought it had a beautiful, quaint feel. We ordered the cacio e pepe, the bread service and the pistachio meatballs. The cacio e pepe was great and would 100% recommend that to anyone. The bread service was ok but not necessary. The meatballs were the most recommended item but I thought were the most bland. Just not really seasoned even though they looked great.

Yelp
Heard about Dilla from the show Bobby & Giada in Italy. I am ABSOLUTELY obssessed with pistacchio, so when Giada made the mortadella meatballs on the show...I knew I had to stop in. It was a fairly quiet late afternoon & we had the: *POLPETTE "DILLA'" CON MORTADELLA E PISTACCHIO "Dillà" veal meatballs with mortadella and pistachio - bellissimo!! So unique and delicious. Mortadella is also fairly fatty so this retain a really nice texture (not dry at all). *GRICIA (Pasta with guanciale and pecorino cheese) - one of the four Roman pastas - how could we not? It was PERFECT here at Dilla. I could have eaten plates on plates of this! Cute lil' spot and I could see it getting super busy around the usual Italian dinner time of ~9pm - ha! Worth a visit!

Yelp
This was surprisingly one of the best meals we had in Rome. Cute little alleyway restaurant with a robust menu. The pastas, seafood apps, and dessert were all good. Service was good. I'd definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you're in the area shopping or visiting sites like the Spanish steps. Didn't seem like a tourist trap either.

Yelp
It was our last night in Rome and it poured from 4 pm to 6:20 pm so we decided to try a restaurant nearby the AirB&B. It was Dilla. I tried to book the reservation online but kept getting error messages. I tried 3 different available reservation times and all 3 times same error. Table not available. Since it was a 3 minute walk, we headed for the restaurant. They were very kind to accommodate us with a caveat that we must finish our meal and leave by 7:30 pm, which we complied. Joel ordered the steak and said it was delish. Cooked to perfection. I had the spaghetti with clams and roe. I believe it's the best tasting I have had since ordering linguini with clam sauce in several restaurants around the world in my lifetime. The service was good. The restaurant ambience is very classic. Just wished we had more time so we can fully experience the restaurant's food from appetizers to desserts.

Yelp
What an amazing place we stumbled on this restaurant on accident. The food was amazing. They had the best carbonara we tasted in the city. The service was nice. The ambience was great hidden and tucked away.
google avatar

Adrianna S.

Yelp
We came for the Dilla mortadella meatballs and they did not disappoint!! They were delicious. We got a little table outside and enjoyed having wine and eating in the street. Service was quick and friendly. It's pricey but worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was really good! I had the lasagna and loved it, the meatballs with pistachios were out of this world. The service was really friendly, I appreciated that the server telling us about the area. Highly recommend this place

Yelp
Four of us had dinner here. Two of our pastas were undercooked. I understand and appreciate all dente, but this was not that. It was undercooked. When you have to dig pasta out of your molars, it's undercooked. Two of our dishes were so salty they were inedible. I ate one bite of my pasta only. When I informed the waiter that I could not eat it because it was so salty, I honestly don't think he believed me. They removed $6.00 from our ticket. My dish was $16.00. Apparently, my one bite was worth $10.00. I want to say that we appreciated the service, because the waiter was initially very nice, and we had fun conversation with him. However, when the time came to truly provide excellent service - which is to believe what your customer is telling you, and make it right - they just didn't even try. I cannot recommend this restaurant, and will not be back.

Yelp
Second year in a row we come here from long Italy venture to be the most amazing Lasagna ..on top of the nicest staff, food, service and ambiance ..a must stop ..any negative reviews are just any people ..small neighborhood gem..if it's a nice night seat outside is a dream but this night on a rainy night sat inside and it was equally delightful

Allie R.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner- great service and delicious food. Carbonara was best we have ever tried. The restaurant was gorgeous and the tables spaced well- would return in a heartbeat!
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Reservations are highly encouraged. Tables are small and the space is tight, but the walls and shelves are interesting. We ordered meatballs, plain pasta(delicious!) and dessert. This is a place I will return when I have more time to enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
Online reservations worked well. Meatballs were great, as was Carbonara and chef's special raviolis stuffed with burrata. Good service and pricing.

Yelp
Our concierge at the hotel we were staying suggested and made us a reservation for this restaurant. As he was telling us about their authentic Italian food his eyes got wider and wider with excitement. I thought it was hilarious. We went for dinner and man did we underestimate the power of fresh ingredients! We did not want to leave even the Merlot was amazing . This suggested by the waitress. A little bit pricier, but we did not complain. We went for a good walk after dinner. Loved it

Jake T.

Yelp
Truly the best lasagna I've had in my life, with the truffle cream pasta coming in at a close second. The rest of the food, drinks, and service were all above satisfactory as well. Great air conditioned indoor ambience that was a plus for the hot month of August we visited. 10/10 recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good little restaurant. We ate outside and it was not the best seating situation. It's a small street and busy. Lots of cars passing by the street seating area. But it's par for all restating the area. That it for the bad for this restaurant. The great. It was fairly inexpensive. 119 euro for 4 with drinks!!! In an expensive shopping and tourist area. The food was tasty and the staff was excellent. Made us feel LY appreciated even as it got really busy. I feel bad to take the star away for the street tables.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
We had dinner here on our last night in Italy. It was right around the corner from our hotel and the concierge recommended it. He actually made the reservation for us. The food was fantastic and the service was better! The only negative was we were offered a table outside. I suggest dining in. The street is really narrow and heavily trafficked. Also lots of people approach the table selling things outside. Dine inside and enjoy a fabulous meal.
google avatar

Yelp
This was one of the best meals we had in Rome. The lasagna was fantastic, the truffle pasta and the best tiramisu we had the entire trip! While more pricey than other places (as others noted) the food and atmosphere was worth it. We had an excellent bottle of wine (48 euros) and just made for a great evening.
google avatar

Yelp
Best meal we had in Rome! The truffle pasta and lasagna was absolutely amazing! We would definitely recommend this place.

Charles P.

Yelp
Delicious!! Delicious! Lovely atmosphere and Very Good Service. The Menu had a nice variety and the prices were reasonable (on the higher end for 'tourists' but worth every Euro). Definitely need Reservations. Don't just show up and expect to be seated, it's a lovely spot, and not very Big. Will definitely return!

Savanah H.

Yelp
Dilla is a great little gem in Rome. It was probably the best pasta that we had in Rome. The service was great and the restaurant was very nice and aesthetic. I had the truffle pasta which was amazing and we had a variety of appetizers including the veal meatballs. Everything was great, however it was a little bit more pricy than any of our other meals in Rome. We will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Was going to Italy for our honeymoon, wife found this spot and had to leave a $50 no show deposit. Got there and took our seat, 15 minutes before the waiter took our drink order and it was like he was doing us a favor. Asked him to take our pic and he brushed us off and said later. Finally took our order, food was very very good, the only reason the 3 star rating I think the server looked like he ate a lemon and had a sour puss look on his face all night. Would recommend the food but not so good as leaving a deposit lotsa great restaurants on the same street.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little find in Rome with excellent food and good service. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the perfect weather so I couldn't get a good feel about the interior, but it looked very quaint. My party of 4 enjoyed all our meals as well as the appetizers. With a very solid Montepulciano our dinner was wonderful!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I visited Dilla on our first night in Italy and it has remained at the top of our list throughout the trip for food. I got the truffle pasta and it was seriously the best thing I've had in Italy - a must get!! My husband got the cacio de pepe and it was really good, a staple. The environment was really cute and was in a quieter area of the city which was much needed - if you know you know. One call out is you do need to make a reservation beforehand and make sure they ask for your name when booking. We had a little issue with them not having our reservation but luckily they were accommodating. Definitely add to your list!
google avatar

Abid Z.

Yelp
We were visiting Rome and booked a reservation for 12pm on a Sunday. Service was very friendly and the restaurant had a pleasant and modern ambiance. They were kind enough to seat us by the window. As for the food we ordered the black truffle pasta and Alio e Olio. They were both phenomenal and the best pasta we had in Rose after trying several top spots on our trip.

Yelp
Dilla was the best meal that I had in Italy. There, I said it. Dinner in Rome is important (especially when you only have two nights) and you can bet that I did an extensive amount of Yelping before deciding upon the perfect place. When we checked into our hotel there was a guidebook with the owner's personal recommendations. After seeing Dilla starred I knew we'd really be in for a treat. Pasta all'amatriciana is a classic Roman dish, so of course this was a must. This dish did not disappoint. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Although this dish is typically served with bucatini I was happy to see it served with a shorter and thicker noodle. In my opinion this worked really well with the sauce. And speaking of sauce... this one was perfection. So many chunks of guanciale which is never a bad thing. Next up were the pistachio crusted meatballs. Yes, pistachio crusted meatballs are a thing and yes they were life changing. A serving comes with three plump meatballs and is the perfect addition to a pasta entree. My husband also loved his truffle pasta and finished every last drop. The decor is trendy and feels a lot more modern than most of the old school eateries that line the city streets. Prices are fair, portions are large and service was speedy. Honorable mention for the bottle of Ronchedone. Hubs and I both agreed that this was the best red wine we tried in Italy. I'm not one to snap a photo of my wine to remember for later, but this was just so good that I couldn't resist. And fairly priced to boot! When in Rome... you will be faced with an endless amount of dining options. Dilla should be high up on your list. Make a reservation online, and thank me later.

Yelp
We heard about this place from Giada deLaurentis on a special she did with Bobby Flay on Rome. We had the meatballs and they were yummy! The truffle pasta was really good too, my daughter loved it. the rest of the food we order was simple but good (caprese salad and roasted chicken). One of the best meals we had in Rome.
google avatar

Thomas A.

Yelp
Solid spot for lunch in Rome. My wife and i found this on yelp. The restaurant is located on a small side street. The place has a little cafe feel, but the taste is big. Solid pasta dishes.
google avatar

Ladia L.

Yelp
Love this place so much!! We didn't have reservations, but we arrived at 7:30pm and we got seated right away as long as we finished by 9pm! We initially ordered the truffle pasta, the spinach(?) and mussels tonnarelli, and the steak. Everything was VERY good, especially the pastas. Then when we finished all courses, we ordered another pasta for dessert. This time we asked the waiter to surprise us with any pasta dish. And it did not dissapointed, she surprised us with lamb paparadelle. Oh man, the paparadelle was chef's kiss. Amazing food and amazing service, everyone was so nice! Love that the prices are reasonable, we ate a more expensive restaurant yesterday with better reviews than this one, but we all thought this restaurant trumped that one. Will definitely come here again!!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Came here for the artichoke dish and it was amazing!! They fried an artichoke so delicately with a side of cream sauce that it didn't even really taste like artichoke anymore (for those who dislike artichokes). The pasta was amazing. Highly recommend trying the carbonara, since carbonara is one of Rome's classics. The meat dish was also amazing, featuring well seasoned Prosciutto and the cheesiest and moist mozzarella ball of all time. The highlight is definitely their artichoke though -- so swing by if you're interested in that!

Claire W.

Yelp
This was highly recommended and the food was surprisingly average. Pasta dishes undercooked. I understand Al dente, but this was undercooked. Fritto misto overly breaded and tasteless.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended so we thought we would try. It was 6:00 so an early dinner so not very crowded on a Monday night. I went in to ask if we could sit outside, there were no other patrons outside and the inside was almost empty. The blonde lady behind the register gave me this annoyed look as if I was bothering her and said "I have to see what is available " and rolled her eyes. A man came over and escorted me out and sat my husband down at a table. After a few minutes it started raining so we went inside to see if they could accommodate us, my husband being typical nice American says to the blonde "it looks like we're getting some rain" and she said "how should I know". We asked if we could eat inside and once again she said "you have to hurry up and eat we have reservations at 8:00". First of all it's 6:00pm second the inside was practically empty. Against my better judgement we stayed because it was raining really hard at this point. We ordered lasagna....I've had better lasagna from the grocery store frozen food aisle. I asked the waiter for a Pinot Grigio, he gives me the wine list. It is nothing more than a list of wine, no description whatsoever, no pricing, just names. I asked him to pick a nice white wine for me....he brings me water!!! At this point I was done with the rude attitudes and bad food. If you are an American, don't go there apparently they have something against us
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
The food here was amazing and we really enjoyed it. The pasta and crispy pork was delicious. Dishes are a little pricier than I'd thought but still okay priced - around 13-18 per dish. No service charge per person, but we did order bread for $4. Location is nice as well, close to Spanish Steps. When we got there it was fairly empty but by the time we left it was packed and people were waiting for seats. We got to sit outside, and I'm glad we got there when we did because about half an hour after we left it started pouring. Always wondered how they would fit the people who were outside all inside when it rains and is already packed.
google avatar

Lirui P.

Yelp
Ordered seafood spaghetti and mozzarella salad. Spaghetti is fine, good tomato source, fresh seafood. I would recommend to avoid mozzarella salad which is absolutely over priced. Though in general the two dishes we ordered were a bit pricy to their taste or portion. Nice staffs. Cozy ambiance. Ps. Need Covid green certificate to sit inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food and great service. They set us immediately with 4 even tho they were completely full. They pushed 2 tables together. I wish we would have got more pictures of food but we ate it too fast!
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
This was an insane meal. We showed up like 2 hours early for our reservation because we were so hungry and they were very accommodating. Excellent wine list, friendly staff. The food was our favorite in Rome!!! Truth be told I came here because Giada dines here, but now I know why. The mortadella meatballs were so unique and delicious. But we LOVED a ceviche salad we had as an appetizer that was a daily special, it had fresh jalapeños in it and pickled veggies. The fish was so fresh, I believe it was scallop ceviche. We also shared the truffle pasta which was a delight. We loved our entire experience. I wish I took more photos but we couldn't keep our hands off it long enough!

Yelp
We were at Le Labo near dinnertime and we started getting hungry. The staff at Le Labo recommended Dilla! We didn't have a reservation but the waitress asked if we would be fine sitting outside, which was not bad because it was a pretty balmy evening. Great wine menu and wow, the pasta! I can't remember which pastas we had but it was so delicious. R was surprised because he hadn't had much faith in the recommendation. Regardless, dinner here at Dilla was so amazing. Great wine selection as well!

Yelp
We loved this restaurant! I am still dreaming about their use of truffles. The staff is amazing and we loved every minute of it!

Yelp
Great food. Cool atmosphere. Excellent service. From charcuterie to the lamb, the potatoes with fennel and onion, the meatballs... forget about it. Everything was over the top great I would come back again and again.

Sebastian R.

Yelp
Very cute place. Nice decor. Went in for an early dinner. Was not really greeted by the host, she picked up the phone while we waited for someone to knowledge us. Awkward. But food was good, lots of flavor. Got the pastas also the pistachio meat balls. But they were not warm in the inside. Overall good place. I recommend.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The veal meatballs and pasta alla carbonara were delicious. Add a brunello and you are set. We went because Giada went.
google avatar

Clive W.

Yelp
Great place, great night here, even last minute. Felt very at home, warm and friendly, great wait staff. Had a variety of entrees in our group, everyone raved about them all. Fair prices, on the side streets near Spanish steps. It will be on my list for next trip, for sure. Good wines , fair as well. Worth coming, make a reservation.

Yelp
Had high hopes of this restaurant after seeing an episode of Bobby & Giada in Italy from the Food Network. Made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and directed to a nice table. The food took a long time to arrive, but that wasn't a problem. We ordered the Arrabiatta and Cacio & Pepe pastas which were both slightly undercooked. I appreciate al dente pasta, but their pasta has a slight crunch, tolerable but not what I would expect from a restaurant in Italy. Our melon and cheese salad was good and fresh. The reason for the one-star review is because when our entrees arrived, my son's medium-rare Filet was severely overcooked(well done). When we asked for it to be remade, our waiter removed the plate and told us it will be remade. Our waiter also forgot to order my other son's steak and he apologized and said he would bring both steaks out together, which wasn't a problem, mistake happen. After about 10 minutes the two steaks were brought out to my sons. To our disappointment, when they both cut into their steaks, they were raw. Not rare, but raw in the middle. My son steak (that our waiter originally forgot to order) decided to send it back as he had lost his appetite. My other son asked our waiter if he could cook his filet up to medium rare. To my surprise, our waiter said that his filet "is" medium rare. I chimed in and said "no, it is not medium rare, it is raw, can you please cook it more?" Begrudgingly, he took the steak back to be cooked more. As I stated before, mistakes happen, but there was no apology or an effort to make anything right. When the steak was brought back out, it was still undercooked, but my son ate it anyways because he was hungry after waiting over an our for his meal. When the waiter dropped off the check, he just said that they are not charging us for the steak that was returned, no apology, nothing! I also ordered glass of wine to enjoy with my meal twice and it was never brought out. Stay clear of this place, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that will show more appreciation for your business.

Yelp
Walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and was pleased they were able to seat us almost immediately. They did quote us a 10-15 minute wait when we arrived but offered us seats at the bar where we could order drinks while we waited but there was no need! We ordered the Mediterranean bruschetta and caprese salad to start and both were great. I tried the truffle fettucine and it was quite good--no shaved mushrooms like in pictures I've seen on Yelp but good flavor and texture of noodles nevertheless. We tried the crème brûlée, Panna Cotta, and tiramisu for desert and they were all amazing! We had a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon recommended by the staff with our meal and it was perfect. I really enjoyed our meal and the location is great for people watching but service was a little slow and not the most aware (one member of our party had to go up to the front and ask to pay our bill because no one ever brought it to us). This seems to be a cultural thing in Italy though so I would still consider this a 5 star experience.

Tracey O.

Yelp
Favorite meal in Rome. We came twice. Once with our daughter and then we brought our son. Each time we tried different items, the standouts to me were the veal meatballs. A must! The tiramisu dessert. And the burger is very popular too. Surprising for an Italian restaurant whose pastas are also standouts in their own right. The white truffle fettuccini was amazing. We are New Yorkers with bi-coastal business, so we have been to many of the finest restaurants between LA & NYC, however when you find a quaint neighborhood gem that doesn't compete with the tourist spots that have been around forever, you cancel your other reservation and go back again. The ambiance, the waitstaff and the charm of this restaurant is exactly what you expect from Rome, however it is rare to find these days with so much going commercial for the mass tourists. Lastly i did not mention that in addition to the wines, they make great cocktails too, order a Paloma you won't be disappointed. Dilla will be my top recco for all my friends traveling to Rome and for my travel agents clients. We must leave Rome tomorrow, but i still haven't decided if i cancel my reservation for later in the week when I'm back to come a third time. It is hard to get an early reservation for indoors so book in advance.

C A.

Yelp
I don't like the forced 10% service fee that was added to my bill without notice just because I am a tourist (American). Food was mostly good, service fine, menu prices are high. There are many scummy tourist trap restaurants in Rome. Dilla was a respite but now the added charges. Won't be back.

Yelp
5 stars for my favorite meal in Rome. There. I've done the impossible. I have picked a favorite meal from what seems to be an endless selection of fantastic meals to choose from. Now, let's get to the details, shall we? Rookie move - I arrived at prime dinner time without a reservation. No problem! I was seated at a small table by the door that happened to be available. (Do not take a chance - make a reservation as I watched every other hopeful diner get turned away.) Despite a full dining room, service was attentive, but not aggressive, and the food was delivered to the table at a pace that felt just right. I started the meal with a Jerusalem artichoke and... it was incredible. Having never eaten an artichoke prepared this way, I was in awe and savored each cheese-laden bite. I couldn't decide between the veal cutlet and the ravioli, so I got both. This was a solid choice and I stand by it. Both entrees were incredibly fresh and well-prepared. For dessert, I had an espresso and a beautiful dessert that I cannot remember the name of... I blame the bliss. This was my last dinner in Rome and I'm so thankful - nothing else would have topped it.

Yelp
If i can, I would rate Dilla as 3 1/2 stars. Dilla was one of the restaurants that was recommended by our hotel since it was only a ten minute walk away. We stopped by one evening, without reservations, and were able to get seated. The place is pretty small, with a few tables outside. We ended up ordering: Risotto with fried artichokes: nicely cooked rice, with crispy artichokes on top Cacio e pepi with shrimp and tomatoes: I like regular cacio e pepi more, but the shrimp was cooked well Sea bass: not my favorite dish as the bass was a little fishy Next time, I will just stick with the risotto and pasta dishes. Overall, Dilla is a good choice for decent food that is close to the Spanish Steps.
