We have just had a fantastic meal at La Rocca. Tucked slightly off the beaten track, the terrace has an unbeatable view of the hills behind Assisi.
The two of us shared the antipasto and bruschette — both excellent and incredible value. The antipasto came with beautiful prosciutto and pancetta, local bread and a plate of spinach-like greens. The bruschette were varied and delicious; the artichoke was our favourite — so fresh.
We then shared two primi: the ragù bianco and the sausage/porcini/truffle pasta. Both were full of flavour and very generous portions.
Service was professional, warm and polite. Even though the kitchen had closed at 2, we never felt rushed. When we went in to pay, we realised we were the last ones there and the lights were already off, yet our waiter was still so kind and insisted we had nothing to apologise for.
We will definitely be back in a couple of weeks!
