Restaurant La Rocca

Wonderful dinner on the terrace. Great staff, amazing views, delicious food and big portions.

Our group enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Eve meal here. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all outstanding!

We have just had a fantastic meal at La Rocca. Tucked slightly off the beaten track, the terrace has an unbeatable view of the hills behind Assisi. The two of us shared the antipasto and bruschette — both excellent and incredible value. The antipasto came with beautiful prosciutto and pancetta, local bread and a plate of spinach-like greens. The bruschette were varied and delicious; the artichoke was our favourite — so fresh. We then shared two primi: the ragù bianco and the sausage/porcini/truffle pasta. Both were full of flavour and very generous portions. Service was professional, warm and polite. Even though the kitchen had closed at 2, we never felt rushed. When we went in to pay, we realised we were the last ones there and the lights were already off, yet our waiter was still so kind and insisted we had nothing to apologise for. We will definitely be back in a couple of weeks!

Dinner with a view. Good wine and atmosphere. The portions were big and very tasty. The duck breast was very good and I recommend it. Panna Cotta was refreshing and so good.

The food was excellent and the portions were very good. The prices were right for the amount of food. We paid €52 for two starters, two pasta dishes, a really large salad, two sweets, wine and water. Staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you are in Assisi.

Great place to have local food with a great view

What a rare find! The walk up there was well worth it... away from the noisy touristy places in town... this was very special. We had a sunny terrace all to ourselves with a bit of a breeze and spectacular view. The food was fresh, local and delicious. For dessert: homemade "semifreddo al pistacchio" ... che bontà! If I come back to Assisi I will definitely return here.
