A Guide to Venice’s Islands, From Burano to Lido | Condé Nast Traveler

"For a memorable meal on Giudecca, I recommend not skipping a sunset dinner at I Figli delle Stelle to enjoy the island's slower pace and waterfront ambiance." - Jenn Rice

I love this place so much. It’s quite simple, but most dishes are very tasty! Scampi pasta is delicious❤️and I was fed here many times when all the other places were closed🙏🏼 and the sunset with you is perfect, of course!

This location and this restaurant is very much recommended for the tourist to Venice. We lived in Airbnb upstairs and ate everyday in this restaurant. Food and drink and service are all perfect and value for money. Special recommend the seafood plate and beef as well as wine. Good location and view to st.marco just on the other side with only one station by water bus. Definitely the best choice in Venice

Google
Very lovely sit down spot to eat right along the waterline, allowed us to watch the sunset as we drank wine and ate great food. I would recommend ordering a pasta over a pizza. The pizza was good but not the best you can find in Venice. The lobster pasta was fantastic. Absolutely would come back!

Best seafood linguine I’ve had! Lots of seafood and good variety. Plump mussels and flavourful squid/ octopus, cockles and prawns. Ate there during sunset and can’t imagine a more pleasant experience! Wonderful. Went back to try their mixed grilled fish and also enjoyed!

Great Food, good prices and great views. Just ate lunch here and had a great experience all around. They have a lot of options from meat, seafood, salads pastas, vegetables and pizza. Great views across the water of St. Marks and that area. Very close to the water taxi number 2 route. I might come here again for dinner. Prices are very good for such a tourist destination and I would consider this more of a local restaurant than a touristy one even though the area is touristy.

This place is absolutely wonderful. It is located on the quiet island of Giudecca, away from the busy main island, allowing you to enjoy your meal in peace. The food is excellent, and the seafood ingredients are incredibly fresh. The staff are also very friendly. And the view—it’s simply breathtaking.

I had an amazing dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. The ambience was perfect, looking axross the St Marco Square.Cozy yet elegant atmosphere that made our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to visit again!"

Google
Absolutely the best restaurant experience during our 4-day trip to Venice! The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable — even rearranging outdoor tables to match our seating preference, which we truly appreciated. We ordered pizza, pasta, tiramisu, and wine — and every single item was outstanding! Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re looking for delicious food and genuine hospitality in Venice. Will definitely return on our next visit!

Yelp
I Figli Delle Stelle (Children of the Stars) is an Italian restaurant located in Venice, Italy. It is specifically located on Giudecca Island, which is separated from the Main Island of Venice, or "Centro Storio" (Old Town), by the Giudecca Canal. The name "Giudecca" may represent a corruption of the Latin "Judaica" and may be translated as the "Jewry" (Jewish Ghetto), but there is no evidence of Jews ever having lived on this island. Jews historically lived in the Cannaregio district of the Main Island and that area is still known as the Jewish Ghetto to this day. Today Giudecca Island is a quiet residential area of largely working-class housing. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Venetian dishes such as seafood appetizers, pasta, meat dishes, seafood dishes, and pizza. My wife and I visited I Figli Delle Stelle during our honeymoon in Italy in July 2018. Venice was the first city we visited on our trip. On our first day in the breathtaking city, we took a water bus tour of the Grand Canal before taking another water bus to nearby Giudecca Island. We decided to stop at I Figli Delle Stelle for dinner after hearing about them in the Rick Steves' Italy Guidebook. We asked to be seated outside right by the water. We first ordered a delicious bottle of local red wine to share. Since Venice is renowned for their fresh seafood dishes, we both decided to order seafood. We started out with the "Antipasto Veneziano" (Venetian Appetizer) which consisted of prawns, white polenta, seafood salad, etc. It really hit the spot. For our entrees, my wife ordered the "Tagliatelle All'Astice" (Lobster with Tagliatelle Pasta) and I ordered the "Seppie in Nero con Polenta" (Cuttlefish in Ink with White Polenta). Both of our dishes were absolutely delicious. To top it off, we had stunning views of the Main Island and St. Mark's Square as the sun was setting. It was a very romantic dinner on our first night in Italy.

Yelp
The food was very good, but it took a long time to arrive. The servers were very kind and patient. The view is amazing at night so you should go and get an outside seat. Note: The restaurant is very full at night so you should probably get a reservation.

Yelp
Great service, great food, great view. Loved the diavola pizza, and there were also options for my gluten-free friend. All around great!

Yelp
Great location! Food was good. Service was terrible.. The restaurant make a mistake on the order.. agreed to remove the mistake from the menu but when we got bill we were overcharged... once we pointed out mistake, they had to correct but begrudgingly fixed it. Then would not allow us to pay outside and made us walk inside to pay. Very poor service overall.

Yelp
Hey I'm a fan of this fine dining establishment on the Giudecca. The atmosphere and setting are fantastic with one of the nicest views across the canal, looking out over to San Marco's Square. The price is right for the 2 Regional cuisines they serve here, which can be delicious, and the Prosecco is always fresh cool and bubbly. If you're into beer , definitely try the Menabrea, Italian beer from Piemonte,.. it's a winner that surely hits the spot! A delightful romantic setting that's off the beaten track with good food and fine spirits!

Yelp
please don't go here. i wish i could give negative stars. truly terrible. over an hour and a half wait for our entrees. we saw the chef coughing all over our food. Two out of our three entrees were inedible-- extremely cold and gross pasta, and the "carbonara" was cold and foamy. there are plenty of delicious restaurants in venice--this is not one.

Yelp
We had lunch today at Figli. The location is great, with views of Venice and San Mark's. My wife had lunch here 2 years ago,and raved about it. There were a total of 4 in our party,we started with Aperol spritz, which was very good. We place our food orders with the waitress, and she repeated it twice to us. My wife speaks conversational Italian, and she explained how we would like the food delivered..appetizers,followed by secondi,or pasta dishes. Both of my daughters ordered salad and asked for them to be served after their pasta dishes. We went over the orders twice, and assumed all would be okay. The appetizers came, and were great octopus carpaccio and vegetable antipasti,2 minutes later my wife's swordfish entree appears, and one minute later,my pasta dish arrives !! ,My wife says to let it go. We finish our food, and then my daughters salads arrive BEFORE their pasta dish!! We then ask where are the pasta dishes, they say it's coming soon. Soon becomes 30 minutes, and during this 30 minutes,my wife waited 15 minutes for a glass of wine. Suffice it to say the service here is spotty, maybe they had an off day, don't like Americans,we were the only Americans there. It shouldn't take 2 1/2 hours for lunch.. Lastly, they charge 5.00 euro per person for bread, Cuperto as it is called in Italia.. 20 euros is outrageous ....the food was very good,I have to honest on that front, but there are other restaurants along the water as well.
