Apologies to every other restaurant in Capri, but this is THE place you want to eat lunch. Book to avoid disappointment, but definitely chance your arm on a walk in as we did. They are very accommodating. Let’s be honest, with this view you could get away with average food and service, but both food and service are wonderful. Spending time in Capri? Just come here, you won’t regret it

Amazing food ! Great views and wonderful service. The food was wow. Simple and delicious. Yummy ravioli and amazing caprese with many different kinds of tomatoes. The grilled sea bass was so tender and juicy. Also, great coffee to finish everything. What a lovely place :)

I don’t really leave reviews but….. Spent a week on the Amalfi coast and this was by far the best meal and overall experience we had at any restaurant we visited. The service, friendly kind waitstaff and food was truly 10/10. The seafood ravioli was one of the best dishes we had the entire trip. Not to mention the breathtaking view. Wish we remembered our waiters name because he was such a nice, funny guy and deserves a shoutout. If you are visiting Capri I can’t recommend this spot enough.

This is my second visit to Geranio as I visited the first time in 2018. They are consistent with the service and the food quality. The staff is super friendly. The view is astonishing. Its highly recommended if you are in Capri but make reservation as it’s always crowded.

Unfortunately we had a heavier meal earlier, so we ordered a lighter dinner here. This restaurant sits up on the side of the hill almost like a treehouse, in a very serene setting. There are outdoor covered seating areas that look very elegant but also casual in the nighttime. Our food was excellent and the service was top notch. I look forward to coming back here someday.

Cute restaurant which seems to be run by father and son? It’s cozy and off the crowded streets. The service was great but three out of 4 waiters who came to us were a bit impatient with us deciding on food, wine and finishing the starter. Food was great, especislly the Caprese with 5 types of tomatoes and the Tiramisu as desert - finally a normal non americanised portion for 10.

After wondering around we came across this place. Just up some steps and you will find this cute and beautiful restaurant overlooking the water. We had no reservations but luckily we got seated at a nice spot. The service was excellent, offered house bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. Ordered the lobster and risotto and both were great. Well flavored and good portion.

Il Geranio is a true gem. Hidden away across from the gardens (Tons of Tourists whipping out their camera to take breathtaking background of Capri). We were recommended by the concierge at the hotel we were staying at Sorrento to stop here for lunch. Great service from staff. The staff made everyone happy. Two separate couples were celebrating engagement or anniversary. This is the hottest place to have lunch/dinner. We will definitely be back the next time we travel through the Amalfi Coast. Ordered two linguine plate with clams and the sauce is to die for. We asked for extra bread to dip and finish the sauce. We like the recipe to the amazing sauce. The Caprese ravioli looked scrumptious. My friend devoured it. Mixed salad for everyone. Staff plate everything on the plate so everyone gets to share. Next time will stay for dessert and expresso. We need more time to spend on the Island of Capri.

Wonderful meal + wonderful view! What more do you need in Capri!? We went for lunch and we would absolutely go back. We ordered a light fare: grilled veggies (which included slices of pumpkin, zucchini, eggplant and peppers), grilled tuna, and gamberoni. I am normally not a tuna fan, however this tuna was superb, tender and can still taste the sea! The gamberoni is a must have for me, got 5 pieces, very generous portion! (Other places I have only gotten 3 or 4). And always get sparkling water with lemon slices. The lemons in Capri are a must get! Wonderful meal, service and view! This is one of the best in Capri.

This was an amazing experience! We had the most lovely view, the food was incredible and the service was fabulous. We went here our first night in Capri, and loved it so much that we ate there the remaining 3 nights of our stay! Giuseppe was so friendly and helpful, especially with selecting from their impressive wine collection. Even the most simple of dishes, like the spaghetti, had the most interesting and delicious flavor. The beef filet with Béarnaise sauce was also delicious. Honestly I feel like I could eat this every night.

We traveled the amalfi coast for a week and this was our favorite meal. The combination of the incredible views of the water/rocks, the family owned restaurant style, and the food made it an incredible dinner. They have the best caprese salad I've ever had and I unfortunately did not take a picture of it. It'll continue to live on in my dreams though. I got the lobster pasta which was fantastic and my boyfriend got the seafood pasta which was also very good. We topped it off with the tiramisu and the shortcake. Would go back in a heartbeat.

BEST RESTAURANT IN CAPRI! Seriously everything was amazing and beyond our expectations! The location is beautiful, I would recommend making a reservation if you want to sit outside. The service was amazing, we had such a lovely time and we weren't rushed at all. We started with their house wine which was great. Then we split four items which they sent out at all different times, allowing us to really enjoy our meal. Prices were very reasonable too! You have to try!!

A beautiful setting in Capri, felt we were in the middle of the forest. Quiet romantic setting with amazing food. The staff were friendly with very good service.

Such a ridiculously beautiful spot. Set away from the main Capri Piazzetta this restaurant is a gem. Romantic, beautiful, decencies with wonderful food and service. Roberto my server was spot on ( see all other reviews - he has worked here forever and is highly rated for service!) I had the grilled polpo (octopus ) appetizer and the spaghetti con burrata as my main. I asked for it to be prepared a little spicy (arrabiata) and the chef kindly obliged. For dolce I had sponge cake with Lemon crema- amazing Highly recommend for a lovely dinner!

I was very pleased with my dinner here. First of all, my friend and I hadn't made any reservations but the host was kind enough to give us a table at the top where we could see the famous Capri site (of the rocks). Turns out, he'd seen us walk past the restaurant a day before and remembered us. I thought that it was a very personal touch and I definitely appreciated it. It also helped that we got there at 7:30pm which is earlier than when most Europeans on the Island eat dinner. I had a mix of different fish tartares for my appetizer and an assortment of grilled fish, prawns and shrimp for my main dish. I enjoyed both of them very well. For my dessert, I had the rum cake. It tasted like they poured 2 shots of rum on my cake. That's great if you like rum :-). Between the cough syrup I had earlier to fight a cold, the glass of wine and then the rum, let's just say I was one sleepy customer - not the best combo. I would have preferred a hint of rum but like I said, if you love rum then absolutely go for it! It's a great spot to enjoy a nice dinner which is a bit on the pricey side but hey, you're in Capri- live a little!

Amazing view and delicious food and wine! The service was fabulous. They surprise us with dessert and Ed Sheeran song perfect blasting in the whole restaurant since they knew we were in our honeymoon. It was beautiful! I hope to come back soon!

Probably the very best service of any restaurant in all of our trip to Italy. Also, one of the very best views! This is a quaint absolutely lovely spot for dinner down a winding path. What a find! We had incredible appetizer of phyllo pastry mine was with seafood and husband's with sausage and zucchini flower. Get this one! So good. I initially ordered the tuna tartare which didn't suit my palate and the restaurant swiftly rectified with a new appetizer. Which I loved! For dinner my husband had the seafood pasta which was quite good. Didn't blow us away but it was tasty! I had the steak salad. I was exhausted of pasta and craving something different. Sadly this was not the place to go off the seafood and pasta path. I would prob stay away from steak here. The fish special looked incredible!!! Both tables around us ordered it. We should have too. I would most definite I try this spot again. I loved the service and then ambiance. Also a great extensive wine list. And very tasty olive oil and balsamic.

Came to Il Geranio for dinner on Wednesday night at around 815pm. There is an outdoor seating area overlooking a very scenic view, but you would have to make reservations in advance to get seated there. We walked in without a reservation and was seated inside, where there was absolutely no view at all. Their food menu is pretty extensive, lots of seafood and meat options. Their wine list is even larger than the food menu. I also realized that this is the only restaurant in Italy that I've been to that had a 15% service charge automatically included in the bill. This is listed in the last page of the food menu. We started with a bottle of Rosé. For appetizers, we shared the octopus salad and a phyllo pastry with sausage. The octopus salad was amazing. It was so tender and perfectly cooked. The phyllo pastry was a very small portion. It was tiny piece which was cut in half... not worth the 18 euros they charged for it. For entree, I got a pasta with mixed crustaceans and shellfish. It was very good and the seafood was fresh. Two of my friends ordered the linguine with spiny lobster (the special of the day), and the lobster was pretty small and the flavor wasn't all there. To end the meal, we ordered the waiter's recommendation which was a chocolate ball with raspberry sauce inside. None of us liked it. If you are in Capri and you want to make a reservation to have dinner with a beautiful view of the water, this might be the place for you (make sure you come before the sun sets). Otherwise, skip the overpriced food for a mediocre quality. We paid 220 euros (~$260 USD) for 4 entrees, 2 appetizers, 1 dessert, and a bottle of wine for a dinner with no view. Not worth it.

Good food, beautiful view. Service was great. I had tartare -and wife Caprese salad to start. I had ravioli Caprese and wife sea bass, they accommodated for a one person portion. All was delicious.

The view from Il Geranio is stunning, you get to see the Faraglioni from here! We were lucky to be able to get a table facing out but would recommend to reserve a table beforehand as it'll get quite busy. We followed the little signs from the main streets to get to the restaurant. We had the tuna tartare for appetiser. I had the Paccheri with mix seafood, consisting of clams, squids and shrimps. The portion was just right, with the freshest seafood you can find! Sauce was very flavoursome as well, not too overpowering. The staff were very attentive. Would totally recommend!

Nothing to add to the flood of positive reviews this place has already- justly- received. The wait staff are awesome, friendly, funny. The food is spot on and, if it's your thing, the wine list is to die for.

Enjoyed our last meal in Capri at Il Geranio. I was pleased that the host was able to squeeze us in for dinner...the outdoor seating was extremely bare but due to reservations arriving 1.5 hours after us, they let us eat but just let us know that we needed to leave before they arrived. (obviously they said this in a much more friendly manner than how I typed it) The food was really good but the wine took the cake...it was the best wine we had on our entire trip to Italy. Very, very good recommendation from our waiter. The pumpkin risotto was delicious!

Oh. My. Gosh. It's rare you find a restaurant where everything tastes amazing. Pasta is al dente. I ordered some homemade pasta with clams to start followed by the seafood risotto. So delicious! My husband had the clams and chicken breast for main. Tied for first place. If in Capri, come here. The service is average for Italian travels. There are servers who cater to foreigners well and a couple that didn't. Luckily with my little Italian I felt comfortable. In any case, you shouldn't miss the food or view.

Wonderful dinner with one of the best views in Capri overlooking the Faraglioni. The King Praws were fried on the lower half. They are soft and sweet and delicious. The Panna Cotta is not too sweet but a flan like texture with your choice of strawberry or chocolate topping.

My husband and I had the most amazing meal here. Roberto our server was exceptional and we had so much fun with him. Thank you Roberto! Burrata to die for and the best smoked eggplant pasta - we are dreaming of it!

Probably one of the best meals I've had in Italy. I had the de-boned fish with potatoes. Delicious, melt in your mouth fish. The view was pretty spectacular too!

Gorgeous setting inside with a view or outside. Make a reservation. Hard to get into without one. Elegant and romantic. Tiramisu was out of this world. My hubby loved his pasta di mare.

Delicious dinner in a beautiful setting. This restaurant is about an 8 minute walk from the main square, so you won't see as many tourists. The view of the rocks is amazing! Try the octopus salad, spaghetti with clams, ravioli caprese and the veal entree-- all delicious!! The only negative was that when the sun went down we started getting bitten by bugs-- so wear bug repellent if you sit outsidr and avoid that Issue!!

Incomparable view, food ok, long uphill climb to restaurant. Only real complaint is that a rude gentleman decided to ruin our meal by lighting up an offensive, smelly cigar. Management feigned concern but did nothing about it. No real desire to return.

This was our worst meal and worst service in Capri. The waiter was annoyed we didn't go with what he suggested...he was pushy to order more food...and ignored us for 90 mins after we put our order in. Our meat came out pink and fatty and we were disgusted. The seafood pastas were fishy...and the excuses stunk just as bad.

We had a wonderful meal at Il Geranio. The food was excellent. I had the best buffalo mozzarella atop my salad. The seafood risotto was exceptional, the rice was cooked to perfection. Our waiter, Roberto was very attentive and gave great recommendations. Everything about this restaurant deserves 5 stars, service, food, view and value for a restaurant of this caliber.

The food was fairly good, though the dessert was subpar. The young waiter (with facial hair) that primarily served us was excellent. What really made the experience terrible was at the end when I was given the check by the older waiter, and when he ran through the charge, he made it a point to ask how much of a tip I would like to leave. My understanding is that leaving a tip is not customary in Italy. That said, being from the US when we do have outstanding service, I will usually leave a tip in cash. Being with my wife, I felt I had no choice, as I would have looked like a cheapskate. Even though the amount was relatively small, it was the way that it was done that was in poor form. I was so bothered by this, that I reached out to them via email. The response back was tepid at best. Very disappointed in the fact that I felt squeezed by the waiter, and the fact that the management did not step up when told.

Feels tourist trappy. The hotel recommended and it felt like the classic not as good as it should be. The view is beautiful but the food just didn't live up to it. Pasta dishes were very good, but appetizer and steak dish didn't measure up.

The Geranio is so good I could've lived there the Ravioli Caprese is so good. I mean these people now what there doing. The appetizers are so small but feel so big and heavy but it isn't heavy which is weird because it was heavy but wasn't. If you loved this place like I did give me a like.

very good restaurant. quality - price incredible. the best salad and the pizzas made by hand and very good. Highly recommended to stop and eat or dine. the place is very elegant and the waiters very friendly. the views, wonderful
