Ristorante Il Profeta Firenze

All the reviews are true!! I was recommended this restaurant from a friend who had previously stayed in Florence for an extended visit. She insisted this restaurant was the absolute best the city had to offer, and my experience fully supported that assessment. The staff are extremely friendly and want to help people understand all of the options that are available. Aside from a warm welcome, they acknowledge the large menu and do their best to help the menu feel smaller by explaining each section. After ordering I was treated to a small gift from the kitchen of a cheese stuffed, fried squash blossom and a bruschetta with cheese and truffle oil topping it. It was a lovely start to the meal. I ordered two pastas just for the chance to try them both: white truffle pasta and john travolta pasta. Both of these dishes were fabulous, but to me the white truffle pasta was the star. I wanted so badly to try their tiramisu as I was told this is also a specialty here, but I had to order it to-go as I was stuffed from multiple pasta dishes. Even still, they brought me another complimentary dish for dessert before I left with my to-go tiramisu. As someone who was dining alone, I still felt very attended to as a diner and well hosted by everyone there. As I said in the beginning, all the reviews are true! Grazie Mille Il Profeta!

This restaurant was THE Best!! We ate dinner here during our 8 day trip, not once- not twice, but 3x’s and would have a 4th but forgot to make a reservation! The food is delicious, the environment is cozy and the owner and his staff make you feel so welcome! Everything we tried was Wonderful, our favorite was The John Travolta, it melts in your mouth. Our server knew to bring some bread to soak up the rest of the sauce, plates were clean afterwards 😂 We’ve told others we know going to Florence about this gem and plan on going back some day. We still talk about our time spent here often (4 months later!) Thank you to Claudio and his wonderful staff for the memories 💕

We had an unforgettable evening at Il Profeta in Florence. The food, the service, and the atmosphere all went far beyond our expectations. We ordered the mixed seafood spaghetti, the Florentine tripe, and a mixed vegetable salad — every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. To our surprise, our server Isuka thoughtfully split the seafood pasta into two plates, each portion still generous. Such a kind gesture! Even more impressive, he brought us a complimentary dish: La Bontà del Profeta, the restaurant’s most famous creation. We were told it’s also known as the “John Travolta Special,” said to be praised by the actor himself as one of the best pastas he had ever had. Whether legend or fact, it certainly lived up to the name — rich, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable. And just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any better, Isuka surprised us again with a complimentary tiramisu, the sweetest ending to a wonderful meal. Authentic Tuscan dishes, genuine hospitality, and these special touches made our dinner truly memorable. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Florence!

Literally perfect. 10/10. We got the antipasto, a ravioli with pecorino and pear, the john travolta pasta, the tagliata with rosemary and tagliata with arugula salad, tiramisu, and chocolate cake. Everything was so amazing. Best restaurant in florence.

My husband and I were told to come here and try the John Travolta ravioli(we shared an order so they split it for us in two plates❤️) because it was basically a religious experience, and it did not disappoint! Between the amazing service from our wonderful waiter and meeting the owners whose family has owned the ristorante for over 40 years, they treated us like family! The food… OH, THE FOOD! I could eat it every day! Where has this sauce been all my life?! Needless to say, if you get the opportunity to go and try the food and experience the amazing people at the Ristorante Il Profeta, just do it!!

We came across this restaurant by chance and fortunately we could still get a table outside without reservation. The food is so good. The homemade Gnocchi is excellent. We would definitely come here again on the our next visit to Florence

We found very good vegan options at this wonderful little restaurant! White beans ( Fagioli) in oil & garlic, Sautéed spinach, Bruschetta, & Pasta with Porcini mushrooms, garlic & oil! We were very impressed that the waiter substituted the homemade pasta with the gluten free pasta because he knew that there was egg in the homemade pasta. Grazie !

This is the best food I have ever eaten. Hands down, the best food in all of Italy! 🇮🇹 You will not be disappointed. The John Travolta pasta was incredible. The ambiance is lovely, like you are eating at grandma's house. The wait staff is amazing, and the owner, Claudio is a delight!
