If you’re in Como and want the real Italian experience, this restaurant is an absolute must. Hands down, it was the best food I had in all of Italy and that’s saying a lot! Every bite was full of flavor, tradition, and love. You can feel that the recipes have been passed down through generations, and every dish is made with care. What makes it even more special is that it’s owned and run by a local Italian family, and their warmth truly makes the entire experience unforgettable. The service was amazing so kind, attentive, and welcoming. You don’t just feel like a customer; you feel like a guest in their home. From the moment you sit down, to the last spoon of dessert or sip of wine, you’re wrapped in authentic Italian hospitality. It’s not just a meal it’s a memory. This is the kind of place you’ll dream about going back to. If you’re looking for that “nonna is cooking in the kitchen” type of experience with heartfelt service and unforgettable food this is it. If I could give it more stars I would give it infinity, this place deserves the world.

I dine out frequently and I have to say this was one of the finest culinary experiences I can remember. La Colombetta was an absolute smash hit from the minute we arrived, it’s located in what was once a 13th century church, but completely renovated with a modern chic vibe, all that remains of the church is some of the original ceiling graphics which remain visible. This is family owned and operated, run by three sisters and their brother, also on hand were identical twin daughters, who provided service with 5 star excellence. We were warmly greeted by one of the sisters and provided with a complimentary glass of prosecco and some very tasty thin pita chips with a drizzle of evoo. Followed by their house red wine that was fantastic. We literally wanted to order everything on the menu, but we went with some favorites. Started with the Buratta served with sweet cherry tomatoes, evoo and a balsamic glaze drizzle, very artistically presented, it was excellent, cheese was rich and creamy. For our next course we went with pasta (of course) Tagliolini with Lobster for two, and the Spinach Ravioli with Tomato Sauce and Basil, both were excellent. Then on to the Grilled Lamb chops, again excellent. As much as we wanted to order more, we were stuffed and wanted to leave room for the homemade desserts. We ordered the Crème Brûlée and Lemon & Mandarin Sorbet. I inquired what was taking a few minutes, I was told it’s not ready, we’re making it fresh. This was by far the absolute best Crème Brûlée I had ever had, right out of the oven, even the plate was still hot. Same for the Lemon Sorbet, best I’ve ever had. Everything here is freshly homemade to order. Best restaurant in Como, possibly all of Italy, if you’re there, this is a must! Dining here is like dining with your family, they make you feel right at home. You never know who you might see here, every celebrity that visited Como has dined here, I’m told it’s Clooneys favorite restaurant, De Niro, Sandler, Jagger and many others dine here. When I shared my enthusiasm over the meal, I was invited into the kitchen to meet the rest of the family, this may be the cleanest kitchen I’ve ever seen. Reservations strongly recommended. Please note, as this is an intimate spot, I limited my interior pics as not to disturb or invade the other guests. It really is very beautiful.

From the moment my wife and I stepped into Ristorante La Columbetta, we were swept into an unforgettable dining experience that stands as the finest we’ve ever had. The evening began with the festive pop of a complimentary prosecco, setting a warm, celebratory tone. The staff’s attentive, yet unobtrusive, service made us feel like honored guests, with every need anticipated and met with genuine warmth. Each dish was a masterpiece—bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and crafted with evident care. What truly astonished us was the bill, which felt remarkably reasonable for such an extraordinary experience. The owners have created a gem that delivers not just a meal, but a memory to cherish. Do yourself a favor and book a table—you won’t be disappointed.

Truly the best restaurant in Como. Such a lovely experience from start to finish. First the Beautiful art on the walls. Service was exceptional. The food was exquisite. Best pasta we have had and the most wonderful fish. Don't waste time at Gato nerro, eat here for real food and experience, you will not be disappointed!! If this were not our last night in lake como, we would come back to eat tomorrow 😋

The atmosphere was great… old house with a bit modern feel… The restaurant decor and design is beautiful. Very impressive. But stiff. The food was well cooked but a bit boring… and a bit overpriced (€40) for what we received… we ordered two different types of fish, they came with just fish filets, some chunks of potatoes, some olives with stones inside… The food was colorless. Tasted great. But you eat with your eyes first. Very little garnish and no color coordination on the plate. One really bad notice. The olives used on both courses had stones in them. That’s a big NO NO. The appetizer we ordered (Red Prawns) was fine but a bit overpriced as well (€40) for only a few prawns with asparagus…. There was a copero charge of €10 per person, most restaurants we have been to in Milan were about €3-5…. But that’s not the deal breaker because they offered us free bread and sparkling wine to start.. We planned to order and share two appetizers but we ended up ordering just one for the birthday boy.. Because they want to charge a minimum of 20% for any shared dishes.. we don’t even know what it means for“a minimum”… Would they charge 50% or 100% depending on what? We don’t know and we don’t want to know… We’ve traveled to different parts of the world and this was the first time we saw that… We always like to order 2-3 appetizers to share and taste different local cuisines… And at the end, we would also like to share a dessert…NOT EVERYBODY LIKES TO FINSIH ONE BIG DESSERT BY THEMSELVES… sweets are fat….sharing a dessert is enjoyable and very common.. Some pros of the restaurant cannot be denied: the staff were very friendly and polite… they greeted us, took our coats and saw us off at the end…

Absolutely lovely experience at Ristorante La Colombetta! We had a variety of delicious fish dishes paired with great wine. The ambiance is charming, and the sisters running the place are warm and wonderfully entertaining. Highly recommend!

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic Italian meal at La Colombetta. The food was amazing and the service was great - the sisters who run this restaurant go above and beyond to give their customers an authentic Italian experience. We will be back next time we are in Como.

This has been the most horrible experience I have ever had in como and we come often for business. The service is it really bad. No one comes to help or offer service. No one came to check on us or serve from our bottle of wine. We had to put the wine, the water and keep asking for a straw for our toddler that needed to drink water in the dinner. The food is ok - if you are not from Italy you may be fooled … but definitely not to any standard- it was really disappointing. We will never be back.

Yelp
Walking distance from the main town area, we had a pleasant meal at La Colombetta. Sitting outside at the front is nice. Expect service to be slower during the high season but if you like seafood, this is a great spot. Prices are reasonable. We had the different fish soups - it had a great broth with different seafood such as monk fish, clams, mussels and shrimps. Another highlight is the shrimp tartare, fresh and sweet!

Yelp
I can never have another plate of pasta, because I'm afraid I'll forget this flavor. I'm so glad the receptionist at my hotel recommended this place! I walked around and recognized it from the list I was given, so I decided to try it. Normally, hotels don't always give the best recommendations and I wasn't expecting much. Luckily, i was wrong. The service was great and welcoming. The food was so delicious and can easily say, this was definitely one of the best meals from my trip to Lake Como. 12/10 #leslieapproved

Yelp
Probably by second favorite meal in Italy! It was recommended by the hotel concierge and it did not disappoint. We were greeted with welcome Prosecco which is always appreciated. We let the waiter recommend what to get and it was all so good. I only grabbed a pic of my favorite pasta and the branzino. That fish melted in your mouth. May be my favorite freshly made fish (we know it was fresh because they brought it out to show us before haha) ever. Also got a bottle of wine at their recommendation and it was spot on. I believe they are Michelin recommended and they should get it (food was better then the Michelin restaurant we went to the night before). Prices are also super fair for a fancy restaurant in a fancy town compared to the NY area at least (honestly costed less than a mediocre restaurant in Hoboken).

Yelp
Absolutely amazing seafood. Both raw and cooked. Traditional Italian. Amazing service. Seemed off the path but was beyond what we expected

Yelp
Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Italy. We've been to many restaurants from Rome, Amalfi Coast, Tuscany and this is the best food. The pasta is aldente and every dish is superb. Really amazing!

Yelp
Our attempt to avoid celebrity favored spots in Como led straight into one and a Sardinian one at that. We were in como before heading to Sardinia So it was quite the coincidence. We enjoyed lovely service from the family. No doubt, it's expensive here. But the service is refined, the food is good, and the ambiance is lovely. We didn't have reservations but they are highly Recommended.

Yelp
Eh. It was ok. I paid 79 euros for: Hospitable service * but didn't help me much with the menu choices. Free glass of Proseco * Cold bread - no butter, no olive oil or balsamic Delicious ravioli * Overpriced, underwhelming cooked asparagus with 1 egg and tasteless black truffle - 30 eu Euros!!! Ugh! That's what I get... :/ - - - Soft, and at first delightful, then turned almost mushy, or underdone panne cota Free meringue - i don't like meringue unless made a certain way. I told them that I didn't like the asparagus dish. Honestly, I was forcing myself to eat it. They did nothing. Maybe if I didn't get the asparagus dish, I'd be happier . I think I fell for the oldest trick in the book... they advertised that celebrities have chosen to eat here and so I went expecting something amazing and it was ok, but had plenty of room for improvement.

Yelp
Modern, classy and charming restaurant and three sisters from Sardinia is running the place. Very friendly and attentive staffs. They serve very thin ?bread covered with olive oil which was very addicting. I ordered crudo with two oysters (amazing), raw shrimp and two different kind of raw fish and it was fantastic. I ordered half portion of seafood pasta but wish I ordered lobster salad ( a guest sat next me was having it and looked great. My hubby got pasta with black truffle which was out of world, simple but full of flavor and definitely their signature dish. And he ordered beef which was ok. Nothing special. Now the dessert was the highlight for me. OMG! Panna cotta with caramel. I'm still feeling it in my mouth. Soft, melting in your mouth, this is what "real" panna cotta should be. Definitely recommend for special night out.

Yelp
Dined here for the first time and had an incredible meal! They offer a range of meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. The food is certainly on the more expensive side, but the quality does not disappoint. Highly recommend the tagliatelle with black truffle! The staff was attentive and helpful.

Yelp
Researching on amazing places to try during our 4 days in Lake Como, we stumbled upon this George Clooney and Robert De Niro favorite. We're from LA and are regulars at Ago, so we're not too impressed with spots that celebrities like to hit. But once we saw that this place was regarded as a Michelin Plate on the Michelin Guide, we were sold. La Colombetta is a Sardinian restaurant run by three sisters. A hostess, a server, and the chef. I believe one of their husbands also serves and most likely served us as well. Let's just say, we were treated very, very well and we're now friends on Facebook. Upon walking in, we were greeted and seated immediately. A complimentary glass of prosecco is served as soon as you're seated. We went ahead and started ordering our courses the way we like: each á la cart, each a different dish, that way we can switch in between. When the plate of tagliatelle pasta with black truffles was placed in front of me, the smell instantly made my mouth water. Once I put it in my mouth, I should've won an Academy Award for best Food Porn Actress. You know how Meg Ryan did that fake orgasm scene in 'When Harry Met Sally?' My sounds were even better and I'm not even ashamed to admit it. The lamb chops were also amazing, and at the end, you're given a variety of digestifs and meringues for dessert. 3 glasses of digestifs (which Angelo kept refilling because he enjoyed speaking to us lol), a bottle of wine, and the prosecco later, and we're walking out of there with two bottles of cello to bring back to the states, lol. I witnessed other guests waiting for their check, only for them to realize they have to pay up front. That's maybe the only problem with the service/restaurant that I found, but it's not an issue worth worrying about.

Yelp
Awesome service. Sea bass and tuna with black truffles were our favorite. Sea bass probably best we have ever had. Ask your server for wine recommendation. Attire is white table cloth appropriate.

Yelp
Starters to main dishes all the things we tried were really delicious but i must mention their panna cotta! After tasting that i understood that i've never tried a proper one so far! Pasta with black truffle is one of the best as well. The best restaurant in Como.

Yelp
We decided to try La Colombetta since the reviews on trip advisor were spectacular. This was literally one block from the apartment we were renting in Lake Como, just off Piazza Mazzini. My one mistake is that I did not look to see if we had to dress up for the restaurant or make reservations. My husband and I got to the restaurant and the first thought was "this is fancy". We both had shorts on and decent top from touring around Lake Como all day. We were a little hesitant to come in because we weren't sure if we would insult the restaurant. We tried anyway and good thing we did. Since we didn't have a reservation, they were able to seat us in the cozy courtyard, which was actually perfect. Right from the beginning our server was very courteous and helpful. She poured each of us a glass of Prosecco which was complimentary. My husband and I started with the asparagus gratin, which was chopped asparagus with cheese just ever so lightly melting on top of it. It was delectable. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the cheese just gave it the rich savory texture it needed. The second course was the ravioli Bolognese. We both agree that this was by far the best ravioli we had eaten in a long time. The meat was tender and seasoned perfectly cooked in the ravioli pasta that was perfection. For our third course we had the lobster salad. I wasn't sure what to expect but what came out was amazing. Lobster cooked in a red sauce with sliced onions. The lobster was tender and not overdone and the sauce it was cooked in paired nicely with the onions. We ended with the panacotta that just melted in our mouths. We would definitely go back here again and agree that it should be on any foodie's list if they are in Como. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187835-d1021824-r290745101-La_Colombetta-Como_Lake_Como_Lombardy.html#

Yelp
Everything was amazing soup, fish pasta can't ask for anything more!! Service was great! Loved it great food recommend to anyone going to como!

Yelp
We have eaten at La Colombetta several times over the years when we visit Lago di Como. It never disappoints. The service is superb and the food delicious. We went just last week with our daughter and from the complimentary glass of Prosecco and Sardinian flat bread (carta di musica), the meals (lake fish, seafood and beef fillet) were fantastic. The tagliatelle al tartufo (black truffle) is truly something special!

Jessica P.

Yelp
Amazing food! Not to be missed when visiting Como! Lovely service, great wine selections, favorite meal in Italy by far.

Erika R.

Yelp
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. My husband and I came to Como for just one night and were worried that every restaurant would be a tourist trap. This one was mentioned in the Michelin guide so we gave it a chance and were not disappointed. All of the ingredients were super fresh and high quality. I had the artichoke pecorino salad and black truffle pasta, my husband had the octopus salad and turbot. Everything was perfect. We eat at great restaurants in New York all the time and I can't remember the last time I had such an amazing meal. I never take the trouble to review a good meal but this one was above and beyond.
