You cannot miss this place in Siena. Perfect location, very friendly staff and the food... just amazing. Atmosphere is perfect, full of people even in the middle of the week, we really enjoyed our dinner, thank you!

Great place, food was very enjoyable in flavours, not salty for once! Ordered the duck ragu, the artichoke and truffle tagliolini, and the ravioli, very happy with them all. Ended with tiramisu which was fantastic, loved the solid dark chocolate pieces scattered throughout it 😊 service lovely

La Finestra is serving great, traditional Tuscan cuisine in a slightly off-the-beaten track location that you can't help but feel works against them, albeit without them going to great lengths to create atmosphere in spite of their headwinds. We arrived to find we were one of only three occupied tables. Not surprising as we were eating relatively early (for Italy), 7.15pm. But what was immediately evident was the lack of music... it's like kryptonite for making a restaurant feel absent of ambience. We ordered and were given a bread basket that contained pre-packaged bread sticks. Not an ideal start, but luckily all was saved when the first course arrived. The caprese salad was fresh and delicious, and the wild boar charcuterie an excellent way of building appetite for the main. To follow, the cacio e pepe was a solid dish and the steak and salad fantastically cooked. The food ultimately was better than the atmosphere, and as we walked home past several buzzing restaurants we couldn't help but feel that La Finestra is a bit of an unsung hero in search of an audience.

Google
Great family owned restaurant away from the normal tourist places. We had excellent food, great service all in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The wine recommended was just perfect and complimented the meal. Great experience in Siena!

Google
Food was decent. A waiter kept asking where I was from saying that one ethnicity group just left bad reviews. I don't know why the waiter had to know MY ethnicity but it made be very uncomfortable. That kind of question is unbelievably improper. Before having any bias towards your customers, do your job first.

La Finestra is a good restaurant. Reserving online worked well. The staff was very friendly and quick. We had a 2 year old who was quickly served her pasta up front. The seating space outside is very nice and equipped with misting fans to make it more pleasant. That worked rather well despite the 35+°c. There is a 2€ cover charge - which is fair in relation to the prices of the dishes and compared to other restaurants in the region. It was a bit surprising, though, that our 2 yo was charged such. One criticism would be the Parmesan which comes grated in small packages.

This is a place where you can get out of the pattern - pizza/pasta. They offer delicious cooked food and fresh salads. The service is good.

Google
Typical Italian restaurant with tissue table cloths, behind the castle on the market place of Siena, that had been recommended by our guide. We ate the tripa which was really good. The smells coming out of the kitchen made us hungry. The prices are very democratic. We recommend this restaurant warmly if you are visiting this beautiful town.

Yelp
This was kind of disappointing and seem like they were just meeting the typical standards of just normal Italian cuisine.

Yelp
We were desperate for a snack while wandering around Siena. We had a pretty difficult time finding somewhere that looked even half decent, as everything was all pretty touristy. Unfortunately we ended up at La Finestra, which was really only fair, although unless there are some hidden gems in the downtown area, it may be the best you're going to do in this section of Siena. We sat outside in the sidewalk seating area, which was sort of boxed in by hedges and table umbrellas and just far enough away that we couldn't really overlook the nearby views of the Tuscan countryside (perhaps try the restaurant nextdoor instead). The decor inside was nice, with beautiful stone arched ceilings. We ordered the house white wine, which was awful, and then promptly ordered the red, which was at least drinkable. The ribollita (Tuscan soup thickened with bread) was actually quite good. Overall, meh, but still might be better than nearby alternatives.

Yelp
A restaurant made for tourists, but with very reasonable prices. The menu has all the standard fare and some non standard such as pasta in duck sauce. Wine prices were great too. I would go back but in off hours, so there are not so many tourists.

Yelp
Wonderful Culinary Experience! What delicious meals, great service, calm, beautiful surroundings. They easily accommodated our group of eleven. The staff was very solicitous.

Yelp
I don't know the name of the dish I had but it involved pasta, artichokes, olive oil and black truffles. It was, hands down, the most delicious food I have ever eaten! I had to be restrained from licking my plate. The waiter was efficient but personable. I highly recommend La Finestra!

Yelp
A WINNER IN SIENA I have dined at the finest restaurants across the globe ( Le Maisson du Cygnet in Brussels, Cirque and about every Bobby Flay restaurant in NYC, etc. ) and find none having devoted the attention to the quality of cuisine this fine establishment pays to every dish.  The preparation of the antipasto reflected perfect curing of the meats and artful treatment of the marinated  artichoke heart.  My wife's caprese salad included the freshest basil, and the lightest, creameast mozzarella she'd ever tasted. The balsamic was moderate at best, and contained a caramel dye (which is of questionable safety for celiacs), but the salad was so good she didn't want the balsamic .  For those who don't suffer from celiac disease, the bread was not the best I've ever had, but it was not far enough below average to ding the overall rating.  The gnocchi was light, fluffy, flavorful and well-complimented by the fresh spinach with which it was prepared.  My wife's fillet was excellently seared and seasoned, the roasted potatoes were crisped on the edges to an amazing level and not at all greasy.  The sweet peppers were roasted to the point of yielding their most exquisite flavor. I would be remiss if Ididn't also note that the house red wine, a Tuscan Sangiovese, complimented the meal ideally.  Finally, the scalloped veal in tomato sauce was tender, perfectly seasoned and served piping hot (even though we were on the patio on a chilly night). Be sure to get ahead of the tours which book big blocks of tables as we noted a marked dip in the service level when they began to arrive.  Nonetheless, and in light of the outstanding kitchen work, this one is a winner in Siena !

Yelp
The owner of the B&B, where we stayed, has recommended this restaurant and in the evening we decided to go to this place. We had a table outside and we ordered a 3 course meal. The waitress didn't speak English well and was very quiet. When I ask about the wines the only word that she said was ''Chianti''. hmmmm, ok, the wine was not bad but I had better wines in Italy. The food was good. We get our orders very fast, maybe too fast, and when we started with eating the dessert, the waitress asks us for drinking coffee. I told her that we have to eat our dessert first en that we will order the coffee later. And after our dessert we wanted attention from the staff....who ignored us! Our waitress was too busy with drinking at the bar (seriously??) and the other waitress was yelling that she was too busy (note: it wasn't crowded that night). We almost asked the bill and finally we get our espresso's! But when we wanted to pay...and they ignored us again! finally one waiter was coming and he would ask our waitress for our bill....and then we waitng again, because the waitress was still busy with drinking her own booze! My boyfriend decided to go inside and tell the staff that we are waiting for a long time. A waitress was yelling that she was too busy...and when my boyfriend wanted to react she said: ''NO COMMENTS!!'' Excuses me?! I decide to come inside too and tell the staff that we are really disappointed about their reaction! Our waitress said sorry but the other waitress was yelling something bad about us and was still rude. Come on, we are always friendly and IF we complain about the service, that doesn't mean that we are blaming you! The food was 3 or 4 stars and I never give 1 star if the food is good. But the service was the MOST TERRIBLE EVER! So terrible that this dinner was like a bad B-movie.
