Ristorante La Tavolozza

We had a wonderful experience at this Italian restaurant in Vienna. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy, perfect for a nice dinner. I was there with my husband and everything was great from start to finish. We ordered a beef tartare that was so good we didn’t even have time to take a photo. As a complimentary starter, they served warm homemade bread with a delicious pesto sauce… a lovely touch. My husband had the penne with salmon and lemon, which was fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the house pizza with arugula, Parma ham, and fresh mozzarella, and it was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed two beers, perfectly cold. The restaurant is pet-friendly, the service was fast, and the food quality was excellent. Highly recommended!

The food was amazing, especially deserts are worth to try, also they have a wine cellar so wines are very quality, we also tried their coctails its good too. Maybe little bit pricy but its ok for a place like this

We came on Dec 25th to have dinner. The food was amazing, very tasteful and the portions were gigantic. The best of all, the waiter: Mustafa. He was a professional, and most important of all, he was super kind with us and the kid. He made us feel as home. Thank you for such a nice time

It is one of the best Italian restaurants in 8 district as people said. However, the quality has dropped tremendously! We went there for bro’s birthday celebration. We ordered the seafood and all the seafood are very very NOT FRESH. Once the seafood is NOT FRESH, every bite is uneatable and a torturing experience. Taste is very normal and nothing extraordinary. Pizza is also not good. I think the awards from Falstaff is a big joke and an insult for the judge ? Or the awards can be used money to buy and get promoted ?! NOT recommended !

I am only giving 3 stars but let me say that I would definitely come back. Main reason is that I had the carpaccio with chanterelles which was ok but my main dish was the tuna which was super dry and disappointing despite the nice mango sauce. Someone else had written the same and I should have remembered it before ordering. That being said my dad had the branzino fish and the kids had a bolognese pasta and everyone loved it. So I can definitely come back but never again the tuna and I will also try a different starter. But super awesome service.

We had the privilege of dinning here. Our friends told us that this restaurant has been around for almost 40 years. You would find only local residents here and no tourists unless they came with friends. An absolutely amazing dinning experience. The staff were friendly and professional. The ambience is inviting and comfortable. The food is of very high quality and delicious. The restaurant runs full daily so do make reservations.

Terrible Experience – Avoid if You're an International Visitor or Have Kids We had an awful experience here. Their card machine couldn’t process our UK bank card, and it took over 20 minutes just to try and make a payment—all while our baby was crying. Even their own card didn’t work to resolve the issue. In the end, we were forced to walk in the cold and dark with our baby just to find a cash machine. Not a single apology from the staff. They even kept the change without hesitation. Absolutely unacceptable service. If you're an international traveller or have young children, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

I really wanted to rate this place higher, because the ambiance is lovely, the servers are friendly, welcoming and funny, and they have some nice wines. But to be great, a restaurant needs to serve great food, and on the night we were there, the food fell short. It started off very promising. They brought bread with a really nice garlic & pesto oil for dipping, and the salads were really fresh with delicious dressing. However, the mains weren't so good. The saltimbocca pork was over-cooked and tough, and was over-salted. The margherita pizza was basically a cheese pizza - we were expecting at least some green basil on it, but there wasn't any to be seen - we even asked, just in case we had mistakenly gotten the wrong order. Nope. And the pizza dough was a bit undercooked. This place has such potential, and it's in the cool Josefstadt neighborhood. If they raise their game in the kitchen, they could be really great.

Had cravings for Italian food last night un Vienna and found this restaurant that opens late. The food and the service were amazing. We had: salmon carpaccio, calamari with polenta, porcini ravioli and pizza. Everything was amazing and great selection of wines!

Extremely arrogant waiters. Especially when you think of the low quality of the food. Go somewhere else will you still can!

This is a nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Vienna's 8th district. It has an elaborate menu, including a la carte dishes, as well as pizzas. The ambient is nice, the service good as well, but the food is very average. Overall, the restaurant is severly overpriced as to what it offers.

4 stars is a strong grade for me, as I reserve 5 stars for absolute excellence. The waiters are friendly and the ambiance is very relaxing. We had 4 courses and enjoyed each one. The main course of Norwegian Salmon was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant if you crave a flavorful, clean eating Italian meal.
