The very best carbonara you will ever have! The food was delicious and the service was friendly. This came recommend by our tour guide and it did not disappoint! If you are in Rome this needs to be a stop on your itinerary. 10/10

What an experience! It’s a very local restaurant and super crowded and popular. Reservations definitely needed. Seems that it’s popular with celebrities. Pasta portion is huge!! And the best carbonara I ever had. It’s so creamy. Wine was delicious! We only had pasta carbonara and cacio e pepe and we are already very full. Would love to try other dishes too. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Very traditional roman cousins in a modern "osteria" with exceptional service and a good plates. My favourites were "carciofi alla giuda, fritto alla romana, carbonara and tiramisu". The local is big with different rooms indoors and outdoors. You must get a reservation.

Wonderful dinner with a large group. We were downstairs in a private room. Amatriciana and Carbonara were both excellent as was the dessert. Service was also wonderful. One area that needs attention was the fruit flies, there were a lot of fruit flies. Otherwise wonderful meal and service.

One of my favourite restaurants. No Rome visit is complete without dinner at La Villetta dal 1940. You need to book in advance, as it can be busy.

We went to the restaurant in a group of about 10 people. Originally we had a group of 15 but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to reduce the size. They were not happy about this but did accommodate us. They didn’t do that though until the man who owned the restaurant aggressively asked us how many people were coming repeatedly. We kept telling him but he just got louder and angrier until one of his employees came over and repeated what we were saying to him. It was extremely rude. The Good: The food was fairly good and the portions were large (maybe a bit too large but they let us take stuff home in a box so it didn’t feel wasteful). The outdoor area was also decently pretty. Now for the other things that will make it so we never go again. We had initially contacted the restaurant and verified we could split the bill by what each individual bought since some people were only coming for drinks and we wanted it to be fair. Despite the fact that we had it in writing that they agreed to it, the staff refused to do it and made us split it evenly by person. We showed them the texts and they didn’t care. They didn’t realize most of us speak Italian but were only speaking English because we’re all international. We could hear the staffs rude words said to each other about us acting as if we were just ghetto instead of doing as they had said they would. I would not recommend going here at all. Even worse there were cockroaches that kept coming out of the drain in the outdoor area and running around our feet. They were about 3 inches long. We told the staff and they just shrugged saying it’s normal for this season. I’ve lived in Rome for 3 years and I have never had a restaurant have cockroaches no matter what season it is. We weren’t the only ones very freaked out. Go somewhere less over hyped in Trastevere which is one bus away.

One of the best places we ate at when in Rome. Large selection on the menu and the flavours were incredible. The only negative is how hard it was to get a table....but that tells you how good the place is. The staff were friendly and did their very best to squeeze people in. Book in advance!

Yelp
What a wonderful gastronomic experience . We were greeted by the owner Daniel, and escorted to our table. As we mulled over the options on the menu, we were glad to that we had reservations, as the chic restaurant started to fill. Daniel offered suggestions for a great bottle of red wine. There was always a server near by, to bring bread, take away plates, pour water, and refill glasses. The pasta Carbonara with black truffles was the highlight. Followed only slightly behind with a braised rolled beef in tomato sauce with farm fresh vegetables. We watched tables near by get served with huge portions and tantalizing aromas. The service was fast but in a very relaxed manner. Excellent food, better service...I highly recommend.

Yelp
Thankful the waitstaff encouraged the management to allow us to come in 5minutes before the kitchen closed. The service was average but we ended up with another server with no explanation. The squash flower appetizer was tasty. Ravioli with cacio e Pepe was the best dish at the table. All the other pastas were raw -not cooked Al dente- as expected. We didn't bother sending it back. It was also the most expensive meal we had. It was a reasonable price compared to American standards. We came hungry, left hungry and cooked our food once back at the house. The ambiance is nice but it won't get a repeat from me.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was great! We had the carbonara, amatriciano, and tiramisu (all AMAZING). It was our favorite meal of our entire vacation! Recommend getting a reservation, especially for a weekend.

Yelp
While walking aimlessly along the Via della Piramide Sestia, I happend upon this restaurant almost at capacity. I was able to get a table outside and the wonderful Martina took care of all of my gastronomical needs. She is incredibly knowledgeable, wonderfully urbane and professional. I started off with the carciofi in the Jewish style. Then I ordered the Trippa alla Romana and finished off the meal with the filleto Danese. This meal, while not cheap by Roman standards, would be priceless in my hometown of Philadelphia. While eating, I was transmogrified into an 8 year old boy at Christmas. Every morsel went off like an explosion in my mouth Phenomenal! I cant wait to go back there in November. Finally, the place has an amazing buzz outside and inside. Grazie di cuore! Forza Roma

Yelp
Really great traditional Roman cuisine. We got a cheese and prosciutto sampler, with artichokes alla Romana & Judea. We also shared pasta al cacio & pepe and ala matriciana. Serving sizes are very abundant and great for sharing. Service was good too. My only tip is call for a reservation because this place is always packed - don't use the online reservations, we had a problem with ours but the host was able to find us a table.

Yelp
Average. Came highly recommended but my family and I weren't impressed. We've had better in Rome. Service was OK. Three of our dinners came and we waited 10 minutes for the fourth, which was a simple cacio e Pepe. Had to ask for the wine list.

Yelp
Good Italian restaurant and they gave two tv's so we could watch football tonight! I ordered a pasta and the portion was pretty big but it tasted so good. Also I ordered a Coca Cola and wanted a straw but they didn't have it so one of the waiters went to a nearby pub to get me a straw. Waiters were very friendly!
