Located at the edge of the port of portofino makes it location very unique, facing the port and the castle on the mountain and maintain it is quietness and calmness. Food was very good and really prepared with attention to the details. Staff are very professional and really nice. They speaks Arabic if it is your concerns. Best time we visited was 8:30 pm and witnessed the sunset. Try their Lobster salad and fresh ravioli. Recommended for all time and it is family friendly and accessible to the water (only 2 meter)

Very romantic place. Me and my husband came here for a gateway holiday and we wanted to treat ourselves with a fancier dinner than usual. It was truly delicious especially the fish ravioli 😍 I ordered mixed seafood spaghetti and it was very nice, but I would recommend the chefs to add a bit of extra sauce as it was a bit dry, but it was really nice anyways. The ravioli was ordered by my husband and when I tried a bite, my mouth completely melted, it was so good and creamy and just had perfect balance of taste. I ordered the lemon cake and i really loved it as well! Staff is fast, kind and friendly. I recommend this place!

After three weeks of dining across Italy—and a full week spent sampling every restaurant in Portofino—Lo Stella truly shines. Their fish ravioli is hands-down the best pasta dish I’ve had on my entire trip. The delicate, handmade pasta and beautifully balanced seafood filling were elevated by a sauce that harmonized every element. Every bite was unforgettable. The ambiance at Lo Stella was charming and the service felt warm and genuine. If you make it to Portofino, this restaurant isn’t just a stop—it’s a destination. Don’t miss it!

Fantastic customer service made the experience for me. Excellent tasty spaghetti alle vongole at the server’s recommendation. Phenomenal view. Everywhere else turned me away because the Italian service industry generally can’t fathom it is in fact possible to have two seatings on one table in one day. These fine folks were very welcoming and accommodating. Downside is that yes of course it’s very expensive. But you’re in Portofino and the tiny town’s modern existence is for tourists and cruise shippers. This is the reality at any restaurant along the water. For me, Highly recommend. Just look at the lunch view!

This is a wonderful family-run restaurant for generations. My family and I have been coming here since I was born, and it was every time perfect! Here's a photo of the sea bream I ate last night, it was simply awesome.

Delightful restaurant in Portofino. Perfect for dinner and lunch. A great selection of meals for dinner. The fish ravioli was spectacular. Service was prompt, professional and had great characters. The location is perfect, with a great view of the harbour.

Italian Rivera > Portofino, Italy. Given that I consider Portofino my home away from home, the family consented to dine in this exceptional ancient fishing village. We chose “Ristorante Stella,” an established Ligurian restaurant specializing in seafood, pasta, and desserts, which features a harbor-view terrace perfect for sunset. The family selected the following menu items: Seasonal Mixed Salad, Italian bread with butter, Spaghetti with clams, Homemade pasta with Bolognese, and Grilled Scampi. The selection of drinks consisted of bottled water, a Godfather cocktail (with bourbon & vodka), Le Volte dell’Ornellaia Toscana red wine, and champagne. Both the menu and the service exceeded expectations.

You need a reservation! We got lucky came right when they opened and squeezed in before their first reservation. Service is very good. Food was very salty. Not sure why the food in play is so salty. Maybe to preserve the food? Started with mussels and prosciutto and melon. Not were very good. The broth was salty. Next we ordered the tagliatelle special with octopus. Was very good flavor and pasta was perfectly cooked but again very salty. Overall ok. Best thing was the view.

Great food great location great ambiance great service right on the harbor. Great truffle pasta dish huge shaved portions. This restaurant is one of the best and decent price. Can't ask for more.

Since 1850 Ristorante Stella has been serving customers in Portofino. Given the competitive upscale market, surviving in Portofino for seven years is a testimony to good food and service. Surviving for 172 years (Italy has only been unified for 150 years) is an amazing feat. Sitting right on the water in Portofino harbor, Stella has a perfect location and seafood to match. You cannot go wrong at Ristorante Stella.

Food is ok. There were 3 of us. They messed up our order. We ordered soup, spaghetti, and 2 fish of the day. The dishes were repeated by the waiter after we placed our order. At the end we only got 1 fish off the day. We didn't have time to wait for another order to be made (20 minutes). I only ordered the fish (other dishes were for my 2 friends) for my lunch. I never got my food and had eat half my friend's fish. I left still feeling hungry.

Terribly rude waiters. Furthermore, the dish arrived really late and has terrible taste. I was with my family and waiter yelling to us near the other guest. They provide extremely slow and inconsistent service. Furthermore, the wifi was down.

Absolutely amazing food. My partner hates pasta and he loved the fish ravioli. The grilled shrimp was great and so were the mussels. Make sure to arrive before they open and stand outside. Otherwise, it will be booked full for people with reservations.

Spectacular views, service, and food! The people that worked here were beyond friendly and helped me understand the bus system and were happy to answer any questions. I had bolognese- simple and delicious! I wanted to come back and get it a second time. The views are definitely out of this world. I would love to go back right now!!!

We took a train then local bus up from the Cinque Terra, and had lunch for six. The food, drinks, service, atmosphere, and views were over the top incredible! Wonderful service, excellent antipasti dishes, mussels, caprese salad. We enjoyed a Ligurian Vermentino wine throughout the meal. The mains were shrimp scampi, fried mixed seafood, and Ligurian style lasagna. We will look in Denver, Colorado next visit there to try their other restaurant

We had an amazing dining experience! The food was very good and the service was great! We stopped at this port on a cruise. We were excited to have a long stay so that we were able to dine off the ship. Nothing is better than local and this place will not disappoint!!

The location of this restaurant is probably what is most attractive, right on the water with a beautiful view of all the boats. We were seated almost immediately with a delicious basket of bread. We started with mozzarella and tomato and that was delicious, no complaints. Both my husband and I ordered the linguine with clams and both orders the clams were "dirty" there was sand, shell particles in almost every single one of my bites. My husband powered through It but It wasn't that good It was worth breaking a tooth over so I didn't have more than 5 bites. They restaurant was really accommodating and took my dish off the menu. I'm sure other dishes are delicious but for the linguine with clams 1/5 stars.

Beware of this place. Food is alright. Waiter offered us drinks. My boyfriend wanted beer. I asked for a glass of white wine. Waiter said he would pick me out a good one and when we got the bill the GLASS of wine was 50 euros.

If you want great food, service, and ambience this is the place to be. Their food is delicious, especially their tiramisu. Mmm!!!

The service was excellent. Very friendly and the waiter took his tome to explain the menu to us. The food was tasty, yummy and delicious. Desert (tiramisu & lemon cake) was good. I will recommend this restaurant. Preferably, make a reservation before coming. We didn't have a reservation and had to wait about 10mins for a table to become available before we were seated down. Beautiful atmosphere facing the water.

The most amazing mussels I've ever had. Service was excellent. (Never let a glass empty, and their selections/opinions were honest without overselling) the food was...wow. Like absolutely amazing. Go here, you will not be disappointed.

Ordered the Fish Ravioli and House Red (Chianti). Food and service were exceptional. The perfect view is icing on the cake.

What a wonderful experience. Drove to Portofino from Milan for the day, definitely worth the trip. The staff was very accommodating to tourists, meal was high quality pleasurable experience.

From the beautiful designed centerpieces at each table - each a little work of art - to the lovely music in the background, from the signature Stella dishes (delicious) down to the liqueur-infused sugar served with the coffee, not one detail is overlooked in making this an incredible experience. You must dine here if you are in Portofino!

Amazing food ! Tiramisu and spaghetti a la vongole are spectacular ! The view is very beautiful and the breeze is wonderful !

Great food. The steak, tuna tartar, linguini a la vongole, bresaola al pesto were all amazing! Dinner with a fantastic view of the port.

Off season in PortofinoStella. Most restaurants closed for the season. We found Stella and were very pleased. Right on the harbor front. High prices but worth it. Nice friendly staff.
