This is a peach of a restaurant tucked away on a smaller street leading to the old market square. We, a party of five had a lingering lunch while resting our feet from a mornings worth of walking. The fish dishes were exceptionally good, particularly the cod and sea bass. We also enjoyed two pasta dishes, one with eggplant the other sausage. Table wine was very smooth and the bread was very fresh and crispy, reminding me of the Italian bread I enjoyed in my youth in CT. Service was excellent, English was no problem. Prices were very reasonable and noise level was relatively low. Get to the restaurant early, the kitchen opens at 12:30 and getting there before one is a good plan. By 1:30 the restaurant is full, at least on the Sunday we were there. Overall this is a recommended restaurant, getting four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale ( five stars on the Google scale).

A good restaurant in a very touristy town. I noticed that many of the tour guides brought their groups here. I can understand why the food was quite good. Very enjoyable.

Had dinner here today! Food was fresh and tastes great :) Servers were nice, pleasant and professional. You need to locate the place properly, their entrance is not on the main street directly, so you need play a bit of seek and yah shall find.

We ate here last night - treat yourself to a real find, hidden away in beautiful Erice. Location was magical, food was great and the waiters friendly and attentive. It’s worth it just for the entranceway, in through a wrought iron gate to a series of little stone courtyards and staircases and the sense of discovering something special. A beautiful spot.

We had a simple dinner: shared aubergine starter, then seabass with spinach for me and swordfish with pistachio pesto for my partner. We shared a side dish of grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious. We had a bottle of excellent white wine, and mineral water as well. We shared cassata for dessert, and followed up with a glass of Amaro each. The surroundings were relaxed and quiet, and the service was excellent. The total bill was just over €90, and I think it was terrific value. If you're in Erice, I have no hesitation in recommending Monte San Giuliano if you want lunch or dinner.

The restaurant is located in the context of the village of Erice, which I recommend reaching by cable car, after purchasing tickets online, in order to skip the ever-present queue, especially in the summer. I strongly advise against reaching Erice by car. Once you reach the main street and have made the traditional stop at the Grammatico pastry shop, after passing it on the left, there are some stairs that lead down, at the end of which, moving to the left, you inevitably end up in the restaurant. The room is large and spacious and the staff, in addition to being efficient, is also very helpful. The dishes I tasted were well packaged, tasty. The service was fast. I also took a quarter of a liter of white wine and half a sparkling mineral water, and a flute of Donnafugata passito. This is a restaurant where you eat well and I recommend it if you go to Erice.

One of the best meals we had in Sicily, both our pasta and fish were great. Tiramisu was amazing, best I had until now.

Yelp
Excellent renditions of Sicilian dishes in a stunning location, with great views from some tables and a completely charming atmosphere. One of the best Normas we had in Sicily this trip, and certainly well worth the hike to Erice!

Yelp
The sunset of Eriche is one of the most beautiful in the world, they say. After having spent an evening in Ristorante Monte San Guiliano in Eriche, I totally agree. The food you are presented to comes close. Excellent. Lamb with pistachio; the best I've been served. And that was even before sunset. When darkness followed the sorbetto limone lightened up and melted everything down to a beautiful experience, 700 meters above sea level. Can´t wait to get back...

Yelp
A really good restaurant in the charming old town of Erice. We stumbled on the place when looking for a bite to eat at lunchtime and subsequently found it mentioned in the Michelin guide to the area. It serves traditional dishes from the area and Sicily in general but on the evidence of what we ate they have been given a refreshing interpretation. I ate simply - salad followed by sardines with spaghetti but the dishes were delicious, well prepared, flavours were great and seasoning was spot on. Some of our party had carpaccio of beef to start and reported it excellent while all the main courses were reported to be excellent. The drinks were well priced but as I was driving I didn't sample the wine so I can't really report on it. The service was good, friendly and efficient, the atmosphere good - busy but not crowded - and the building was charming. It is everything I look for in a restaurant and I recommend it - try it next time you visit this part of Sicily.

Yelp
Great restaurant....efficient, pleasant, beautiful entrance/dining room, and good food. The seafood antipasti, primi and secondi piatti are terrific. We ate simply, only 2 courses each after a long day of eating. Typical of these places, the tourists are out of there by 9 and the locals start coming in at 9. We were seated at 9:30, mostly well-heeled Italian families, which is a good sign. Don't be fooled by the directional signs in the streets and the plainly printed menu...you'll eat well here.

Yelp
Cosy restaurant, nice view and amazing food! Get the appetizers: involtini di melanzane alla pastorella (stuffed aubergines, eggplants) or the delizie di affumicati all'arancia... no comment! I reccomend the pasta dishes and/or the fish (meat good nothing so special as the fish). Have fun!
