Best dining in a long time where things are kept simple yet delicious and a la Italiana service is fun, light and entertaining!! Family run from 3 generations back as usual the man at the till is the grandson of Nino!! 🥰Super fun and must try!! 🙏 me later…Oh and best tiramisu w a coffee but if you want an infusion then ask for a chamomile or you get an English breakfast tea or a pure green tea, at 10:00pm!? 😵‍💫😂

Google
Service - disaster, waiter took a bottle of olive oil straight after we used it, without asking, so I had to call waiter to get it back, 3 times I asked waiter to bring lemon for the tea, in the end they brought literally quarters of lemon. Food was bad, it not only didn’t look good, especially, for the above average price, but the taste… fried artichokes was extremely dry, brain was overcooked, and boar stew was too dry, they didn’t evaporate wine from the sauce, so there was a strong taste of alcohol. We barely touched the food and tried to tell waiter what is wrong, he started expressively explaining why it is amazing and supposed to be like that, not even listening to me. Will never ever come again

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation and the staff were all very friendly. I started off with the artichoke and it was delicious! Then mains, had the Ravioli which was creamy and tasty. I would totally recommend this place!

Nino's, a gem near the Spanish Steps in Rome, continues to set the standard for hospitality, blending architectural charm with a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects four generations of family tradition. At just 23, Carlo Guarnacci is not only a family ambassador but also a beacon of enthusiasm and genuine connection, making every guest feel at home. As he balances his engineering studies with entrepreneurial ambitions, it's clear the Guarnacci legacy is in capable hands. With a menu that reads like a love letter to Rome – artichokes, grilled sweet squids, tender lamb chops, and more – and a wine list that complements each dish perfectly, every visit is a culinary journey. And the desserts? Seasonal strawberries with ice cream are a must. With 26 visits under my belt, I'm eagerly planning my next trip from New York City. #Nino #global #guests #differentiator #enthusiasm #emotionally #engineering #student #entreprenuerial #Guarnacci

Google
Not great service, it was mediocre. Food was served in small plates, I ordered the roasted lamb with potatoes. The lamb pieces were small and mostly fatty. See photos for reference. Also, they served wine in a water glass? I’ve eaten more food and better priced food at a hole in wall restaurant the other night. Don’t come here if you’re on a budget, eat all the bread they bring out because they charge you without asking if you want the bread.

Google
How I adore Rome! and the restaurant NiNo has always been the personification of delight. Always smiling staff, ready at any moment to fulfill any wish of the client. Alas... not today. Maybe tired or something, but not the same service, at all. Although the food is delicious! I highly recommend I forgot to say, 15 years ago:))) here were the most delicious profiteroles in all of Italy, now it's not the same

Google
Nino restaurant in Rome, supposedly a well-known and recommended place… What a disappointment. We were seated in a very noisy room full of large groups. When we asked to change tables, our request was refused, even though two other couples were moved without issue. We had to ask three times for the wine list, which finally arrived after our starters were already served. Only one wine was available, of poor quality, and it was served in a water glass… Unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point. The manager and the waiter were dishonest and showed a complete lack of professionalism. In short: a pretentious and poorly managed place that clearly doesn’t deserve its reputation. I strongly do not recommend it.

Google
Highly recommend this gem! Bit more fancy in terms of white tablecloth, quality service but absolutely worth the money here. Every single dish we had was great - artichoke, vegetable soup, ossobucco and zucchini flowers and tiramisu were fantastic. Duck ragu pasta I expected a bit more meaty with sauce but was more drier pasta with minced meat. Even the bread basket with the olive oil and house red was spectacular. At first when we got here around 8pm, it was hard to get service as they were super busy. However once things eased up, servers were so friendly and joked along with us, even gave us free biscuits and chocolate, gave me a serving spoon with my tiramisu as a joke, and gave us a "zero zero calorie" drink 😂. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
The food is average; all four of our meals were cold, bland, and delivered at different times. The service was worse. There were multiple mistakes made, including a forgotten side, a forgotten bottle of white wine, and a large overcharge for another bottle of wine. None of the four of us think the $45 wine overcharge was a mistake, given the general disrespect we were shown. There are many great restaurants in Rome and I would do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

Yelp
Worst experience in Rome. Restaurant was highly recommended by our tour guide. Waited 2 nights for reservations hoping for a wonderful last night. Staff was inattentive completely ignoring us. We made reservations arrived on time were seated and barely a glance. All the other Italian guests were priority. Our food came out cold and looked nothing like the table next to us. Never came back to check on us we ordered a bottle of white and a bottle of red only brought red and then charged us $80 for a $35 wine when questioned they said oh hit wrong button. Asked for check never came back with it had to go to host. Again food was terrible worst meal in Rome. Do not recommend

Yelp
English: The food was really bad, to the point of being inedible. The service was poor and not courteous, and the prices were extremely expensive. Definitely not worth going there. We tried it because it's close to home and we wanted to give it a chance. Terrible experience!!! Italian: Il cibo era davvero pessimo, al punto da essere immangiabile. Il servizio era scadente e poco cortese, e i prezzi erano estremamente alti. Assolutamente sconsigliato! Abbiamo provato perché è vicino a casa e volevamo dare una possibilità. Esperienza terribile!!!

Yelp
Great food and service with nice ambience. Dario the head waiter is fantastic. The place makes you feel at home if you can get as good a food at home at home. I could eat there every night and be happy.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at Nino's on our trip to Rome. We had dinner on two nights and it was delicious! Our waiter was great on both occasions. The atmosphere made us feel like we were in an Italian family restaurant. Very convenient and close to our boutique Looking forward to coming back to Rome and dining there again.

Yelp
Had delicious dinner and some negronis, really enjoyed the atmosphere and fresh ingridients. The staff was nice and made conversation even while beign busy. I had the black truffle pasta and it was very good.

Ana A.

Yelp
Terrible service - I cannot tell you about the food because we did not get that far - we left without eating. We had reservations for 7:30pm. We walked for over 20 minutes while it was raining. We arrived early at 7:10pm. Since they were not open until 7:30pm we sat at the outside tables since it had umbrella for cover while raining. At 7:20pm a man came out and very rudely told us to get out that are reservations were not until 7:30pm that they needed to setup the tables. We immediately got up and left. They demonstrate terrible manners - no customer centric skills whatsoever.

Yelp
Excellent Italian restaurant with an old school vibe. Classics with good ingredients, executed well made for a memorable evening

Rich S.

Yelp
seated with tourists in the back room hot and crowded seems locals get the front room food is average service is rude there are better places than this like Tullio

A M.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect traditional Italian experience. Blocks from the Spanish Steps. No trip to Rome is complete without a meal there. I always get the cannelloni. Last time I was by myself and all the staff made me feel most welcome.

Yelp
We had high hopes for Nino but I left pretty disappointed. The waitstaff was brusk and unfriendly. I know the style in Italy is to allow you to be unrushed and left to enjoy, but we were basically forgotten without attention to the empty drinks we would have liked refilled. The pasta was fine, but our chicken dish was just a thin breast with a glob of cheese on top. No nuance or flavor. With so much ambiance and delicious food that Rome has to offer, I would definitely skip this restaurant. I'm honestly upset we wasted a meal here. Also, not listed on the website but good to know, the dining room is no shorts. We saw a few people turned away even though they looked nice and had reservations.

Yelp
ZERO stars actually... NEGATIVE stars is being generous. This is THE worst restaurant!!! Totally obnoxious & rude servers (who forget that you are the guests & NOT them)!!! Food is ok at best- Please don't waste a night here- go grab a slice of pizza instead. As a New Yorker, I have eaten in the finest restaurants & this staff is beyond y attentive & dismissive. Stay as far away as possible!!!

Yelp
We had a great experience at Nino as an American family of nine with some young children. My mother in law remembered eating at Nino some twenty years ago and really wished to go back with all of us. I was hesitant but found that my fears were unfounded. Our waiter Ezio made everything very easy. I found only after reading through the menu that my husband had the English menu, but I had an entirely Italian one, and everything looked amazing. Things I actually ate: calamari fritti, bufala mozzarella as caprese, carciofi fritti, risotto with radicchio, and veal with balsamic-- everything tasted delicious and that was the consensus of our table. We all had dessert and coffee. I would also say the house red and house white were both very good and I enjoyed both. So happy this lived up to my MiL's memories.

Yelp
Believe all the bad reviews and do not waste your time going here. It was our last night in Rome and we were very excited about dining at an authentic Italian restaurant in a beautiful part of the city. The restaurant opens at 7:30 and we were the first couple to arrive for our reservation. We had read some great reviews about the food but some negative ones about the service. We never got to experience the food, however, because the service was so bad. Except for bringing us a bottle of wine that we ordered, the waiter ignored us for almost 30 minutes while parties that arrived much later than us were ordering their dinner and enjoying starters. We told the waiter that we were ready to order but he proceeded to serve others and then disappeared for 10 minutes. The dining room is not large so we could see everything based on where we were seated. We had a bad feeling that the night would continue in the same way, so we asked the host for the check and paid for a bottle of wine that we barely touched. I cannot recommend this place to Americans or other visitors to Italy but locals and regulars seemed to be getting special attention at the expense of everyone else.

Yelp
Great restaurant in Roma. Near pizza di Spagna. ( Spanish steps). The food was great. Excellent service. We ordered the risotto, the porcini side antipasto, and dessert. They are very strict in the dress code. No short.

Yelp
It was ok. The food was okay. The ambiance was pretty cool. Kind of an "Old Italy" kind of vibe. Definitely not the best food I've had in Italy, not even the best I've had in Rome. The wait Staff was pretty average. And my wife's Tuscan chicken was pretty disgusting. We didn't have any of the issues with seating etc as we had our concierge make reservations. But I did see a few people get turned away. So if you do go, get reservations. But I'd suggest trying elsewhere.

Yelp
Service was not good. Not friendly at all. Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about at all. Gorgeous interior, but I wouldn't waste your time

Yelp
Delicious and wonderful memories from 17 years ago when I last dined here. Wonderful wine selection and very traditional Italian food. Worth dinning here!
google avatar

Toni K.

Yelp
Get grilled squid, veggie soup and Jon Dory. Truffle pasta was much better at Tullio and the steak was okay. Okay service, value, ambience. Not good enough for 5 stars but good enough to not give less than 4 stars.

Yelp
Delicious experience, the service was great and the location is fantastic. The cannoli, artichoke & tiramisu are a must try!
google avatar

Yelp
A must stop in Rome. Pasta dishes are wonderful. The penne arrabbiata is delicious. Service is prompt. Roman atmosphere with a lively crowd makes this one of my favorite places to have dinner in the eternal city. Don't skip dessert. Great wine list.

Yelp
We had a very bad experience in Nino. Waitors are extremely rude. Ordered Spaghetti with clams. 50% of the clams were empty. Stay away!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Had good expectations for Nino but can't believe how anyone has ever enjoyed this place. Walked in without a reservation and the greeter wouldn't even let us walk in the front door until he saw if there was a table available. Staff rude. I know I'm American and we have cultural differences but to treat guests poorly instead of accommodating them is a shame. Ossobucco was tender but lacked taste and wasn't even hot. Looked like banquet food. Never again would give half a star if I could.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Very good. Close to the spanish steps. Down a little side street. Veal chop was crazy good.will go again when back in Rome

Yelp
This is our 5th day in Italy, first day here in Rome and Nino's is the best restaurant we have been to so far! Made reservations for the end of our trip to have for our last meal here in this amazing city! Our waiter Dario was beyond fantastic, very helpful with suggesting what to order and even helped with pronunciation on some of our meals. This restaurant is one of the 10 oldest here in Rome and I can see why it has stayed open this long! Cannot recommend enough!!!

thomas O.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here. Staff was very professional and the prices were very reasonable considering the taste and quality of the food. The €30 bottle of red wine was very tasty and complimented the pasta perfectly. Highly recommend Nino.

Yelp
Rome, day 1. So we have been here less than 12 hours and I'm in lust and love with this city. The architecture is just mind bending, the people so lovely and so down to earth and the food...well the food is an entirely other planet. I've been blogging and posting pictures of food I've consumed for years - and it's mostly been in vein. Total amature hour until Tonite. Tonite, at a little place next to the Spanish steps - I had the meal of my life. Ninos presented a meal that literally had me eating in slow motion since I didn't want it to ever end. EVER! What was it? First course?...Tuscan salami, Buffala Mozzarella, olive oil so amazing I asked for a straw, Artichokes that were so off the wall I don't have the vocabulary, a smoked swordfish that was just terrific - followed by a broth with tortellini that had a cheese and egg within it - and to finish off the mains, a farfadelle with cheese and black truffles. BLACK TRUFFLES. I mean, I had to eat it in stop motion animation because I was afraid of missing moments of pure and perfect joy in a bowl of pasta. Desert really sucked. NOT! Chocolate Gelato, a cup of pure hot chocolate and profiteroles with the hot chocolate poured over them that was just an experience in sex on a plate. It took all of my strength not to turn into Meg Ryan in Katz 's Deli. This is just insanity.

Yelp
Lousy service, bad atmosphere, only average food! If you are snobby and looking to spend alot money, go here, otherwise there is much better places in Rome! I have been looking for a good Restaurant in Rome to dine out with my mum on a summer weekend trip and celebrate my professional promotion. So, both of us dressed well, only I wore white short pants as it was hot outside. They did not want us to enter although we had made a reservation and had not been given a remark about the dress code. We were finally allowed to enter, but treated like rubbish. We had a table in the back room, there was almost no space between tables, servants had a hard time to serve the food. Else I could not find anything positive about the atmosphere, opposed to what we had in a simple, but great restaurant the day before when we sat outside and enjoyed Rome's atmosphere. The food was very expensive, although I really could not tell why. Again, the our meals the day before were much more tasty and well served then in this restaurant. Finally, the servants were rather rude, they ignored us for quite some time, it took long to be served, they didn't appreciate the tip and generally gave us looks as if we did not deserve to sit there. Next to us, quite simple foreigners (no offence) were sitting, with a woman hardly wearing anything, but that seemed to be less important than my fine short pants. It is a pity we have not spent our time and money in a nicer, more welcoming restaurant. I would really recommend to not go here!

Yelp
My favorite out of all the restaurants this entire week. Every dish was excellent ! From the swordfish with tomatoes and capers to the black truffle pasta to the zucchini pie special. Unreal. A must in Rome

Velina L.

Yelp
Every ten years my family comes to Rome and every ten years, we go to Nino for dinner. The food is relatively simple and authentically Italian and I still remember, almost 20 years ago, the first time I had the canelloni alla Nino. My family loved it so much we ended up ordering two more. Their artichoke is big, tender but not mushy, and pretty amazing. My mom couldn't help but order a second helping, even after ordering a three course meal. The beef cooked with butter and sage was amazing, as was the tartufo we had for dessert, basically a giant chocolate truffle with ice cream in the middle. I will be coming back in another ten years during my next visit to Rome!

Yelp
We had dinner here on our honeymoon. The food was very good even though we were getting sick of eating pasta and bread every night. We were recommended to come here, sat down, looked at the menu and thought "ok - more of the same." However, we had a truly great meal! The eggplant parmigiana was the best we've had so far, and I LOVED the homemade ravioli. My wife loved her mushroom pasta dish as well and we left very happy. The waiter seemed a little annoyed at us because it took us a few minutes to decide what we wanted. He came to us twice very quickly but we weren't ready - and then it seemed like he left us for a really long time once we were ready, but I'd say it was our own fault. The decor here reminded me of some of my favorite, 100 year old Italian restaurants in New York that are owned and operated by Italian immigrants, so it felt like home but in an even more authentic way.

Rnc -.

Yelp
This is always a go-to place when in Rome. We ordered calamari fritti to start and they were perfectly fried and crispy. The pasta with black truffles was exactly as it should be. The waiters could be a little friendlier but I guess you can't have everything!
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
My favorite meal in Roma. We've been told by a knowledgeable source that it was Ingrid Bergman's favorite. The bean soup is classic. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, so had a special profiteroles for dolce. If you can't get into Nino, I'm concerned you're not getting in tune with Rome.
google avatar

Alicia J.

Yelp
Just had dinner here... We made reservations and showed up exactly on time. They made us wait standing up in the middle of the entire restaurant when there were two tables available. We were the only Americans there and they were snobby and rude. After about 6 or 8 minutes they agreed to seat us. The food was expensive and just ok. We felt unwelcome. Maybe lunch is better...
google avatar

Yelp
Great artichoke, delicious pasta and INSANE dessert called monte bianco (tell them I sent u to order it)
google avatar

Keith G.

Yelp
Close to our hotel so in one week we ate there twice. Get a steak! The pasta was blah. (I know right) truffles were great. Great appetizers but the desert didn't steal me. Nice family styled place, feels Italian.

William C.

Yelp
Food was okay, but the service was so bad it simply made the meal Impossible to enjoy. We went without wine for the last 40 minutes of our meal. Can't stress enough just how terrible the service was.

Kelly P.

Yelp
Yummy, yummy, yummy. Had bean soup, and linguini with clams, delicious! We also ordered ravioli's, tuna and beans, and dessert. One of our best meals in Italy, and that is saying a lot. And loved the old school atmosphere!!! Definite recommend

Yelp
Good place to eat, I ordered the brain dish it's quite large and fried, I did not expect it to be fired. I could have only eaten just one piece. When I ordered this, my daughter asked me " is it human brain?" LOL...

Dan B.

Yelp
Over priced, pasta not great, they put bread on the table without being asked for it and then they charge you for the bread. Waiters have an aloof additude. Would not recommend or go back.

J H.

Yelp
Close to our hotel (near Spanish steps), excellent service and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend
