An experience that left a bittersweet taste. After reading all the great reviews about this place we had to give it a go. Family run restaurant tacked away from the city centre offering lovely views across the Island and authentic Italian cuisine. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter. Manu is only in Italian so our waiter offered help with translation. Service was prompted and our starter arrived in no time at all. We quickly realized why our food came so fast. It looked and smelled like it was a leftover from a day before. Fried vegetables were cold and soggy probably microwaved, the selection of hams far from what we were expecting, even the decorations didn’t look fresh, the salad on which it was served was soggy with dry and dark edges around. We were later told you were not suppose to eat the salad so it doesn’t matter if it’s fresh or not. The only highlight was the bread that came with the starter and the wine. We sent the food back and asked for our mains. At this point we didn’t think this can get any worst but the mains were a disappointment too. Pasta dishes were dry, with no flavor to it and the whole thing looked very unappetizing in fact tasted like it was made using old ingredients. We didn’t eat anything. I have never had worst food served before. We asked for the bill which was presented by what appeared to be the owner with no apology and with the full amount on it. We challenge the bill and explained our disappointment. This didn’t go down well as the owner got very angry. I must say it was his attitude that has ruined the whole experience for us. We left hungry and angry. I don’t recommend this place to anybody as you will have to go out of your way to get there for less then mediocre food. Poor attempt in cooking what should be a taste of authentic Italian cuisine.
