My luck continues with amazing food on the Amalfi coast - we actually didn't do much research when we forced ourselves upon this gem. The hillside of Ravello was a bit chilly once the sun is down so we picked a decent looking restaurant (that we can sit inside) right next to the main Piazza in Ravello. It is very close to the entrance of villa Rufolo.
I am not sure how Italians eat their three course meals and yet manage to maintain their figures - I have been doing only starter plus primiti (starch) or secondi (protein) I have not yet managed the whole trio because, well, I needed to save room for dessert... So I started with a calamari carpaccio, not exactly sure how they congealed the calamari together and then shaved them to these thin delicious lemony and olive oily slices - the point is they are amazingly delicious, it comes with some greens so it was a great starter. Oh wait - while we were waiting for our food, there were complimentary blood orange mimosa and fried zucchini flower with ricotta cheese and ham stuffed inside. Mimosa was refreshing, the fried zucchini flower must be in season because it was awesome! For my entry I ordered lamb - of course they didn't ask how I liked it, because the chef only does it the right way! And let me tell you, it is probably the bestest lamb I have ever had! So tender and juicy, just the right amount fat with perfect seasoning - completely eliminates the gaminess of the meat! I ordered a glass of house red - had no idea what it was except it was delicious and perfect with the lamb, I will probably go again and figure out what it is tonight ;).. The lamb came with some delicious baked potatoes, again perfectly seasoned and I finished it all despite my attempt to try to cut down the carbs! My friends had pizzas, the artichoke one was really good - the portion is big too, so we had some pizza leftover for breakfast...too full to test desserts...
