Our dinner at Ristoteca dai Tosi was really really great! Making a reservation was super easy, and the place itself was really lovely. The team is welcoming and super nice, and the food was a delight! We had the shrimp flan, the bruschetta, the octopus and the orecchiette and really it was all delicious. The setting itself is also very nice and quite romantic :)

A real hidden gem in Sassi di Matera where you can eat in an ancient water cistern. Great food, great host, elegant service.

Well worth the effort of getting here. A relatively new owner (three years, from Venice ;-) who has created an authentic experience both in terms of local food and well appointed “cave interiors”. Good and fair value.

Great food, insane environment. The pork’s umami is so intense it can wake me up from a coma.

Stunningly beautiful cistern cave with many rooms, amazing finishes and a great wine cellar. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Hugo spritz tasted of simple syrup, not sambuco at all. Mushroom flan was rich and flavorful, but could have used a texture or other accenting garnish - it was lost in itself too much. Chickpea fritters were unpleasantly moist inside with a forgettable sauce - skip these. Meat rolls with sausage stuffing were fantastic, as was the peperonata. Cold baccala with cruschi was an interesting and mostly successful blend of color, flavor, and texture. Would definitely return to try more!

We enjoyed the food so much we went again the next day. Not typical Italian menu. Excellent sausage pasta, breadballs in tomato sugo, interesting and fresh salads, best pear and ricotta cake. Greco DOC white wine superb. Staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend *****
