We ate here for dinner our first night in AZ 10/22. This restaurant is located inside of the JW Marriott Camelback Inn. We didn’t make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us (table for 3) with no issues. We sat outside and the view of Camelback Mountain is just beautiful. The food was delicious too! So flavorful and cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to go back and eat here next time I visit Scottsdale. Oh yeah we were celebrating my friend’s 40th and I told my waiter that off to the side and he brought us a delicious slice of cake with a candle :)

Very good quality food, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Happy hour has sliders that I highly recommend. The chicken quesadilla was great too from regular menu! The service was nice and staff are friendly.

The experience was far below expectations — especially for a JW Marriott restaurant. The food quality was poor, the chef’s attitude was terrible, the dining area was unclean, and the restaurant was clearly short-staffed. I honestly couldn’t believe I was dining at a JW Marriott. When I called the day before to make a reservation, I was told that the buffet was served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so we booked for 10:30. On Sunday, we arrived at 10:40. There was only one host at the front desk, and since she was on the phone with another guest, we waited about five minutes to be seated. During that time, she completely ignored us — no greeting, no acknowledgment, not even eye contact. That set the tone for the rest of the meal: the entire staff, including the chefs, gave off an “I don’t care” attitude. The restaurant was less than a quarter full, yet the floor had crumbs and bits of food scattered around, and the tables still had bread pieces from previous guests. Some of the buffet trays were already empty, and no one was refilling them. Since this was supposed to be a buffet, I expected the food to be replenished — but it never was. We had to go directly to the only chef on duty to ask for food, but he looked upset, expressionless, and indifferent. I even saw him scrape food waste off the grill into a trash can, and when some missed and fell onto the floor, he simply ignored it. When I asked if there were gluten-free waffles, the chef said yes but that I had to order through my server. Finding a server was another challenge. When I finally found ours and asked for a gluten-free waffle, she told me to ask the chef. After I explained that the chef had told me to ask her, she reluctantly placed the order. When the waffle finally arrived, I wanted some honey, but again, I couldn’t find any server. I could only reach our server about once every ten minutes. During the meal, two or three flies kept hovering around our table, occasionally landing on our food. I had to keep waving them away while trying to flag down a server. My two kids stopped eating after just a few bites. We were all still hungry but just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Even paying the bill took forever because we couldn’t find anyone to help. There seemed to be only one host, one server taking orders, and two people delivering food. None of them worked as a team. No one cleared dishes, cleaned tables, or swept up the food on the floor. Several empty tables were littered with bread crumbs, fruit pieces, and other leftovers — especially under tables where families with small children had been seated. From the time we arrived until the time we left, no one ever cleaned the floors. Ten years ago, when my wife and I lived in Phoenix, we often went to JW Marriott’s Rita’s Kitchen for their legendary Sunday brunch buffet. We loved the relaxing atmosphere, endless champagne, crab legs, seafood, carved prime rib, made-to-order crepes, omelets, waffles, fresh fruit, and strawberry chocolate fondue. We have many wonderful memories from those visits. Now, ten years later, we returned to Arizona and were so excited to bring our kids to experience the same Sunday brunch we had always talked about. We even called on Saturday to confirm that Rita’s Kitchen still had a Sunday brunch buffet. The person on the phone enthusiastically said yes — that the “Sunday brunch and buffet” were back — so we made a reservation immediately and drove an hour the next morning. But what a shock. Maybe there was a misunderstanding — perhaps the “buffet” she mentioned was just a breakfast buffet, and the “Sunday brunch” was something else entirely. Still, if the buffet ended at 10:30 or 11:00, when I arrived at 10:45 and told the host that we weren’t hotel guests but wanted to pay $41 per person for the buffet, shouldn’t she at least have informed me that the buffet was already over? Although I already felt unwelcome when we entered the restaurant, I still naïvely believed in the JW Marriott brand. This visit was completely disappointing.

We had a great lunch at Rita’s. Location is obviously perfect if you’re staying onsite. Prices are a bit high for the portions but the flavors were there and the setting is nice. Our server was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our meal.

Rita’s was a great experience! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were not disappointed! They sat us right in front of the water fountain where the live music was, and it was beautiful. The music wasn’t overpowering at all and the musician was so good! We shared the chips and guac trio and both got the waygu burger and agreed it’s one of the best burgers we’ve ever had. The cheesecake was also incredible. Food was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect! We definitely plan to come back.

Perfect food every time. It's absolutely perfect. Excellent service. Ambiance and scenery second to none.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is fantastic and the margaritas are the best. But what makes this plc outstanding is the service. Every server makes you feel special. One in particular remains etched in my memory- his name is Jon (esquivel if i heard him rt!) It felt like he really wanted me to enjoy the evening, and not just take my order. Its the little things i said in passing like an outside table, letting me keep the pen when iiked it.. its noticing ans hearing the little things. That level of care really made the service stand out.

Yelp
I was back at the JW marriott Camelback Inn and wanted to stay near the hotel for dinner. I remember dining at Rita's and having the most amazing queso so I ordered that as well as the three margarita flight. Last time I had the coconut, but this one included a traditional citrus margarita and a watermelon one as well. I still think that the coconut one is the best. The chips and queso were phenomenal again. The service was great and I love sitting outside. There was a Persian wedding on the lawn and although I couldn't see it, I could hear the music and the beautiful formal dresses and suits of the attendees. The next morning, I got the strawberry pancake pancakes and they were absolutely delicious. Maybe the best pancakes I've ever eaten in my life! I also got a green juice which was delicious and I was ready to have a great day.

Yelp
We stayed at the Camelback Inn for a staycation and dined at Rita's Cantina & Bar for both breakfast and dinner during our visit. Breakfast: We had the breakfast buffet twice. It offers a good variety, including made-to-order omelets and French toast. The omelets were generous in portion size, filling, and had a wide range of ingredients to choose from. There were also the usual breakfast staples like bacon, sausage, potatoes, and other assorted items. Overall, I'd rate the taste and variety of the breakfast at 7/10. Unfortunately, the service during breakfast was lacking. On both days, we didn't receive any beverage refills, not even water. On the second day, I had to go find our server just to get a refill. For service, I'd give it a 4/10. Dinner: Our dinner experience was okay. The salmon was delicious and well-prepared, but the burger was pretty average and didn't stand out. I'd rate the dinner food at 7/10. Service was slightly better than at breakfast but still not great, again, no drink refills and very minimal interaction. Service for dinner would be around a 6/10. Overall: The food was decent, and the breakfast buffet has nice variety, but the service needs improvement, especially with attentiveness and basic things like drink refills. Given the beautiful resort setting, I expected a bit more attention to detail in the dining experience.

Yelp
Buffet Brunch in Scottsdale/ Phoenix seems to have forgotten by most establishments, but not at Camelback Inn. They set the 5 Star Standard. From the gentlemen cooking eggs to order,to the pastry cook on the station, to the culinary chef's carving prime rib & lamb chops. It's all here. Service at the tables was also top tier. The mixologist at the bar made wonderful espresso martinis I was told a new French F&B director was at the helm, god please don't change it to plated, I beg you. The food offerings were of hi quality from breads , cheese's & spreads it's all here. We come 2-3 times per year and it keeps getting better.Thank you for providing a wonderful experience. To those people looking at the price going it seems expensive, you get what pay for and the value is here . Consistently a wonderful world experience! Cheers to creating memories for ladies & gentlemen. PS it's a great place to book a family gathering under a cabana.

Yelp
We ate at Rita's twice during our stay at the Camelback Inn. We had dinner in the bar and brunch at the buffet. Both of the meals were delicious. We could not get enough of the tuna Crudo! Their salsa that they use under it was so flavorful. We will definitely be going back specifically for that dish. Their breakfast buffet was also really impressive. They had a cook, making omelettes, eggs to order, pancakes to order and massive crispy French toast to order. One of the best breakfast buffets I've seen in a hotel in a long time. The service at dinner surprise me... We had been receiving amazing service from every single person at this hotel during our stay, but our waitress at dinner was not like the others. She walked up to us and directly asked: Are you ready? No greeting. No introductions. We sat with empty drinks, the majority of our dinner and we were never asked if we wanted to refill. She was mostly on her phone behind the host stand and seemed annoyed that we were dining there. Everyone else was fantastic. Kind of surprised that she is a part of the team.

Yelp
I have been staying at a property close to the JW Camelback. I hit up the Cantina, sitting at the bar. I usually start with a Bloody Mary, which is always outstanding. I then move on to the Carne Asada Tacos, which are some of the best tacos I've ever tasted. The Bartenders I see their most often are Tim and Brendan, and they provide excellent service. If you are ever in the area, check them out!!

Yelp
The food is always good at Rita's and so is the service. I always meet a friend for lunch here but last Friday's lunch was such a disappointment. We were seated on the patio and just starting to eat when a young man came up to the table next to us - like one foot away - and started spraying and cleaning it. I made a remark about "it must be cleaning time" hoping he would get the hint and leave. He didn't. He finished his vigorous cleaning of that table and went to the table on the other side of us - also one foot away - and started cleaning. Apparently it never entered his head that he was disturbing us. He had a job to go and by gosh, he was going to do it! It's very annoying to try to eat lunch when someone is one foot away spraying and cleaning. I did not appreciate this at all and I don't understand why the manager allows cleaning right next to customers who are trying to eat!

Yelp
Rita's Did you know Scottsdale has an all-you-can-eat seafood brunch? It's called Rita's Cantina, and it's serving up unlimited shellfish and vibes like it's no big deal. Start at the cold bar, where crab claws and shrimp are chilling. Then hit the hot bar outside--because nothing says "classy chaos" like carving prime rib next to a DIY nacho station. Balance, people. And just when you think you've peaked, boom: pancake and French toast station Now, I'm usually team "French toast is just soggy bread with an ego," but Rita's version? Crispy on the outside, cloud-level fluffy on the inside--it's practically having an identity crisis and I'm here for it. Still standing? Waddle your way over to the dessert station where they make bananas foster on the spot. Live, flaming sugar theatrics--because brunch without a show is just breakfast with commitment issues. Yelp
Great spot to eat at the JW Marriott. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Menu had great variety. We ordered the guacamole, queso, and yellowtail as appetizers. All were A+ options I would recommend! Chicken enchiladas were really great! Loved the live music!

Yelp
This is a must visit in Scottsdale! The food is incredible. Can't go past a prickly pear margarita, either. Beautiful hotel, too! Take some time to walk down the corridors and look at the pictures on the wall that tell the hotel's history.

Yelp
Nice try.... This had all the making to be a lovely Father's Day brunch but... Not only was it super warm in there they said the air/ electricity had went out. It was 112 degrees today and they had some staff serving stations outside that's just cruel. We were making plates and sweating. Much of the food was sitting and needed to be replaced and also refilled. The omelet station with pancakes was cook to order so that was great. Our seats were good as requested. Some meat options were overcooked such as the ribs. The mimosas were a good touch but honestly we couldn't stay long it was too warm. The thing I did not like was the 20% gratuity added on their own. I am a great tipper but I DO NOT like them choosing for me. I felt this was unnecessary. We should be able to choose how we tip it is based on service... AT LEAST GIVE MY TIP TO THOSE IN THE SUN WORKING FOOD STATIONS... We love fine dining but cost and product should make sense, this didn't.

Yelp
Fun place good service good prices That's a clean place to eat that's always important. They had a very clean bathroom so I was happy with the bathroom. Plenty of toilet paper. It's always important.

Yelp
3rd bday dinner celebration for myself here. Everything from the charred octopus, to the shrimp enchiladas (my choice) & wagyu burger (date's choice). The wagyu burger is probably one of the best burgers I've had here in the valley. Service was rocky at first as server thought I'd been helped by another. No harm, remedied quickly. Ambiance due to a live guitarist/singer was really nice. Table was front and center on the patio so wonderful view. Dog friendly and families were also in attendance with their kids. Great place to have a romantic date. Makes you feel like you're on vacation. This place is a treasure for many sweet memories to be made.

Yelp
The patio was beautiful with a lovely lady playing acoustic guitar and singing. The food was delicious and flavorful. The servers were all busy, but seemed to be a bit chaotic with the large group that was there.

Yelp
I was excited to try Rita's with a friend, but I wish we had gone somewhere else. When we arrived, almost the entire restaurant was empty, but we were told it would be about a 15 minute wait. We ended up just sitting in the bar area because there is a full service menu. We started with the chips and guac. I did appreciate that they had gluten-free chips and we're very aware of allergies. The guac was fine, but both of the salsas were really lackluster. I then got the veggie enchiladas. Honestly, it was a bowl of bland mush.partway through I asked our server for hot sauce. It never came. So I just gave up. Overall, the service was slow, and the food was really mediocre. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Yelp
The food was good, I enjoyed the taste of everything, my only issue is that my partner and I tried the Sunday Brunch buffet and while the food tasted good, there wasn't anything that I would go out of my way for, meaning nothing blew me away, it was all "standard". It was also 90$ a person and very clearly not worth that price. I don't know what I was expecting for 90$, but I didn't get it. As far as I could tell the only difference between the regular buffet and the 90$ brunch buffet is the bottomless mimosas and a dessert cart. I tried to drink as many mimosas as I could but still couldn't justify the price in the end.

Yelp
This is situated in a conference center/resort and draws large crowds around the lunch hour as a result. You can make a reservation on open table and if you are not visiting during a conference and want to eat without waiting this is what I recommend. The food itself is fine, not the best not the worst but it is on the lot expensive side relative to the quality, most likely because of a captive audience in the conference crowd. That being said, I did eat here twice during a recent conference and it was good enough. I tried the tacos, not particularly authentic and a little lacking in flavor but fine. Next time I tried the chicken burrito bowl which was better, more flavors. My friend tried the shrimp enchilada which was much better, I would eat that again if I come back.

Yelp
We really liked the food and ambience of this place! There was a man with a hawk outside, possibly to scare away birds? So that was interesting. Would visit again! I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the view.

Yelp
It was the morning before we checked out and we had made reservations at 8 AM at Rita's Cantina. My family and I were running late so I used the Marriott messaging system to push our reservation to 8:30 AM. They were really cool with it. Rita's Cantina is located on site and offers a great selection and variety of buffet options for breakfast. You can choose continental or full buffet. Of course, it will come with coffee and juice. My husband got the buffet, my son ordered the avocado toast, and my dad ordered an omelette. I just kind of poked around on peoples plates because I had to leave early for a 9 AM spa appointment. I will do that review separately. My son's avocado toast came out with raw eggs. We ended up sending it back because my son cannot eat raw eggs. They said they would remake it with scrambled and actually said we could just go to the omelette station at the buffet to have eggs made, but at that point we just wanted it to be removed from our bill, which they happily did. My Dad enjoyed his American omelette. I went into the buffet area to scope out the scene, and there was a lot of great items. As I mentioned, you can get an omelette or eggs made for you there. Lots of cereal, yogurt, fruit options. Pastries, and muffins, a toaster with bagels and bread, as well as smoked salmon, lots of cut up fruit, and breakfast meat as well. Overall, I enjoyed the dining experience. I liked the environment. You can choose to sit inside or outside and we sat inside. I thought the service was good. The prices are a little bit high being at a resort and all, especially for the buffet. I would come back here if ever back again.

Yelp
My sister, BIL and husband get together here for Sunday Brunch about 3-4 times a year. It is in a great location. Nice but casual. They don't rush you and until today had amazing time. The brunch as some say is good, but not super extensive in items. Usually there is enough variety to satisfy most. We enjoy the ability to visit with each other and get a taste of different things so we are not as concerned with the quantity The mimosas are good. The price is high but we splurge because of excellent service and ability to chill. Today, however, was meh. We came for the usual 11am start time and were seated about 5 min early. AFTER we were seated by the hostess and when our server came around, we were told that due to power outage , there was no buffet but a breakfast buffet was finishing up and would be closed at 1130 sharp. She told us that we could have regular lunch menu. One of our party chose buffet as he preferred and was looking forward to breakfast. The others chose two appetizers and then our lunch entrees The apps were good. Chicken quesadillas and a guac salsa chips combo that was good but small portions Entrees were varied. One was a burger One a vegetarian option and mine shrimp enchiladas as I had before on buffet and they were tasty. Also a side of elote off the cob. While the flavors of mine were good, they were not as good as when I have had them before. These seemed hurriedly prepared and kind of disappointing. Also $6 for a plain iced tea? WTH. No offers of mimosas or anything else. I understand the issue from night before, but this experience was underwhelming Bummed

Yelp
Great location and the staff was lovely! With the prices, I expected to be blown away, but the food was nothing to write home about. They gave indoor and outdoor dining (with heat lamps and fire pits!). The ground are absolutely stunning to walk around and enjoy.

Yelp
The food, service and ambience were all excellent. Great view, live music during our dinner outside, and even the kids enjoyed their kids meals and Mad Libs on the kids menu. (We enjoyed it too, actually.) Javi was great and we enjoyed chatting with him!

Yelp
Authentic Mexican cuisine. Tacos are fantastic, Mexican street corn was amazing and chicken tortilla soup was delicious. Sangria was a bit pricey at $15 a little different than any I've had in the past yet delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
This is your only real restaurant option on the resort. It is a bit pricey, but the food is good. We found service to be just average. I was upset to find that the bartender had signed out at shift change, and close my tab with an automatic 20% without notifying me.

Yelp
Surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant! Over 5 days we had happy hour, dinner, 3 buffet breakfasts and and 2 regular breakfasts there. Staff is friendly but slow Seating is confusing (have to be on waitlist when there are openings) Food was delicious all around Pricey but thats what you expect at a resort property Free parking onsite (valet or self park)

Yelp
I was here for a software conference but also here for the margs and guac! Just touched down in AZ and Rita's cantina is located in the beautiful JW Marriott Camelback Inn. The cantina is well lit with floor-to-ceiling windows so the natural light comes through much of the day. The decor is masculine with lots of browns and nudes to channel the natural landscape of the desert outside but yet, comforting and cozy at the same time. You can definitely relax here with your cocktail and forget for a minute that you're working. There are lots of choices on the menu that sounds really great and authentic. Perhaps will get to try them on check-out day in a couple of days. For now, just waiting until my room is ready and enjoy the rest of this strong margarita. Came back 2 days before my flight back. This time I tried the cup of chicken tortilla soup to start with which didn't fall short on flavor. I also wanted to have the Tuna Crudo but they were out of tuna so I opted for the Salmon Wrap. Balanced it all off with a nice glass of still Rosé. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Was able to work through e-mails in the cantina. They have areas within the bar with comfy sofas and group seating which is a perfect place to meet up with family or colleagues if on a business trip.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in the JW Marriott at Camelback. The setting is incredibly beautiful. My husband and I always take out of towners here for happy hour.... Until yesterday. We went for happy hour and the first thing I noticed was the happy hour menu shrunk to practically nothing. The hostess put reserved signs on every table (even though they weren't reserved, I asked), so we were the only ones seated. I was surprised because all these years it was amazing! We ordered two vodka martinis (absolute), a salad and an order of fries. 40 minutes goes by we don't see the waitress, no food, no drinks, no other tables were being served!!! Long story short the food eventually comes, the foods great, the martinis are served in gimlet glasses which is smaller than a martini glass, but whatever. I get the bill, those tiny gimlet glass martinis $24 each, on happy hour. Yeah, terrible service a BS HH menu and $24 drinks??? Why would I ever go back, or recommend this place again. Why Rita? Why did you make me write this terrible review??

Yelp
Happy hour 3-5. Food is very good, views are amazing and live music starts at 6. Service is quick and friendly.

Yelp
Poolside nachos, not bad!! I loved all of the nacho contents except for the nacho cheese, I'm not really a fan of nacho cheese! But other than that, it was quite the delicious snack.

Yelp
We are staying at the resort and have eaten the breakfast buffet. Not worth the money. We had lunch here also. We ordered the burger which was average. We asked for a side of Mayo for the burger. It took 15 for them to finally bring it to the table. We also got the chicken enchiladas. They were so bland. If you put a blindfold on and took a bite you would never guess they were chicken enchiladas. I don't even know if you would guess chicken or Mexican food. There were lots of employees hang your visiting loudly with another table. We won't be eating here again.

Yelp
came here for breakfast after our stay at the hotel. Ordered the mixed berry smoothie, a latte, breakfast quesadilla, and huevos rancheros. In all honesty the food was extremely average. Edible but left a lot to be desired considering the price and the caliber of the establishment. If I stay at the hotel again I'd probably drive off property for other food.

Yelp
Standard Resort restaurant and pricing however the margaritas are hands down the best in the valley (they are strong so beware)! I've sat on the patio and had snacks and drinks before but never a full sit-down meal inside the restaurant. We sat down for dinner on Friday night around 7:30pm and the restaurant was fairly empty. The margaritas were great as usual and we got a chicken burrito bowl, chicken corn tortilla soup, and a burger. The soup was good and the rest of the meal was nothing too special but hit the spot after a flight. The fries that came with the burger were crispy and salted well! The attendants for breakfast were always very attentive and provided quick service. I don't think you could go wrong for a meal here but don't expect to be blown away!

Yelp
This hotel and the restaurant are beautifully designed and decorated. They take reservations for groups, which is nice. Also there is really convenient self parking right out front. The appetizer of salsas, guacamole and chips was really good. It would have been nice if at least one of the salsas had been spicier because they were both mild. I ordered the ensalada Fresca and added steak for my main dish. I cannot remember the exact cost but I think it was around $28. I did think it was a bit overpriced but I guess to be expected for a hotel restaurant. Also I wasn't given the option for how I wanted the steak cooked and it came out medium-well, which was a little tougher than I like.

Yelp
Amazing buffet, with incredible service from Rita at Rita's Cantina. The food is amazing. There are some options to choose from.

Yelp
Came here for a team dinner and fell in love with the ambiance! It's got live music and a fun, festive feel to it. We were also able to make reservations for our group of eight a couple of days before, much appreciated. We got chips, guacamole, and salsa to start, and I got chicken mole for my entree. My my, how delicious and tender! I rarely enjoy chicken at restaurants, so I was surprised by how delicious it was. For dessert, I got the brownie skillet and also tried the orange flan. Definitely skip the flan, as it's not even flan... It's just yellow pound cake. However, the brownie skillet was so decadent and absolutely incredible. We had a great time. Only negative was that the service was so slow. We kept asking where the waiter was and it took such a long time to track him down and get our food. Otherwise, we had a lovely night out.

Yelp
Came for the brunch buffet and was not disappointed! It's $$$ but brings filet, shrimp, and so much more. Belgian waffles, pancakes, and omelette full of options. Make sure you save room for dessert, they were ! Great atmosphere surrounded by the beauty of the mountains.

Yelp
This is a beautiful venue! It's very large with several rooms, a cool bar and a huge outdoor area. When we went there was a conference and there was a roped off area outside where they were separated from us, It didn't feel quite crowded at all. The view is beautiful- it's on the opposite side of the hotel that has a Camelback view but it still has a nice Mountain View. The craft cocktails are on the expensive side but worth it because they are much more generous than a lot of places that serve in a small glass with lots of ice. One cocktail lasted for my whole meal. The waiter gave us several suggestions and did not steer us wrong, we had a couple of different dietary restrictions and all were accommodated. I had the roasted butternut squash skillet, and it was meant to be vegan - I added some cheese and it needed some salt in my opinion but a healthy option for many. It was very large and delicious. My dining companions liked their dishes, The only complaint I heard was that the chicken breast was actually airline which had skin and the leg on it.

Yelp
I had the Achiote chicken sandwich which had dark meat chicken that was kinda gross. There were weird pieces of chicken that I could not eat. I am used to having a chicken breast in a chicken sandwich. I wish the menu said this was dark meat. The bun was good, chicken was not. Fries were just ok.

Yelp
Be careful!! Went here for Happy Hour and asked for an ice tea and had it refilled twice. When I got my bill I saw $15 ($5x3) charges for iced tea. I called my server over to question the charge, and he said that is exactly what they do there. So I paid $15 for three glasses of iced tea!!! The server never told me each one will be charged individually at five dollars and I've never in my life heard of this before. Not going back.

Yelp
What a sour way to start the new year... We called about a week ahead of time to book my birthday brunch celebration at Rita's. We specifically asked about whether they were offering a brunch buffet on January 1. The phone rep said "yes" it was a buffet brunch that day and proceeded to book our party of 8 for 11:30am. Well, guess what? We arrive 15 minutes early for our January 1 celebration at 11:15am to enjoy the breakfast buffet and the caustic server, Dora, in full iron curtain mode, curtly tells us that the buffet closes in five minutes (i.e. at 11:30am I guess, because we arrived 15 minutes early). Completely blindsided because we booked at Rita's only *because* of that buffet, which we even asked about when we booked (the person on the phone was either not smart enough to realize the buffet closed at 11:30am after booking us at that *exact time* despite our asking about the buffet ahead of time OR, the restaurant arbitrarily decided to close it early w/o notifying customers). Caustic Dora didn't apologize, didn't even acknowledge that we had all gathered there for a birthday party... nothing. Just a sour and curt "no buffet for you" messaging while slapping down a boring lunch menu that you could basically get anywhere. Any other restaurant would've taken a moment to apologize or come up with a workaround due to the booking blunder of their staff. Nope. Nothing. So, I myself walked to the buffet, with just 5 minutes time left and I grabbed two plates and got myself everything I would've wanted had I been given the proper time to enjoy the buffet. Dora got everyone drinks but me and then ignored me when she came back to the table to get other people's orders. I had to ask her for an iced tea. Another person in our party had a problem with their cocktail (which tasted funny) and Dora apparently went into iron curtain mode with them too. No apology, no offer to "get it right", just a curt "what do you want me to do?" response. Anyway, for a $500 tab, Rita's was a thoroughly sour experience to start off 2024. As I said, the other food was the usual lunch fare, my family member had a problem with their cocktail. I was ignored by our server after asking about the buffet and taking the initiative to serve myself at the *still open* buffet at my birthday party where we were told there would be a new year's breakfast buffet for our whole party. About 1 hour into the experience, Dora was suddenly attentive and "nice" to everyone. My guess is she heard one of us complain about her being sour/caustic to us on new year's day, but after getting off on the wrong foot, it didn't erase the disappointment from our collective memory. I for one, won't be coming back. Horrible, rude service for the money, bumbling reservation staff who either royally f'd up when booking us at a time when the key feature of our family event (breakfast buffet) was actually going to be closed, or their arbitrarily decision to close it early. *Also, regarding the buffet, Dora responded to someone else in my family that the buffet doesn't stay open past 12 on Sunday, and they responded back to her, "but it's Monday." Anyway... we'll gladly take our $500 breakfast somewhere else next time. **Yes, I tried speaking to someone on site about our experience, and I waited and waited and waited and watched a manager talking to another worker about the day's receipts while I waited even longer... I finally realized no one really cared to hear the feedback and because they were waiting for me outside with the car idling, I finally left.

Yelp
We ate here (and had drinks) numerous times during our stay. I was really impressed with everything I had. For breakfast I tried the eggs Benedict, which were perfectly cooked! Very good hollandaise, perfectly cooked eggs, and fluffy English muffins. For dinner I tried the chicken burrito bowl, which was full of flavor and excellent quality ingredients. The guacamole and salsa trio for an appetizer was delicious. I also really liked the cantina margarita. Well balanced and not skimpy on flavor (or the tequila). Service was excellent across the board.

Yelp
Beautiful weather to enjoy the outside patio restaurant's Arizona has to offer. Rita's is definitely one of these spots. My friend and I haven't been here in ages. We were out for a drive on a late Sunday morning and wanting a stop for a cocktail and a snack with a view. We arrived at this location, the beautiful JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa. The restaurant is located through the lobby in the back. Nice to see following all the Covid restaurant rules: tables spread apart, paperless menu, wiping down of tables and mask wearing. The patio was open seating. We ordered Bloody Mary's and the Chip, Salsa and Guacamole Trio and spent a relaxing couple hours enjoying the weather and view. Because it was open seating, it took a bit for a server to noticed we were there, but once we got their attention all was good. Atmosphere: Beautiful Patio seating following Covid restaurant rules. Food: good. Service: good

Yelp
We were staying at the resort so we ate at Rita's for all of our stay. Our first night for dinner: The chips and salsa was different from what I'm used to . It was good and smoky! We ordered it two days in a row because they were so good. The chips are yummy, crispy and salty and even just as good the next morning. I ordered the 3 sisters enchiladas which were vegetarian. I thought I would be missing out but I wasnt. I didnt miss the meat at all! 10/10. Served in a hot skillet, I almost burned my hand. But It was decently sized and so it was even good the next day and I finished all of my leftovers. My friend ordered the burger and said it was a good but a little salty. She rated her entree a 7/10. The pear cosmo was delicious! The second my lips hit the glass, my eyes widened! 10/10, freggin' delicious and a pretty pink color. Breakfast Day #2: For breakfast, I had the ricotta pancakes and it wasn't to my personal liking. It was crunchy on the edges and had a toastier taste. I was expecting soft and fluffy and buttery like a cloud pancakes so I wasn't too keen on breakfast this day. But, I could definitely taste the lemon somewhere in there and it was great with the blue berry compote. My friend ordered the street tacos off the brunch menu. She said the meat was tender but could have been seasoned better. Nonetheless, she finished her plate. Dinner day #2: I had the salmon and lobster. Omg , THE BEST salmon I have ever had. I ordered it medium and it was perfection! The lobster tail, a small one, was very salty and buttery and delicious. Not a single crumb left on my plate. The cauliflower puree was smooth and creamy, to turn a tasteless veggie into some tasteful was surprising. My friend ordered the filet mignon and she finished it. I'm assuming it was good. She was a little out of it as she had ordered drinks for a few people sitting around us and buying drinks for everyone like she was Oprah. Dessert we ordered a "baked arizona" and was also very tasty. It had a piped toasted meringue on the outside. My favorite part was the sanguaro cactus crumb and the fruity pear center. And very pretty visually. Overall: The servers are excellent! Very attentive and personable. (Shout out to Dora, our waitress) The ambiance was great. They had a fire pit, some space heaters to keep warm, bc it was a little chilly which made it very comfortable. Both nights, they had live guitarists playing at dinner outside on the patio. The food is good! The quality is excellent! I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ingredients are so fresh. The food is delicious. For breakfast you have a choice of continental, buffet, or ala carte. The buffet is pricey at $33. The selection of ingredients to me is not worth the price. I had egg white, spinach and mushrooms omelet that was so delicious. Another time I order the eggs Benedict. It was very good. We had the ceasar salmon salad. It's very pricey unless you to happy hour. It was so delicious though. The nachos were excellent as well. Great ambience and indoor/outdoor seating with firepits outside. I had the burrito bowl for lunch. So yummy!!

Yelp
This is an unexpected review. I know 5 stars seems high for a hotel or resort restaurant but in this case there was no other option... Breakfast was included in our stay so we went to Rita's this morning where we were greeted by our server, also named Rita. Off to a good start. The menu is not overly large but there are great options. We started with the detox morning breakfast drink ... recommended by Rita ... it was really refreshing and very tasty. Highly recommend it. Now the entrees ... wife got avocado toast ... well above average. But this review is about one thing and one thing only ... Rita's chicken enchiladas ... First, I ordered with great trepidation as even though I love Mexican food, enchiladas are not typically something I enjoy or order. Then they arrived at the table. Spectacular! Once you see them you know something is different. The flavors and textures (with the brilliant addition of slaw) were mind blowing. I had to speak to the chef after tasting this incredible meal. It turns out that it is his grandmother's recipe. You can tell ... these enchiladas were not like any other I have ever had. My day, my trip, my very existence was made better by this breakfast. There is enough for three people in each serving ... so at least one person MUST order these things. You will not be disappointed. By the way, they are not spicy, which I normally like, but I did not add any heat to let the flavors come through as the chef intended. Bravo!
