This is a cute and cosy coffee shop that serves the most delicious coffee! And their breakfast bagels are so tasty as are their scones- they have limited quantities as it’s all made fresh so get there early for baked goods. And the vibe is so chill and staff are super nice. Also love that it’s open later than normal coffee shops.

Ritual Coffeehouse is a quaint little place with top quality coffees and teas. I had the vanilla latte, fresh baked in-house wild berry peach muffin. I’ve had their fresh brewed coffee and it packed a nice punch! Not bitter but pleasingly smooth and a rounded out flavor. Service is fast here and Jacob helped us get our day going nicely. They also have a variety of bagels, mini pound cakes and delicious scones. The jalapeño cheddar scones are delicious. They are baking different items everyday. They have nice seating indoors and patio seating in the back. They are open everyday til 10pm too. It’s a fun place to just relax and hangout. Once you visit, you’ll make this your own coffee and tea ritual anytime of day!

Highly Recommend: great coffee with really nice outdoor seating. Not too much seating inside. Not obviously observable from outside. Will be back.

Great Place to grab a cappuccino! Amazing coffee, staff and owner are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make your experience so amazing ! They craft quality esspresso drinks and source amazing bagels !!!!! Would come here everyday if this was near my home!!!!! They have such an awesome vibe with classic records spinning all day long.

Great secluded patio. Dogs are allowed. It is loud because of the train, if that’s a concern. Theres umbrellas in case it starts raining, which has been helpful multiple times now. Cafe is on the small side, but still nice with records available to pick out and play in the record player. Lavender latte always hits the spot. Overall great vibes, super friendly employees and good coffee!

I've been here a couple of times now. The baked goods are always delicious but sometimes unappetizing because of the occasional fly near the exposed case. The staff is friendly and the turmeric ginger honey latte is delicious Iced or hot. When I ordered a chai latte, the anise flavor was really strong and the loose-leaf tea left a lot of bits changing the texture of the beverage. Seating is limited, but when the weather is nice the garden area is lovely. It's the kind of cafe where you can sit for hours and work alongside others or meet with a group of friends.

I really loved my experience every time I come here. Staff is so inviting and generous with the space accommodations. Beverages are an A+. As someone who can be critical of coffee, They won’t disappoint you. Also love the vinyl selection and peaceful/spacious back patio. Thanks yall!

5/5 all the way!!! What a hidden gem in the Chicago area. The staff is super kind and made the best latte art while providing quick and efficient service. The pastries/baked goods looked great - we got the scone - highly recommend (pecan, cranberry, orange). The vibe was cute - plants and records provided a homey ambiance. The prices were also very decent!!

This was my favorite coffee shop of our visit! Such a cute shop and you can tell they care about serving you good coffee. Counter service was quick and we took our goodies out back to their little cute little ally/patio. The vanilla latte was smooth and perfectly sweetened. The cinnamon roll was soft and a little crispy where the cinnamon sugar mix came out of the pastry. I can definitely see why this is a neighborhood favorite.

A gem. My favorite Chicago coffee shop. Every study session takes place at Ritual. Coffee is great. I've never enjoyed their pastries but they look tasty. I wish they would just fix the front door so it doesn't get stuck all the time, lol.

This place is kind of small. It has an old time feel to it. It has a whole bunch of records and a record player that plays them. It's pretty cool. It feels like you are in back time. It's also by the train. I only had the cappuccino. It was good. Unfortunately I was unable to try any of their bakery and breakfast items because I went late at night and they were sold out. The lady who took the orders was nice. I'll need to go back during the day though so I can try their bakery/ breakfast items. There is no sign out in front, so you may miss the spot. Because, I sure did.

It was a quick visit:) I was walking home from Trader Joe's and got an urge for coffee to go from a new place. I actually walked passed place as there is no signage. Thank goodness I looked at all the yummy pics on Yelp and decided to make a U-turn. I finally noticed coffee drinkers sitting through the large tinted windows. The staff were laid back and way going. I got my iced vanilla latte quickly and I was out of there. It's a nice cozy place that has a shabby chic / art house vibe. I'll be back!

Super cute and quaint coffee shop right off the Brown line with records, great music, and nice staff. Also $10 for an iced americano and a gooood iced vanilla latte, so I'd say that's a win.

Amazing latte art! Gets very crowded quickly, even during the winter! They have strong wifi and lots of people stay a while to get some work or studying done! Very close to the Brown line Irving Park station and also has some street parking on the side streets. Love that it stays open late for those in need of a later night caffeine boost.

Love this place! I live a bit further west of Ritual so I'm there pretty often. Staff is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS super friendly. Love the cozy lighting. Drinks are amazing! Do yourself a favor and get the Vietnamese iced coffee :)

I came back and got an oatmeal raisin cookie (looks like it's made with dried cranberries) and toffee latte. Both were great, and the server was super friendly. The place was pretty full on 3 p.m. on a Wednesday.

Got a delicious, lighter roast macchiato (drop of cream style) the day I came with some fruit flavor but balanced acidity. Later got a lovely vanilla latte, creamy and perfectly balanced so the coffee shone through. Hipster vibes (record player out in the open with tons of records) and super lovely, friendly service. As a bonus, the baked goods are made *in house* and look to die for. Would love to have a place like this nearby. See you next time I'm in Chicago!

Great place! Great coffee and fresh baked bake goods. Walk in go over to the turntable pick an album drop the needle enjoy the vibe. Great owner extremely welcoming. Very low profile no name on the door or outside. Gotta dig for it. Worth the dig. ! Cheers

This small cafe with records and flyers along the walls has a nice vibe and the service is always quick and friendly. The food and coffee are pretty good, and they have a small menu of options. I'm more into breakfast sandwiches and bagels than pastries, but they do have a few selections of different cabinet items if you like that. I usually get the chai latte--it's decent, not the best I've ever had. I give it a 4/5 because my boyfriend, who loves coffee, thinks their coffee is delicious. I probably just don't appreciate it as much since I stick to the speciality drinks rather than straight espresso/coffee.

Thank God for this establishment having late hours! I was hanging by a thread on my ovn shift not desperate enough for trash DD or Starbucks so I quickly searched uber eats for latte. Thankfully I caught them 20 minutes before closing. I was so fortunate to have a fresh large cup of almond milk lavender latte delivered right to my job. Functioning much better after consuming this well crafted coffee. Will definitely reorder on those tough nights.

Awkward and serious atmosphere...it is quiet though. Don't get the matcha. Literally green milk, no matcha flavor at all.

Zero stars. I kindly requested a single espresso and was rudely denied my request. I was told they don't serve single espresso only double but I was served a single espresso just 2 days before from the same place!

A beautiful spot to relax at the end of a long day, catch up with friends over coffee, or work at. Coffee is tasty, and staff is always incredibly kind and friendly. Love the outdoor patio, it's an oasis in Chicago for me. Try to go in the warmer months to enjoy!

Good things: The patio is nice, the whole beans they sell are really good quality. The bad Things: There is an older guy that works there who is super rude, unfortunately he's probably the manager or owner. Avoid that dude. The rest of the staff is great! Also, the bathroom is always dirty, they let dogs jump on the counter (even though they make food). My Coffee got cold and I asked for a warm up and the old guy told me I needed to buy a whole new cup. dude.. how cheap can you be?!

I go to A LOT of coffee shops, across the country, and this place was one of the best...though I can only vouch for the cold brew, service, and atmosphere. Cold brew was about as good as it gets, which wasn't shocking when I saw the roaster they are using: Onyx. I don't live in Chicago, so I don't know how widely available it is there, but I have only seen it at one cafe in New York City, so that was a treat. Onyx is expensive coffee, I know, but the prices at Ritual were really low. Their larger size cold brews are a freakin' steal. I got into some chit chat with the staff and maybe even the owner and they said that is intentional. Also, I was with friends and ordered 3 cold brews 3 different ways, and she got it all right, which isn't the hardest chore, but appreciated none the less! Love the alley outdoor area in the back. Really charming, in a gritty way. Top of my list next time I am in Chicago, especially since good coffee there seems kind of hard to find in general.

Cute little cafe to catch up with a friend! We were a little disappointed there wasn't any pastries available but we loved the matcha lattes and sat in their patio space in the back.

while getting in some bowling down the street i noticed that I had a scratch in my throat, thought some tea would be a nice balm so between games I wandered down the street. such a great space. records galore, happy staff, full of folks hanging out on computers and chatting. had a nice chat about options zeroed in on a non caffeinated loose leaf tea for myself, ordered a Turmeric Latte for the lady. good stuff

When visiting Chicago over Labor Day weekend, we walked here and WOW - I had the best scone I have ever had in my entire life! I am a home baker who is very particular about my pastries, and OMG the caramel pecan scone (still warm from the oven) ... I am in awe of how good it was!! Still thinking of it almost a week later and planning to make a batch of salted caramel today in an attempt to replicate this masterpiece at home! The iced latte was excellent as well and man do I wish I lived in Chicago so I could walk to this amazing little coffee shop every day! Missing you in Boston and can't wait to visit again!

My friend and I were driving around 8 pm lookin for a coffee place at that late night time. It's very cute inside and feel like oldies in there. The music in there is calming and the vibe is there is really relaxing and chill. The barista was nice and it was kinda neat. I took some pics of what was around, such as money origami and it was kinda vibey in there Menu was adorable to me. There's a nice back seating that my friend and I didn't get a chance to go check out, but if I was doing homework, I would like to come here for if Matcha latte w/ oat milk. I didn't really taste any matcha, so I'll give it a 7.5/10 but I'm sure it was made w/ love

This is my go to stop for coffee when I'm in this neighborhood. What I like: Good coffee. Good bagels. Friendly staff. Outstanding outdoor patio. Open late (what's up with coffee shops closing at 2pm?) Good music. Prices are fair. What I think they could improve: Chairs are not very comfortable. Get new chairs. What I dislike: Bathroom needs updating.

Ritual coffe has a great selection of coffee from Intelligentsia and Metrix the day I popped by. The music selection is vinyl, and the inside is a bit tight. The nice thing is they have a beautiful hidden garden/patio to bring a tranquil moment to your coffee break. They have natural honey for sale from their own local hives. The storefront is small, so tou may miss it if you're not paying attention.

Best Mocha in the city and the prices are super reasonable. Staff is always great. Love this coffeehouse. Oh, get the cinnamon roll - so good.

Cool place. Really good drinks! My usual go to drink is a Chai latte. The barista made it so good! Sometimes it's not the right balance of flavors, but he's figured out a way to perfect it. Nice variety of music selection played. Cafe companion approves of it as well. 1of3

A neighborhood gem!! Great coffee that is very reasonably priced. Friendly staff/service and a great ambiance. Small inside but they have a nice back patio area with seating and lots of plants/shade for those warm summer days. Love that this place is open until 10pm, I never feel rushed out.

I'm not a coffee drinker, so I don't get attached to "good" coffee shops. But I can say I'm attached to Ritual, and they are a GREAT coffee shop. It's adorable and tiny and they have hundreds of records around the store. They always have one playing on an old record machine, and it's such a vibe. The staff is amazing. I'm not a regular, but the staff truly knows their regulars and it shows. They greet people by name and have their orders already made. They greet people's DOGS by name too - since the whole place is dog friendly! I've even seen them get an order through an app and say "oh yeah that's for Ethan, he likes when I make it". Finally, I can't speak to the coffee, but they have an excellent tea selection, all loose leaf and displayed in jars on the counter. I often get chai lattes and they have every kind of milk alternative - so refreshing compared to coffee shops that only have oat milk nowadays. And, their pastries are DELICIOUS. The bagels are consistently good, and they have different fresh-baked muffins and scones every day. They range from a classic blueberry to pumpkin chai or cherry stuffed chocolate or lemon cake. It's always a treat seeing what they've come up with.

Funky little place with a nice patio in back. They make great coffee. A record player plays a wide selection of vinyls. You can pick out what you want to here. There's an acoustic guitar in the corner. Feel free to play if you feel inspired. It's open till 10 pm for late evening fun.

I really like this place. It reminds me of a coffee shop I used to work at in the bay like 10 years ago. Good drinks, good vibes, and lovely staff. They're open late (10pm 7 days a week!!) and are right off the Irving Park Brown line stop. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4/5 is that for the indoor seating I wanna say only the communal tables has chairs with back support and the rest don't. Their patio has chairs with back support but of course that isn't open in the winter :-p it gets packed in there so I rarely take my chances during the daytime and tend to go here in the evenings

This is one of my best coffee shops in Chicago! Cozy place, usually crowded. The coffee is great, I love their Cortado. You can enjoy the music from old vinyl records. Very great atmosphere.

I went there to meet a friend and it truly is a hole in the wall spot. There is no sign to tell you where you are, but when you go inside, there's a really vibrant ambience. This is a great spot to study or catch up with friends. we were able to get our coffee and food pretty fast after ordering. The jalapeño goat cheese scone was delicious. Also, their cinnamon rolls were incredible. I would come back for sure.

So happy this place is walking distance from work! Such a great workspace spot to get things done while in a low key atmosphere. They have all your staples for some coffee from cold brews, lattes, and more. The staff here are so friendly and get the job done quickly. Will be coming back for more!

An excellent find while waiting for my car at a nearby mechanic. This dog-friendly coffeehouse is perfect with excellent coffee, tasty treats, and awesome records all over the store with a record player for all to use. Drink your coffee and play DJ! The staff is very friendly and the vibe is very relaxed. Highly recommended.

Came here last week and got two lattes. Great coffee and well prepared latte. Hard to find if your driving, not a big sign at the coffeehouse. I walked right by the place, only small sign on door.

My second time at Ritual but this time I ordered the Cappuccino, it was good but the last time I was there I ordered their house coffee, it was a little weak for my taste. The baristas are friendly and helpful but their bathroom could use a good cleaning, especially the toilet, they should replace the toilet seat.

I love Ritual so much. I have become somewhat of a regular. Their chai is made from scratch which I have not seen very often. Get it in a latte, iced or hot and you will not be disappointed. They also always have really unique pastries (usually available toward the beginning of the day because they sell out. I assume they make them fresh daily) that are quite tasty. They have a breakfast bagel that is huge and really good. It's a pleasant place to hang out as well. I spent an afternoon drawing with my partner on the barstools near the window and it's a memory I am fond on. Highly recommend Ritual!!

A fine coffeeshop with solid wifi, good Intelligentsia coffee, and a bright space. When we came they were a little low on food options, only having 3 donuts left in the case--two chocolate and one cinnamon sugar. My husband and I both opted for the chocolate and I got a nitro cold brew, he a cappuccino. Nitro cold brew and cap were both great. Donuts were ok. Not sure what they made them with but they left a bit of a film on my tongue. They tasted good but the mouthfeel was less than enjoyable. Comfortable space for working for a few hours and the coffee is worth coming back for again and again if you're in the area.

Surprisingly the drinks taste great! The limitation is no adjustment for less ice or sugar levels. We went on a Saturday. It wasn't Uber busy but still had a queue of people ordering drinks. Be sure to place your drinks as soon as you enter the store. It can take up to 20mins for the wait. Can't wait to come back with all the new improvements.

Their matcha latte was pretty good. They had coconut milk which I appreciated since other coffee shops I've frequented abruptly stopped carrying it. They also added honey which other coffee shops do not. I only saw bakery items in the case so don't plan on a savory breakfast. It's also cramped inside but there is an outdoor patio. Unfortunately, it's right by the Brown Line train tracks so unless you love having your conversation interrupted every 5 minutes, aim to just grab your coffee or tea to go. Another reviewer recommended the mocha so I will be back to try that!

The best cold brew ever and I've tried them all over the country. Try it you won't regret it!
