While the Ritz Hotel promotes itself as a 5-star property, I can assure you it currently falls short. The facilities and housekeeping staff certainly meet 5-star standards, and the hotel has great potential to achieve this rating. The location is outstanding. However, the service provided by the staff needs significant improvement to truly earn a 5-star reputation. During our five-day stay, most of the staff—including the front desk, doorman, and restaurant employees—were unengaged and inattentive. Upon our arrival, we were not greeted by the doorman or offered any assistance with our luggage. At breakfast, despite it being included, there were no non-dairy options available for cereal or coffee, which is quite surprising for a property claiming 5-star status in this day and age. The service in the restaurant was equally underwhelming, with no greetings and a general sense of being ignored. Additionally, at check-in, I informed the front desk staff that I intended to pay in cash. Although they had my credit card on file, they insisted on charging two nights in advance and refused to reverse the charges, which is far from the level of service one would expect from a so-called 5-star property. We rented the Presidential Suite, which, while beautifully upgraded, lacked basic 5-star amenities. There was no welcome gift, such as fresh fruit or a note from management, and no robes or slippers were provided. To top it off, only a single complimentary bottle of water was offered, with a tacky note that additional bottles would come at a charge. This felt cheap and not in line with the level of service expected from a luxury hotel. I hope this feedback helps the Ritz to improve and eventually achieve the true 5-star status they aspire to. Well, I'll be darned if this ain't the fanciest place we've ever stayed, and we're just a couple of old folks from Nebraska! Now, let me tell you about this Ritz Apart Hotel in La Paz, Bolivia. Firstly, this place sure does look like something out of a postcard! The hotel's got this grand, old-world charm, kinda like those English castles you see on TV, but with a touch of that South American flair. We were worried about being in such a big city, but the hotel's in a nice quiet neighborhood, which was a relief for us since we're used to the peace of the prairie. The rooms, oh my! They were spacious, just like our living room back home, but with these fancy kitchenettes and minibars. We've never seen such luxury – flat-screen TVs, comfy beds, and the views! You can see La Paz spread out like a quilt, all colorful and lively. But, I'll admit, figuring out all the gadgets in the room was like trying to understand our grandkids' video games. Breakfast was something else. We got this buffet that was like Thanksgiving every morning – eggs, bacon, and even some exotic fruits. Now, we've never been ones for spicy food, but they've got this Duke's Restaurant that served up some local dishes. We tried a bit here and there, but we stuck mostly to the grilled meats and pasta, which were just fine. The staff, bless their hearts, were so kind and patient with us. We probably asked a hundred questions, from how to work the TV to where the nearest church was, and they never seemed bothered. They even helped us with taxi services and gave us tips on where to go without getting lost in the city. Now, I'll say, the altitude was something we didn't expect. They gave us this coca tea, which was an adventure in itself, but it sure helped with the breathin'. One thing though, the price. It's not like back home where you can find a motel for a song. This place, it's pricey, but for what you get, well, it felt like a fair trade. All in all, this Ritz Apart Hotel was a treat for our first time abroad. It made us feel safe and pampered, which is what you want when you're stepping out of your comfort zone into another country. We might just come back to Bolivia, and if we do, you can bet your boots we'll be stayin' here again. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got some postcards to write and tell everyone back home about our grand adventure.

We stayed here for 7 nights. The location is excellent. Close to the teleféricos (cable cars) a mall, a super market, laundromat, etc. |Our room was very spacious and clean, the hotel staff were really good and always available. Felt very safe at this hotel.|The hotel has taxis that will pick you up from the airport and can take you on tours of the city. The drivers were all really good.

Don’t get fooled by the hotel’s website pictures, we booked the room 6 month ahead and this is the view you got with so called “Suite Grand Deluxe”, I wish I had booked with another hotel.

Good stay. We only stayed here one night but I loved how big the room was. It's absolutely massive. ||Looked newly re-decorated.||New bathroom. Great strong poweful shower.||Bed is massive, super comfortable. Sheets were super clean and very soft.||Didn't have breakfast as our flight was at 3am. The reception offered to give us a take away box instead.||Good exchange rate for dollars. I was pleasantly surprised about that.||I also stayed at Atix when I first arrived in La Pax. They have an amazing pool but rooms were small.||So if you're in too minds about where to stay, I'd say that Ritz has better bigger rooms (and much cheaper) and Atix has a fantastic pool. Depending on what you value most.

If it was a normal hotel I would give 5 stars but it was 5-star Ritz hotel and some small details were below Ritz standard. We needed a warm and comfortable hotel to rest, remove the dust and cure some flu after very intensive trip through Peru and Salar de Uyuni. Pros: the hotel is very clean and looks elegant. We could leave our luggage and use the bathroom at 7 am (checkin was at 2 pm so we decided to visit Puma Punku). What we are really grateful for is a big and warm bathroom with big shower and quiet ventilation (I really hate rumbling old windmills on bathrooms!). The bed was covered with perfect pillows and duvets and the whole apartment was very spacious which allowed us to unpack all staff and clean some of that (hotel has coin laundry). So in general our stay was very positive but… I have to add that we our from Europe and I’m I evaluating the Ritz hotel, as a global brand, according to European standards. 1. Despite checking in we hours in advance our luggage was not waiting in the room. It was delivered by hotel service but let on the floor and not put on a special rack. 2. We ordered two teas to our room. They were delivered already brewed in paper caps and with some tea leaves leftovers inside. The cake was also delivered in plastic container. 3. The receptionist was extremely nice and competent but his English was very stiff. When we asked how much time the taxi may need to get to the airport at 3pm it was already to complicated question. 4. The food is other story because it’s provided by Duke’s restaurant and in short words - Duke’s restaurant is a small disaster!

Great hotel just outside the busy central part of La Paz, Bolivia. Definitely one of the better hotels in LA Paz. Large comfortable rooms, it's quiet. A reasonable breakfast buffet and not too far from great restaurants and the White and light blue cable cars.

From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we all felt very welcome and comfortable at this fine hotel. ||We came back three times, between our travels to Tupiza and Coroico, and were allowed to leave our leftover luggage in their storage. ||The rooms are great. We had a two bedroom apartment for 4 people. With a lounge area and a small kitchenette. ||The bathroom is modern and functional. Nice hot showers any time of the day. ||Cleaning was spotless. Matresses and pillows were the most comfortable on our entire journey around Bolivia. ||Breakfast buffet was plentiful. ||The gym was also great - in the nearby mall. ||Perhaps the only thing missing, is a roof terrace or a small garden, where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. ||The most important thing, were the people in the reception, restaurant and office. They were all very serviceminded and helpful in any way we required. ||So all in all a 5-star experience and definitely recommendable. We would come back any time.
