Riva Arun Bangkok

I spent hours (too embarrassed to admit how many) looking for a hotel that didn’t have any of the nightmares reported like cockroaches, bed bugs, awful reviews, loud noise outside, break-in accusations by staff, mean and/or racist staff. We also were willing to pay what we might in the states, so long as it included breakfast and was in a good location. Then, hours later, I found this amazing hotel and immediately booked a room here for three nights. Upon arrival, we were greeted with delicious tea, a place to store our luggage until the room was ready and incredibly kind, smiling, helpful staff. Everyone from reception to breakfast to cleaning staff was amazingly happy, friendly and professional. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable with daily water bottles, new towels, made beds. Our breakfast was huge, the coffee fresh and endless, all while enjoying a 270degree view of temples, boats passing, etc. on a fantastic location. honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay. Lucky us.

The hotel is right on the river, with a view of the water and Wat Arun. Sunsets were spectacular from our river view room. It is located on a small side street very close to the main street meaning easy access to the activities but not in the middle of it all. This was really nice.|• Staff were lovely - Nina asked us every day about what we did that day and she showed interest in what we shared.|• Very tiny room (the bathroom was in a closet) but extremely well-organized space. This was our favourite room on the trip, even though it was small.|• Our room overlooked a restaurant across the street, and one floor higher might have been even better, but the view was spectacular either way.|• Very close to the metro - just an easy two blocks away.|• The rooftop restaurant was a bit of a let down for us; the menu tried to do too much, rather than just good Thai food. We preferred other restaurants for dinner.|• Breakfast (also on the rooftop) when we were there was 420 THB per person, which was fairly expensive, so we tended to eat at the nearby restaurants like Hidden Spot or House of Juice just down the road. ||There is a lovely massage place right outside the hotel front door meaning easy access to foot massages at a reasonable price.||If we were to return to Bangkok, we would stay here again for the service, the room and the location.

The hotel is conveniently situated along the vibrant river Chao Phraya and rooms have views of the beautiful Wat Arun. There is a fabulous rooftop bar and restaurant that over looks the river far and wide. The hotel is close to other attractions and little shops and street food if you want a snack. The rooms are very clean and thoughtful stocked with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The bed and pillows made me feel like l was at my own home. The staff are super friendly and ready to help or give you advice for your excursions. We even received a hand written card from the staff as a thank you for staying with them. The food and drinks were also delicious. I loved eating my breakfast at the roof top restaurant every morning and watching the boats busily passing by. I highly recommend staying at Riva Arun for your next visit to Bangkok.

This is an amazing location on the river. Spend the extra $$ for a room overlooking Wat Arun! Walking distance to all the main Bangkok temples. Nice rooftop restaurant (we only had breakfast) . Friendly staff! It was perfect for us first time visitors

This is the second time we stayed at Riva Arun. We love the area and the hotel is ideally placed for exploring some of the most famous sites in Kroong Thaehp (Bangkok). The staff are fabulous and go the extra mile. After booking, we had the opportunity to do an upgrade to Grand Deluxe Jacuzzi room overlooking the river and looking straight across to Wat Arun. It was fabulous and well worth the extra for the upgrade. We dined at the rooftop restaurant where the food was sensational and the views sublime. Looking across the river to Wat Arun, watching the watercraft of every shape and size and then look back at Wat Po temple or across to the Royal Palace. Can't wait to go back again!

The other reviews cover this place pretty well. Great service, location and rooms are nice with comfortable beds and fantastic view!||Things to know:|They provide toiletries (liquid soap in shower & small bar hand soap), blow dryer, room had a mini bar. Electric plugs are universal and our A & B (United States worked). Looked like C from Europe would as well. ||Air conditioning good, decent water pressure and warm water. WiFi free & fine. ||Restaurants located steps away include: Rongos (make reservations in advance), Supanniga (make reservations for dinner, we walked in for lunch), Tha Arun. We ate at last 2 several times -very good. ||The ferry to Wat Arun alley is between the last 2 listed. These places are small so this sounds complex, it is not. ||There's a coffee house/cafe at the end of the street on the corner, also good. Opposite corner has 7/11. ||I'd absolutely stay here again & recommend

Loved staying here. Staff was amazing, from the desk people to the rooftop restaurant servers. Loved the view of the temple just across the river. If you aren’t familiar Bangkok, the river taxis are THE way to get around the city. You will not regret staying right on the river.

The location is really the best part of this hotel. Right on the river edge, with an amazing restaurant on the rooftop. Having breakfast while looking at Wat Arun Temple is something I will never forget. The staff is just an absolute joy, you honestly couldn't get any better in my opinion.
