I have been here several times in the past with my family. This time I was dining solo. Although the food was excellent and the location is very pleasant, it is probably not the best place for solo diners as you end up getting forgotten, surrounded by bigger, noisier, more demanding groups. If you are going to dine solo, come early 😉.

This place is all about vibes. Lovely setting for a sun downer after work on the river right by the business district. Service is mediocre. Food is absolutely not worth the money. Burrata was ok, the sauce not really matching the flavor. The staff did not torch the top of the crème brûlée which was disappointing.

Price is on-point with food and the service. The asparagus starter had an excellent balance of taste, texture and the flavor of the sauce. The burrata starter is a journey on its own, great combination on sour, salty, sweet tones with the creamy burrata flavor is daring but the chef managed to pull it off. We are returning for this dish! The chocolate mousse turned out very light and airy, with a nice taste of real black chocolate. Very nice! Couldn’t recall the other dishes. Dogs are allowed for the dinner

Very nice setting, cosy decor, very good service. Quite an inventive cocktails menu. The cuisine is a mix of traditional and fusion. The dishes are tasty and of good quality. One disappointment is the stagnant water smell coming from the bathroom downstairs.

Amazing place to come eat. It’s local. Amazing park near by. Go for a walk and come for dinner. For sure worth trying. When it get bust little slow at getting to you. But food is super fresh and tasty. Also very child friendly environment. For sure try it.

River Cafe in New York holds a special place in my heart as my absolute favorite Michelin-starred restaurant in the city. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and charm. The view is breathtaking, and the cuisine is nothing short of extraordinary. Every visit here is a testament to the culinary artistry and attention to detail that define this establishment. The menu is a masterpiece, each dish meticulously crafted to perfection. The flavors are harmoniously balanced, leaving a lasting impression. The service is impeccable, with a team that's not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. Their recommendations have never failed to delight my palate. River Cafe truly sets the bar for fine dining, and it's a testament to their dedication that they've earned every one of their Michelin stars. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's a five-star experience in every sense of the word.

Delicious fare in a very cute setting - we loved the octopus salad, the watermelon and feta salad, the salmon tataki, and the mushroom pasta (solid flavours, though it was slightly overcooked). The rum baba was rich and delicious as well. Service was good, although it was a bit hard to get the servers’ attention. The ambiance is lovely and serene.

Beautiful place and lovely for a weekend lunch. The staff was very helpful, friendly and fast. Food was good, arrived quickly and tasted fresh. I wouldn't say that the food is exceptional but it still was tasty. Desserts were really good and I highly recommend crème brulée. It is wheelchair accessible.

Yelp
Been here once before for an excellent meal some years ago... Its a boat, moored, smart casual with a good menu, great in the summer...you can sit in or out and there are 2 main rooms, the true restaurant area and the other one where there is a dance floor For once we would spend New Years Eve in Paris rather than home in England so I looked around for something a little more interesting and remembered this place I called and they were incredibly helpful...its not cheap €180 pp but they explained this included 7 courses, 2 glasses of champagne, a half bottle of wine pp a table of course and dancing to a DJ from midnight to 3. They would sort out a taxi when the time came. They sent me all the info...and there were hats and streamers etc etc Must say that Carina was superb on the phone helping us sort it all out There were a couple of things that I wasn't so keen on on the menu, in a particular the cooked foie gras which I cannot abide...but though you can't pick and choose, they said they would give me something else...that was nice So we booked Come the night, they had changed the menu anyway and we could both eat the lot...and it was good...brouillées eggs, lobster, scallops, veal, macaron & framboise, profiteroles with Baileys and the wine was good too...we had a great waiter who really looked after us....and we were just by the window, so a nice spot in the restaurant itself (we had asked for that if possible though they wouldn't guarantee it) of which more later Then we danced till 2...great music and sensible people except for one couple who tried to jive at speed on a crowded floor banging into people including us 3 times till I told them to take a hike! But apart from that it was really good Just to say you don't want to be in the dance room as its gets mega hot, and there are people everywhere and it's LOUD So was it worth it - yes!!!! Ok not cheap but good food, good music and fun ...and yes we got a taxi home easily If we are here another time then I think we would go again for sure Photos to follow

Yelp
I give River Cafe a solid 2 stars. I opted for the three course dinner which was a good deal but the food was not impressive. For the first dish I ordered the burrata (mozzarella) and melon. The burrata was delicious and creamy. It was much heavier than burrata I've had in the past, almost like it was made from heavy cream. The thing that threw me off was the melon. I can't figure out why it was a served in cantaloupe, which did not create any harmony or flavor. It could have been a four to five star dish with some simple tomato and basil. For the main course I ordered the vegetable platter. I was very disappointed with this dish. The dish consisted of snow peas, carrots, radish, and string beans in a very watery broth. The broth was tasty, but like the appetizer, the dish was not harmonious. The vegetables selected were ones that do not absorb liquids well, making this dish comparable to a poorly executed (and weird) soup. The broth was also foamy, so it seems like there was effort put into the execution, but the concept did not work. A thin broth such as the one in this dish would need a more absorbent vegetable such as a potato or leek in order to work. I'm not going to lie, it was weird. For dessert, I ordered the red fruit and whipped cream. The red fruits were raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. I really enjoyed the fruits- they were fresh and good quality. Unfortunately the whipped cream was very overwhipped. It was bordering on buttery texture which I did not enjoy. Overall the food was poor. I do think the boat atmosphere is nice, and it was fancily decorated, but it did not compensate for the cuisine.

Yelp
The River Cafe is located fairly close to my hometown, close enough for a long walk or a short drive. I've been there a few times, mostly for special occasions, and my parents even took me there on my 18th birthday (A big deal in France) upon my request. I've always perceived this restaurant as both unique and special and have many fond memories of meals there. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and is attached to one of the banks of the Seine river. Parking isn't very easy to find there but their valets are efficient and worth it. It's not really near anything but you can get there using public transportation if you really want to. The closest stop is the Issy-Val-de-Seine stop on either the RER's C line or the T2 Tram line. Either way, this establishment is worth the trip. In a nutshell this restaurant is a peniche, or barge, which has been gutted and remodeled into a restaurant. It is fairly spacious and also quiet because it is located under the street level, along the river. Opposite the river is the edge of the Ile Saint-Germain, a public parc. Although there are some insects in the summer, it was never a big issue in that restaurant. I do recommend going on a nice summer evening, the windows are open and it makes for a more pleasant experience. As I stated, this tastefully decorated restaurant offers some pretty classic French fare. The menu is seasonal and changes often and is also fairly affordable considering the quality. They have all kinds of dishes, from steak to chicken, seafood and more high end dishes like foie gras and lamb. I've had all kinds of meals there and never had a bad dish. Their appetizers, entrees and desserts are all very good as the service and the cocktails. I've had my fair share of caiparinhas there and paired wine as well. Everything is very tasty, very fresh and well executed. Overall, River Cafe offers more than just a good meal, it offers a unique experience as it is not often that one can dine on a barge. Although the barge never leaves the dock, it is stil a very enjoyable experience. I look forward to going back on my next trip, once I sweet talk my parents into paying for the meal.

Yelp
Love it. I know it's a little touristy but ambiance, food, and service were perfect. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice place, good service, providing english menu. Food is ok, the sauce for lamb is a little too fat, nice cheesecake. The restaurant is ok in general, although I expected more. Not so satisfied.

Yelp
So here are my thoughts. We went here for our anniversary dinner. We valeted our car which was nice to have the option in such a busy part of town. Jacket was required for male patrons, which was fine. We usually dress up for our anniversary. We sat down at a table facing the window which allowed for taking in the view. The table lamp placed on the table was accompanied by a long cord that you had to step over as they pulled out the table for you. I'm not high maintenance or snooty but I just couldn't help but think why do they have what resembles a long extension cord on all the tables. Now for the service. I handed my husband his gift. He began reading the card. The server comes up and without hesitation asks us to take a look at the menu. Shouldn't one of the strengths of a server be to be able to detect good timing. After all this place is perceived to be an upscale restaurant. As she walked up and saw him reading the card, she still proceeded. The restaurant knew it was our anniversary. They greeted us upon arrival by wishing us a Happy Anniversary so I'm quite sure that she was aware. She just kind of killed the moment. She asked us if we wanted to get started with a cocktail. We indicated we would be drinking wine and wished to see the food menu so we could decide red or white. Following this, at least three separate people came over asking us if we wanted a cocktail. She says let me call over the sommelier. No one ever comes. She then comes over again and asks what wine we would be having. We remind her that she offered the sommelier but no one came over as of yet. The sommelier comes over and at this point we decided we were going with their fish dishes. We really didn't need a sommelier to pick a white but since it was something they wished to present we rolled with it. We tell him the white and he immediately points to a 250.00 bottle. I couldn't help but let out a laugh. Anyone that is an avid wine drinker knows that there is really no need to go to that price point for a white wine. Now I know why they were pushing the sommelier. At this point I just wanted him away from our table. We settle on a Chardonnay from Napa, which was something that we picked on our own. It was a very nice bottle and went well with our selections. Now for the food.... scallop and pork belly quite good. Really enjoyed this. My husband had the tuna which was flavored with fresh orange. It was also very good. Followed by Branzino and the Black Sea bass. They were both solid dishes. Nothing too impressive. Flavor was subpar. Dessert was disappointing. We had the soufflé, which was just mushy and doughy. It was like eating a bland breakfast cereal that sat in milk for eat too long. The Brooklyn bridge dessert was made with poor quality chocolate. Then we couldn't help but notice that the table next to us gets this flight of wines with some chocolates as the server says complimentary for your anniversary. The patrons look confused and say it's not our anniversary. The servers then ask is it a special occasion. She responds my Birthday was like a month ago, which lead us to believe that they screwed up. Oh well, if it was meant for us they could keep it. When you have a meal at the 600.00 range and you just really want out of the restaurant, It's never a good thing. We were just thankful that we were with each other and took a photo under the Brooklyn bridge before leaving and maybe that's all that this place lent the evening. 3 stars for the appetizer, entree, and location. Would I ever come back, I think the answer is clear!

Yelp
I had high hopes for River Cafe. Some cosmopolitan flair in a boathouse on the Seine. How can you go wrong? Food was expensive but only mediocre. Service was good. Seating was slightly delayed from our reservation, but maitre d' made up for it with a drink and desert....certainly more than necessary on that front. Not a bad place. But certainly not as magnificent as I had hoped or expected.

Yelp
Excellent and unexpected location in a rather business oriented area. Easily accessible from both Issy an Boulogne. The main restaurant is located on a remodelled boat while there also is an open restaurant on the quay. The service is good and the food is pretty good as well. While the whole setup, the food presentation and the service staff are suggesting some higher class restaurant, the food did not meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but when you create such an environment you also want to serve only the best. I was expecting excellent food. You can get set menues for 40 € which makes a good dinner at a nice location a good and worthwhile evening event. If you want to be seated n the boat you definitely want to book in advance.

Yelp
The best part of this restaurant is the escargot. Just get it and you'll be happy, no buts about it. Or you'll regret it.

Yelp
I dined at River Cafe 2 weeks ago. Location was very convenient to the hotel I was staying at, and it was recommended by the hotel staff. Food was fine, but my disappointment was the service. Although the waiter was polite, he was not attentive. I waited a long time for the waiter to take my order. When I asked for the check, I waited politely for at least 20 minutes. I only got the check when I got up to ask for it. I don't know if they were understaffed that day, or if that's the way they normally operate.
