River City Grill

My husband and I celebrated our 1 yr wedding anniversary today. I'm so happy we decided to come to River City grill. Food was amazing, but the service was unbelievable. We encountered with Joseph. He was tending to every customer with attentiveness, kindness, and a positive attitude. I work retail/ customer service field and I can't tell you enough how appreciative we were that you have Joseph on your team. His dedication while working, is applaudable. Very high work ethic. All, with a smile on his face. He is a valuable asset.

This was our first time and definitely not our last. What a find! Highly recommend this restaurant. We did not have reservations and asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the food come out of the kitchen. Every dish looked amazing. Very well run super busy yet the owner still stopped by to check on us and have a delightful conversation on the artwork. Ample seating outside lovely tables inside as well. Highly recommend.

I was looking forward to visiting after all the great reviews I've heard online. I was super excited to see they had beef wellington as their special since my fiance has always wanted to try it. Sadly when we arrived and we were seated they told us they were completely sold out of their special. Talk about being bummed out. No matter I said we will stay and try something else. I ordered the blackened chicken with the fettuccine and my fiance ordered the pistachio crusted chicken with beans. He said his food was delicious but I was left disappointed by mine. My chicken was so thin and small and not to mention dry. The fettuccine was bland but the vegetables were good. For the price I was expecting better portions. Next time I'll go back to olive garden instead. Definitely not worth the price. Maybe I'll go back again and try it again when they have the beef wellington as a special again. Sadly my first experience wasn't the best. 3 stars at best.

Great place! Love the outdoor dining... The food was very delicious! I recommend the chicken caesar and blackened chicken.

First time visiting this place and because of the good reviews I doing on the internet. When we arrived, we were served very quickly and our waitress was always very friendly and attentive. The dining room inside wasn't that busy so for that reason the service was quick. However, the food took an hour to be served and we had to call another waiter to give us the status of our order. When it finally arrived, my steak was very burnt and instead of medium it was well done and I couldn’t taste any flavor on it. The potato salad was good, but I couldn't eat the whole steak. The place has an outdoor sitting area, but in the summer it's impossible to sit outside, it’s insanely hot so keep that in mind. There is ample parking on the street and in a parking lot next to the restaurant. The prices are higher than an average place with the same selection of food. I expected a little more from this place so I'm not sure if I would recommend it or not, according to my experience here.

We had lunch. Tried the special which was a chicken breast sandwich. It was very good as was the pasta dish we had. My wife was very happy with the variety of foods offered. She found a lot of things we will be going back to try later. It was priced reasonably for the type of food served here. There was a lot of seating in the patio.

I always get the new York strip. It's a huge portion and always cooked perfectly. The staff is always friendly and the decor is very unique, definitely a go to spot when I'm in Yuma for work.

We stopped her on the drive back to Encinitas, based on the other Yelp reviews. It didn't look like much from the outside, but it's quaint and cozy on-site. We had a salad with blackened chicken and a spinach pasta with grilled veggies. Both were quite good. Nice stop, of you're driving the 8 freeway, or even a local.

I was eager to try this on our first visit to Yuma. Even though reviews are extremely mixed-really wanted everything to be perfect . I checked out the food and drink on line and thought it looked very reasonable and thoughtfully put together . The wine list was especially well priced . My husband's NY steak was perfectly cooked and he loved it. The only problem he had to ask for a steak knife that actually cut it twice before he got a choice of 2 more. Sigh. My Pacific NW salmon was tasty with the pistachio nut crust- the palest salmon I have ever had from there and I lived there over 20 years . Staff were pleasant and service was quick. Over all impression when opening the door - golly not much room. A very small area for people to stand while waiting to be seated .Fresh flowers would go a lot further as a nice touch rather than a tired artificial mis -match as the first thing you actually see ? So sorry only 3 stars .

A nice place to celebrate momentous occasions, a menu aimed to delight us every day folks and foodies alike. Try to be seated outdoors or the east wall of the interior otherwise you are seated in the traffic path of departing and arriving customers. This can be annoying!! While in reviews steaks here sometimes get a bad rap this has NOT been our experience!! I recommend River City Grill for when out of town guests visit! It's not your run of the mill restaurant! Enjoy!

The service was great here, fun and friendly! I got the steak and it was HUGE (see hand for comparison) and cooked really well. My family got the scallops, which were delicious. It's a great spot for a special occasion!

Delicious food, friendly service, & chill vibes. They definitely don't rush you here. The food took awhile to come out but we didn't need much and the wait was worth it honestly. We ordered: Rib Eye Steak w/ white rice & vegetables. The rib eye was tender and cooked perfectly. It had a lot of flavor. Pistachio Crusted Salmon. Surprisingly flavorful & seasoned well. Parking can be difficult when it's full. It's mostly street parking or there's a dirt parking lot next to the restaurant. Overall, I would definitely return and highly recommend it!

Super cozy, super cute/funky decor and great food. Great service too. Came with my sister and mom and it was the perfect place for dinner. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it was very well cooked(really juicey and tender), mash potatoes were delicious. We also ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious as well. Drinks were good. Price wise I think it's pretty good for portions given. Overall great experience and also my pictures don't do the food justice lol forgot to take before eating

I like the atmosphere. Whatever I have friends come from out of town that think that Yuma Arizona is a backwater. River city Grill demonstrates to them that Emma is a bit more than taco joints and fast food places. They have a decent wine list and the weight staff seems fairly knowledgeable. They are appropriately attired. And I'm impressed with the menu.

While traveling from Tucson to San Diego, we found this place by seeing the good Yelp reviews. I have to admit though that when we first saw the outside which said "Fine Dining" on the sign, the outside appearance of the restaurant did not exactly scream "Fine Dining" to us, but looks can be very deceiving. For a moment before opening the doors, I wondered if it was even open, but then as soon as the doors opened, the entire restaurant was packed and bustling, and many happy diners enjoying their meals immediately conveyed a friendly and happy ambiance that welcomed us in. The service was excellent and everyone was so attentive. We picked the curried mussels to start and they were excellent, especially with the freshly baked bread to dip in the curry sauce. I had the lobster ravioli in the curry sauce and it was excellent, as were the grilled vegetables that came with it. My wife had the mustard crusted halibut and loved her dish. We were so happy to find this gem of a place in Yuma, and look forward to stopping by again soon!

The River City Grill lies in the City of Yuma's west end. The popular fine dining restaurant is known for its soothing atmosphere and elegant dishes. If you're looking for a romantic or energized experience this restaurant is for you. The chef is one of the area's best with a worldly skill set which includes vegan dishes. The River City Grill offers a variety of signature dishes and drinks that are perfect for any occasion. The staff is professional and attentive and the restaurant is always well kept and spotless. This restaurant is nothing short of memorable.

Nice place and amazing food. Our waiter Valentino was very accommodating and friendly. I got the ribeye and it was like 40 oz. Worth the price. Fat ass steak cooked perfectly. The veggies were so good too. My gf got the fettuccine and blackened chicken. Chicken was alright but the fettuccine?? Best i ever had bro. The sea salt caramel gelato was our dessert and damn it was awesome. 10/10 will be back for pasta.

Driving by, you wouldn't even notice this restaurant. On a street without many businesses, but the Open sign was in the window. Outstanding food for anywhere on the map, including Yuma. Friendly service and smooth jazz playing in the background. We had the rack of lamb and coconut curry shrimp. The lamb was spiced and cooked to perfection with a medley of vegetables and a wine sauce that complimented it all. The shrimp were succulent and the sauce was lightly spiced and well blended as it covered the rice, shrimp and vegetables. We will definitely return.

First time in Yuma? This place is excellent. The veal is large enough to share so order the appetizers and desserts! Everyone was really nice. Service and food was 10/10. We were too busy enjoying everything to take photos of the food. Seriously so good! We will be back next time we are in town! I took a photo of the address so we can find it again! The owner was really nice to talk to. You can tell this place tries their best and they pull it off flawlessly.

Had the pleasure of having a wonderful dinner here on my Vacation. Upon entering the ambiance was warm and inviting. The wait staff was great and attentive. My pistachio encrusted halibut was plated and tasted perfect. The crème brûlée was excellent. Will return.

It is small but very charming. The stain glass windows are nice. The staff is okay. The server was very nice at first but we didn't see her again until we asked for the bill. No one asked us if needed anything else or if everything was okay. Even the dessert we had to ask about it but we heard good things to the other tables around us and ask everyone for desserts and how everything was. She didn't even ask if we needed and boxes to go. We ordered the bruschetta combo which consisted of 3 caprese,, 3 olive tapenade, and 3 formiggio. The first two were amazing, so flavorful in every bite, the goat cheese spread was okay.The minestrone soup was delicious. We ordered the sea scallops and prawns and I had the halibut. We ordered the sea scallop and prawns with the curry sauce on the side for the lobster ravioli. All the seafood was fresh and tasty and the ravioli. The halibut came with spinach ricotta ravioli in Alfredo sauce and unfortunately I did not order the sauce on the side. So all I ate was the halibut thank goodness it was just placed on top of the veggies and none of the sauce got on it. The halibut was delightful it light and flaky and the olive tapenade on top gave it that tangiest it might get with lemon juice. Just right. The Alfredo sauce was very thick and gritty. I had a piece of the ravioli that I scrapped the Alfredo sauce of and that tasted very good. The Alfredo just ruined the rest of the dish. I wish I could have used the curry sauce with the ravioli instead of that sauce. We also seen a lot of people order wing the bread pudding and it looked so good. So ordered one to go. We heated it up a couple hours later and added the ice cream to it. It was soooooo goood, you could taste the apples, cinnamon and the bread custard in every bite. If anything if I return I would get the bruschetta combo but ask for just the olive tapenade and caprese. The minestrone soup and apple bread pudding. If you getting any entree ask for the sauce on the side and use it as much as you want or not.

I can't say enough about River City. Best Moscow mules, the appetizers were fantastic and the ribeye was the best I've had in Yuma. If I had to pick one thing I didn't care for, was it was loud in there, but everything else was just great. Our waitress was great and the other staff was raoming around making sure out table had what we needed and removed plates when we were done. Can't wait to go back.

Wowza What a pleasant surprise. Never judge a book by it's cover. Drove to Yuma for a quick day trip from Tucson. Who goes to Yuma for seafood?, this girl did and boy this place did not disappoint. Great ambiance, great attentive staff and the Food is fresh, flavorful and the serving size is a Lot Lot. No skimping here , a definite stop and stay a while. Brought along my sis in law and hubby who is NOT a seafood eater. After today's meal, I can't say that anymore. He tried the halibut and he scarfed (annihilated) that meal ! Check out my pix for proof. I ordered the coconut shrimp curry and man, slap the momma, the daddeh and the bebe, it was so good. I didn't have enough room in my guttox to try my Sissy's food. Definitely a Must try. Highly RECOMMENDED

My wife and I JUST finished our honeymoon road trip out to SD (from Phx) and were on our way back home this morning when we both decided we'd take some honeymoon money and find a decent place to eat in Yuma for lunch. I originally thought this would be a struggle simply because I know nothing about the food in Yuma outside of chain restaurants and gas stations for snacks and such. Boy was I naive. After a quick web search, we found River City Grill and thought "why not". And I'm glad we did. They have a a quaint and cozy patio outside and the restaurant appears to be in an old family home? So much character in the place. Both the staff members that helped us were very pleasant and accommodating which was another great touch. My wife had the coconut chicken curry and I ate a NY strip. Flavor on both dishes was spot on, we even put the leftovers in the cooler and we are both currently eating them at home in Phoenix. If you're in the area and have a hankering for some good ol' comfort food with elegance, check out the River City Grill.

The food was fabulous. Service wonderful. Drinks delish. And desserts were beyond fabulous.

This restaurant was recommended by a dear friend who is now our dearest friend! A very simple exterior but quite cozy and quaint inside when one enters. There's a lovely outdoor patio as well. The hostess went out of her way to make sure we could be seated, because we failed to make a reservation. We plan to go back there on our way home and will certainly make one for that evening! Mark started off with a martini while I ordered wonderful glass white wine, Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc 2020, from New Zealand. Delicious. And speaking of delicious our food was wonderful! Mark ordered the special, an Almond Crusted Halibut and I, the Mustard Crusted Halibut, both with tasty accompaniments. We finished the meal with their Chocolate Amaretto Mouse. Have no picture of that because it would have been completely devoured by Mark while I took the picture!

1/5/2024-Still loving River City Grill! The food is lovely, the desserts are worth the added calories! No regrets, nope.

A+ food, service, air conditioning We were traveling to Tucson and stopped in Yuma for food. We found this little gem thanks to all the yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint. Had a fantastic lunch. They had lots to choose from and good wine list too.

Steaks excellent. Veggies are fresh cut and done right. Wait staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Only negative, the bar. Don't order top shelf drinks here. A topshelf double scotch & premium bourbon were the shortest pours I've had in yrs. The bar shoukd pour as if they want you to reorder. We then went to a local bar, ordered same and it filled nearly 2/3d's of the glass for less.

This place is always a go-to in our book. Service is always great. The food is good and the atmosphere is good. The only recommendation is if you're going during the summer months, call to make reservations. Although the inside is a little tight, they have made great use of their space. Dish to try is the osso buco absolute melt in your mouth.

Fantastic find. Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. A balanced plate with a generous serving of vegetables (rare in the USA) Highly recommend.

We had great well prepared dinners at the grill. Excellent service. Menu choices are amazing. So nice to sit down and just enjoy your surroundings. Great place to entertain your out of town friends. It is a true Yuma gem!

Coming from out of town, we looked for the finest restaurant in Yuma and the River City Grill went to the top of the list. Four of us for dinner. We order the New York Steak, Chicken Parmesan, Mediterranean Salad with Salmon and Mustard Crusted Salmon. All the plates looked great and everybody gave theirs a 5 star. Speaking for mine, the New York steak--it is was the best NY cut I ever had. Tender, steak knife not required, full of flavor and cook to my medium perfect. A large portion and went into overtime to finish it. Service was great and dining outside was very pleasant. We did not have reservations, but would recommend making.

Really enjoyed our lunch! I have some dietary restrictions and I couldn't pull up a menu ahead of going in, but the food was very enjoyable and tasty, and workable into my food allowances. Best mixed vegetable medley and loved the blackened chicken. Healthy eating at reasonable prices.

Service was really slow. Was told that my to go otder would be ready in 25 min. ended up waiting for 55 minutes and only because I finally asked what the holdup was. Turns out they were eaiting for non gluten free bread. Well all my order is gluten free so no need for that. Also ordered the gf drunken alaskan cod. Fish was a little over cooked or been frozen too long and bland (need salt) and the sauce on top too sweet. It also did not look appetizing. The mochi rice was both mushy and crusty. The creme brulee has a nice sugar coating but the custard itself was goop. Very disappointing. Went here because of the great review and gf options but highly disappointed.

WOW! River City Grill exceeded our expectations - and they weren't low expectations, either! I'd read a lot of reviews (Yelp and elsewhere) that were positive, and they sure were right about that. It started with outstanding service, from Jenna (hope I didn't misspell it because it might be Jena). She greeted us immediately, brought out bread, welcomed us in, asked about drinks, and we were off to a great start. My wife was even able to get that excellent gluten-free bread, and I had the regular bread, also great. Wine price point was great, as was the selection. Lots of gluten-free or gluten-friendly options. VERY flexible with modifications. Food was phenomenal, really high quality. I had the herb crusted chicken Dijon and it blew me away. The chicken itself was tender and delicious but the preparation put it over the top. Crispy, tangy, atop a bed of excellent pesto penne, with delicious fresh seasonal vegetables. Wow. My wife had shrimp and scallops over gluten-free pasta and she loved her dish as well. To finish off the meal, my wife had a great Manhattan on the rocks (well, the official bourbon / Manhattan ice cube), using a great Yellowstone bourbon Jenna recommended. Right on! And I can't stop thinking about the chocolate amaretto mousse. I'm not usually a fan of these types of chocolate desserts because they're typically too sweet for me, but man was this great! Smooth, creamy, you could really taste the chocolate, it wasn't overwhelmed by the sugar, and the fresh whipped cream next to it was a great complement. Plus the little amaretto cookie, nice touch. Ambiance was also excellent - loved the artwork on the walls, cool bar, nice vibe. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had, we'll remember this for a long time. It was a great start to an anniversary trip and we will definitely return when we're in Yuma again. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

This 'fine dining' restaurant's heart and vision are clear from the front page of their menu, which prominently displays every level of kitchen staff by name. Their focus on locally sourced produce, meat, and fish is consistent. I enjoyed my blackened tofu (it was texturally quite good) and my colleagues enjoyed an array of meat and fish. The service was thoughtful, and I appreciated how easily they were able to accommodate us in their peaceful outdoor space. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

It was fresh Veggies were delicious And easy to eat healthy here My sister is on a no salt cardiac diet and they were extremely happy to help deliver our request. She even brought the salmon in a separate plate. I was so impressed by this establishment We will definitely be back on outer next road trip thru Yuma!

Hands down yumas best place to eat simple gourmet meals. everything is delicious and the atmosphere is small but intimate. One note when you're asked if you'd like soup or salad it's not complimentary you'll be charged. I didn't realize this until the receipt came but they were both delicious so I did not complain.

Seated upon arrival with reservation. It was a lovely evening perhaps we might opt for outdoor seating on a similar night. The constant parade of guests through the dining room was cumbersome to servers and hostess! Impossibly tough hunks of baguette were pretty. Cocktails were delicious and served promptly and icy cold! Altho half way through my salad entrees arrived! Delicious entrees! Perfectly cooked Shrimp Scallops joined lobster stuffed ravioli. A nice variety of beautiful vegetables had winked at the skillet before being arranged on the most delicious curry! (Zucchini was dodging the tines of utensils so perhaps requesting a little grilling or a little more than a glance at the kitchen would be warranted!) The slender green Beans were marvelous!!!! Flourless Chocolate torte sent me into Birthday Girl Culinary Nirvana! Hubby's thickly encased Brûlée tasted yummy once the jackhammer method finally busted through! So yummy! I do recommend the 007 martini! I know where to sit next time! Altho other reviews were un complimentary about the steak served here I do hope that they are as delicious as the ones served to the table towards the window! The gentleman's knife seemed to glide effortlessly through each piece and there weren't any bits remaining on the plate when he sat back and laid utensils down with a very content groan! Something to look forward to!!! We loved the menu options! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the fish and seafoods were epic sauces that I wanted to bathe in! (Nothing even hinting at ever suffering abuse in a deep freeze here!) Yes! We liked it! We need to come back!

Haven't bern there in a while.Used to be my favorite spot! The service was poor, the food was cold, and the waiter over charged me on the bill! lost my business!!!

We really enjoyed celebrating my mom's birthday here. The food was amazing, and the service was great! We sat outside on the patio. The blackberry mojitos are fantastic and the crème brûlée was to die for! We'll definitely be back!

As a local, I have been eating at River City Grill for decades. Their food is and always has been amazing. I have eaten everything on the menu that does not have fish in it due to an allergy. It is all amazing. My favorite is the coconut curry chicken. Recently I called in an order for lunch from River City grill for a RiverWrap. The food was ready by the time I drove there from my office and was so good that it left me wishing I had ordered more. I think I have a new favorite lunch! Recommendation, this place is very busy on weekend nights and special days. And the patio has an amazing atmosphere when the weather is nice. Make a reservation!

Overall this place was OKAY. The outside decor was just odd, I felt I was walking into a backyard quinceñera. Different chairs at each table and the colors were off. I see what this restaurant is trying to do, but I think they definitely need to rethink the outside patio. I originally ordered the Cesar salad and it was very bland. The waiter was nice though and great attitude and attentive. Overall the food was just okay. I would consider changing up the menu, at least some items. Lets keep in mind the area that it is in and the audience it's catering to. It was has potential, but needs to be updated.

Service was good , atmosphere is also cozy and nice pretty pricy for what you get food quality is ok depending on what you order drinks are not good at all very pricy for almost watery drinks may be I go back but won't order any drinks Not a wow experience for the price you pay The steak was bloody when we ordered medium , we complained about the mushroom was very sour and tasted bad on the spaghetti and they didn't care , osoboco is more of a bone than meat It is just over rated

The food was great, prices reasonable, and service above average. The interior of the restaurant needs some maintenance and cleaning but overall a good lunch experience.
