River City Inn

We were a family of 7! This was a perfect location for us with cheapest rate in singapore! Moreover the location was located at the centre of the city accessible to most of the tourist spots! The girl in the front Neisa was so helpful in directing us in many ways! People stayed there were also so sweet! We had good quite homely experience with River city inn! Even though privacy was kind of limited but we had good time!

Good hostel with an excellent location. Only drawback is that their double decker beds “move a lot”. When the person on the top bunk tosses and turns whilst sleeping, it’s likely to wake you up on the lower bunk.

The hostel IS very clean and very well located near the city centre. The beds are good and The sheets smell good. The staff IS very nice and WE love pour stay here. 100%recommended.

I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent booking experience on your booking.xxx platform. And I have paid the property owner without my 3 days stay at the inn.Therefore,I will write my experience here as a consumer. On 5th September 2024, I made a booking for a 3-day stay at this inn within the same day. Upon arrival, I found the reception area in a chaotic state, making the accommodation unsuitable for our stay. Given these circumstances, my partner and I decided to cancel immediately. We informed the property owner via message, email, and phone calls, expecting a prompt resolution. However, we were still charged for the booking within an hour. I would like to emphasize that the booking process on your partner's booking platform appears to be more favorable to the property owner than to consumers, leaving little flexibility for unforeseen issues. As I am generally cautious about booking online due to unfamiliarity with places, this experience has only reinforced my hesitation. Please reconsider the booking process of "Pay Later" option, as it can be confusing. It would be more straightforward to remove it and have only a "Pay Now" option displayed in the booking system, ensuring greater clarity.

We stayed 3 nights in total and had a great stay. The location is perfect, close to walking distance to supermarkets, malls, MRT and bus stations, and main touristic activities/areas. The beds were comfortable. The hostel is very clean, bed sheets are changed between each guests and showers and toilets are cleaned multiple times a day. A fridge is available for all guests which is great for saving on breakfast costs (close to a 7-eleven). The staff was very helpful, the lady at the reception desk was always smiling. We could check in at 9pm and they kept our luggage for an entire day before our night flight.

The only positive aspect of this hostel was its location. However, my experience with the rooms was extremely disappointing. They were poorly cleaned, with visible dirt and dust under the mattress and in the corners. I encountered insects like beetles, or cockroach larvae, or bedbugs crawling around, which was unacceptable. The room without windows are dark and uncomfortable, and the ventilation was inadequate, leaving the air stuffy despite the presence of a fan. Additionally, the air conditioning was only available overnight.||Furthermore, the hostel allowed guests with colds and coughs to stay, posing a potential risk of infection, possibly even COVID-19. The practice of brushing teeth behind the reception desk was unhygienic. While the bathroom and toilet were acceptable, I still did not feel comfortable during my stay.||The hostel also had inconvenient operating hours, with a long break between 11 AM and 4 PM, during which the door was closed, making check-in difficult for those arriving during this time. Considering the subpar service and conditions, the price was exorbitantly high. Overall, I cannot recommend this hostel and believe it is significantly overpriced for the quality of service provided.

This inn is mostly suitable for MALE only. The room aircon is on from 9pm to 9am ONLY. the rooms type show in the ads are totally different from the reality. Beware of it.

I only found the location From this Hostel positive. The rooms were only rudimentarily wiped (not under the bed). Under the mattress and in the corners it was really dirty and there was a lot of dust. Beetles, cockroach larvae and fleas (bedbugs) were crawling around. The room was dark (not comfortable), with no windows, only a fan for ventilation, but the room was still stuffy. The air conditioning was only on overnight. They let people with a cold and cough stay overnight (risk of infection, maybe Corona). Brushing teeth behind reception. Bathroom and toilet were OK. But I didn't feel comfortable. They make a long break between 11 and 16'Clock. The door is closed when you arrival is at this time. Very bad check in time! Much too expensive for the service.
