River Heights Restaurant

This place could be so much more than what it is. It's a beautiful location on the Tennessee river. The black tablecloths were depressing. The little bar area is nice and uplifting. The food is subpar. Frozen shrimp from Walmart. Spinach dip is overpowered with Parmesan. The "grilled fish" was baked fish. Small side portions and overpriced. 13 bucks for 6 frozen shrimp from Walmart lol. Cocktails were ok. Everything was home cooked quality. Service was great

I enjoyed the atmosphere. A few things that stood out was the air conditioning unit just dripping puddles into the floor, with nothing catching the water, and a wet floor sign in the puddle. This was a continuous amount of water coming from it. We had spinach dip as an appetizer which was delicious and large portions. My meal was shrimp scampi with a salad and sweet potato. The salad and sweet potato was PERFECT! However, the scampi was horrible. The shrimp was so tough it couldn’t be chewed and I had to SAW it with a knife. I tried to eat two different pieces. The color was also off. It was a grey/yellow colored shrimp. I did tell the waitress and she removed the shrimp from my bill (thank you!). The service was good, my only recommendation would be to check on customers more than once after food is delivered. We were not offered refills on drinks at all. The view was very pretty. I felt like it was clean in the facility. We made a reservation so we didn’t have to wait long.

Ethan was our server, and he did amazing. Attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Our food was exceptional.

Y’all ready I actually lived here my entire life so I’m a bit partial to the area, I’ve been coming to the River Heights Restaurant before my feet would touch the floor in a normal chair and the food was good then and it is now. Now this is not a 5 star restaurant and it’s not meant to be, it does has a good atmosphere it very clean and that’s important these days and the food is really good not Ruth’s Chris good but really it doesn’t cost 100’s either. Our server Britney was over the top!! Great job!! So come on by you won’t be disappointed I certainly haven’t in 30 years!! Also here’s the most current menus

Trying to appear as an upscale restaurant in a rural area. Food was okay. Service was decent. Atmosphere is something to be desired. They give you grief if you don't have a reservation. No privacy. I could hear and see the kitchen (put a freaking door up). This should just be a family style restaurant and a lot more friendly by the hostess. No handicap access that I could see, just a long set of rickety stairs.

Oh my! Y'all! This place! Super impressed! Okay, let me say that we showed up maybe 40 minutes before closing time. We were greeted and seated instantly, the atmosphere is very chill, and not one moment did we feel rushed. We were handed menus and asked about drinks, we ordered teas and also charbroiled shrimp for an appetizer. I had the seafood au gratin and it did not disappoint!! The waitress let us know it was going to take a little longer, but that it wasn't a problem. And it was Absolutely huge and so delicious! My husband had the hamburger steak and a sweet potato. The salads were small, but adorable and very satisfying. Dressings were awesome. We opted out of dessert because we were so stuffed! Service was absolutely on point! Recommend! 10/10

View was awesome. Food was not. Uninspired to say the least. We left more on the plate than we ate and we went in hungry. The burger straight out of a box. Onions rings were huge but stale. I'm still baffled at how a fried food could be stale but they were. Grilled shrimp (nah Do Not go there). Bang Bang shrimp appetizer was literally all I ate. I started with a couple but the rest of the food was so bad I went back and ate the rest of them.

The food was so not appealing. I had a salad with one chicken tender, it seemed like a bag salad with extra "grated carrots" and tomato s sprinkled on top. I was given like six packages of crackers - weird. Service was great, was welcomed in but both the hostess and the waiter had bag rings hanging out their noses and it was really gross to see that when you are eating. Location is nice, located on the TN river with lots of boats to watch. The venue itself looks to have a downstairs for get togethers, special occasions. It is very dated but also super cute. If they could just come up with a better, more unique menu and staff with zero rings hanging out of their noses it would be a much better place.

Food was great fresh and tasty atmosphere fantastic view great Service and facilities excellent Will be back for sure. No old used oil taste here. VERY. FRESH

The view was really pretty and the food was good. Everything came out super fresh . We enjoyed seeing the river right out the window.

Not sure what's going on with this place. Used to go there every week and something has happened. Went there tonight. it was a waiting list with table still open. When we finally did get a table, we did get our drink order from the hostess, but it was at least 15 to 25 minutes Before we saw our waiter and then had to ask who was waiting on us. Tonight it took forever for the food to come out we were looking around the restaurant and noticing people that were there a lot longer than we had been there sitting there waiting on their food probably took 45 minutes to an hour for us to get our food once we had sat there 15 to 25 minutes trying to place an order. I think we'll find somewhere else to start going now. Seems this place does not have their act together. Seems that the owners husband wants to hang out at the bar and just drink beer and eat and doesn't do a whole lot

Just out riding and happen upon this little jem. The food was great the ambiance was beautiful. I didn't get our waitress name but she was so sweet. We will be back on our Friday night date night. Black tablecloth, cloth linen and fresh flowers on table. Well worth the drive from Jackson.

We love this place! The food is consistently good, the wait staff is excellent, and the river view is amazing! River Heights Restaurant is a hidden jewel along the Tennessee River, serving up excellent catfish, shrimp, and steaks! Only minutes from Savannah TN, just off Hwy 64 in Crump TN. Hubby says the fried catfish fillets (huge!) rival other well-known catfish restaurants! I love that there are plenty of health, flavorful options! A boat ramp is right by the restaurant, for those traveling by water.

Tucked away on the bank of the Tennessee River. Use your GPS to find your way to the restaurant. The menu has multiple options; something for everyone. The cocktails are very good, as well.

Such a sad experience. My husband and I wanted to eat where we could see the river. It doesn't look like much from the outside but wonderful from the inside. Smelled amazing g and the food we saw looked good. We entered and were told to sit anywhere. We selected a table with a view in the corner. We were never given a menu or offered drinks. Several employees made eye contact with us but never approached. Tables were rearranged next to us but still no one said anything. We were looking around nothing. We decided to leave after sitting for 15 mins. They seated some new customers who were given menus and asked what they wanted to drink. Very disappointing

Amazing view. Amazing staff. Amazing food. Was traveling to Shiloh National Military Park as part of a family trip with my extended family celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I tasked my 16yo daughter with finding a place to eat. She found this absolute gem. We stopped in a little after noon and was seated promptly. The variety on the menu was perfect for 10 people who all were looking for something different. The highlight was the catfish.

Every Sunday my mom and the siblings get together for lunch. We try to find different places to try out. Last week we tried out this little quaint restaurant located in crump on the river bank. It was a very good experience. It has several steps to climb but it was worth it. We had to wait a couple minutes for a table (which is a good sign that they had good food) but it was only maybe 10-15 min. We gig seated and had the best waitress. She explained the special of the day and answered any questions we had. She was very informative and nice. I forgot to take pics but my brother n I had beef tips and sister had chicken parmesan which she couldn't eat it all. My sister in law had chicken tips. Mom had fried chicken strips. We all had plenty of food and actually carried two boxes home for later. This place has a very nice atmosphere and great food and service. I would definitely recommend for you to try it out.

The restaurant has been taken over by new owners and management. There are/have been improvements in the form of wall paint, ceiling paint, new wooden steps, matching chairs in the dining areas, a small selection of beer, live entertainment and such. We did return for a meal last night after being informed that new owners had taken over. We aren't impressed with the food. It's nice to sit in the cleaner dining area and the waitstaff are much more friendly than before, but the food we ordered wasn't overly tasty or unique. The prices for the dinner dishes are pretty inflated. The cheeseburger was a pretty hefty sized 1/3 lb patty and seasoned with something, possibly Worcestershire sauce, but it lacked the chargrill that we were hoping for. The fries are hand cut and hot. The grilled fish (you have choices of cajun, lemon pepper and plain) with lemon pepper was a bit salty but the tartar sauce covers it pretty well. The salad bar has been enhanced and offers a variety of choices for everyone in your group. The price of the salad is pretty steep considering it's even higher than Ruby Tuesday's Garden Bar. You can use plastic to pay now instead of cash only. We weren't impressed, yet there will be others that will seem to have their socks knocked off. To Each Their Own.

Food is outstanding. A little pricey but well worth it. Onion rings are out of this world. Chicken tenders good. Loved their other place The Hickory Pit and hope it reopens soon. Great location, great food.

Took friends from Florence and had a wonderful relaxing dinner with a perfect view. I love this place.

Definitely a hidden gem in Hardin, County. The food was delicious and very friendly staff. Beautiful view of the TN River.

We went for lunch on a recommendation from a local.We all had the catfish & salad bar and everything was fantastic.The waitress was friendly & knowledgeable but the Long Island teas was a tad weak.

Worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. My husband and I waited 2.5 hours for our main entree when we finally decided to leave. Saw the waitress two times in 2.5 hours. No one came out to explain the wait or what was going on. Never saw a manager at any time. Got up to leave and had to wait 15 mins try to pay for the appetizer we had. You would have thought after a 2.5 hour wait the least they could do would be give us the appetizer but no. Will NEVER go back!

Their food is so good...hamburgers, hamburger steak, ribeye steak & jumbo fried shrimp are delicious!! We crave their food!! Everything we have eaten here has been good!! Our favorite restaurant in this area.

My family and I have been eating at River Heights all of my life (55 years) and they have ALWAYS had the BEST fried catfish!! And, a beautiful river view!!

Food very good-fair size portions. I don't like giant size portions because I think it is ridiculous to stuff yourself at a meal. lol be the right size portions and delicious food. Good quality. Nice salad bar with lots of options. Lemon drop martini a must.

Friendly service and a great view but that's it! Cash only? Really? Food and stuff left on the floor from previous customers and Sticky table cover for starters. We waited an hour for a burger some catfish and chicken tenders. Catfish was good, my burger and fries were cold and the tenders were ok but overall a huge disappointment. We thought we'd stop by somewhere off the beaten path and wish we had just kept on driving. Seems to be a favorite with the locals, maybe they're used to dirty floors and cold food, but this is the first and last meal here!

New menu. Reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and the food is great. The live entertainment gave the old restaunts a new relaxing fun atmosphere. We will be back. I recommend the catfish, it's a must have. The new salad bar has so much more to choose from.

The catfish is godly. That is not an exaggeration. It's the best catfish ever. It's unbelievably good. The crust is crispy and perfectly seasoned. The baked potatoes are fluffy, creamy, and delicious. The fries are a little dry, but if you get the seasoned ones, the taste is nice. I hate the hushpuppies, but if you like peppery hushpuppies, you'd enjoy them. Good sweet tea, and decent salad bar. The first thing you do when you get your food is remove that heinous apple garnish thing. Yuck. And, for the sake of all things holy, do NOT let it touch your food.

Visited here after reading good reviews. Was disappointed. The salad bar was pretty good. The catfish was okay, a little heavily breaded. Potato was good. Hush puppies were peppery and heavy. My boyfriend had fried chicken. Not sure what the breading was, but it was very heavy and not good. Overall the food wasn't up to par. The view of the river was great, but I felt like everything was dirty, my feet stuck to the carpet and the bathroom was very dated & in need of a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet.

This was the worst whole catfish, hush puppies steak fries all 5 of them on each plate and slaw my husband and I have eaten. Don't waste your money on this food. All food was over cooked bad except slaw it just wasn't good. 2018

The restaurant is dated like 1960. The catfish is great though. Good view of the river and service is good. I highly recommend if you are looking for good catfish.

Quaint, clean, awesome food & excellent service. Live acoustic musician playing quietly in the corner was wonderful. Will absolutely be back.

It had been.40+ years since my last visit to this eatery. Had the catfish filet dinner. They have a good salad bar. The catfish filets are whole and ~6 oz in size. I prefer smaller pieces. The hush puppies were cold. The onion rings are home made and good. If the fish had been fried in smaller pieces and the hush puppies hot would have rated the place 5 stars.

They changed owners and the salad bar has gotten a lot better, they now offer mesclun greens and spinach in addition to the iceberg/romaine. There's also feta cheese now and a few new dressings. I got the filet mignon and the portion sizes have definitely gotten bigger and it comes with more sides now. I got it medium (my standard for trying a new place) and there was not much pink at all but it was still tender and juicy and delicious! I came on a Sunday around 6 and it was not busy at all, got my food in about 20 minutes and the waitresses were very helpful and friendly. I'm glad this place is still in good hands and I'll be returning for sure. They also serve beer now, $3-$4 a bottle.

We use to go here all the time and we've tried it many times since the new ownership but it's been horrible each time. It's been a couple months since I've been because the service was so terrible and we never got our food after about an hour.

We spent the weekend at the river. Friday for lunch the service and food were excellent. Saturday they are completely disorganized. After being seated we were there an hour and they came to the table with questions about our order. We will come back but at lunch. PS- the little guy singing Saturday was REALLY good.

I had a great catfish dinner, fresh-hot-hush puppies--and salad bar. Price was right. Full cocktail bar. right on the river, fantastic view. very good attentive service.Building is a little worn but all tables have white table cloths==looks great. Restroom was very clean-and large.Walls facing river are all glass--a grreat view.

River Heights, under new management in 2016, is one of the best restaurants in this area. After making changes in the food and decor, it has become a very good place to have dinner. The food is good, the salad bar is a treat, and the view of the river is exceptional. The sevice staff is friendly and well trained. I especially like the Cajun grilled catfish.

Me & my husband had date night last night, my catfish was good, nothing to brag about. My husband got a ribeye & fries which came out over cooked & whole meal was cold, he couldn't eat it, took home to the dog. This was our 2nd trip to river heights, needless to say we won't be back & definitely will not recommend to anyone.
