River House Lodge

Close to the Kruger gate. One of the owners welcomed us and gave us the tour. Super knowledgeable of the areas and was able to answer all our questions and offer suggestions. The property is super charming with large covered look-out on to the river surrounding the park. Watch animals come and go. The supper and breakfast they had prepared was homemade and absolutely delicious. They also have a bar. The wine he suggested was great and my husband bought the brand of beer after the fact.

We stayed here after visiting Kruger Park, and it was an incredible experience. The location is perfect—just 10 minutes from the Malelane Gate—and the views from the house are absolutely stunning, overlooking the river inside the park. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

Our stay was fantastic! The real highlight was the stunning viewpoint overlooking Kruger National Park and the lively river. Although the rooms don't have TVs, the natural beauty more than makes up for it. The staff were incredibly friendly and honest - they even offered to courier back a bag we accidentally left behind. A great choice for families!

Very characteristic and unique hotel, decorated with many antiques. The views to the river were amazing, both from the room and the beautiful deck. The staff was very friendly. Dinner and breakfast were tasty too.

I HIGHLY recommend this place! Every day something new appeared from the park! The staff is very nice and friendly, we were there for one night and strayed 11 nights! I would go back without hesitation.

We went back again and loved it just as much. Come through twice a year, off the plane from U.K. 4 hour drive and we’re there for a couple of days before heading into Kruger. Always stay at River House Lodge - clean, comfortable and very friendly and a view that’s out of this world. Thanks again Johan and staff - see you in October.
