"Manchester is known for three rivers — the Irk, the Irwell, and the Medlock — but around the southern outskirts of the city is a fourth, the Mersey. On its way to the Irish Sea, the Mersey runs for many miles, and its winding pathways are always in use by walkers and cyclists. It’s largely unpaved, so if you do come on a bicycle, be prepared for some rough stuff. One particularly fine section for getting a flavor of the soft waters and grassy banks is from Manchester’s West Didsbury neighborhood to Parrs Wood. Access the path from Stanton Avenue in Didsbury and follow the river southeast until you hit the Waterside Hotel for refreshments." - MATADOR_NETWORK
Nice place to walk at day or night ( better in the summer ) to go people watching , looking at boats or ships or simply relaxing

Wide, iconic body of water that flows into the sea and offers a seafaring trade route into Liverpool, Widnes, Ellesmere Port and the North West etc. We enjoyed some of the riverside views during a circular tour on the Razzle Dazzle Ferry which leaves from Liverpool Pier Head.

Great to walk alongside the river, from Aigburth to Bootle, past by the Albert Dock, Liverpool.
Walk or cycle, (easy for wheelchairs, disabled, mobility scooters, buggies, etc), great views, extremely well laid out. Highly Recommended

Not sure how or why you review a river!! However, it looked wet and flowy. It had boats and waves.

Would not fancy a swim in it, largely because I was flying over it. It's a river, you go look.

The Mersey is some 70 miles in length but is known to most people as the river on which the city of Liverpool sits. It can be enjoyed by taking a ferry ride which includes a commentary of key sites on both banks. As well as the activity on the water there is also much going on below with two road tunnels and a rail tunnel linking the Merseyrail Wirral Line with the Northern Line passing through Liverpool city centre.

Been here fishing a couple of times; water is a bit brown but the fish seem to like it :)
