"Couples looking for an urban escape can take a romantic stroll along Savannah's River Street. The historic waterfront path is constructed from cobblestones that are more than 200 years old, while the street itself is chock-full of cute restaurants, bars, galleries, and shops, all offering spectacular views of the Savannah River and docking cargo ships." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We visited during Christmas week. The street was light up nicely for Christmas. Lot of Christmas decor and lots of stalls to visit . Vibrant and lively environment. You would see a cruise standing lighten up and Christmas tree decorated. Other side of the street lot of food and drinks options available. Good place to spend sunset time or late evenings.

River Street in Savannah is one of the most charming and lively spots in the city. Stretching along the Savannah River, the cobblestone streets, old brick warehouses, and historic architecture give the area a unique character that feels both vintage and vibrant. The riverfront views are beautiful, especially during sunset when the light hits the water and the ships pass by. There are tons of great shops, local boutiques, candy stores, and restaurants to explore — you can easily spend hours walking around. Street performers, artists, and musicians add even more energy to the atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, grabbing a bite to eat, or enjoying the nightlife. Whether it’s your first time in Savannah or your 20th, River Street always feels special and full of life. Highly recommended!

We went during Christmas time for the marketplace. It was so cozy and had a great vibe to the place. Nice lights and the markets were in lots of variety. The one that caught my eye was the wooden baskets that were flat but transformed into different plant and fruit shapes.

Must see for any Savannah trip! From the Byrd's cookies and the open air market at one end to all the great candy shops and wonderful food or just people watching this is the place to visit in Savannah. The free ferry across the river was a nice break and a good way to get so.e fun photos too! If you can snag publix parking that is a great bonus.

I enjoyed walking into every crook and cranny of River Street. It was an ugly day when I was there, but the craftsman, candy, souvenir, and trinket shops made up for it!! Definitely want to come back when there is better weather.

My partner and I enjoyed walking along the River Walk in Savannah as we were on our way home from a week long Christmas Vacation in Florida. We ate dinner at Fiddlers Crab House and Raw Bar.

River Street is one of the most iconic and charming parts of Savannah! The cobblestone streets, old brick warehouses, and views of the river make it feel like stepping back in time. There’s always something happening — from street performers and artists to live music and local food vendors. The shops and restaurants along the river have a great mix of local flavor and history. Whether you’re grabbing a praline from River Street Sweets, hopping on a riverboat cruise, or just watching the ships pass by, it’s a perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening. It can get busy, especially on weekends, but that’s part of the fun. Definitely a must-visit for anyone exploring Savannah
