51 Most Romantic Places in the U.S.A.

"Couples looking for an urban escape can take a romantic stroll along Savannah's River Street. The historic waterfront path is constructed from cobblestones that are more than 200 years old, while the street itself is chock-full of cute restaurants, bars, galleries, and shops, all offering spectacular views of the Savannah River and docking cargo ships." - Travel + Leisure Editors

If you dont visit River Street on a trip to Savannah, you didnt visit Savannah. Its the perfect way to see the history, enjoy the food, and experience all Savannah has to offer. Candy shops, boutiques, rooftop bars, amazing restaurants, and the best views are all there along the cobblestone road. Start at thr JW Marriott ans just walk. Check out the places and marvel at the old buildings and I frastructure. You wont be disappointed. My favorite spots are the JW Marriott, Black Rifle Coffee Company, Savannahs Candy Kitchen, and Spankys. Saturdays and holidays can get busy, but never too crowded (unless its St. Patrick's Day). But Sundays and weekdays are always slow and easy.

I had a blast on the Georgia Queen. My family and I went there for a cousins trip to Savannah. We danced and laughed all night. The food could've been better. We were on the second deck. The entertainment could've been better. However, we started giving them songs we wanted to hear and dance to. That made it a little better. I would definitely go back!

River street is a destination for locals and travelers alike. There's plenty of things to do and shops to explore while here. The river cruise was a nice way to cool off and enjoy the sights. Parking is a bit tough to find but not impossible. There's plenty of food and drink options too. Enjoy & explore!

Fun tourist area, many restaurants and bars to choose from. The area is full of souvenir shops. Nice walk along the water. Lots of steep old stairs to navigate and the streets are brick and cobblestone so choose footwear wisely.

River Street is…cool. But, it’s also not awesome, and I was a bit let down from what I was expecting. Its a mix of bars, shops and restaurants yes, but its not Bourbon Street. It’s not a party street with a ton of great places but if you go to Savannah, you need to check it out. Just temper your expectations because it does have some negatives. First off it’s really not easy to walk River Street. It’s a cobblestone street which makes walking tough but there’s also plenty of cars that come through there so it’s really not a good idea to be on the street at all. That said the little sidewalk immediately adjacent to all the stores and shops is narrow, and you are constantly dodging people. Now there is the river walk on the other side that is easier to walk but then you’re away from all those establishments, so you gotta pick your poison. River Street is reasonably clean and doesn’t stink like New Orleans, but there just isn’t enough great spots to justify spending a lot of time there.

Great place to visit when heading to GA. The trees is something that has always called my attention and when you see them in person they are absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of shops to stop and explore and my absolute favorite is the candy shop. I don’t recall the name but they make the candy there and they give samples. They have a great selection to achoose from and on the other side of the shop is an ice cream store which they also have amazing ice cream. Very refreshing on a hot summer day. I enjoyed the boats passing by the river walk. Overall great place for family!

River Street offers beautiful views of the river along with a nice variety of shops and restaurants to explore. It's a great place to stroll, relax, and enjoy the scenery—there are plenty of benches where you can sit and take it all in. One tip: avoid wearing heels! The cobblestone roads can be tough to walk on and aren’t heel-friendly at all. While River Street is definitely worth a visit, I personally found the Historic District to be even more charming and picturesque, so I wouldn’t spend all my time just by the river. That said, the riverboat tour is a lovely experience and a fun way to see more of the area.

We had an excellent time exploring the beautiful cobblestones streets in downtown Savannah, GA. River Street is packed with restaurants, shops and other activities for everyone to enjoy. We spent the entire day on River Street and still have more things we want to do on a return visit.
