Stayed 4 nights at the River Terrace Inn for a Thanksgiving trip to Napa that we booked through Costco (with a rental car from SFO - highly recommend if you don’t mind driving because the drive alone is gorgeous). It was wonderful! It was down season so was cooler and quiet and the price was unbeatable for this area. The hotel is simply beautiful. Room was a little tight on space but comfortable. The restaurant had a delicious breakfast we enjoyed daily before heading out to explore (was closed for lunch and dinner at the time) and we enjoyed a glass of wine back at the restaurant bar which was open in the evenings. Lovely decor and good vibes all around. The outdoor patio is gorgeous with plenty of seating, fire pits, and beautiful river views. The walk to the Ox Bow market (under 10min) and downtown (under 15min) along the river path was safe and easy. All of the staff were kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Just checked out after a 4 day stay. Really lovely property with huge, new rooms. Very clean. Great location just outside downtown. Dead quiet inside and out makes for a restful visit. Extremely friendly staff also. Gave us nice credit for the bar and a discount on the wine train. Really can’t recommend it enough for the money. Only small improvement would be to have more weights in the gym.

Beautiful hotel! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there it was very romantic and relaxing. Atmosphere felt more like a condo than a hotel. The staff was very pleasant and professional and the restaurant inside has amazing food! We wanted to be close to the Napa Valley Wine Train and its walking distance. Perfect location and getaway for us! I promise you won’t regret it.

Mundo checked us in and was so wonderful, informative, and kind! Our room was absolutely perfect, had a gorgeous river view, and the property is beautiful! We received a complimentary glass of wine at check in, and a voucher for drinks at the bar. Mundo gave us tons of recommendations for restaurants, wineries, and things to do in the area! |The location of the property is perfect! Walking distance to everything downtown, but still quiet and peaceful. |Highly recommend staying here! If you’re at the front desk and looking for recs, ask for Mundo!!

This is to update a review I made earlier. We had not received a copy of our invoice when I made the review. We have now, along with an apology for it taking a while. Thank you for that. As I mentioned earlier, we did have a wonderful stay. The place is beautiful, being well decorated. It is nicely designed and the outdoors patio is gorgeous and right on the path to the Oxbow Market. Furnishings are good- I wanted to bring the bed and pillows home with me. All of the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast bar was great. The staff did a very good job. ||In my original review I said I would probably not stay there again. I'll revise that to say that I will stay there again, but will ask for a paper copy of the receipt before I leave. I would also recommend this to friends.

The property location is great with its proximity to the heart of the City and Oxbow marketplace. We had a large group of over 20 people and this hotel was a great headquarters for everyone allowing us to do many things together and independently. We walked to the oxbow market, adjacent restaurants, and downtown from the hotel with ease. We congregated at the many fireplaces on the property, enjoyed cocktails in the bar area, and ate breakfast at the restaurant. Overall, this hotel was a very fun group stay for a 40th birthday. The hotel was very clean, the location was great, staff was very kind, and we enjoyed the experience. I would most certainly return to this property the next time I am in Napa with friends.

Google
The room was lovely for the most part. River view was great, and we loved the fire place. Location is fabulous! Walking distance to the Oxbow Market and downtown. I would suggest getting top floor if you can, as we could hear every foot fall of the people above us. The fact that there are louvered shutters between the bathroom and the rest of the room means there is very little privacy. We did not eat at the restaurant, but breakfast at the Buttercream Diner or Jax was delicious.

Google
Location of the hotel within walking distance to downtown, and a room with a fireplace and balcony overlooking the Napa River were the main reasons we booked. Once there we loved the ambiance and attention to detail in the hotel lobby, bar and the room. We found the staff to be friendly and acoomodating. There is a lovely area outside the hotel overlooking the river with sitting areas and we enjoyed soaking up some December afternoon sunshine in a couple of rocking chairs just watching the river flow.

Yelp
Stayed here while visiting Napa and the hotel accommodations went perfectly with our itinerary. Complimentary wine is given upon check in and the lobby has an earthy chic, barnyard feel with a spash of modern bookcases and unique chandeliers. All rooms come with everything you need including a fridge to store your wine and a coffee maker for the coffee you need after drinking alot of wine, lol. The beds, shower, tv, closet were all nicely equipped with cleanliness, extra towels, and extra trinkets for purchase. The bar closes at 10pm and bar/cafe serves breakfast. After hours hit up the vending machines or one of the restaurants, markets, or stores all within again walking distance. It was all about location as we were going on the wine train which is directly across the street. While walking to our days activities there's a beautiful lake and they have a fire pit to keep warm. At night it's all dim lighted giving a sense of coziness too. Hotel was perfect for our wine adventure

Yelp
I came here for a FAM trip and stayed at the River Terrace Inn. I was greeted with a friendly smile upon arrival and check in. As I was checking in, I was offered a welcome glass of white wine. It was a lovely touch. My room had a fantastic view of the patio and river. The bed and the room was very comfortable. I really loved the Bluetooth speaker from the bathroom mirror. The restaurant downstairs serves up really fresh ingredients for breakfast and the cappuccino was great!

Yelp
The River Terrace Inn was an enjoyable place to stay in Napa that was affordable and convenient to downtown. Our room was spacious and had a patio overlooking the rear of the hotel and the river. Room amenities included a fridge, nice bathroom, full sized toiletries, a coffeemaker and plenty of room to plug in and get some work done if needed. We were directly above the hotel bar, so could hear a bit of the music they were playing from our room, but that always shut down by 10 PM. We didn't try the hotel restaurant, but it does offer a limited breakfast menu in the AM and cocktails in the evening. There is also an on-site gym and you can rent bikes directly from the hotel. All things downtown are a pretty short walk from the hotel. You'll need to drive to wineries, but that was expected and easy to do if you have a car. Definitely a place that we're likely to stay at again when visiting Napa in the future.

Joji M.

Yelp
Nice Hotel, in an area close to everything including the Napa Wine train, which is a 5 min walk. Front Desk people were pretty nice, and were pretty helpful. The wife needed a razor and they had one at no charge. The room was a little small for the price, but it was still really nice. Had fun here, but may explore other hotels next time around, although again it was perfect to just walk to oxbow market and the Napa wine train from the hotel, plus there's the river walking area which is quite beautiful. Oh one more thing, the wine and water they leave in the room are for sale, but they do have cucumber water in the lobby, but that's only for small paper cups.

Brian M.

Yelp
Kathryn in the restaurant was awesome. Went out of her way to greet and get us seated promptly. Outstanding hospitality professional and made my wife and i's visit exceptional. Very relaxing seating outside on the riverfront. Outstanding burger, fries and churro dessert! Will return

Leslie H.

Yelp
Love this sweet hotel. Wine upon check in and super pup friendly. Had a nice breakfast on the patio by the river. The staff is just wonderful- friendly and accommodating. Our pup- Fred- loves the dog bed! And sitting by the river.

Rich Q.

Yelp
Came here for a Brian McKnight concert and wanted to stay near by. First impression was the property looked clean and nice. Workers greeted you right away. We were able to check in early and had a chance to walk a bit around the property. Really nice backside next to a creek. Fire pits and lots of seating, seemed very private and relaxing. Room was nice and clean. Decently sized fridge and bed was comfortable. Enjoyed our stay here and we will be back! Thank you!

Claire S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The lobby is beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was great during our New Year's trip. The hotel sits on the Napa River, and there is a great walking path out back. You can walk to the Oxbow Public Market in just a few minutes, and you can also walk to downtown Napa in about 12 minutes or so. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room itself was pretty soundproof, but we could hear music and whole conversations in the bathroom--not a big deal for us. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you're coming to Napa.

Sam P.

Yelp
This hotel is very nice and accommodating. Room was clean, they have a bar and restaurant downstairs. They also have chairs by the river to relax. Walking distance to Oxford market. More for adults, not kids.

Yelp
Staycations are a great starting point for people who are curious about the traveling experience but aren't ready to venture out too far. But what makes a staycation worth it? Why spend the money locally when there is so much world to see? The most significant factors are location, food, and hotel accommodation experiences. If you venture into Napa, I recommend visiting the River Terrace Inn. The hotel's exterior is serene, quiet, and covered in nature. The hotel interior gave the impression of rustic meets modern. The hotel offers a gym, outdoor seating, and a restaurant/bar. My first impression of the front desk reception was professional, polite, and informative. We were also greeted with a "complimentary" glass of wine. I was charged an additional 219.00 as a hold for any potential damages. I booked a junior suite. The room had a couch, comfortable chairs, and a coffee table. The queen-sized bed was shot and comfortable. You are also given a small refrigerator and plenty of closet space. My favorite parts of the room were the gorgeous fireplace and the private balcony overlooking the lake. The restroom is modern and spacious and offers both a spa-like tub (with massage jets) and a spacious shower. The hotel room experience was pleasant. The only issue with the hotel was the incredibly thin walls. It almost felt like you were in the room with the guest(s). Overall, I would give this hotel a chance if you want to experience a semi-luxury hotel experience.

Yelp
7/19/23 My friend, her 2 kids and I stayed here for one night. It's a beautiful hotel and has the typical amenities. But this hotel isn't as accommodating for children. There's nothing that makes it fun for kids to do around the hotel. There's a charge to turn on the tv and it wasn't displayed anywhere. Being charged $25 fee for turning on the tv is so absurd! Everything has a charge from the tv to the water bottles. I've stayed at 5 star hotels and resorts and never seen anything like this hotel and what it charges. There's nothing included with your stay besides a place to sleep. For the price of this hotel and all the various charges they expect, I will be going elsewhere for future stays if ever in the area again.

Yelp
***VALUABLE BAG STOLEN FROM MY ROOM This property only has video surveillance on 1st floor. Management provided me with a printed out copy of the door lock record log. It shows my hotel room door was opened when my husband and I were not on the premises. There is an asterisk symbol that is a tell tale sign that the door was opened by personnel with authority to override the key lock system. The hotel promptly filed a claim with their insurance company. Napa PD is awesome. Grateful for their prompt response. This is an ongoing investigation. I will update this post as the investigation progresses. Please share if you or someone you know have shared a similar experience. BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT - I did not come in contact with the general public during the check in process or while walking to my room. Zero people other than uniformed staff. I am confident this theft involved the staff at the River Terrace Inn until proven otherwise. Technician Sean has told me someone tugged at the door. Even though the reading says, door opened from inside for 17 seconds before closing.

Yelp
Fear coming time coming to river terrace inn lived it. The room was clean there was a balcony loved that. No microwave wished they had one. The outside patio was amazing nice and comfortable. Loved the tables and chairs facing the water. The tables do need to be wiped down. There was sticky stuff on the table I was at. Got it all over my arm. But overall nice place to stay.

Marcia T.

Yelp
Quiet, quaint, basic hotel. Great service from employees, everyone is nice. A lot of older people normally stay here. Not much activity. Small workout room, kind of like a basic tiny home gym. Rooms are basic except we had a balcony overlooking the parking lot. . NOTE: the walls a paper-thin! You hear EVERYTHING YOUR NEIGHBORS ALL AROUND ARE DOING. PAPER-THIN! (If you sneeze, we hear it, lol). Ijs. This place was so boring I didn't take any pictures. Not my cup-of-tea, but if you want a really quiet hotel THIS IS YOUR CHOICE. It's about a 7mins walk to downtown, which is GREAT! . There was so much going on downtown, we LOVED IT! I did take pictures of that. Lol. Alba the restaurant inside serve breakfast everyday til only 10:30am. Bacon and eggs are pretty good. That's it. I'm bored writing this , lol. See ya.

Yelp
Honestly this place was a huge disappointment. I am part of a large group here for a very fancy wedding at a 5 star resort and this was the hotel and block of rooms that were reserved . Here are some of the reasons why I would not recommend this place. A. A bit far from the wineries but close to downtown if that is a priority . B. There is a horribly moldy smell in the room likely emanating from the air conditioning unit. Additionally I could't turn the damn thing off no matter how I tried , it continued to cycle on and off throughout the day . Between the cold air, the moldy smell and the noise it continues to drive me crazy . Additionally, I now have both a headache and a cough which I attribute to the air conditioner . Also very noisy old unit which can be an issue . C. They serve a light breakfast only and there is literally nowhere to get a snack if you're hungry beyond chips and soda . Not great if you are here without a car. D. If you book this place , be sure to ask for the 3rd floor otherwise you will hear the people above you walking and it can be pretty irritating especially at night when you're trying to go to sleep. E. The elevators also a very noisy and you can hear the doors opening and closing from the room . At least I could in Room 207. F.Housekeeping takes forever to show up . I just decided to live with the room as is. G. The only amenity in the room is water for which they charge $7 for a 12 oz can. H. Online pics look a lot nicer than the actual rooms. I. The 'River" view is underwhelming but pleasant. J. Service i.e concierge is non existent . K.Ridiculously expensive for what it has to offer. Find something better.

Yelp
This Inn boasts the perfect location and phenomenal facilities for a trip to Napa. I stayed here for just one night and wished it could've been longer. We were greeted with glasses of wine and a gorgeous, clean room. The amenities including the fitness room were wonderful - well equipped and not too crowded. The morning of our stay there was a power outage, which the staff handled swiftly and professionally. They placed flashlights at the front desk for us and assured us that the issue would be fixed quickly, which it was. We were just a ten minute walk from downtown, where we ate dinner our first night and visited Oxbow Market the morning after. The convenience of this Inn was definitely the highlight. Next time, we'll be sure to also use the bikes provided by this place too!

Ruzz S.

Yelp
The hotel is located right on the Napa river just about a 5-minute walk to Oxbow Market. We had a nice room with a river view. Unfortunately, it was difficult to sit outside on our terrace and enjoy the scenery as the hotel is constantly blasting loud music from its terrace along with from the speakers outside the front of the hotel. Other downsides were that everything the hotel has to offer in the room - water, wine, glasses, etc. - has a pretty hefty price tag on it, which might be understandable in a lower tier hotel, but for the price we were paying a night, it just seems nickel-and-dime kind of stuff. Also, the shower head is old and not all the jets worked and the water pressure was low. In all, not the experience we had hoped for.

Kyle C.

Yelp
Although this hotel is on the pricier side, at least for what I'm used to, it didn't disappoint. Excellent welcoming by the staff and bellhop and we received complimentary wine and bottled water upon arrival, which was very nice. The food is pricey but very good for a hotel and the bartender Abraham was so nice and made wonderful drinks for our group throughout our stay. There isn't a pool but the back patio facing the river is so nice and tranquil I didn't really miss the pool much. The rooms were elegant, clean, had instant hot water, and were just very nice. Also, parking is easy and they have complimentary e-bikes to use to tour the area! Great hotel, especially if doing the wine-train, which is only a block away!

Tom H.

Yelp
Just not 'Napa Great'. Rooms are small and there nothing to do outside (no pool, spa, etc.).

Sarah H.

Yelp
This is a stunning hotel with outstanding service. Parking was a breeze, check-in a delight, and yes, I very much appreciate a glass of wine upon check in. I would return here without a second thought. I'd love to use the bikes provided, and experience the beautiful pool and grounds.

Dezmond B.

Yelp
I visited Napa Valley to propose to my now fiancée and we chose the River Terrace Inn to lay our head for the night. I truly enjoyed this hotel, the room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We told them we were just engaged and they provided us with a complimentary room upgrade and a $10 voucher for the bar. The room and bathroom were clean with fresh towels and linens. The location was ideal for a romantic getaway with outdoor seating around the property and a walking trail along the river located behind the hotel. My only flaw with the hotel was the nail clipping on the balcony but that was a small issue that does not outweigh the overall stay.

Thompson T.

Yelp
The River Terrace inn was NICE. Customer Service was 10/10. -As you arrive they say "FREE" water, wine, & bike experience. But if you pay attention to the fine print of your booking purchase, it says you'll be charged $30 for all 3 of those things at the end of your stay. -We stayed in the Luxury King room. Which was very nice and clean but I did find a few hairs in the bathroom. (Could've been the cleaning people possibly) 1 of the 2 elevators were not working at the time of our stay so we had to walk around the hotel more than we'd like to, but it was very clean everywhere. Food and drink at the bar was 10/10 We will visit again.

Allyssa P.

Yelp
Fantastic stay! Clean room, comfortable bed, down the street from Downtown Napa and so much more! My husband and I stayed for one night a few weekends again and we really enjoyed our stay. Their general check in time is 3pm, but we were able to check in a little early. Check in process was really easy and we even got a complimentary poor of Pinot! The room was spacious and clean. I liked that we had a full couch and the bed was so comfortable. The balcony was pretty small, just enough room to put a patio set out on but hardly any room to walk. Lol I really liked the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom! Probably my favorite part of the entire room. It was super convenient and nice. The Inn is literally down the street from Downtown Napa. We were able to walk around the market for a bit, come back to the hotel for drinks and then drive right back for dinner a few hours ago. Which was really nice. It's also not too far from the rest of wine country. We headed to Downtown Sonoma at one point and it was about a 15 minute drive. I booked this stay through my credit card points so the room was free, aside from the taxes. But, I would honestly pay the full price to stay here! It was nice, with a great location and very comfortable.

Rosie D.

Yelp
The Inn was just meh....for lack of a better word. I didnt hate it but didnt love it. Pros: 1. Short distance to Oxbow Market 2. Clean 3. The staff were super helpful and nice 4. I like the size of the inn. It was on the smaller size which I liked. I was able to enter the Inn and it was a short distance to my room. 5. I think each room has a small patio 6. Free water and glass of wine at check in desk. Cons: 1. We stayed in a 2 queen bed room. The room was on the smaller size. 2. The tub was also small. Sufficient for a child to use but and adult absolutely not. They should just covert it into a shower instead of tub/shower combo. 3. In room amenities were incomplete. The room has a little coffee station but it was only stocked with enough supplies for one person to have coffee. No tea provided. No disposable toiletries provided like cotton swabs. We would stay at this Inn again? Yes only if there wasnt a better option and if I could get the room at a good price.

Marsena V.

Yelp
Overrated place. Our rooms hot water wasn't working they moved us, we didn't receive our wine & charcuterie board that we asked for in advance two days prior. Room was nice had everything we wanted & they have complimentary (1hr) bike rentals. Didn't waste time with the restaurant or bar.

Brian S.

Yelp
Very nice accommodations overall and pretty friendly and helpful staff. A couple (maybe minor) quibbles on the lack of consistency. First, the hotel was recommended by Delta Vacation rep. Upon arrival, we had to schlep our bags from curb to room. Check in was great and we were able to get a food order in before the kitchen closed. The property is located near downtown and everything was pretty walkable. No water in the room, so I had to use my stainless thermos at the conveniently located water stations near the elevators. The room was clean and very nice with a jet tub. No helpful tips on using the tub could be found, but we figured it out. A map with walking or jogging routes and mileage would have been nice since the fitness center was sub par. Ok, frankly it was cramped and sad for anyone who lifts weights at all. Like give me some dumbbells at least. Breakfast was good, service not very attentive. Dinner offerings were limited menu ,but just about everything was prepared well. A listing of nearby tasting rooms would have been nice to offer guests or have in room.

Priya K.

Yelp
This is a very overpriced hotel for very minimum services. The only good thing is location, walking distance from Oxbow market. But I would rather stay at an embassy suites for half the price and just drive to oxbow market and park there. For over $600 a night plus resort fee, i didn't feel it was worth it. They don't have pool or spa. The on-site restaurant is super busy for breakfast, we were told over 30 mins wait. Rooms are average, the balcony is so narrow, you can barely use. The river side room had no view of the river. I liked the Bluetooth built in the bathroom mirror.

Stu E.

Yelp
We enjoyed our four night stay at this hotel overlooking the Napa River, within easy walking distance via a nice walkway to the Oxbow Market and the CIA at Copia. It's also an easy walk to downtown Napa that is loaded with great restaurants, bars and wine tasting rooms. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We really liked our 2nd floor room location overlooking the river and a nice patio area. We had light breakfast a couple of beautiful mornings out on our small deck. The hotel has a small bar and restaurant area for breakfast or small bites at happy hour but not a complete lunch or dinner service. Our package stay included a great tour of three wineries on one day, and a great lunch on the Napa Wine Train on another day - the hotel took care of all the reservations and that worked out well for us. The bathroom/shower would be a bit awkward for some since the shower is located inside a jacuzzi tub. Not a problem for us but some would have trouble stepping over the side of the tub into the shower. Our only negative was that we could hear conversations in the room next door and footsteps from the room above us - I'd expect a bit better sound insulation in a hotel at this price point. Still we had a nice stay and we hope to return to the River Terrace Inn at some point in the future.

Nessa R.

Yelp
My sisters and I had a great experience at river terrace inn! Check in was easy and was very grateful redeeming the gift certificate was easy too! The concierge was helpful in answering our questions about the bike rentals the front desk agent was very friendly and offered us complimentary wine and let us know water at the front desk is free, but the waters in the room we are charged for. We were able to enjoy our complimentary wine riverside too on their patio which was very relaxing :) we debated on whether on not to rent bikes since oxbow market was just down the riverside trail, but we decided to save this for our next stay in Napa. I had come here previously with my husband and they were under renovation and we are happy with the new renovations! It very much more updated! My sisters and I stayed in the king suite with the fireplace and it was so cozy. We also had drinks at the bar and stayed by a firepit for a little bit. The location of the inn was perfect too since it was only a few minutes walk from downtown. We didn't have to worry about driving and my car got to charge at the their Tesla charger onsite as well(so convenient!). Overall, it was a stress-free, relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone stay in Napa since it's so central to everything and the customer service is great :)

Yelp
Same price as The Westin and The Westin is 10x nicer. This is an Inn And had good reviews, should have known. We just expected more for the price point and being Napa. We stayed here for Bottle Rock. Their normal rates here are also the same as the Westin $300/$400 a night and for the Bottle Rock/memorial weekend it was $1400 a night. It was half a mile away from the event which was a plus and thought that it is okay to spend that much since it was rated well even as an Inn and priced the same as The Westin. The outside of the building looked older and did look like an Inn. 3 stories. The initial bar area looked nice, but when we got to the room levels it was older. I always check the rooms before we unpack, but never have I had to check the water temperatures for the shower water. We showered late at night around 12am after Bottle Rock on Friday and the water was hot, no cold water. Thought that was weird. The AC was being weird so we were hot and cold all night. Showered again in the AM on Saturday and the water was so hot it was unbearable!!!! Maybe because we showered so early no one used the water and on Friday a lot of people were using the water so it wasn't as hot. We called concierge to complain and they had someone look at it and he said he could t do anything about it because it was behind the wall around 9:30am? He said that they would call us back to let us know. They offered to change our room but we had everything all laid out and preferred to just get it fixed. They stated they would have someone there by 2:30. 5pm rolls around and no one. We had to leave to Bottle Rock. They messaged us around 6-7 pm that they were ready to fix our shower and it would be a mess because they had to take the shower apart to get to the back to fix it. We declined at this point because we don't want people working in the room with our belongings. We showered again on Sunday with the scorching hot water. The tub was a Jacuzzi and a very high step to get into it. It was also awkwardly stationed where the faucet to the tub was where you step in from. The jets were filled with dirt and mildew inside. We also informed concierge of this and they stated they would clean it, but we declined and decided to just not use it. When we checked out the receptionist stated that the manager offered $100 off total. We asked for $100 off each night. She stated she had to ask her supervisor and they would email us back with a response because they were not there for us to speak to. There was no response, they just reduced $100 and charged us $2500 for two nights instead of $2600. When we checked in we had a person named Miles that helped us. We were given the California discount and destination fee removed on top of that he stated we would get a $40 voucher towards food and drinks, which was nice. So we ordered drinks at the bar total of $75 or more on the second day. We asked at check out how come that wasn't in our bill showing a $40 voucher. She stated that there is nothing in their notes for that and she would have to ask the manager for approval. She then also laughed and stated that Miles is unfortunately not with the company anymore. Well oh great, because we wouldn't have bought those drinks if we didn't have a $40 voucher. It was taken off on the final bill which was nice If the destination fee was for all the extra amenities that this Inn provides, it's horrible because the jacuzzi's jets were unsanitary, the wifi didn't work half the time and their AC wasn't working properly. Point is- very disappointed stay and would never return to this establishment.

Yelp
We stayed at the River Terrace Inn on our honeymoon in 2013, and returned for our ten-year wedding anniversary for nostalgia's sake. You are given a free wine tasting upon arriving, and give out bottled water aplenty. Our room had a balcony where we sat and enjoyed breakfast. You are given a 10 dollar voucher toward food or drink to use at the hotel's restaurant for each night you stay. The bar has happy hour from 4:30-6:30 with some really beautiful cocktails for only $10 each. They also had small bites, including the crispy potatoes which have a delicious seasoning. The kitchen packages the seasoning for you to take home free of charge. The hotel has a path along the river and is centrally located in downtown, with a quick walk to the Oxbow market. You are able to rent bikes for free and travel into town. We will certainly return in another ten years, if not sooner!

Yelp
Feel a bit bait-and-switched. Chose this hotel based on pictures and assumed the high price was for a nice experience I wanted to surprise the wife with. We were looking for somewhere we could relax and chill if the weather ended up rainy, the photographer who took the pictures on hotels.com gets a 5/5 because they did an amazing job making it look much better than it really is. We were disappointed to find we paid a lot because of the weekend and holiday upcharge and not for the quality of the hotel room. I uploaded pictures of the room and wish I looked on yelp and not just decided based on the hotels.com pictures. Staff and location were 5/5. Very close proximity to a lot of downtown Napa staples like the wine train and oxbow market. Staff found my sons sleeping-stuff animal on the ground and returned it and always were pleasant and kind.

Yelp
Just stayed here in Mid Jan. Excellent experience. Check in was delayed a bit because of a large multi family party in front of us. They immeidately offered us an upgrade and a credit for the delayed check in without us even asking for it. Restaurant/Bar is great for a drink. Breakfast sandwich was surprisingly the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. Rooms were great, location is walking distance to downtown and a short drive to wineries that we were interested in. I will absolutely be staying here the next time we come to visit.

Yelp
We started planning our wedding in the middle of 2020 during the heigh of COVID and lockdowns. When we finally decided to dramatically decrease the size of our wedding, we came across River Terrace Inn which had the perfect luxurious but intimate ambiance we were looking for. During the planning stages, all of our contacts were incredibly helpful and patient. They answered my gajillion questions, and continued to do so when they were followed by a gajillion more. They accommodated pretty much everything we asked for. There were times were I thought the responses could be a little faster but let's be real, we're in the middle of a pandemic - everyone is short staffed and often unsure of what can and can't be done at any given time. For the wedding itself, there were more people on staff to help out than I was expecting. Additionally a few days before, we informed there was an issue with yellowjackets so we had to relocate the reception, but they came prepared with a solution that required little work and was probably even more ideal than the original setup. One of the servers made it their mission to make sure that both the bride and groom had a plate of hors d'oeuvres for them after the ceremony (the poor guy couldn't find me the first 5 times). Most of our guests stayed here and had a wonderful time. All the rooms looked like they did in on the website, and the junior suite (overlooking the river) we stayed in was huge. RTI was also able to honor our requests for a couple room placements (to ensure that the bride and groom don't cross paths while getting ready). Everyone that worked there were very kind and willing to help. However, we would have loved to see the bar/restaurant open later than 8pm.

Yelp
Perfect location - 15 minute walking distance to downtown and just 5 minutes walk along the river to Oxbow Public Market, Gott's, Fatted Calf and Model Bakery. Check in was smooth -- we arrived way too early after a hike and was super happy to hear that the room was ready. Didn't splurge for the nice upgraded rooms as the rates were too steep for a last minute booking. The older rooms still felt clean and nice; however, probably still not worth what I paid, but after COVID, feels like all the prices have increased (and also it's the summer and everyone is just wanting to get out of the house they've been stuck in for the past 16 months.) Next time, I'd choose a room facing the river in the newly renovated rooms for a pampered weekend getaway. Happy hour is 4-7pm and they had live music outdoors from 5:30pm-8pm ish. It was wonderfully relaxing to sit in the outdoor dining space by the river and enjoy the music. However, the menu is super limited; but on the plus side, the salmon I had was cooked perfectly with medium rare doneness and super crispy skin. The only hiccup I experienced was the electronic lock on my door malfunctioned -- which took 3 trips to the front desk to sort out. No pool on premises; as you walk past The Westin, which is next door, and see guests enjoying the pool, it does kinda make you envious though. Still, a wonderful stay in the heart of downtown Napa.

Yelp
This is a really quaint hotel with gorgeous views of the river. It's walking distance to the public market and all that downtown Napa has to offer. The rooms were on the small side but I LOVED the big bathtub with the half wall divider that can be opened up. I don't know what it is about bathing in the living room that screams LUXURY and ROMANCE to me. You fancy, huh? The room service was delicious and we wanted to eat it down at the charming restaurant, but it was hardly ever open, although they may have reduced hours due to Covid. Although this is truly a nice hotel, I have to be honest, it didn't seem very Napa like. Rather than having the feel of a resort or B&B like most have come to expect in Napa, it had almost more of a corporate boutique hotel feel. However, for a great downtown Napa more urban experience, this is a good choice!

Yelp
The prices and the services did not match! The cost Lack of transparency from booking to front desk. Power outages with no generator! Overall, extremely negative experience for my first trip to Napa. I'll have to follow up with Napa train wine tasting tours and let them know no about my experience since they spoke so highly about this hotel.. FYI there are more accommodating hotels the area.

Yelp
Wow...we loved this Inn. Our check in was seamless even with our dog. Our room was perfect with a balcony to contemplate the serene river and path outside. We were the shortest walk away to Oxbow Market so we went there to get our dinner and bring it back to the hotel. Our dog loved the walk. Inside the room was clean and inviting. The towels were big and luxurious. It was our belated Valentine and they had the room set up with cookies and balloons. So nice! We loved our stay. It is super expensive and to haev a dog costs an extra $75. We never got the dog bed and now so that was weird and disappointing. I guess we could have called but using the phone on vacation is a downer. haha I still recommend the place. The parking is very easy and close to the hotel. One weird thing, we asked at the restaurant if we could get a side of ranch dressing and they charged us $1. I don't know. After paying about $600 to stay there, it seems like they could give us the tiny helping that they did for free. The waiter was apologetic and said it was because the kitchen said it is homemade. Well, still. It was about a tablespoons worth of white cream with a lot of dill. Not a fan and not worth $1.

Yelp
Zero rating for this location. Our first trip ladies trip to celebrate me and my twins birthday. Although this location was recommended by the Napa Valley Train station. I don't recommend @ all. The supervisor Mondo lacked customer service as well as accountability for our requested reservation for joining rooms, check in date was Feb 3,2024. To top it the following morning 5am power went out. We checked out and was told by dean the manager we would receive email with receipt and we would not be charged for the stay on the day we checked out Feb 4th 2024. 1. Price don't match experience 2. Lack of leadership from both Dean and Mondo 3. The hotel website and pricing does not match the actual experience. Needs upgrades. 4. Lack of follow up and follow through 5. Holds need to be released from card in a timely matter, I understand it takes 3-5 days. However, the 3 to 5 days don't start from the day released. Which Mondo stated he don't show we get refund. Umm how do you charge for a stay in which guess checked out. He's a supervisor. Lack of leadership. I don't recommend this hotel @ all. 6. Mondo please keep that fake smile and lack of empathy to yourself.

Yelp
I was impressed with the "curb appeal" of the property! The valet/bellhop was very inviting as well. They also had 3 EV chargers which was great. Our room was exactly as the pictures showed, which was a relief. The fireplace in the room created a nice atmosphere as well as the view of the river from our own balcony. Definitely a great spot for a romantic getaway!

Yelp
This is a pretty nice hotel overlooking the river and has a nice walking and bicycle path right outside its doors. It's a pretty short path but will take you to the heart of Downtown Napa. It comes with a nice brunch and dinner restaurant which are not comped, a small but efficient gym and an area to host events. There were four of us who came and were offered a large room at the end of the hall that was "wheelchair accessible" which was nice because the room was spacious enough for two beds and plenty of floor space for our luggage but the bummer was that it backed up to the kitchen and a conference room. Imagine our shock when we came back from wine tasting a little blitzed to see crowds of people lined up looking right into our room because that is where the bartender set up. Then we heard kitchen talk as we tried to nap after frantically closing all the blinds and curtains. As far as activities go...there is no pool, but they do have a yoga instructor that comes on weekend mornings and live music was on the patio as well.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Napa and seeing how beautiful the rooms were in the photos. There was plenty of parking right out from when we got in and throughout our stay we never had an issue finding a spot. When we checked in we received a bottle of wine and two chocolates as well as a taste of their house wine, which was wonderful to experience! We got a river view side room and while it didn't look anything like the photos online, it was still very nice. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and it had a cute balcony to sit out on and look at the river. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, which is fantastic, however if you are in your room on the waterfront side it is quite loud. Additionally the insulation doesn't seem too good between rooms either. We could actually hear our neighbors talking and even snoring at night. They also blasted their music very loud but it was nice of the hotel staff to ask them to turn it down. The gym was very small, basically full if you have 3 people in it. So keep that in mind if you want to work out during your stay. The staff was all very nice and quick to help with anything you needed.

Yelp
Great location - walkable to any area you'd want to visit on foot in DT Napa. It's definitely expensive, but that's Napa for you! Free parking and restaurant onsite with a gorgeous walking path to the back of the property -- it leads to Oxbow market and an open park where they host Bottlerock. Will be bookmarking for future stays!

Yelp
I booked a Junior Suite with my fiance on 8/16/2020 for a quick getaway. It was actually supposed to be our wedding day, but we postponed it given the pandemic. Rather than being home on what was supposed to be our special day, I spent weeks researching hotels from Mendocino to Big Sur for which accommodations would be "safe" to stay in. In the end, I chose the River Terrace Inn and I'm so glad I did! Let's get to the details: 1. Check-in: I arrived at 3pm (which is the check-in time) and it was a breeze. I'm sure you'd be able to check-in earlier if needed too. Two employees at the counter, both with masks, and I didn't see anyone else checking in. Got the keys within minutes and was on my way. 2. Junior Suite: Everything felt clean and brand new. Jetted tub was great (according to the fiance), I do recommend bringing a bath bomb or your own epsom salt (they do have it for $7 dollars too). Given COVID-19, I wanted a bigger room to enjoy that had access to a balcony for fresh air, I only wished the Napa River view was better given it was blocked by trees, but that's not on the hotel obviously. Loved the fireplace, dual sinks, and rainfall shower head as well. All and all would book this room again -- can't speak to any other room right now. 3. Hotel Amenities: Didn't use much of the paid ones, but parking was plentiful. I did self-parking (which is my preference), but valet is supposed to be free too. If you have a Tesla, they have 2 charging stations too. I did have a chance to enjoy the bar, which had a nice selection of cocktails and spirits. I only wish they closed later than 9pm. Pre-covid the hotel did provide bikes, but unfortunately not anymore. I do see some complaints here about "no room service" or "can't order a drink without food" etc. There are things the hotel controls and things that are mandatory set by state laws, it's not really fair to ding them on something they can't control. I was the Ritz in Half Room bay recently and it's 100% the exact same. 4. Location: Great place if you're looking to be near downtown Napa. It was less than a 8 minute walk to the Oxbow Public Market or a quick 3 minute drive. Downtown was a quick 4 minute drive as well. I purposely booked this location in mind, given the downtown hotels would be much busier. 5. Safety: Overall, I felt safe being at this hotel. All staff members were always in masks and every high-touch area had hand sanitizer close-by. For example, the elevators had a bottle right next to the elevator button. Also, they supposedly keep your room unoccupied for 24 hours prior to your stay. Given our room was on the 3rd floor, we planned to not share any elevator rides with any other guest (this is a high risk situation for all parties since there's no ventilation or space to physically distance), but thankfully we never had too and we had our own elevator each time. If you need more info, they have a dedicated page on their website talking about all their safety measures.

Yelp
Mixed review here. On the Pro side of things, very nice room overlooking the Napa river and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The big negative however was the dining. Virtually everything we ordered over a few days bordered on inedible. It's sad to have to ding this place that has a lot going for it but the food was truly awful.

Yelp
Husband and I stayed here last weekend for a mini get-away for his birthday. We booked using the Travelzoo deal which saved us a tiny bit of money for normally really pricey Napa hotels. Hotel and room itself was clean although a bit run down looking. Our room had a balcony so enjoyed the fresh air. . Breakfast was included but didn't have very many options. Mainly, juices, coffee, breads, cereal and oatmeal. Overall, we had no problems and would possibly stay here again if they had a deal.

Yelp
I would definitely stay here again. We are staying for two nights in late March 2021, our first visit. The check in was delayed and I never received a text to check in. But, after they sorted that out, all has been perfect. Our room is large and faces the Napa River with a small balcony. The view is very relaxing, and we got to see a full moon rising behind the trees and often see kayakers. The bathroom is really large and we have nice sized jacuzzi tub/shower. I love how there are counters and areas to place all of our stuff.

Yelp
We had a lovely two night stay at this inn this week. The location was great - close to downtown Napa and the Oxbow Market. Everything else we needed or wanted was a short drive away. Our room did not face the river but we still had a nice little balcony that let in a breeze. The beds were comfortable and internet was fine. There were only two things that would have made our stay better. First, some of the pillowcases were stained gray/black. I'm sure they were clean, just stained, but it was off-putting. Second, the breakfast that was offered at the hotel was inadequate. They offered toast, bagel and cereal. Maybe muffins. I can't eat any of those things for breakfast. Even cold hard-boiled eggs would have been satisfactory. One idea the kitchen could do is to offer a small menu of hot/protein breakfasts available for pre-order the night before. There are no breakfast places nearby so we had to order in one morning since we were without a car that morning. Overall, we were very happy with our stay!

Yelp
Tough to recommend River Terrace Inn. The property is decent enough. It's clean and has there usual amenities. It's in a pleasant enough location and has a nice outdoor area for cocktails or coffee. But while the staff are pleasant, the operation generally seems ineptly managed. We visited in October 2021. There were many hotel guests and yet every night the bar closed promptly at 8:00 PM. Dozens of people would wander down to the bar only find it closed. On one night the bar closed even earlier because of "system problems." When a fellow guest suggested just putting a drink charge on his room tab the wait staffer matter of factly told us the missing bartender would usually do that "but tonight he's trying to do a little as possible." Throughout the day a sort of easy alternative music plays throughout the property. It's nice enough but a little loud, which is no big deal in the afternoons and evenings, perhaps. But oddly, the music starts at around 7:15 each morning and on hallway speakers directly outside the guest rooms, leaving little chance of sleeping in. On one morning before 7:00 a cart, presumably filled with glass and silverware, noisily clanked down the long hallway by our room on its way to a conference room Every operation has issues from time to time, of course, but we were unfortunate to visit after a small kitchen fire, someone explained, so dinner service would be cold items only. All of this might be OK at $200 or $300 a night, but seems less reasonable at $450+ a night. Can't help but feel there are better alternatives to River Terrace Inn.
