River Tiber

The Tiber River is the third longest in Italy and location of the founding of Rome on its Eastern banks. The river is much intertwined with the history of the city as well as the myth of the city founders Romulus and Remus. You can experience the Tiber by crossing any number of bridges that link the two sides of the city, connecting important and popular districts such as Trastevere and the Vatican City to the west of the Tiber with the Historic Centre of Rome on the east side of the river. Some of the bridges that span the Tiber are enjoyable to visit and walk. Ponte Fabricio which crosses Isola Tiberina dates back to 62 BC and is the oldest remaining bridge in Rome while Ponte Sant'Angelo is probably the most scenic, lined with Bernini statues of the Saints and affording pedestrians with views of St. Peter's Basilica. You can also walk the sides of the Tiber taking in view of the river and its lovely bridges. This can be a nice leisurely activity and opportunity to find some breaks from the crowds elsewhere in Rome.

It’s a refreshing and cool place to go when you’re in rome, if you’re traveling throughout the city I’d recommend following the tiber. Thought not so scenic and sometimes dirty, you still get a more relaxed tour. (Also much quicker than walking through town)

Walking along the River Tiber in Rome Italy is really peaceful. Thie giant Plane Trees all along the River add to the peace and tranquility. Stunning architectural bridges cross over the river. It's the route towards Vatican City and Castle Del'Angelo. I loved the cheeky Seagulls always out hustling. All along the The West Side of the banks are many little stalls under the beautiful lane of trees.

On our way to Trastevere, we liked the river we came across. It is a pleasant walking path with its refreshing view. It is a perfect option if you want to take beautiful photos on your trip to Rome. The photos come out like a painting. The sound of the water is relaxing. For a while, it makes you feel like you are out of the city and in the natural life. Still, the environment could be kept cleaner. We wish it was more attentive.

Great place to see the sunset on your trip and take some amazing photos with your friends.The thing is that it’s not only you who got this idea and you will have to fight for a spot for pictures.But don’t get discouraged,it’s worth it.The river is very pretty and seems to be clean.Definitely recommend visiting

Tíbera (Italian Tevere) is the third longest river in Italy. The capital city of Rome stands by the river. In the time of ancient Rome, the river carried everything possible with it. Even today, it does not have a very healthy color, and it is probably not suitable for swimming either. There are quite a few bridges across the river. I still prefer Ponte Saint Angelo.
