Really beautiful trail that provides a combination of wide open landscapes and forest areas. It has a good mix of challenging hills and relatively flat area. We rented an E-bike from New Paltz Biking, which made all the challenging areas a breeze. This is a mixed use trail, so bikers have to conscious of other users who might be jogging, walking or hiking. The trail can also take you further into the Mohonk preserve - entrance fees are required at some points- which is also a beautiful ride. Extremely well worth the visit and absolutely ranks as one of my favorite trails to date!

I went on this trail around a year ago and it was very fun, scenic, and great for beginner bikers. The trail was very smooth, with no bumps or obstacles. Me and my family biked the trail for 16 miles. There were also some beautiful views, the fields looked like something out of a dream! 😍 Overall, I really enjoyed this trail and I guarantee you will too.

10/2020: Beautiful, spacious gravel path meandering through fields and meadows. Keep in mind there’s no shade. Great for walking/running and biking. Mostly flat, with incline in a couple areas. Easy difficulty level for all ages. You eventually come to a gorgeous view of the mountains. So beautiful with the leaves changing! Clean, well maintained. Large, free parking lot. Dogs are welcome but must be on leash. No bathroom facilities on site. You might even see some cows on your walk! We walked, but would definitely love to come back and bike ride. Easy to social distance.

It was the first week of November on a perfect weather day we chose to explore this trail. There was a biking event going on and a couple of horse riders and several families with dogs. The splendid views and meadows with cows grazing made it one of the most memorable hiking trails. We walked 6 miles and it was an enchanting, easy trail. It was medicine for the soul.

Great trail! Easy and doable for anyone or any animal. My doggo has loved it! There’s a garbage can by the porta potties to throw out any doggie poo.

This trail opened exactly 3 years ago, September 8, 2018. I am attaching a couple of pictures from that day. The trail is much used and well-maintained and provides a nice link from the town of NewPaltz and the rail trail to the Mohonk foot hills and the Mohonk Preserve. There is a spacious parking area off Springtown Road. Enjoy!
