"Bordered by grazing cows and pristine salt marshes, gliding down the slow-moving Waveney is picturesque. You'll want to do a two-mile loop around Outney Common - just watch out for canoes."

Lovely river to walk by, especially fun if you have dogs... beautiful spots all around Suffolk and Norfolk. These images were taken near Oakley, a village in Suffolk.

Love the upper Waveney Valley especially in spring when the marshes are full of spring flowers. Good for walking with a footpath the Angles Way winding in and out of the valley from its source at Lopham Fen a nature reserve famous for its Raft spiders to its destination at Yarmouth, 93 miles in total passing through all the main valley towns of Diss, Harleston, Bungay, Beccles and Oulton Broad.

One of the finest rivers in the UK. Historical, picturesque, peaceful and simply stunning. With so much that is navigable by boats of varying sizes and with the many riverside views and stop points including a few traditional pubs, what could be better?
