A guide around England from London Gatwick for every type of traveller - SilverKris

"A family-owned, nearly five-hectare garden open seasonally from March to October, renowned for its meticulously maintained flower gardens, woodlands, modern sculptures and sweeping views over Kent. Highlights include a terraced Walled Garden with amphitheatre-style grass, fountains and a central sculpture by Julian Wild, a scented Rose Walk lined with hundreds of blooms, and the Mini Everest viewpoint above a hedge maze." - Astrid Hofer

This garden is absolutely stunning, especially during the rhododendron season. I am sure it is beautiful all year round, but I was blown away by the colourful blooming rhododendron, and a woodland full of bluebells during my visit in the late spring. The maze is fun and the view of the surrounding area from the top is fab too. It would be interesting to revisit during a different season to enjoy the seasonal changes.

A magical garden full of surprises. Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is one of those rare places that feels both grand and intimate. Beautiful views across the valley, whimsical wildflower borders, secret benches tucked into brick alcoves, and woodland paths dotted with sculptures it is a garden built for wandering slowly and sitting often. The fern grotto is enchanting, cool and green, like stepping into another world. Every corner feels thoughtfully planted, and there is always something different to see with the seasons. There is a lovely café and shop, and the gardens are very family-friendly. Some of the paths are steep, so sensible shoes are wise. Parking is easy, and there is plenty of space to picnic on sunny days. A peaceful, magical garden well worth the visit.

Just WOW this place is absolutely beautiful! Lots to do and lots to see! The staff were all very friendly particularly those in the cafe who were very friendly and careful with cross contamination due to my allergies! Will definitely be visiting again and even considering buying a annual pass we enjoyed it that much!

Really lovely gardens! Beautiful flowers and trees - some formal gardens but also lovely paths going here and there! Some rough and hilly and a bit steep for wheelchairs but the main part of the gardens would be lovely for anyone. Staff were friendly and very helpful - great cafe and lovely pots of tea! A lovely day out for family ! ….and we will definitely be going again!

We enjoyed our visit on Saturday very much. The bluebells were spectacular, as were the Rhododendrons and azaleas. The paths, though a bit steep in places, were, on the whole, well maintained and the cafe was busy and well stocked with plenty of choice. We also liked the craft fair and thought that the plants and garden gifts were very well priced. NB it's a cash free garden, so pay by card only.

A lovely and peaceful place to visit near Sevenoaks in Kent there is a walled garden with a water feature and lovely covered area to sit at the top. Next door is the Primrose meadow which at the moment ( March ) is carpeted in the pretty yellow blooms. You will also find the hidden rock garden which was abandoned for 70 years and has only recently been cleared and brought back to life. There is a pond there with water gently trickling in. At the moment there are numerous frogs and plenty of frog spawn. Next I went up into the woods and made my way all the way up to the viewpoint. You are rewarded for your efforts as you have a magnificent view over the Kentish Weald. Moving on and downwards there is a great woodland play area for kids and from there the path winds down to your starting point. There is a rose walk next to the walled garden, there was little to see at this time but I'm sure it will be beautiful in a few months. As you journey around the site you will find plenty of places to sit, rest and watch the world go by and there are picnic tables at various points too! There is a cafe on site but beware, they do not accept cash, I find this most frustrating. The outside area of the cafe is lovely in the sunshine and there were plenty of people enjoying the warm day. There is also a little shop just opposite the entry booth. Entry is £13 for an adult but a yearly membership is only £36. RHS members can visit for free on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Parking is free for all There are toilets on site There are numerous activities and events taking place throughout the year.

Visited on the weekend, we were looking for a place to break off from the London environment... On arrival it was quite busy, but still couple of spaces on car park which was quite generous... We stopped at the coffee shop for a panini and a sandwich with coffee and we tasted the cherry lemon cake... We went up to viewpoint ( nice views ) and than we walked through the bluebell paths ( small area of wood land )... We walked through the garden up the rocks path to viewpoint again... Benches everywhere through woods, you can stop and sit down, meditate or simply enjoy the nature... Nice space, nice garden design and floral/ trees arrangements... There are 2 impressive pines which captured our attention... Overall is a nice space for spending couple of hours between flowers and trees ( especially like this time of year when bluebells and blossoms season)... Not far from London... Excellent day out, we had a good time here... Worth visiting, and will be back... ( I would change the flag from viewpoint as quite old... A new one would do better )
