The Teak House (Riverhouse Hotel)

Great place. Lots of motorcyclists stop here as well as cyclists. Diner was phenomenal! Breakfast is a bit more basic but still satisfying. The whole place is teak. Gives it a cottage feel. It has a beautiful view of the river. Room is very decent size. Bathroom was good and shower was hot. Always a plus in my books. I recommend this place.

One night stopover on the Mae Hong Son loop. Really nice ambience. Hotel dining balcony overlooking the river. Room balcony spacious and overlooking the river. Enjoyed dinner there. As in the title of the accommodation, great wood everywhere.

Very clean however as it’s made of teak, there is no noise insulation, hence may not be suitable for light sleeper but overall pleasant experience to stay

We spent one night at the hotel, the room was comfortable but like others have previously mentioned you could hear guests in the next rooms. |Staff were ok, reception didn’t really greet us throughout our stay. |We didn’t use the swimming pool. |Breakfast was poor. They had fruits and a couple of local hot foods. They had a tray with precooked fried eggs that they kept replenishing. I was very disappointed as I would have expected the hotel to cook fresh eggs to order as it only takes a few minutes and means less waste of the pile of fried eggs they had. |We were on a tour and this was the suggested hotel but if visiting the area again we would look to stay somewhere else.

Loved the view of the river from the balcony. The bed was comfy (although we had more pillows than we knew what to do with), and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was delicious. See pic #3: I think it's a fair request and I'm amazed at how politely they're stating their case. However... The stairs were a tad too steep, and had narrow steps. For someone with size 47 shoes, coming downstairs was comical, having to hang on to the balustrade with both hands, like a child, so as not to tumble down. Oh, well... Having said that, I would not hesitate either to recommend this hotel to others, or to return for another night in transit when we're in the area.

Their restaurant opened at 5 pm. We went at 6:15 pm and they said they had no food and were not taking orders??? Two hours later we walked by the restaurant and the kitchen, which you can see from the road, was busy preparing meals???

The room was clean, nice bed and we did have a good sleep through the night. Since the whole building was build from wood, the sound proofing was weak, but its not a problem if the “quality” of other guest was good. The breakfast included was surprisingly delicious

Had an excellent dinner here. Laundromats right next door. Easy walking to all services and to do some looking at the local shops and night market
