The accommodation was okay, but considering the price, it didn’t quite convince us enough to want to stay here again if we were back in the area. It’s a bit misleading that some of the photos shown on Google are actually from the nearby partner hotel (Riverhouse Resort).
On the positive side, the room’s terrace was spacious and offered a lovely view of the river. The shower was actually decent by Thai standards, but unfortunately, there was visible mold in the bathroom.
The rooms are very poorly soundproofed, although that’s somewhat understandable given the wooden construction. That said, the room’s amenities could definitely be improved – there was no fridge, and no mosquito net (neither over the bed nor on the terrace door), and no way to hang your own either.
The staff didn’t come across as particularly warm or welcoming. We had booked breakfast as well – we definitely wouldn’t do that again. The omelet was bland, and the rest was just toast with peanut butter and jam, along with some bananas and papaya. What really disappointed us was that they only served instant coffee – especially surprising in a region known for growing coffee.
Overall, it felt like the place isn’t really trying to make guests feel at home, but rather relying on a steady stream of travelers doing the Mae Hong Son Loop.
