It was such an emotional day for me that I didn’t even take any pictures! 😄 The place is truly beautiful — all those photos with the stunning views are real. The ambiance is perfect: elegant but not pretentious, cozy but not too simple. I booked this restaurant for my husband’s birthday dinner after a long trip, and we weren’t disappointed! We ordered the 3-course dinner — everything was delicious. I especially loved the tuna tacos and the halibut, and the dessert was wonderful too. The service was exceptional, but I want to give a special thanks to Evan! He was amazing not only at his job, but after finishing his long shift, he helped us to start our rental car when the battery died right at the top of the hill ))) Thank you so much, Evan! It’s not just about that polite, professional “cold friendliness” you often see in service — it’s about genuine human warmth and kindness, which is so rare nowadays. Thank you, thank you to the entire team! I’ll never forget this day 😁💛

One of the most spectacular sunset locations you will find at a restaurant anywhere in the world. The setting above the mouth of the Russian River is truly stunning. We’ve had dinner and or drinks here several times and the food and service has always been top-notch. The drive from here to Bodega Bay is also breathtaking. It’s about 20 mins from Bodega and Guerneville so accessible from either direction. Highly recommend. Also, there is a pay phone here for unknown reason. I can’t think of another I have run across in the past few years.

We had a wonderful, though short, stay at River's End. Though we arrived late, the staff was still very helpful in getting us settled in. The evening was quiet and beautiful, with a full moon and starry sky. We woke up to a spectacular view of the Russian River delta and Pacific Ocean. We watched a large number of sea birds feeding on fish, close enough for photographs, distant enough to not be distractingly noisy. The rooms (the Quail and Abalone cottages) were clean, modern, and well appointed.||We definitely want to return and spend more time at River's End.||We highly recommend a stay at the River's End.

Everyone especially Gabriel was warm, friendly and helpful. Bartenders and servers were exceptional! Our house was perfect. The views were too!! We had the filet mignon and salmon. Both melted in your mouth and the sides were delicious too

If you want a unique and truly relaxing 'getaway' River End in Jenner California would be a place to start. You may have to get over some of your fancy accommodation expectations, but it will be worth it. We stayed in the Pearl cabin. It was small, rustic, and simple, but had all the comforts any of us REALLY need; a very comfortable, clean bed; small refrigerator; coffee maker (with coffee in a jar - we brought our own but is was a homey touch). The room was slightly musty (expect that anywwhere at the coast) when we arrived but quickly cleared when we opened doors and windows for a few minutes. There are wall outlets to plug in anything you need and wifi was easy to access. BUT the very best was the deck and view. It was fabulous to sit and watch the where the Russian River meets the pacific ocean, and all the creatures who live there; harbor seals, pelicans, gulls, cormorants and so on. We saw a beautiful sunset ,and then sunrise with swirling fog and swiftly changing light. Champagne in the eveing an coffee in the morning. It was very soothing and cozy; we heard very little street noise. The room temp was regulated perfectly. There is a small private beach you can walk down too with provided lawn chairs. |The 'top of the line' resturant is a few cabins away if you do not want to drive anywhere (good idea to make reservations). It is expensive but it is well worth it if you want an extra treat- this is a place for 'fine dining', not eating or grubbing. You will be treated with the top service in a beautful setting. Bottom line: If you want a cozy, non fussy getaway, with a top of the line dining experience, this is a perfect place to consider.

The Oceana House was everything I hoped it would be. Amazingly comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, |Fabulous view of the river. Sunsets are amazing. We used the grill and the hot tub both days. Glass deck so relaxing. Highly recommend!!!

Google
PERCH Cabin #1 Review Note to customers: Please drive slowly. The speed limit is 25 mph in Bodega Bay. Deer and other wild life are depending on you driving slower than you normally would. It's very hard to see around the curves and the deer camouflage against the hill side. The GREAT: Gabriel was wonderful to work with. The location was perfect. The view was fabulous. The bed was super comfy. The WiFi password was room specific (great internet security feature). I would definitely consider coming here again or giving a hotel stay as a special gift to family members. This cabin is on my top two hotel rooms I have ever stayed at! This felt like a much needed once in a lifetime experience (hoping to come here again, though). The BAD: The price of the desserts were shockingly high ($18/ea - if you don't have money to burn, you'll want to check dessert prices before ordering!) The restaurant did not have plant milk nor a Vegan dessert available. I would have ordered two coffees but plant milk was not available. I learned after consumption that the non-dairy creamer powder in the cabin room was not Vegan; it's made with milk solids. Areas that could be IMPROVED upon: put a washable throw rug on the carpet (hotel carpet will feel gross to some guests), have an ice maker available for guests (I couldn't freeze my ice packs and didn't have ice available), add a small microwave in the room to reheat restaurant left-overs, and add an accessible outlet near the bed.

Google
Rustic cabin with incredible views. Similar to staying in the national parks, you pay for the view/location. Not fancy, but comfortable. Loved watching all the wildlife. You won’t be disappointed. Be sure to make dinner reservations as well.

Yelp
Outstanding on all counts. The services was impeccable. the food was perfectan the views and ambiance was pure Sonoma Coast. Where to begin. We were there for our anniversary and the wait staff made special note of that and started us out with a complimentary glass of champagne. Very good vintage mind you. Our app was the Duck Confit eggrolls. Crispy wonton rolls (4) filled with duck confit, asian noodles, napa cabbage, carrot and water chestnuts served with our ginger plum dipping sauce. Beautiful. I had the West County Burger. all-natural beef valley ford smoked cheddar cheese, house bbq sauce, and crispy leeks served on a toasted bun and fries. I had my BBQ sauce on the side. My wife had the Petrale Sole. Lightly grilled petrale sole set over lightly baked turnips and sauteed rainbow chard finished with a mandarin orange sauce. Our finish was the Creme Brule. Outstanding!!!!.

Yelp
This is our go to special occasion spot. Although this visit was a "just because". Came out here way too late to enjoy the view but the food was amazing as always and the service was outstanding. My wife and I enjoyed the following; The duck confit rolls - super yummy Cream of Mushroom soup - wanted to order another. The Korean Chicken Sandwich - a little spicy for my wife but we both still loved it. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The food was excellent as it always is in the service was really good. The view from the restaurant is spectacular. We stayed there two or three times and did again this time, but the building is starting to be in total disrepair. If you look up at the building from the beach, I think you'd be afraid to stay there. Between cabins the area underneath, the pavement is giving away, and the wood has rotted that holds it in place. The underneath the buildings has all fallen away. There used to be a path from the bottom of the building to the beach below, but it is laying in parts in total disrepair , it would look better if they just remove the parts so you wouldn't see how badly the place is falling apart. It is so sad to see this because the restaurant is so good !

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. We were excited about the beautiful view despite it being a cloudy day and we were not disappointed. Try to get a seat by the window--it is worth it! We opted for the tasting menu. We thought the entrees were just alright but the appetizers and desserts were amazing! Heirloom tomato salad 5/5 The balsamic dressing they use on this is probably the best I've ever had. It had a thick syrup and was the perfect amount of tart. I also like the cheese they put on top. Ahi poke 5/5 The crisps were fried absolutely perfectly and I loved the ginger dressing they put with the fish and cucumbers. Applewood smoked filet mignon 4/5 We got the steak medium rare but it was a little bit chewy for me. Duck breast and wedges 4.5/5 Super tasty duck breast and you can taste something special with the potato wedges that have been fried in the duck oil. Sole 4/5 This fish was put on top of a butternut squash puree. Just okay in my opinion. Our creme brulee 5/5 So delicious and not overly sweet at all. The sugar top was perfect and the creme brulee was so creamy and smooth. Berry trifle 5/5 A great choice as well (although the creme brulee was my favorite). Basically a cake in a cup.

Yelp
Amazing view, great food, reasonable pricing. Worth every bit of my 5 stars. As others said, the dress code isn't enforced strictly. I saw a few come in with jeans and it was still fine. The vibe isn't too overly fancy but the view is lovely and you're in a nice woods-y cabin. I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the food was because sometimes spots with great views don't try as hard with food quality but it's different here. Everything we had was well flavored and nicely done. The elk was unique with the tangerine sauce while the local bay prawns were very fresh in my pasta. No complaints. We enjoyed the view right by the window as a nice plus to all this. Easy to get in and out of the area despite the parking being small. It's free as well.

Yelp
View, service and food are outstanding! You should go! The wine list is wonderful and sourced by some really great local wineries. Their mushroom soup, when available, is made with foraged mushrooms ‍ locally available. Probably the only soup I've ever dreamed about.

Yelp
Absolutely a must! The entire experience was wonderful. Great sunset views, attentive and professional wait staff, we felt pampered! The food was spectacular. Everything we had was delicious and the portions were perfect.

Yelp
We arrived at 5:15 pm for our reservation and were immediately taken to our window table. Liona was our server who took our drink orders - a tall Johnny Walker Black Scotch & Soda (with soda that actually had bubbles!) for me and a glass of Breathless Brut Rose for my wife (we had never had that bubbly Rosa, and found it to be very dry and full flavored). We then places our order - me - Applewood Smoked Filet Mignon, and my wife, the Prix Fixe Halibut. Both entries were amazing, and that was with one of the best sunset views and amazing service! This is clearly one of our most favorite restaurants. We will be back, soon! Thanks to all staff at River's End Restaurant!

Yelp
The food is amazing, Fillet mignon is so delicious, ahi salad is the best and the Chef and staff are great, The view is amazing, sunsets are beautiful. Lodging cabins, and the sunset house are amazing, the Headlands house also amazing, you can't go wrong for a getaway.

Yelp
My beautiful wife made a reservation to this restaurant for her parent's 50th wedding anniversary and our two year anniversary. This place was great. The place sat on a hill with great views of the Russian River and the ocean. The inside was classy with contemporary decor. I ordered the clams. It was very flavorful. Our server was friendly and attentive. He was great and provided great service. Please give this place a try.

Yelp
This is the first time that I have been sorely disappointed in the menu. There was an expensive three course holiday option with add-on prices for two of the three main choices. The regular menu consisted of a hamburger, another sandwich, one vegetarian option and only one other dinner item. I have always had a hard time choosing between wonderful dishes. This menu was very disappointing. I will check it again before I return. It's a lovely place and this limited Choice menu could be a one-time thing.

Yelp
I wanted to let you know my thoughts on staying at Rivers End and having a meal at your restaurant. The reviews on both the restaurant and the Inn were very high and that helps me make decisions on where I want to stay and eat. So I had great hopes of a beautiful weekend in Jenner. Unfortunately, the end result was not even close to what I had hoped for. I travel often and so I'm well aware of amenities, quality, and pricing in the area. First, I will have to say that our stay in the perch cabin was fair. There was mold in the bathroom, the bathroom door was very badly beat up, walking into the room the gutter didn't hold water, and thus we got soaking wet prior to even entering the room. The sliding door out the deck did not work well, and the deck itself was extremely slippery from mold. As for the restaurant, we couldn't even finish the meal we ordered. It was absolutely not worth the price and not even worth eating. The food is tired and not well prepared. For a $300 meal it was absolutely a waste of money. I definitely would not recommend the restaurant or the Inn.

Dianna D.

Yelp
The view is ridiculously good. The service was diligent all evening. Food was top notch. Wine was local and good. Price was hefty but you are paying for that kind of experience. Parking was very challenging. Go early to get a parking spot. You may have to walk always. Bring a headlight.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed at River's End for two nights a few weeks ago, and dined in the restaurant those same two nights. I wanted to treat her to a coastal getaway as a "pre-birthday" gift. It was memorable. First, the lodging. We stayed in the Perch room, and had a wonderful view of the Russian River meeting the Pacific. The sunsets, the seabirds, the ocean roar- perfect. As to the room, we found it rustic and charming. It was clean, well appointed, and the queen bed was most comfy. A bonus: No tv! Yes, we watch tv, but the break was most welcome. I brought a Bluetooth speaker, and with excellent WiFi, we enjoyed our selection of romantic music while in the room. As to the restaurant, it was outstanding. From reception, to service, to the menu, we couldn't expect more. Our server was warm and friendly. We truly felt welcome. Our dinners both nights were expertly prepared and delicious. And here's the bonus if you stay in the Perch room: You are within 25 steps to the front door! We could not have more pleased with our too brief stay and hope to return.

Yelp
Went to Jenner to watch the sunset and happened upon the River's End. This restaurant is a solid 3.5, but I'm giving 4 stars because of our excellent waiter. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. This type of restaurant definitely prioritizes red meats and heavy dishes. Decided not to order a cocktail and got tonic with lime instead. The tonic cost $2. This restaurant is definitely expensively priced for the quality of food you get. The oysters were delicious and I'd recommend them. They have a really lovely patio that you can sit on after your meal but make sure to bring a jacket!

Yelp
Magical. This place is magical. From the view to the food, it was all delicious. My friend had the duck dish, I had the pasta special with the dungeness crab, and my other friend got the pasta with mushrooms. All the pasta was fresh, the ingredients were locally-sourced and the ambiance was just delightful. Even though it was a rainy and dreary day and we didn't get to see the sunset through the rainclouds (even though this was our goal with making reservations for just before sunset), I still thought it was magical. Looking up and down the Northern California coast at the mouth of the Russian River while also being situated under huge trees, all while being encapsulated in their all-glass patio, made it feel so unique. Our server was this very delightful woman who was very well-informed of the menu and she was such a gentle soul who sounded like she should be doing voiceovers for audiobooks or leading a meditation. It was soothing listening to her voice. My whole table had this opinion of our server. Wish I could remember her name. Anyway, we did have reservations for a Saturday, and as far as we could tell, all the tables were taken. I'm sure this place would've been even more packed if it weren't raining and if it were the peak of tourist season (Spring-Fall). Reservations are definitely the way to go and I highly recommend sitting in their glass patio during sunset.

Irineu N.

Yelp
Great food and staff. 8/10 However far too many tables inside, table arrangements compromise privacy & lighting cast shadows over the plate while i was eating. 1/10 A needy mother with a 2 toddlers was sat in the middle of the room. To be clear her kids were angels, & made hardly any noise. But her anxiety sucked the air out of the room demanding the staff bring out food immediately saying her oldest was starving & insisting they make the food faster so they could just take it to go. 1/10 Staff tried to encourage her to take in the experience and try to sit through it but when entrees came out she was quick to pack up to go boxes and leave. Her impatience with the staff delayed everyone else's food who sat before her. Huge relief when she left. 1/10 Overall disappointed, for $300 youd expect a bit more of a polished experience. 4/10 overall

Yelp
Arrived early in order to find a parking space; the service was excellent, the food was very good but the $300+ bill for two was too expensive. 'It was my wife's birthday, so We brought our own bottle of wine but $50 corkage? Won't go back for awhile, a 40 mile drive and the location is charming but just too expensive.

Yelp
5 stars all around for food, drinks, service, views, ambiance... EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! My husband and I ordered off their seasonal prefix menu for $89 per person, such an amazing deal 2 full sized appetizers, 2 large entrees & 2 very delicious desserts! We also ordered the famous and must-have fried duck confit rolls with the ginger plum dipping sauce, so crispy and the filling well seasoned! Their beet salad layered with goat cheese was fresh, the macadamia nuts & orange balsamic sauces went well with it all! I loved the combinations & Im not usually a fan of goat cheese! My husband had the lamb chop lollipops with a mint chimichurri sauce, and those were perfectly cooked, super delicious! It came with these unique, crispy, fried goat cheese balls that went great with the dish! There was so much flavor, it was amazing! The Prawn pasta with the housemade fettuccine & the truffle sauce with perfect in every bite! You can tell they really take pride in all their dishes! The bigeye tuna ahi poke served with crispy wontons and fresh avocado slices was memorable. I highly recommend trying this if you see it on the menu! For dessert we got the delicious creamy chocolate mousse & vanilla creme Brule that was crispy on top & served with fresh berries. I loved every bit, it was a lovely way to end the meal! You honestly can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Drinks - Full bar, massive wine list selections, non alcoholic options, sodas, etc. Service - the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile by the hostess and seated at our table quickly. Our waiter, was so kind and attentive! Everyone that approached our table was friendly & made sure we were happy Parking - limited parking at the top, but plenty at the bottom of the hill where the cabins are located. Just a steep hill the driver will have to walk, but so worth it because the views are beautiful! Make dinner reservations online asap! During the week, it is probably easier to get a walk-in table but definitely have a reservation for the summer weekend months (June-Aug) Great spot for a date night with loved ones & friends, plus size friendly seating, no booths, it's all tables & chairs. You can dress casually or dress up, and they encourage you to come as you are. The bar seating is full of locals & and regulars, so again, come as you are, no stress, but definitely dress up for the occasion too! The vibe is relaxed as there's many options to choose where to sit, at the bar, in the dining room, out on the deck, or the beautiful sun room. My husband & I dressed up & went outside on the deck to take photos it was beautiful! The view from the restaurant is unlike anything else on the coast! It overlooks where the ocean and the Russian River, lots of wildlife! Check the website for current hours & menu offerings!

Yelp
This restaurant is an incredible experience. We made dinner reservations and absolutely loved our meals. I had a cockail and my husband had a glass of wine at the bar and then were seated. We had a view of the ocean and got to enjoy the sunset! The food was absolutely delicious! They have a pre-fixe menu with three items (appetizer, entree, and dessert) and you can also order items al la carte. They were flexible if you wanted to order just one item off the pre-fixe menu as well. Excellent customer service, incredible views, and the food was absolutely amazing. You can also enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine and sit out on their patio and enjoy the view! Make reservations in advance and enjoy this amazing place on the Sonoma Coast!

Yelp
While taking a scenic drive along the coast, I saw this small restaurant and decided to give it a try. I really recommend getting a reservation prior to arriving. I was lucky someone didn't make their time slot. The service was incredible, and the waitstaff was attentive and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing but smiles and useful information that guided me on what to eat that evening l. The food was incredible. We shared the clams as an appetizer with the freshly baked bread. Followed by my entrée The duck omg! Cooked perfectly. My date had the pesto crab, and it was good she enjoyed it, but in my opinion, it could have used a bit more salt. Overall, it was a superb experience with kind waitstaff delicious food and a fantastic sunset!

Yelp
Excellent customer service Excellent views The food is exquisite!!! I am staying at the Jenner Inn and this beautiful place was the recommendation. I am so glad they recommend it.

Yelp
Very rude welcoming. They clearly didn't want our business..... so we took off. Good to be known for a good view, better to be known for greeting customers with a smile and a warm welcome.

Yelp
Great experience. Went for an anniversary dinner. We had the fix prixe dinner which is a three course meal around $85/person. Staff was really great. Food was darn good and the view can't be beat. Great spot for a special occasion.

Yelp
This was truly the best service ever. I can see why they have a wine spectator award. The food, view and service was to die for. My only complaint was that forgot our salad course on the three course meal. The waitress went above beyond on everything and the wine pairings very outstanding. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
We were looking forward to a wonderful meal at The River Inn after reading all the positive reviews. But unfortunately, there were several issues that made our experience less than satisfactory. The website informed us that there was a dress code, which included no shorts, sport clothes or open-toed shoes. So my husband ditched his shorts and put on long pants , my friend's son wore a dress shirt and no one wore open-toed shoes . And as soon as we sat down, we noted that the couple seated across from us were wearing shorts and T-shirts ..! We had what we thought was a great table by the window with a view of the ocean . But the sun's glare was in my eyes for the entire meal . Installing pull-down shades would be a good idea. We ordered the Spring 3 Course special . The server informed us that the price was $89 per person . This is probably my bad, but apparently the filet mignon was $100 and the halibut was $90. Next time I am in a restaurant, I will wear my glasses -lol- but as our server told us the Special was $89 per person , we just assumed that was the price of all of our main course suggestions. The " amuse bouche " was a weird combo of watermelon and heirloom tomatoes. It basically tasted like watery tomato juice and did not live up to its description as a light and refreshing intro to our meal. My filet mignon was dry and tasteless . I had requested medium but this seemed almost well-done. The sauce(gravy ? Bbq sauce?) was too sweet The ricotta was ok , the very tiny potatoes were ok , but overall the meal was a disappointment . My friend's duck confit was also dry and tasteless and also came with a too sweet sauce . My husband did enjoy his halibut dish and my friend's son liked the pasta dish . The desserts were nice - chocolate mousse was light and creamy and the berry pudding( cream? was delicious. Our server was very nice and answered all our questions with a smile :) But our meals did not live up to our expectations. The restaurant is on a very steep hill with very limited parking . I am sorry to be posting a not-great review. I felt compelled to do so because this is a very expensive restaurant. Hopefully, improvements to the menu will be successful.

Yelp
A wonderful dinner at River's End with our friends to celebrate and catch-up! The setting is breathtaking, the service first class and the food superb. If you get a chance to spend time on the North Coast, book a night or two at the Inn and have dinner at this special place!

Yelp
High marks in all regards: service, food and ambiance. My girlfriend and I did a kayaking adventure for 4 days. Coming to River's End was our reward. The whole experience was phenomenal. The food, superb and the view, unsurpassed. This is one of those rare places that doesn't need to rely on the view, the food and service could be in a warzone and it would still be a amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
you can find a full, in-depth review of river's end here on my substack: https://simmerwithsally.substack.com/p/restaurant-review-2-rivers-end-restaurant this place is a must-try if you want to see all that northern california and california cuisine can offer you. the food is absolutely incredible, and you can taste the freshness. i'm surprised these dishes (as well as the tasting menu) are priced so reasonably - any restaurant in the city serving you something similar would cost you 3x as much. the breathtaking views of the pacific ocean really is the cherry on top. it's truly worth every single cent you spend on gas hauling ass. i took a star off mainly for the decor / slightly musty smell that's inside of the restaurant. i think the decor could use a little tlc, and the musty smell was slight - overall, not anything that took away from my experience, but noteworthy enough to mention.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great service. The food is very good quality. The miso cod was a little over cooked and the filet mignon was perfectly cooked - it did not need the blue cheese and to much reduction sauce. The duck egg rolls were good. The super star dishes was the pear salad and fig crostata dessert. They had the best mock-tail menu I have ever seen - I just wish they were is a little bigger glass. The view is super nice - just get there before dark. It would be awesome if the lite the outside up at night.

Yelp
What an experience. We showed up at open and asked for a table. The hostess gracefully said they were all booked. However she was able to squeeze us in a great table. The view of the sunset was picturesque and the restaurant itself was personal and intimate. The oysters were fabulous, fresh and delicious. We also got the mushroom soup and I must say this wasn't grandma's can soup! Creamy and smooth, great with the bread. Finished off with the fish and chips, the batter was airy, light and crispy but needed a little salt. All in all a great find in Bodega, will be back!

We had the best dinner while enjoying stunning views. The grilled tomato salad started us off, and then we had the halibut and duck dinner. Delicious!! The wine was perfect as was the service.

Yelp
This is a fabulous restaurant located in an amazing setting: where the Russian River flows into the Pacific Ocean. All of the entrees are wonderful, but if you love seafood and pasta dishes, their Prawns and Pasta is as good as it gets: white gulf prawns, portobello mushrooms, and overnight tomatoes served over house-made fettuccine pasta finished with truffle cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! The web site for River's End is Ilovesunsets.com, so that should say enjoy about the views, unless you don't want a front row seat to watch the sun melt into the ocean. It's magical!

Yelp
My husband & I returned to the cabins after visiting two years ago. We wound up staying in the same cabin, Pearl- comfy & cozy as we remembered. Unfortunately we stayed Tuesday-Thursday & the restaurant isn't open on Wednesdays or Thursdays. So we got into town, & went to dinner Tuesday night. We got seated at an awkward table, the sun was right in my eyes, so I went to shift my chair around so I was seated across from my husband when I realized my chair would hit into the chair behind me. Before I couldn't even get up to move the chair back, our server appeared & with quite a bit of an attitude told us we couldn't do that. The man that helped us out afterwards was much kinder & took our order as he moved us to another table. We were seated near the kitchen entrance, & I then heard the staff talking about us in the kitchen about the chair fiasco. It wasn't really that big of a deal & it made me super uncomfortable. Im still writing a 5 star review because this place is beautiful, & our dinner was delicious. My husband got the fish & chips, and I had some of the best snapper I've ever had. My wine glass was a very short pour though- which I've seen happen in other reviews. We had a lovely getaway, despite one sour lemon. Thank you.

Yelp
Food outstanding. Service excellent. Ambiance tops. My go to restaurant for very special occasions.

Yelp
This place is over priced. I haven't stayed anywhere this decrepit since travels to South East Asia in the 70s. Why people endure the smell of sewage and tattered condition of the property, the exorbitant price, and give this place high reviews, is quite the puzzle.

Yelp
I'm hoping to become a regular here, both for the lodging and the food. It is such a serene place to get away to and have an excellent meal as well. The owner and staff are wonderful people and definitely value providing an exceptional experience to their clients. This is my go to vacation spot near the bay area. Can't recommend highly enough.

Yelp
Make a reservation. Go early and watch the sunset. Service was wonderful. Bathrooms were spotless and stocked. Food was prepared perfectly. The bread and clams are a meal in themselves. We definitely will return for our next special occasion. Thankyou for being such a wonderful and beautiful restaurant!!

Yelp
To the bartender who worked yesterday (New Year's Day). You made my bf a martini and didn't even fill it halfway. When asked you if there was more which there was, you said "no!". We're not blind but know rudeness when we see it. Even the lady drinking a martini had more in her glass and and already been drinking it. Taking a drive all the way from Half Moon Bay to come here was not worth it. We ended up getting dinner somewhere else, Main St. Bistro in nearby Guernville. Great place, better food and live music.

Yelp
The River's End Restaurant is one of the top places in the Bodega Bay/Jenner area for fine dining in a casual setting. The views are gorgeous and the food was very good. Especially try anything fresh caught on the menu. My halibut on black rice with a lemongrass broth was wonderful and so was the fresh fettuccini with prawns and mushrooms. Service was very attentive but not obtrusive. This is definitely a place to consider if you are staying in the area.

Yelp
SETTING/AMBIENCE: Located off of Hwy 1 with parking easily available. Great location for date night. Ambience is inviting with beautiful decor, the lights are dimmed to provide a warm glow, noise level is low enough to have a comfortable conversation with your partner, table settings are romantic, yet, in close proximity to other guests (at this moment they are providing distancing). FOOD: Fresh and made to order. They provide a seasonal menu that includes mostly seafood, but also have a good variety of white or red meats. Of course, it's crab season now, so expect several dishes offering crab. Everything we tried was delicious, Roseland Ceviche appetizer is a good portion to share and so flavorful. Also the Petrale Sole over butternut squash puree was so tender and tasty. And, for those craving red meat they have the Applewood Smoked Filet Mignon that's very good, as well. SERVICE: Fantastic. Our server knew the menu inside and out, made great recommendations and answered questions we had. We made a reservation via OpenTable and our table was ready without delay when we arrived. COVID Precautions: FEB 2022 - staff continues to wear mask and restaurant following all local COVID precautions. When we went, it was their first night opening from being closed for two weeks due to Covid. I appreciate knowing restauranteurs taking all precautions to prevent the spread - thank you!

Yelp
We chose this restaurant for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time! We were attended to as soon as we came to the door. We were early so we started with a drink at the bar and took it outside to watch the sunset over the river. We ordered the duck confit rolls for an appetizer, absolutely delicious! The duck was so well prepared you wouldn't know it's as duck. I saw something on the menu that I've never seen at a restaurant - North American elk racklette. We love game meats and to see it on the menu was a treat, the sauce went perfectly with the meat. I wish I could see this on more menus. Our server was very attentive and made great suggestions. The whole restaurant is small in a good way which makes it intimate. It's all windows so you can see the sunset over the water from any seat. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I'd love to give this restaurant 5 stars, but my poor husband almost cooked in the sun. Love the views, but those same windows can be brutal. The service was impeccable. Sarah is a master at her craft! The food was presented well and well portioned. Our favorite was the salmon crudo. I was less impressed with the ceviche...I could only taste limes and the seafood was minced and got lost in the lime & peppers. Recommend the duck confit as well. Definitely worth stopping in any time we are in town.

Yelp
Great food. The chocolate mousse is extraordinary. We have driven many miles out of our way to get the mousse and they sell it to go!

Yelp
The location and the setting of the restaurant is out of this world. The physical exterior and interior needs investment to make this place classy it deserves to be. The food was world class. I have eaten in many high end restaurants and it's usually very hard to impress me, but I was truly impressed. Seriously if the place was physically more classy, I would think it was a Michelin star restaurant. The day we were there the sunset was just magical. Never seen anything like that.
