Riverside Backpackers

Came here after an awful night at another hostel down the road... This felt like a safe haven. Private room with AC and shower for like $11, very nice staff, and super helpful. Bed was comfortable and staff helped me get a bus (FYI Great Ibisi which ended up breaking down but not hotel's fault!) and do my laundry next store, which came back smelling UNBELIEVABLE

I stayed here for three nights in late February 2018 after staying in a much less comfortable place just around the corner. The owners, a Danish set of siblings, and their Khmer staff were all friendly people. I stayed in a dorm room for $4.00 per night which came with a fan, speedy wifi and showers with hot water heaters. They have two laundry facilities next door, a lively meats and produce market just up the street, the river just down the street and everything else you may need in the near vicinity. Their $2.00 fruit smoothies are totally recommended and I also enjoyed their nice selection of board games and books.

Spent there 2 nights in double room. The room was far from our expectations, dirty and stinking with must (the must filled the entire room). For a total price of 15 USD (2 nights 2 people) it wasn't the worst choice, just consider whether you get what you pay for. Nice and friendly service and people (speaking English). They provide also other services (bus tickets, tuk-tuk, etc.).

It's OK. You get what you pay for. Stayed in single bed room with fan only and shared bathroom. Not that clean but not smelly. Very simple room, and quite tiny. Mattress was ok, but the cover not so much. It's the kind that develops lint balls, and it has already developed quite a few during my stay. The shared bathroom felt the same, not so hygienic and clean. I'm not picky or snobbish, im just saying it as it is. It's pretty much what I expected when I chose to stay here. Now you know what to expect. They have a foosball cabinet in the lobby/resto. So, that was fun.

I was had been in Cambodia for 8 months up until November when I went to visit PP to sort out my OZ visa I left my suitcase in my room here which was also two days before my birthday, locked away. I nipped out for lunch and when I came back within an hour I went only room and my suitcase was gone and the owner acted vety guilty but denied all knowledge although upon questioning thy were the only other people with a key to the room. So having all my stuff stolen within a few hours of arriving in the capital from this guesthouse I had to get a flight back home... Not impressed, the staff were very rude and tried ignoring me. I advise against staying here but this is only my experience

I have to strongly recommend staying here. So glad we chose this place. The room was perfect, the location was excellent, the owner, staff, and even guests are awesome, friendly, and super helpful. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Phnom Penh. :)

Under new management, who are lovely. They where so friendly and informative. They gave us the rooms for a very decent price. The hostel itself is located in a fantastic location - hidden in the name 😊. Thanks for the hospitality!

Very simple place, not very clean/fresh dorm but at 3,5usd in that area it's good enough! Clean sheets, very quiet and good prices in the bar. Very good location downtown.
