Riverside Hotel Durban

It was such an amazing stay, the service the rooms, the food, i really enjoyed my stay, i am hoping to visit soon with my family

Hotel is very old I think location is not that good you need any how car to go out

My family and I attended the 2Unique buffet on Friday night. The welcome was great and the dance was epic BUT food is the way to one's heart and the food was a 1 star for us from starters to desert. From the lamb curry, roost chicken, roost lamb, roost potatoes, even the butter nut had to salt. Also a suggestion, when serving buffets, try doing it in stages oppose to putting up starters, main and desert altogether. I even spoke to one of the waiters regarding this and was advised that instead of doing the buffet, rather go for the individual meals from the menu. That's 2k down the drian but we enjoyed the 2unique concert and that's what the 2 star is for which I wish I could do a 5 for them

It was my first time staying at the Riverside hotel. The staff members in all categories were so friendly and efficient. Our room was neat and clean.The guests were friendly as well. A special thank you to the waiters, waitresses and Mr Mannie Govender for ensuring that my vegan dietary requirements were met with ease. I appreciate the great service received and I will definitely be back again

We had a good welcome and the staff were responsive and friendly. Our room key did not work responsively and we were locked out twice (on arrival and once during the stay), needing it reset at reception. The hotel's family room is a great option if you travel with children. It offers good size (two double beds) and conveniences like a mini-kitchen with a sink, bar fridge, and cupboard spaces. The bathroom is relatively spacious with a separate shower and tub which we really liked. The basin is terribly shallow and not user-friendly. We encountered a a small roach on each day in our room. On arrival, we detected the smell of urine in the room and couldn't pin down where it came from. We thought ventilating the room would help, but we still detected it the next day after requesting a check and turndown. We discovered ourselves that it was the desk chair. After reporting it and sending it out, we didn't get a replacement. The breakfast was good and many options available. However, at our first breakfast, the fruit and yogurt section was left uncovered and unmonitored, so flies circulated there. Best to get there early. I love that there is a bar, play-area for kids and family-friendly spaces. Overall, the hotel is fair and offers reasonable rates even in peak times.

This review is a mixed one. The Riverside venue holds special memories for my husband and I and we have said for a while we wanted to return for a meal. We visited the hotel on a Saturday evening not knowing that a live bands performs. I will say that the singers really had beautiful voices and they bring the good old songs when one could still hear the words, sing along and was pute nostalgia, kept the crowd entertained and people dancing. Very enjoyable. Then sadly the evening shifted. We ordered our meals, one arrived short and had to be made quickly. When it arrived it was incorrect. Sadly overall the meal was not enjoyed by any of thr party. The drinks order was also incorrect but we carried on regardless. Perhaps the kitchen was just to busy. Will we go back? To enjoy the music and drinks but certainly not for a meal. The venue itself is pleasant enough. The staff overall from when we entered until we departed were friendly.

We visited their restaurant during this festive season. In the past, this hotel had a great reputation but unfortunately the standard has dropped lately. Our waiter was friendly but unfortunately we did not enjoy the food & the experience was very challenging due to flies that disturbed us while eating. I would recommend for the owners to consider pest control, consistent cleaning & new renovations for the buildings in order to attract high calibre customers.

It was a great stay here in our hotel for days. The service was exceptional, the hospitality is so nice, the staff are so friendly and nice! Looking forward to stay here again and again. Thank you so much for a luxury stay here
