Our family of 3 had a great time based there recently. it is very convenient to Southbank Cultural Precinct and City CBD, West End food areas etc . The rooms were well looked after. Off street basement parking worked well too. The staff were exceptional and so cheerful and efficient and helped us to relax. A few room service requests were promptly attended to. We will return . cheers

Not value for money - lots of places offer nicer, clean rooms at a similar price point. Like many other reviewers, I found the room to be dated and dirty. The furniture was chipped and walls stained around the room. There are large gaps beneath the door which allow noise from the hall in at night. The balcony door also had a broken lock. The room was serviced during the day but staff failed to lock the door on exiting. It was left unsecured all day. The reception staff shrugged off the issue because the door was old. I paid for a private, secure room but may has well have left my belongings in an open public hallway; equal parts dirty and unsecured.

Reception staff were very professional and lovely to deal with. The pool is not much more than a plunge pool but it was clean. We reserved a room for 4, with a double bed and sofa. The double bed was firm, but reasonably comfortable. The sofa bed however was terrible. The spring mattress allowed the children to feel every spring digging into them so it was impossible for them to sleep. They were given 2 sheets as their top bed spread. No blanket, and there were no extra blankets of linen in the room. There was a washer and dryer available in the room which was great, but the microwave looked as though it had never been cleaned. The whole room was clean but shabby, with holes in the walls and the bathtub looked as though it had been scrubbed with a wire brush. The location was right on a busy road, and while the double glazed doors block most of the sound, it was still loud enough to keep you awake if you are not used to the sound of traffic at night. A plus was that there was air con and large TV's in both the bedroom and lounge.

Stayed here and got a surprise guest—a huge cockroach in my room at 10PM. when I kindly requested a room change, I was told that the issue could only be addressed the next day. Imagine my feeling to stay all night with cockroach, and the ultimate solution was… to simply kill the cockroach and call it done. It’s truly heartwarming to see a hotel so committed to cohabitation with nature, I’d recommend bringing your own spray, better yet, booking somewhere else. Oh and after everything, I try to wash my clothes, guess what? the washing machine was broken!

When visiting Brisbane we usually choose to stay at Riverside Hotel. This visit was made extra special by two staff members who went out of their way to look after us. |Lexi at Reception, after she realised the room we had requested on our previous visit was not available to us and the one allocated denied us the view, upgraded us to a similar Riverside room where we could still see the Christmas lights. Her kindness and consideration was so much appreciated, in fact I’m sure the memory of this kindness will stay with us. |To top off our stay we found John in the restaurant was just as considerate and kind when we decided to book in for dinner. He ensured our meal perfectly fitted our needs and looked after us in every way. The food was above average too. |I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a reasonably priced but comfortable hotel in the best spot at Southbank with amazing exemplary service as well. Thank you and best wishes Kevin and John.

This place was a little disappointing, very close to restaurants, cafes, and the pool in southbank. Staff were extremely friendly, but the place needed a bit of an upgrade. It has a lot of potential. The room was just ok, the level from the room to the toilet was different, and I stubbed my toe like 3 times going to the toilet at night. We were put right next to the bin area so our room stank, and we could hear people putting stuff in the bin. Also, the bin truck came at like 4 a.m., waking my 2 year old up. The food wasn't great. With some renovations, staff training, and a change of food menu, it could be a great boutique hotel.

Whilst we didn't get the room requested at time of booking, staff made up for it by allowing breakfast each morning free of charge in lieu. I think there were some times when more staff would have been required but the team were very helpful and obliging. I would stay here again.

Great location with friendly staff. Restaurant was ok for what it was. The rooms are a bit run down and could do with a freshen up. Nice little pool area as well

Yelp
I found this hotel on lastminute.com as we decided to stay in the city for the night. Firstly for what we paid for the night it was great. Being only 10 mins from QPAC was the clincher. We were able to walk there and back saving us money and time on a taxi. We were welcomed by a very friendly bloke at the front counter for check it, this was sorted quickly and it was explained how we access the car park and the best place to park in there for our room. The room that we had was a simple 1x queen bed and 1x single bed. There was a tv, table, chair and the beds. The lighting in the room was looked after by a stand alone floor lamp. While this did the job, it did make the room a bit dark and dull. The bathroom was simple. Shower over bath, toilet, basin with full wall length mirror. There wasn't much room in the bathroom for 2 people to get ready. The shower over bath was a bit small as well (however there was great hot water and good water pressure). The curtains were block out. The room did smell a bit musty and closed up (maybe while they are cleaning the room they could open the balcony door and let some fresh air in) however once the air conditioning was turned on it disappeared quickly. Would I stay there again? Yes. For what we needed it for it was money well spent with a comfortable bed.
