Where do I start? The rooms are old and not just tired, but in disrepair. The double bed had an ikea mattress topper that was 10cm smaller than the mattress all round, reducing the sleeping area and causing discomfort if you rolled close to the edge. The carpet was worn and dirty. The bathroom was small, had calcium buildup on the glass and tiles and areas of rust and mould around the shower door. The soap holder kept turning to the side so could not be used.. There is absolutely no soundproofing. Our room was outside a lift and when people were coming in late or leaving in the early hours of the morning we could hear their chatter and laughter. We could also hear the hotel staff talking in the early hours as the linen and services room were opposite. The balcony was unusable - small, dark and next to the car park with noisy cars. The pool is closed and was supposed to re-open on 1 Sept but didn’t. When I spoke to the staff and asked if they might have a cleaner and nicer room, they rudely said they were booked out, no apology or enquiry as to how they could improve things. The photos on the website and booking.com are deceptive.

Riverside Southbank is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the friendly service and inviting ambiance set the tone for a wonderful meal. The riverside views create the perfect backdrop, whether you’re here for a casual outing or something special. The food is delicious with generous portions and great variety. A fantastic spot that combines excellent service, amazing food, and a relaxing setting. Definitely worth coming back again and again!

There's three basics that any hotel needs to get right, no matter the price. The bed, the shower and cleanliness. Well, as the song goes, two out of three ain't bad. The need was very good and enabled a good sleep. The room was clean, so all good there. The shower was poor. I'm not a fan of shower over bath, but when the bath is so small it's unusable, then it's just a waste of space and forces me to climb over for no reason. Overall the bathroom was tiny and for no reason. There's heaps of space either side of the bed, so it could have been made bigger. Staff were great and there's free parking with your stay. Had a coffee at the restaurant and it was also good. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Clean, adequate space, table and 2 chairs, wardrobe with hangers, etc.|Shower cubicle: good barrier, no leakage of water to wash basin/toilet area. However, missing tray for body wash and shampoo cum conditioner, so had to put body wash gel and shampoo/conditioner on the floor. Only 20ml of body wash (and 2 tubes of conditioning shampoo) for 3 persons for 3 nights stay. Tap was too short for filling up kettle. Ought to install taller tap.|Should have a couple of hooks behind door (to hang clothes while showering or while using the toilet) and cord in shower cubicle (to hang washed underwear and socks).|One bedside table had no power socket. Power sockets were suitable for domestic travellers but not for international travellers.

The location of this hotel is excellent. Walk to the city, walk to the theatre and the restaurants. And the parking is free!!!! Our one bedroom apartment was clean and the bed comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are in dire need for a renovation. Service is always friendly.

While the location is convenient the standard of rooms is very poor. No soundproofing at all so you can hear everything your neighbours are doing. Bathroom is very basic with very poor shower pressure. There is no safe in the room, the linen smells. Not sure how it rates 4 stars ? We will not be back as there are better options in Brisbane.

Staff were nice but the place needs massive work. Patched up plasterwork on the walls, rusty toilet paper holder in the bathroom & outdated decor. Linen wasn’t overally clean. No power points near the beds. TV did not work properly & pixelated but did have access to wifi to stream from other platforms to TV. Location is okay but requires a walk. It was okay for a night but definitely wouldn’t stay here for a week. The hallways need some major work done with the carpets. All in all it does need a revamp but it’s a roof for a night if you’re not too choosy.

I am extremely disappointed with the service at the restaurant particularly from the receptionist, who worked yesterday and today. While the other staff were friendly and polite, Shusma was rude, inattentive, and acted as though serving costumers was a burden. Simple greetings and smile- the very basics of hospitality- were completely missing. She even collected our dishes without asking if we were finished, and then failed to clean the table, leaving it dirty and unpleasant for the rest of our meal. Simple request were ignored, and when approached, her attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. This experience was disappointing enough that will not be returning!

Yelp
I found this hotel on lastminute.com as we decided to stay in the city for the night. Firstly for what we paid for the night it was great. Being only 10 mins from QPAC was the clincher. We were able to walk there and back saving us money and time on a taxi. We were welcomed by a very friendly bloke at the front counter for check it, this was sorted quickly and it was explained how we access the car park and the best place to park in there for our room. The room that we had was a simple 1x queen bed and 1x single bed. There was a tv, table, chair and the beds. The lighting in the room was looked after by a stand alone floor lamp. While this did the job, it did make the room a bit dark and dull. The bathroom was simple. Shower over bath, toilet, basin with full wall length mirror. There wasn't much room in the bathroom for 2 people to get ready. The shower over bath was a bit small as well (however there was great hot water and good water pressure). The curtains were block out. The room did smell a bit musty and closed up (maybe while they are cleaning the room they could open the balcony door and let some fresh air in) however once the air conditioning was turned on it disappeared quickly. Would I stay there again? Yes. For what we needed it for it was money well spent with a comfortable bed.
