Excellent B&B very clean with the best breakfasts around, all homemade! Fresh cake made every day to take out with you. Richard and Diney (the owners ) lovely and brilliant at suggesting walks/trips. Been many times and still love It, my favourite place to stay

Exceptional ➖ Nothing t dislike ➕ Having stayed in many B&bs we found this one to be exceptional. The room was stunning with beautiful decor and bedding. The bed was extra comfortable. We really like the little lounge area in front of window. This room was full of extra personal touches including, bath bomb, toiletries, body lotion, and complimentary face wipes for makeup removal. There were clear notifications in the room and the welcome info was extensive. The hospitality tray included a water, tea coffee hot chocolate, biscuits and a small bottle of red wine. The breakfast was simply amazing, there was so much choice, I really liked the fruits steeped in brandy and home made preserves which were different each day, there was also homemade cake and flapjack to take away for the day which tasted wonderful. The house was like home from home and located in a quiet area with a short 10 min walk into town. Our hosts Diney and Richard were lovely and welcoming and very knowledgeable of the area.. this B&B is a must for B&B lovers who like a taste of luxury for a very reasonable price.

Richard and Diney are the perfect hosts in every way. Both are so friendly , warm and inviting and cannot do enough to make the stay perfect. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious also the cake Diney made each morning for us to take away. Riverside is in a perfect pretty location to walk to Ambleside and beyond. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast it definitely deserves 5 star++

Great location, 10 minute walk from centre of Ambleside and easy access to the walks around it. Rooms very large, well stocked, and well furnished, very clean too. Excellent breakfast, good amount of food for a day of walking. Host Richard is very friendly and helpful, happy to give advice about things to do or places to see around the area.

Myself and my wife have just returned from a wonderful couple of days at the Riverside B & B in Ambleside. Richard and Diney are very hospitable hosts with a great knowledge of the surrounding area that really helped us to make the most of our time in 'the Lakes'. The breakfast was superb, all home cooked and using local produce. Diney also baked a fresh cake each day that the guests could enjoy. The room was spotless and very well equipped. The toiletries were all locally sourced and a nice touch. It was always a pleasure to return to the room after a good days walk... It's the little things which impressed and the friendly atmosphere that Richard and Diney have created. We very much look forward to a return stay and recommending to family and friends. This is the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. Richard and Diney go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is the best it can be, nothing is too much trouble. From when you first arrive to when you leave you are looked after, its actually a shame when you come to leave. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the showers are excellent and the rooms facilities are second to none, all toiletries are locally sourced and smell fantastic. The honesty bar comes packed with goodies from locally sourced Real Ale to locally sourced Whiskey and Gin. As I previously stated nothing is too much trouble, from nibbles when you're sat out in the garden to ensuring that your stay is the best that it could be. I have kept the best till last, the food is amazing. Diney is a fantastic chef who bakes cake for all guests to take at breakfast for the days walking. The breakfast is fit for a King, all the food is locally sourced where possible and is out of this world. I cannot recommend the Riverside Bed and Breakfast enough, and if anybody is in the area and in need of a place to stay- This has got to be it. I look forward to our next trip to the Lakes. We stopped here recently for my sisters wedding nearby and it was perfect. A really great place just a short walk from Ambleside and really close to Windermere and other lakes. Richard and Diney were incredibly welcoming and really made the stay. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. Last by no means least, the breakfast was spectacular... so many options and all of them delicious. The homemade mueseli and granola were a yummy starter prior to the full English and the homemade cake to takeaway each day topped it off!

My third visit to Richard and Diney's fabulous B&B. Superb hosts in a very well placed and comfortable home close enough to Ambleside to walk in to town for supper. The breakfasts are to die for - unbelievable choice and the best quality I have had anywhere, bar none.
