Riverside Majestic Hotel - Astana Wing

1. The cleanliness of the room needs to be improved. There was a bunch of unknown sand-like stuff on the bed and pillows, which made people feel disgusted. 2. I'm not sure whether hair dryer is one of the basic amenities provided, but the room I stayed in didn't have one. After requesting one from reception, it took a long time to arrive in the room and was damaged and unusable. I didn't bother to ask for one anymore. 3. The parking system needs improvement. Almost every day after I moved in, the system would prompt me to pay the parking fee before leaving the parking lot (on my first day, I parked at the Puteri Wing parking lot, that was my fault). On the following two days, I had to go to the reception to inform them before leaving. Overall, the hotel's views (river view) and location are excellent. The only areas for improvement are cleanliness in the rooms and the efficiency of the staff and systems.

View was good with strategic location . I’m not sure if it’s a 5 stars hotel but the room definitely 2 stars for me . Wall with moldy spots ,dirt stain spot on chair , bed and pillows was uncomfortable can’t really sleep well, toilet was terrible with dirty mold edges, broken shower head, no sink stopper . No face towels provided . Time to renovate n revamp. would like to see a new riverside hotel in the future . Love their location

Excellent stay – Great value, great location! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I booked a Superior Twin room at Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing and was very pleased with my stay. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained — perfect for a comfortable night’s rest. The location is excellent, right by the Kuching Waterfront with easy access to major attractions, eateries, and shops. It was convenient to explore the city on foot from here. The price was very reasonable for what you get. Definitely good value, especially considering the size and comfort of the room. What stood out the most was the friendly and helpful staff — from check-in to housekeeping, everyone was welcoming and professional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient, clean, and comfortable stay in Kuching!

I stayed at Astana Wing Riverside Hotel during a recent business trip and found it to be a comfortable and practical choice. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a conducive environment for rest after a long day of meetings.The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby restaurants within walking distance, which made meals and short breaks very manageable during my stay.The service provided by the staff was acceptable; however, I believe a warmer and more welcoming approach would further enhance the experience for business travellers.Overall, the hotel offers good value for business trips, with comfort, space, and accessibility as its main strengths.

This is not a true 5-star hotel! While the location is excellent and breakfast was good, the rooms fall far short of the claimed rating. Mold in the shower, low-quality amenities (including cheap shower gel), and an overall lack of luxury make it feel more like a mid-range property. The room itself was quite outdated and not well maintained, with visible wear and tear. Sustainability is completely absent — they still use disposable plastic bottles for shower gel and toiletries instead of refillable dispensers. Overall, very disappointing if you’re expecting genuine 5-star comfort.

We came here and stay from 4th Oct until 8 Oct 2025. Only executive room was available during this date. We booked 4 executive room and 1 standard room on 5th Oct 25 until 7 Oct 25. I would like to impress my disappointment for executive lounge where the foods was so limited. Breakfast also limited and when we request for nasi lemak, they will suggest us to go down at lobby for a full foods. This hotel was also under Grand Margerita and not like GM, the executive lounge was good and have a several / a lots of food. We also rent a car during this date. What really made me mad, we have to informed to lobby every time we want to go out. Why this hotel did not have a parking system and only register the plate number, we can go out anytime and no need to informed to lobby.

I stayed for 3 nights. The location is very convenient and accessible, with a beautiful view of the river. Unfortunately, I had to change rooms three times on the first day due to air-conditioning issues. Even the final room was not cool enough. The same issue occurred in the breakfast area—the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. My friend also had to change rooms for the same reason. The staff was friendly and tried their best to assist.

Stayed for one night at the hotel and thankfully only one night. The hotel has a great location but the cleanliness and staff was terrible. In terms of cleanliness, my room had random chunks of hair on the floor as if the floor was never vacuumed or cleaned. I also found random used and OPENED safety pins in the toilets and desk in the room. This poses a huge safety risk as anyone could have been pricked if they did not notice it. In terms of hospitality, the lady at the front desk was extremely unfriendly. No basic greeting. Spoke to me like my presence was unwelcome. When I requested for late check out, instead of responding to my request, she looked away, gave a look to her colleague who then attended to me. After checking out, I politely said thank you to which she just ignored and looked away. The hospitality shown was horrible for a service sector and I wouldn’t want to return to this type of hospitality. It was extremely unwelcoming. I would suggest if your employees are not happy to be working then please do not put them at the front desk as this is the first impression of your hotel. And if it was based of this, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. And I wouldn’t recommend it due to its cleanliness.
