This was the best possible place to start our safari. It was a beautiful and serene environment that helped us get over jet lag. They have families of monkeys living on the property that were a joy to watch. The staff was exceptional, both at the hotel and the restaurant. Isaak, our waiter, gave us great recommendations and was incredibly gracious.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rivertrees Inn. The staff was amazing and made our experience truly special. Our room was wonderful and the overall atmosphere was perfect for relaxation. The massage was fantastic - a great way to unwind. This was the perfect start to our safari trip, setting the tone for an incredible adventure. Highly recommended for anyone beginning their Tanzanian journey.

We were welcomed with cool towels for our faces and a refreshing drink. Check in wasn’t until 2pm but they moved things around to allow us to access our room at 10am as we had arrived so early and after 24 hours of travelling. Whilst we waited they lit a fire for us to sit aside as it was a chilly morning and they bought us coffee and some food. Our room was so lovely with all the amenities needed. The grounds are stunning with lots of monkeys to watch and a beautiful river. The team working there cannot do enough for you and are so kind.

Fabulous all round. Wake up to the sound of the river and nature all around. The accommodation was great, food lovely and fresh from their garden and friendly service, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place, tranquil, plenty of space to roam and fantastic restaurant/bar space to unwind. A special mention for both Nelson and Joel, who made my day and evening comfortable and looked after me, no ask was too much - would highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for a place to start or end their travels nearby.

I stayed at river trees for 3 nights. The hospitality and service was amazing! The food was amazing and fresh. Rooms are very spacious and clean. It is near the river so remember to wear bug spray. The atmosphere was beautiful and had plenty of space to walk and get fresh air.

Arrived to warm welcome after flights and drive from Kilamanjaro. Staff were amazing, helpful and informative about their lives. They looked after us. Had a lovely walk around the grounds and river, watching the monkeys in the trees.|Tip, take a torch to dinner so you can check the floor on the way back to your room for fire ants! They come out at night.

I was so sad we only stayed here for one night pre safari as it’s as beautiful as everyone says! We were impressed by the size of our room and how comfortable it was along with the stylish and traditional touches. Getting to see the monkeys through our room window made for the perfect welcome! Pool was too chilly to swim in but a gorgeous place to lounge - just be sure to wear lots of bug spray given the tropical destination. We had amazing dinner service and our plan included both breakfast and supper. Our server Nelson was great and the fish wrapped in banana leaves was nothing short of superb. The cool outdoor bar area and fact you could have a drink by the fire and chat with other guests were big wins for us. I found breakfast to be plentiful and so fresh too. This place feels like a proper escape and worth 2 nights on its own even without any tours. Also a great gift shop for taking home souvenirs!
