First and last visit! Cottages are in serious need of repair! Our cottage door didn’t close and lock, window curtains were ripped apart and torn, there were bugs in our mini fridge, mattress was very uncomfortable as you could feel the springs coming through it, no garbage bags supplied only a small bathroom garbage pail in cottage, picnic tables falling apart, and there was NO HOT WATER AT ALL!! At $130/night I expect better! When I mentioned the lack of hot water, I received just an “oh, I’m so sorry about that!” Will not stay there again!!

Comfy, cozy and clean! What more does one need? This is not a Grand Hilton Hotel.... it is a lovely little grouping of cottages to be enjoyed as a peaceful one night stay or a quiet, restful extended stay. Picnic tables, firepits and games areas dot the extensive grounds. The owners are gracious and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Parrsboro !!

It has been a few years since my Husband and I stayed at Riverview Cottages. Sandy was an excellent host!! He was palliative and just wanted to see the tide. Actually we ended up there as a result of Information Nova Scotia. We had one night stay, and, hoped for a 2nd night. Mark had a little trouble travelling at this point and unfortunately there was no space for a second night. I took Mark where the tide changed,.upon. Return we were offered a bigger space with kitchenette. Was the best news. Hospitality was excellent. May one day I can return. Thank you

Stayed here with friend two different times, and plan to go again. Hospitality is the best, have everything you need, choose a rustic cottage to suit you, clean, comfortable . Area is peaceful, camp fire, playgrounds, everything is kept up well and organized. Near amities, so much to see and do in the area, it’s beautiful and friendly people. Highly recommend

We had the number 8 cottage which is quite spacious (sleep up to 4 people, we were only 2). We had a lovely wood stove fireplace in the room, a kitchenette which was handy because things in the town closed early. All the necessary utensils and amenities were provided. Lovely, quiet location which is central to all the sites we wanted to visit. We will definitely go again.

We stay here every year! Great location, great setting, the communal fire pit is perfect for meeting new people!!! The cottages are reasonably priced, clean and owners are very friendly and accommodating!

Cottages are rustic and very clean with all amenities. Would be nice to have updated beds as they are springs and TVs with more reliable wifi.

Only issue, the bathroom floors in the cabin were so rotten. If sitting on the toilet tge floor beneath felt as it was rotten, and tge toilet was gonna go through the floor. We reported it to the owners, their response was no one ever reported before.

Yelp
My father, brother, and I just had an amazing weekend in two of these beautiful, rustic, cottages. The physical environment alone is enough to transport travellers to a refreshing vacation that is both relaxed and sufficiently equipped for comfort. The number of cottages (some spacious and some small with a redeemingly cuteness) helps to ensure availability and provides a village-like walkabout. You can chose to use the outdoor communal furniture and fire pit to socialize with neighbouring travellers while the young'ns use the playground, or you can borrow a portable bbq and hang out on your patio with a good book. Beyond it's physical beauty, the new owners Wendy and Jay, and their staff, fill this space with an accommodating and welcoming energy. I felt immediately welcome and continued to be surprised by their generous dedication to making sure my family had the most comfortable stay possible. Riverview cottages is close to many amenities and is a 15 minute walk to "downtown Parrsboro". I have stayed in these cottages on many occasions and it is a sure good time. Even though the river (which is actually an aboiteau) now runs low, this place is rushing with welcoming feelings and relaxing vibes.

Yelp
We booked our cabins with the previous owners over a year ago as we were planning a family reunion. Once the new owners came on board we discussed that we wanted as many of the cabins as possible - so we were able to secure 7 cabins for about 20 people and 4 dogs. Everyone stayed a minimum of 2 nights with half of us staying 5-7 days. When we discussed our plans with the new owners back in April 2012. They were aware that we were a large group, that we wanted to be able to put the children to bed and stay up with the adults and socialize with our family we only get to see every few years. They assured us that they planned on putting in fire pits and that this would not be a problem. Family travelled from around North America to come to this reunion. When we arrived we find multiple signs all over the place stating 11pm quiet time. The signs say noise after 11pm police will be called, this is your final warning and so on. We also found out that there were no fire pits built. We offered to buy a stand alone movable pit to use during out stay and that we would leave it. We were given a firm/rude "no". The quiet time is more like a curfew. At 10:55 each night the owners come around and ask you to go into your cabins. The cabins are rustic, which I like, but there is no insulation for noise so when 15 people are crowded into one cabin to visit, it get noisy. If there had been fire pits away from the cabins, we would have happily hung out there. There were also a number of instances where they said rude/strange things to members of our group. They definitely lack customer service skills and they customer is not always right. Here are some examples: 1. Family with two kids drives into the cabins and asks "where is the office?" Answer: "Didn't you see the signs???" 2. For two groups of people when they arrived from long distances in the early afternoon, they were made to wait for the 3pm check in time even though their cabins were completely ready. This meant a mom and two kids under 4 napped in their car in the heat. 3. Husband arrives a day later than his wife. Comment from owners "well check in isn't until 3pm - why are you here???" His wife had checked in the day before so it wasn't an issue so then they said "Those dogs better be friendly - we have guests who are afraid of dogs." They website clearly states pet friendly and we all called and made sure they knew we were bringing dogs. We had previously thought we might book the whole complex for the next reunion weekend n 2 years. After the way we were all treated we will be looking elsewhere. The cottages themselves are great - very rustic but charming unto themselves. Very much unlike the owners.

Yelp
We booked in advance for our 1 night stay because we found there was not a lot in the area and knew we were going to need something to count on. Not quite as interesting as the website makes it out to be for the "view". However the cabin was quite nice, CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. It's rustic, but well maintained. I haven't been in such a quiet place in a long time. There is a notice that quiet is enforced fromm 11:00 PM on. We didn't hear anything after 10:00. Wi-Fi is free, but be careful - the password is EASY to figure out. We only had one night to spend in this area, but were wishing we'd planned for more. We would be very likely to come back to this place again.

Yelp
This place is adorable! All of the cottages were built between 1930 - 1950. We stayed in one of the smaller, more 'rustic' cabins, with a single bedroom, washroom and wood burning stove for heat. (There are others, which are much larger and have electric heaters, but we were on a budget.) There's a beautiful lake only steps away, and you can take a canoe out and paddle around. There's also a large field for kids to run around in, and a couple pegs set up to play a game of horseshoes. The people who run it are very friendly, and overall it's a very relaxing, cute place to spend the weekend out of town. Open from May to October.
